Just Dance
a/n: i actually am a just dance fiend and me and my best friend used to practice the dances for when we would do game nights because we hated losing
Tumblr media
You weren’t sure whose idea it was exactly but between you and Jamie one of you had come up with the idea to have a game night. But you two didn’t want to have a regular game night, you wanted to have a Just Dance game night. You had also figured with the Hughes brothers in town it was the perfect opportunity to have everyone over for this. The thing about you and Jamie though was that you two were very competitive so you two were more than ready to play.
The boys had no clue what they were getting themselves into well except Trevor, he knew exactly what he was getting into because since he lived with you guys he got to see you both playing it pretty often when he would either get home or go out. “Alright you guys ready?” You asked and Luke at least looked enthusiastic. “You guys are getting crushed. Are we doing teams?” He asked and Jamie nodded his head. “Duh, that’s the only way to do a game night. We’re obviously a team.” Jamie pointed to the both of you.
“Quinn you’re with me.” Trevor beamed, he already knew he wasn’t going to win but he also knew he could annoy Quinn plenty by being his teammate. That left Luke and Jack together which you knew could potentially be competition. You had faith in you and Jamie though. As you played some different songs it was confirmed that Luke and Jack were the true competition during this game night. “Trevor, you’re all over the place dude. Are you even trying?” Quinn huffed and you could tell he was frustrated with his teammate.
“Okay, last song. This will determine the winner so we pick Promiscuous Girl.” You announced and Trevor flopped onto the couch. “Good luck you guys.” He chuckled and as the music started both you and Jamie recited the dance perfectly, getting as into it as possible. When you finished all three brothers stared at you. “Do you guys just sit at home playing this?” Jack asked and Trevor laughed. “That is literally all they do, they’re like an old married couple except instead of doing puzzles they play Just Dance all night.” All of the boys bursted into laughter over this. “That’s not fair!” Luke exclaimed and Jamie just shrugged. “No one made any rules so we win, next time do better.”

My thoughts/comments on roughly pages 700-900 of COI.
**TW/CW**
Alcoholism
Miscarriage
Child trafficking
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Matthew and Elias are more alike than Cordelia thinks, Matthew is just a nicer drunk than Elias. They both have/had their demons and use alcohol as an attempted escape, let's just hope things turn out better for Matthew than they did Elias .
Ahhh I really hope there isnt going to be a love triangle between Matthew, Cordelia and James, unless they become a throuple, but I am more so rooting for MatthewxLucie. Isnt Jesse like 8 years older than Lucie? I mean I guess he's technically forever 17 and doesnt have much more life experience than her but still, I prefer them as besties.
Grace leave James alone!
Uh yeah Grace no duh the Bridgestocks dont like you, you're the woman Charles left Ariadne for, that could have ruined her reputation
GRACE FUCK OFF!
JAMES DO NOT KISS HER, Tessa needs to get back and slap some sense into her son jfc!
DAMMIT JAMES!!!
"I should go" Yes you should! And leave James the fuck alone!
The Famer at the Barrow is Wayland the Smith, calling it now
Yep I knew it!
I want a crossover series where Cortana meets Sumabrander/Jack from Magnus Chase 😂😂
Wayland the Smith wants payment for healing Cortana, uh oh, all magic comes with a price
Wait what is a paladin? Does Wayland want Cordelia to find the killer and stop the killings? Has she not already sworn fealty to Cortana? - Oh no she swore fealty to Wayland, makes sense. Go kick ass Daisy!
Yikes seems as if Lucie's powers might cause some trouble for her
Possible Lucie and Ariadne friendship? Will Lucie help her and Anna get back together?
Okay I fear for Lucie when Grace tells Malcolm about Annabell.
Always thought Malcolm was the one who helped Tatianna preserve Jesse's body, apparently not, new character maybe?
Ooh honey, Malcolm this is so much worse than Annabell rejecting you.
Glad to see Lucie inherited Tessa's sensibility
Ariadne and Anna being Lucie's protective yet kickass lesbian cousins, we stan
Awwww Anna calling Lucie "ducks" 🥺
Oh my God Grace was trafficked??? Tatiana is a child trafficker? As are the Cartwrights? Holy fuck poor Grace!
I hope James is okay, I wonder if he'll tell them about Grace? Or that hes in love with Cordelia? Or that he might be possessed by the killer?
I fucking love Anna fussing over Lucie and calling her pet names, more Anna and her cousins being wholesome please!
But surely Belial cant posses James? He had the spells of protection placed on him as a baby, and he didnt actually die in COG, like Jace did in City of Glass, but maybe its different because he is half Warlock and related to Belial?
Raum venom in my shoe, oh Christopher, never change ❤
"I think he is possessed" said Thomas "He is defacing a book" LMAOOOOOOO throw that shade Tommy!
"He felt an odd sensation, tingling between his shoulder blades, apprehension perhaps?" Jamie, sweetie, I'm demiromantic and have never been in love yet even I know you're feeling love and attraction to Cordelia
"Just wound me then, stab me in the leg if you have to" Ah, young love
Hmmm Cordelia and James spending the night in the same room, sexy times to ensue?
A crack in the gracelet? Perhaps James'true love for Cordelia is strong enough to break it? Could be going a OUAT route here, if they have kids they would be the product of true love, and very powerful, could play an important role in the future?
Lmao Cordelia blue balling James as revenge for him kissing Grace, good for you girl, good for you.
Oh Thomas POV, hope we get some Thomastair interaction, first kiss maybe?
I hope Anna and Thomas dont go in search of the killer, surely Anna is going to tell him to get his ass back inside? Or maybe she's about to talk to him about his feelings for Alastair? Is this gonna be the equivalent of Nora having to confirm to Alex that he's bi?
Nope the dumbass is going on patrol alone, I'm scared for him. Maybe he'll run into Alastair and they'll patrol together and talk about their feelings?
No James you love Cordelia, not Grace. Snap out of it man!
Jamie baby you owe no one anything, please talk to your parents and Jem!
Uh oh killers POV with Thomas out alone, I'm scared
Oh God the killer noticed Thomas and now we have a Thomas POV, I dont like where this is going. Alastair come save your man!
Nooo poor Lillian. I'm still scared for Thomas though, I think the killer is trying to lure him in
Uh oh, Thomas is about to get in so much trouble
Sshhhhiittt poor Thomas. Charlotte can surely help him tho, right? She knows he would never kill someone
Oooh so James has been going out in his sleep to try and stop the killer?
Is Enoch gonna tell them about Thomas' arrest? Will he be able to help Thomas?
I want a brother Enoch backstory!
Alastair was so following Thomas for his own peace of mind, and to protect him because he loves him.
I wonder why Bridgestock has it in for Thomas.
Consul Charlotte reminds me of President Ellen Claremont, I love it.
I think the pithos is what the killer used to remove the runes
I wonder if there's gonna be some Thomastair angst and confessions now they're locked in the sanctuary together for a day.
Why is the mortal sword in Paris? Seemingly with Will and Tessa? Was Charles tried by the mortal sword?
Charlotte and Henry have been TTC for years now with no results, my theory is that the miscarriage was complicated and caused a lot of scar tissue, and now Charlotte cant get pregnant, so once her time as Consul is up (which is presumably soon, given how the merry thieves theorize that Bridgestock is vying for Consul next term) she and Henry will adopt, either twin girls or 2 girls close in age, like 2/3 year age gap at max.
I really like Eugenia and would like to read more about her.
Alastair comforting Cordelia is so sweet, they are such an iconic sibling duo.
James thinking of Matthew, Christopher and Thomas as his brother's is so wholesome and sweet, I adore it!

Okay, I know nobody asked, but since that 200k word fanfic for Rise of the Guardians was the first ever fanfic I wrote, I remember the plot, so I’m going to tell you about it.
*buckles you into a chair*
And you’re gonna listen.  *SPOILER WARNINGS, DUH*
Oh, let me tell you her powers first:
Shadow travel like Pitch, she can control the nightmares, but she has to be in constant contact with them, she can create weapons out of pure and corrupted sand, Sandman’s sleep dust doesn’t work on her and she can turn invisible to the Guardians as well.  other than that, she’s pretty low power wise compared to the others.  Like, she has a lot, but they’re all pretty draining.
...
So, the plot started in a flashback scene in Egypt, around the time that the pyramids were being built.
Our main character, I don’t remember her name, sits up and we see that she’s almost completely covered in sand.  She doesn’t know how she got there, her name or who she is as a person.  So she stumbles to her feet, dusts herself off and starts walking.  People are ignoring her (duh)  and when she finally makes it to a small watering trough, she looks into the water to see that her cornrows are pure white, one of her eyes is gold and the other is a black.  Other than that, she looks like how a 18 or so Egyptian girl would look at the time.
anyway, she looks up to see the moon and someone walks through while she’s distracted.  The walking through her startles her, she stumbles back, falls through a shadow and is gone.
Then there’s like a montage of all the other guardians becoming guardians, and she’s always either nearby or a slight trigger to it- like with Jack Frost’s, she’s the reason why the ice started cracking, and that’s why he fell in, because there were three people on the ice that day, even though it only looked like two.
Final jump to the events in Rise of the Guardians.  She’s changed outfits by now and is wearing black jeans, a black bomber jacket and lots of gold jewelry.  She’s chasing one of the nightmare’s in the same town that Jack is in (She likes keeping tabs on him and Sandman since those two move around the most and it’s more interesting than constantly fucking with the Yeti).  Anyway, over the course of this time, it’s clear that she doesn’t use her shadow traveling and so the nightmare gets away.
So she’s upset about the nightmare getting away, but before she can really do anything, she hears a yell, and looks to see that in the alley below her, the Easter Bunny is wig snatching Jack Frost (like how in the movie)  and right before the snow globe portal closes, she slips through invisibly.  She gets out of the way before anyone can see where she is and ends up shadow hopping to sit on the globe and watch shit go down.
Anyway, that scene happens, she accidentally outs herself as being there, it’s implied that she has bad blood with the Sandman, Jack Frost has never met her, Tooth Fairy just knows of her as like a cryptid and she’s halfway friends with Easter Bunny.
Anyway, Santa takes Jack to go have the talk (if you know, you know) and the other three guardians are like: “bitch, you need to go.”   And she’s like: ‘fuck no, im staying, this is the most interesting shit’s been in years.’
they try to subdue her, can’t lmao and so they get stuck with her as like a weird protector of the guardians.
So while this is going down, the Tooth Palace attack happens and she tags along, helping take out a few nightmares and she actually rides one until the Easter Bunny takes it out on accident and she ends up landing on a different level of the palace than the main guardians + Jack.
She hears the whole convo from down there and she also starts to see the crumbling from her vantage point and it looks like the foundation itself of the Tooth Palace is corroding.
That all happens, including the scene where Jack is like: “you shitheads had my memories the whole time?”
She’s the first one to pipe up and be like:  ‘It’s chill, I don’t have memories either, and look at me, 4000 years strong and I’m still not a Guardian.”
Whoop, there it is.
Teeth collecting montage, not much changes, except for the room scene before Sandman’s death, where it’s her, sandman and jack that are still awake.  She stays behind to wake everyone up, not realizing that the snowglobe slipped out of Santa’s pocket and rolled into the hallway...
She wakes them up, they all go out in time to do that cool fight scene and she watches sandman’s death from a closer point because she was shadow traveling through the nightmares, trying to get there in time.  She doesn’t and she almost gets KO’d by Jack Frost when he kills all the nightmares.
Funeral, once again, not much changes, although she has to take up a temporary role as the Sandman due to her powers being a weird cross of Sandman’s and Pitch’s.
The next part is as the Warren (Easter Bunny’s headquarters)  and she volunteers to go scout the tunnels ahead while everyone else is getting the eggs ready.   She gets mixed up and accidentally runs through a wall, landing in Pitch’s lair.
She doesn’t see the lil tooth fairies, because of her location, but Pitch taunts her with her fears and shows her a canopic jar made of corrupted sand.  He then explains that she was supposed to be the Sandman, and she was, for many years before she fought him in the desert, got half corrupted and Pitch stole her memories and name as a trophy.  That rightfully pisses her off and she almost KO’s him right then and there if it weren’t for Jack Frost showing up and Pitch going off to torment him while she runs around trying to get out.
She literally runs into Jack Frost, grabs him and shadow travels them out.  It weakens her, and she tells him to go and warn the other’s while she recoups. In reality, she kinda just passes out in the tunnel and by the time she wakes up, Jack Frost is gone, the Big Three thought she got offed like Sandman and so it’s an awkward funeral walk in moment.
She yells at them for being dumbasses, watches Easter Bunny shrink and is like: “Oh fuck, we need to figure something out because I now have personal beef with Pitch and you guys are on the verge of collapse.”
Pitch comes for his big victory, everyone realizes that Jamie won’t give up like the absolute piece of shit he is and so while the Big Three go to go save him, she sticks back and has a brief one on one fight with Pitch to stall, she almost wins, but gets hit by some blowback of her own powers and so Pitch runs and she has to follow, making her show up to the battle a bit after Jamie turns the first nightmare into pure sand.
There’s the fight scene, all the kids can see the Guardians, but not her because there’s no name to believe in, ergo she does not exist.
There’s this one moment in the film where Pitch rises up behind Jack Frost in the final battle, fully about to take him out with the scythe, but Sandman comes in time and saves him.
Here, our main character pushes Jack out of the way and takes the blow instead.  The second the scythe touches her, she’s gone, destroyed.  The Big Three and Jack Frost are upset and Pitch shows off the canopic jar to them, bragging and THAT’s when Sandman comes back.  Pitch loses control of the jar, Jack catches it and Santa takes it from him to keep it safe.
Once all of that is done and Jack Frost is a Guardian, etc, it goes to the last scene, where they’re having an actual funeral for her with the jar.  The funeral ends, Santa places the jar on a shelf and everyone walks away.  Except for Jack Frost and the Sandman.
Jack turns to Sandman is like: “She was cool.”
Sandman makes like the opening a jar motion and Jack Frost is kinda confused, but he realizes that since the jar is made of corrupted sand, Sandman can’t open it, but for some reason, he wants him to.
So he takes the jar and pops it open.  Inside there’s a single slip of papyrus.  Jack Frost grabs it, looks at the words on it, which have somehow shifted from their original hieroglyphs to English.
He reads the word outloud.
and from behind him and Sandman, a familiar voice says: “Took you long enough.”
~THE END~
I hope you enjoyed lmao, I wrote the original fic when I was a freshman in high school and while all my friends were dating, I was writing fanfic about a character that gave no fucks and was just there for the ride.  She didn’t even have a love interest, just a close platonic relationship with everyone by the end.
and yes the fic was stolen.  I even remember the girl’s name: Clair Deg** (im not trying to doxx her..)

Outlander: The Ballad of Roger Mac (5x07)
Boy howdy. Let's dive straight in to this one... I'm going to put everything under the cut so as to avoid spoiling stuff.
Cons:
If you've been reading my reviews all along, you'll know I've gone back and forth on how I feel Murtagh has been integrated into the story, since during these events in the books he is already dead. Now that we are saying goodbye to Murtagh's character, and I have a sense of his full arc on the show, I can make a firm ruling on how I felt he was utilized. Honestly, he didn't have a lot to do for a couple of seasons there, just sort of vaguely there in Ardsmuir, and then appearing only to constantly vanish and never really establish a role in the main story. I also think his romance with Jocasta was a total failure. I was not compelled by it at all. In fact, Murtagh being the kind of man willing to die for his principles makes it all the more frustrating that he'd have this relationship with a member of the landed gentry. Yes, Jocasta is Scots, but she's also a plantation owner, a slave owner, and a firm upholder of the status quo. They didn't really go into the implications of that, beyond the fact that it made their love story "forbidden" and "tragic." And as I've mentioned in the past, I don't have a lot of sympathy for Jocasta as a character.
All of that said, I did thing there were things about Murtagh's story-line, this season in particular, that really, really worked, and I'll talk about those in a moment.
We should talk about Roger, though, right? Why was this episode called "The Ballad of Roger Mac"? It ends on a cliffhanger (oof I feel insensitive even using the word "hanger" like that), and book readers will know what comes next. It just felt odd to name the episode for him when his plot is basically relegated to the background. This was Murtagh and Jamie's episode much more than it was Roger's. I also thought that the foreshadowing of Roger's doom was really heavy-handed. Showing him singing to Jemmy, and promising his son to come back and sing to him again... book readers, once again, have a unique reason to know why this whole thing is so ironic, but it didn't have the deft touch that one might have hoped. Also, the grief and pathos of Murtagh's death overshadows how we should be feeling about Roger. I'm not the biggest fan of Roger and Bree, especially in the show, unfortunately. But he was kind of given short shrift here, and it felt odd to name the episode for him when clearly it's next week that we'll be focusing on his character more. (I tried to write this whole paragraph without spoilers for the crowd who hasn't read the books... not sure how I succeeded!)
Pros:
I want to linger on the Roger situation a bit more, though, before moving on to other things. I did like his little side-quest, the way he went to find Murtagh and warn him that the Regulators were sure to lose - Brianna remembers the battle of Alamance from her school books. He gets to have utility here, gets to try and do right by his fellow country-men, and even though his mission is pretty much doomed to failure, it says a lot that Jamie is willing to trust him with it.
We also see him reunite with his ancestor Morag MacKenzie, and try to warn her about the coming fight. And... we meet William Buccleigh MacKenzie, the bastard child of Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan! Played again by the same actor who played Dougal, Graham McTavish, which I think is quite fun. I hate to keep saying "readers of the books will know," but readers of the books will know of this character's coming importance, so I think it's so awesome that Graham McTavish is back to play him. The connection between Roger and Morag is a strange and oddly intense one, for good reason. Roger knows he's speaking to his many times' great-grandmother. He is a man who lost his parents young, and longs for the connection of family. And Morag is reunited with the man who saved her life on Bonnet's ship, when she and her baby might have been thrown overboard. Of course they would feel a bond, and stupid Buck has to come along and misinterpret things, setting off all manner of trouble and heartbreak.
In the main plot, we've got the War of the Regulation coming to a head at Alamance. Tryon on one side, Murtagh on the other, with Jamie stuck in the middle. This is where I think Murtagh's continued presence on the show really worked well. The image of Jamie Fraser wearing the iconic Redcoat of the British army is really striking, and it works all the better when he comes face-to-face with his godfather in the woods. Jamie knows, and Murtagh knows, that in a couple of years they would have been fighting on the same side. Roger even reminds Murtagh of it. But Jamie has decided to set aside his principles for the sake of protecting his family, and Murtagh has decided he's alright with dying for his own beliefs. In this moment, right at the end, neither can truly blame the other for any of it. I really believe this is a well-written tragedy, at the end of the day. These two men, bonded by their love for each other and long life of friendship and loyalty, forced by circumstances to fight on opposite sides.
And Murtagh's last act on this earth is to protect Jamie Fraser, like he promised Ellen he always would. That's some heartbreaking stuff, yo. The way Jamie took Murtagh's body to Claire and begged her to heal him, wishing for a miracle, the way he yelled for her to do something, the way he told Murtagh he took it back, he won't release him from his oath, "you can't leave me"... all of this stuff just tugged at my heartstrings in the best way. And then Claire saying her quiet final goodbye, to the first true friend she met in the past. Murtagh is the one who saved her from Jack Randall in her first minutes in the 18th century. Their friendship spanned literal centuries, and I was almost more touched by Claire's grief than I was by Jamie's. Well, maybe it's a tie. Murtagh will be missed. This last episode was one of his strongest.
Lest we forget that this story is a romance between Jamie and Claire, we do get some cute moments lifted straight from the books, including the conversation about "taking stock" on Jamie's fiftieth birthday. (Holy shit does he not look fifty. Sam Heughan is ten years his characters' junior, and they might have done a bit more to reconcile that, in my opinion!) They have their cute banter about Jamie's parts all being present and accounted for, Jamie reflects quietly that he has now lived longer than his father ever got the chance to, and then Claire treats Jamie to a Marilyn Monroe-style happy birthday serenade, which was a lot of fun. We also got Jamie's promise to Claire that while they one day will be forced to separate, today is not that day. This proves to be true, although the day does bring other grief, of course.
Jamie's outburst to Tryon at the end of the fight was something I believe really was altered quite significantly from the books. It makes sense that in a TV show setting, you'd need to forego some of the subtle, nuanced stuff that can be portrayed in a novel. I think it quite worked for Jamie and Tryon to discuss how this battle is going to be remembered throughout history. Tryon insists he was restoring order and doing right by the law, while Jamie says "there is the law, and there is the way things are done." He knows that the slaughter of innocents, men just fighting for a cause, can never be right. He has known the bitter taste of being on the side of the oppressor, and you can really sense that his disgust is for himself as much as it is for Tryon, when he takes the redcoat off and throws it to the ground. This was a great performance from Heughan!
There are other things I could talk about, like Isaiah Morton's brief subplot, or Brianna's heroic ride to the camp to warn them that the Regulators are going to lose (which honestly - duh, but whatever, I'll let it go). But by and large, this was an episode about Jamie, and about Murtagh. I'm really excited to find out how they handle certain aspects of the plot moving forward, especially as regards our secondary leads Brianna and... well... let's all just tune in next Sunday to see what's next!

The Umbrella Academy/Merlin Crossover
Because I’m trash and I have to make everything a Merlin AU or crossover, and because @feelsextraordinaire and @msssstilinski are enablers. (Also, most of the details in here are straight from @msssstilinski‘s mind, that genius)
Children being born happened to bring back the Round Table, but something happened to change the outcome
It brings the Round Table and 36 other people from different parts of history
Luthor is Percival, obviously
When he was a child, he dreamed things: red cloaks, a house with the bodies of a woman and three small children, roasted chicken on a string, a white dragon
He never tells anyone about it
Merlin is immortal (duh)
He found Arthur when he was a baby and raised him
He couldn’t separate his friend from this child that he’s raising, so he took his own memories until Arthur either turns 21 or remembers for himself
Every other child that was born that day is from another period in time, but Reginald ended up getting all the children who impacted Merlin’s life the most
(I’m not saying that Merlin caused them all to be reborn because he was trying to bring back the people he cared about to stop the end of the world, but  Merlin caused them all to be reborn because he was trying to bring back the people he cared about to stop the end of the world)
Let’s start with Klaus (at the time, called Henry)
He was born around ‘38 and fought in Vietnam with Dave and Merlin
Klaus died only minutes after Dave did, and Merlin wished for the billionth time that he could die, too
People always thought Klaus and Merlin were brothers, so they eventually stopped correcting people
Klaus’s gravestone is right next to Dave’s (they couldn’t recover eithers body, but Merlin made sure they got remembered) and it says “Loving son and brother”
Five (Snatch)
He’s born in 1970 (he’s the closest to present times) and he dies at the same age he disappears in canon
He doesn’t remember what his name was when he was born, or if he even had one
An old homeless man (who was just as much of an asshole as Five himself) that Five always stole from called him a “dirty little snatcher” one day, and everybody just started calling him Snatch after that
He’s an orphan kid with a smart mouth that Merlin takes under his wing, because he reminds him just a little too much of Will (except wittier, lbr)
He probably dies after mouthing off to like a mob boss or something, honestly
Allison (Dorothy)
She dies in 1938, a few days before Klaus is born
She and Merlin bootlegged during the Prohibition together
They weren’t together, but they loved each other in the same way he and Gwen loved each other
She dies of illness
Ben (Eustace)
Ben is Merlin’s first friend after losing Camelot
He’s the only one of the Hargreeves to live to old age in their first life
They serve together in a war long before America was founded, and he’s the first person Merlin shows his magic to since Camelot
Merlin watches him wither away in old age like he watched Gwen, not aging and bitter that he has to go through this again and he’s reminded why he avoided people for so long, because this kind of heartache is hard to move on from (he keeps latching onto people anyways)
Diego (Edmund)
They also serve together, under Queen Elizabeth I
Serving is the only thing Merlin knows how to do, the only thing that keeps him distracted
Diego reminds Merlin of Arthur
Spain is invading and Merlin follows Diego into the thick of battle, right at the front lines, and he kills half the Spanish Armada when someone drives a sword into diego’s stomach
(once they all remember, Merlin and Diego’s reunion is as emotional as Arthur and Merlin’s)
Vanya
Vanya is the only one to not have a past life
She’s the deciding factor for the end of the world
Either she sides with Morgana, and the world is destroyed, or she sides with Merlin and Arthur, and the world is saved
And Morgana might have convinced her if Merlin simply hadn’t lived so long and seen so much
He sees how scared she is, he knows how it feels to have these intense destructive powers that are so hard to control, and he still has his compassion
He helps her and that makes all the difference
(he’s learned. He won’t make the same mistake he made with Morgana again)
She saves the world
And on the flip side…
All the Knights, Arthur, and Gwen have powers
Elyan (Kenneth) has fire powers
He can control fire, but he can’t create it himself, so he always carries around a lighter
Leon (William) can control sunlight, like Apollo
He still loves crossbows, and he’s fantastic at using them
Gwen (Gwyneth) can grow and control plants
She once choked a guy with a vine when he tried to cop a feel, what a legend
Lancelot (Lorenzo) has a power similar to Allison’s, except where Allison’s power is to control and force, Lancelot’s is to sooth situations
People call him The Mediator as a joke, because his power is so subtle it’s hard to detect when it’s being used and it took forever to actually figure out what it was
But then he de-escalated a fight between the two angriest people in school with a few words and it got a little more obvious
Gwaine’s (James, sometimes Jamie) power is survival
He can force himself to sleep when he needs it, power through without food, master any weapon put in front of him, and track animals and identify plants instinctively
Arthur has straight up, Camelot-era magic, because irony
He rarely uses it, though, because he has Merlin and he just doesn’t need it
Morgana (Lilith) has her magic
Mordred (Nolan) doesn’t, but he can read minds and communicate with people through mindspeak
Except he can only communicate silently with people from Camelot
Bonus
Will (Jack) comes back as well, because reasons
He was there when Gwen choked a guy with a vine, and it’s still his favorite moment ever
He can turn people’s powers against them, and can also absorb them for a short time. When Gwen lets the guy go, and he goes running, Will swats at him with the vine and rips his pants open
Double Bonus
Eudora lives, because reasons

What about Maddie or Jazz? Those Fenton girls, ya know?
(Maddie)
favorite thing about them:
she’s a smart and kickass mom who loves her family
least favorite thing about them:
can be a little too highstrung/stubborn at times
favorite line:
“i’m only gonna say this once… YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH JUMP SUITS?!”
brOTP:
the bond she has with her son danny is pretty sweet, especially in that “maternal instincts” episode
OTP:
jack x maddie, duh! ❤️
nOTP:
vlad x maddie… like come on dude, take no for an answer already, will ya? :/
random headcanon:
she actually knew jack from junior high, but then moved away with her family for the next few years. she and jack didn’t reunite until they coincidentally went to the same college together.
unpopular opinion:
the constant pinup/lewd art of her in the fandom can be pretty obnoxious to deal with… like does anybody actually like maddie for reasons outside of just her looks?? -_-
song i associate with them:
“somebody’s hero” by jamie o’neal
favorite picture of them:
Tumblr media
(Jazz)
favorite thing about them:
she’s such an adorable lil’ nerd who grew from a typical “stuck-up older sister” cliche to really appreciating her family enough to become a full-fledged hero. i’m so proud of her ❤️
least favorite thing about them:
sometimes she can be a bit too nosy/pushy in other people’s business… i mean her heart’s in the right place but sometimes you gotta set some limits, you know?
favorite line:
“we know something you don’t know~”
brOTP:
aside from the heartwarming bond between her and her brother danny, i also couldn’t help but enjoy the little friendship between sam and jazz that started to form in the later season episodes ^^ wish we could’ve seen that more.
OTP:
ghostwriter x jazz is always a classic for me~ 😊 (though i’ve warmed up a bit more to tucker x jazz in recent times too)
nOTP:
dash x jazz -_- ‘cause it’d totally be a good idea to date some arrogant idiot who relentlessly bullies your own brother at school… right?? 🙄 *sarcasm*
random headcanon:
one time she went to school decked out in goth clothes to try and “understand” her new friend sam (much to her embarrassment/annoyance)
unpopular opinion:
…umm, nothing really comes to mind, honestly lol
song i associate with them:
“belle” from disney’s beauty and the beast

Getting to Know You: Outlander Style!
I was tagged by @whiskynottea to answer these questions!
1.       How long have you been a fan of Outlander?
I think since the Fall of 2014… Maybe… I’m not totally sure!
2.       Have you read the books? If so, which ones?
I’ve read the main eight! None of the novellas, though.
3. Which is your favourite secondary character?
Young Ian. For sure.
4. What is your least favourite storyline?
France got a little boring for me.
5. Favourite episode(s)?
The Devil’s Mark. Definitely one of my favorite storylines!
6. The episode(s) you skip?
The Garrison Commander: it’s a bit boring.
Faith: Wonderful episode! I just have to be in the right state of mind to watch it…
Of Lost Things: Meh.
7. Be honest, how many times have you watched “The Wedding?”
Umm… Pass J
8. Finish the sentence: Frank Randall is _________.
Meh.
9. What’s your Outlander watching ritual?
I usually watch it at midnight by myself, and then with my mom the next day. That’s not weird, right?
10. Are you into shipping?
Not really. I have no problem with it, I’m just not into it.
11. Do you read Outlander fanfiction? If so, what’s your favourite?
DUH! I LOVE IT ALL. BRING ME MORE!
If you want to see a list of (fairly current) faves, click here!
12. What Outlander merchandise do you own?
I ordered a shirt, and I’ll post a pic when it comes in. It’s super cute!
13. Which was your favourite: Rupert or Angus?
Rupert, probably.
14. True or False: Lt. Jeremy Foster is a delicious cinnamon bun.
He deserved better. I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU!
15. If you were to attend a “fucking bar-b-que” with Geillis Duncan what would you order?
I just hope she’d like me enough not to poison my food…
16. What areas of interest has Outlander sparked for you?
It definitely let me get back in touch with the writer in me. It also got me interested in my own Scottish lineage, which was fun to explore.
17. Biggest plot hole in the show?
Geneva. Like, Jamie—super smart and clever—couldn’t think of a way to get out of that? I don’t believe that for a second.
18. Bree and Roger: Yay or Nay?
Yay. I’m a J/C girl, but R/B are precious in their own right.
19. Which JAMMF habit do you find endearing?
His inability to wink, but he does it anyway. What a dork.
20. Finish the sentence: Claire Fraser is _______________.
Queen.
21. Marry/Fuck/Kill: Dougal, Black Jack, Geneva.
That’s tough. Marry Dougal. Fuck Geneva. Kill Black Jack.
22. If you could change one thing about the show version of Outlander, what would it be?
More episodes, like in season 1. That way, they don’t have to make as many ridiculous cuts that probably should have stayed.
Also, I heard Laura Donnelly is not in season 4… I would change that.
23. Using one word for each, describe Season 1, Season 2 and Season 3:
Bloom. War. Adventure.
24. What are some of your other favourite shows/movies?
I’m more into shows than movies. Game of Thrones, The Handmaid’s Tale, A Discovery of Witches, Bob’s Burgers (One of these things is not like the others...)
25. Where are you from?
USA.
I don’t think you all have done it yet:
@sassenachwaffles @ladyviolethummingbird @suhailauniverse @sassenachwriter AND ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO!!

Spirit of Autumn - Chapter 4
North knew that if he didn’t do something about it soon, Bunny was going to have a fit. Jack was seated across from Scarlett at the dinner table while Scarlet was seated next to Tooth who wouldn’t stop hugging the girl. Bunny was seated at one end of the table with North at the other. Jack’s deep gaze on Scarlett was so intense and nonstop that it was only a matter of time before Bunny noticed.
The last thing North needed right now was a giant rabbit getting onto a certain winter spirit about messing with a certain autumn spirit. North cleared his throat.
“Say Jack,” he said, glad that the boy snapped out of his stare and looked at North, “Why don’t you and Scarlett go out for a bit while I discuss preparations with Bunny, Tooth and Sandy.” Scarlett beamed at Jack across the table which only ended in Jack’s face going a pale blue. Of course, none of the guardians or Scarlett had ever seen Jack blush… so when he blushed, instead of going pink… he went blue.
Of course, Scarlett was completely oblivious and just pushed her chair back and skipped away from the table, taking her plate with her to the kitchen.
Jack snapped his head in North’s direction the moment that Bunny hopped off to help Scarlett put dishes away.
“What is that all about?” he hissed.
North took on an innocent face, “What are you talking about?”
“Is it really necessary for the two of us to not be present while you four talk? We’re not kids!”
“Don’t you want to hang out with Scarlett?” North asked, noticing that Tooth was giving him a suspicious look, “If not, I can find Scarlett something to do and you can have some quiet time.”
Jack at once snapped his mouth shut. Of course, he wanted to hang out with the girl… but the thing was, he was too proud to admit it and too nervous to know what to do when he was hanging out with her. When he wasn’t around her, he craved her presence but the moment he had it, he was at a loss.
“No, it’s fine,” he said in a whisper, “I’ll go with her.” The boy rose to his feet and grabbing his staff, soared slowly out of the room towards the kitchen. When he was gone, Tooth and Sandy both eyed North. A question mark appeared above Sandy’s head.
“What?” North whined, “Can’t someone other than Cupid play match maker?”
Tooth snickered and began giggling like a little fangirl, “You’re right North! They’re so cute together! It’s so cute how Jack blushes when he’s around her!”
Sandy began signing above his head, but it was too fast for the two to understand. When Tooth was about to ask him to repeat, a voice spoke up.
“What am I oblivious about?”
The three snapped around to see Bunny and Scarlett standing there, having just returned from the kitchen to grab the other dishes.
“What are you talking about?” North asked, suddenly feeling nervous.
“Sandy just signed that I am oblivious about ‘it’. What’s ‘it’?”
North and Tooth internally gulped but Scarlett sensed that they weren’t going to tell her. Shrugging, she skipped over and grabbed the last plates before heading back into the kitchen while Bunny sat down with his comrades.
When Scarlett came skipping into the room, she found Jack sitting on the counter near the sink, one foot on the counter and the other dangling off while his staff rested over his shoulder. He was lazily tapping the water in the sink with his staff, making the water freeze and then unfreeze.
Scarlett walked over with the rest of the dishes and placed them in the sink. The water froze the moment that the dishes hit the water and Scarlett looked up to see that Jack was staring at her in shock.
“Sorry, did I spook you?” she asked, cringing.
Jack shook his head, “No… just surprised is all.” The girl smiled and then nodded towards the water, “Could you unfreeze the water? That way we can head out sooner than later?”
Jack snapped out of his daze and nodded, “Sorry.” With a tap of his staff, the water unfroze, and Scarlett soon had the dishes done. She dried her hands on the towel and turned to Jack.
“So, whatcha want to do?”
Jack rubbed his neck which he was quite sure was going a deep blue, “Um… I actually don’t know… I mean… now that I think of it all the fun, I have is making snowstorms and visiting Jamie.” “Who’s Jamie?” Scarlett asked.
“The first boy who believed in me,” Jack replied.
Scarlett’s face lit up, “You have people who believe in you!? That’s so cool! No one believes in me, but I don’t really mind. By the way, did Bunny and Tooth ever show you the view from the roof?” Jack shook his head and immediately the girl reached forward and grabbed his hand. Jack realized that his long pale fingers were much longer than hers, but that realization didn’t match the blue blush that attacked his cheeks.
“Come on!” Scarlett chirped.
Jack was surprised at how nimbly and quickly she scurried out of the kitchen and towards the window. For a guardian who didn’t fly, she was very light on her feet. Making a clean jump, she leapt onto the window and Jack flew after her. Jack was thinking she might ask him to fly her to the roof but instead she released his hand and jumped into midair.
Jack was about to jump after her to catch her when he saw the strangest thing. A platform of leaves had formed beneath the girl’s feet and was hovering in the air. The wind whipped around the girl almost like a protective cage. Her red hair whipped about in the wind and Jack felt his heart clench.
“Come on!” She called.
The wind carried her up to the top of the roof and Jack followed. When he landed barefoot on the snowy rooftop, the leaves and wind were gone and Scarlett was just standing there, staring off into the distance.
“Bunny and I used to sneak into North’s workshop when all of us were here and we would turn on the northern lights just so we could see them flashing across the sky. It was always so pretty when it was dark too,” Scarlett said, her eyes smiling.
Jack found himself smiling even though Scarlett was looking out at the vast landscape before them. Instinctively he looked away but slipped his hand to hers and gently laced his fingers with hers. He feared he was holding her hand too tightly, but he was afraid she would snatch it away. Out of the corner of his eye he saw her smile softly and his heart began to beat ten times faster when she gripped his hand back tightly.
Her hand was soft and smooth but neither warm nor cold… just normal. He mentally slapped himself, remembering that she was the Spirit of Autumn. Naturally she wouldn’t be ice cold like him nor hot like the Spirit of Summer.
Jack suddenly found his mind flashing away at that. Spirit of Summer naturally would be hot in terms of temperature… and the picture in the girl’s room depicted a rather good-looking young man… but it didn’t show much other than his face. Jack had never felt a need to be competitive (other than with Bunny about stupid things) but now he was suddenly doubting his own looks.
He didn’t realize that he had zoned out for a full five minutes till Scarlett drew her hand from his and began to wander off towards the huge chimney.
Jack watched as she gracefully jumped onto the chimney and glanced down. At the moment, there was no fire on at least in that fireplace. She began to walk around the frame of the chimney, swinging her arms and smiling happily. She just seemed so joyful all the time… kind of like how Tooth never stops being so girly and North is always so jolly and Bunny always sarcastic. Now that Jack thought about it, he was always goofing off or getting into mischief and Sandy… was always quiet (duh!).
“You know,” Jack said, not realizing that his voice was speaking for him, “You really fit in with the guardians.”
Scarlett turned and looked at him thoughtfully, “Why do you say that?” “Well not just because you are a guardian yourself but… you just even out the group. It’s kind of weird having all guys in the group other than Tooth… so you kinda even it out in that sense… also, you seem to bring out the best in everyone. Especially in Bunny and North. There are times when they aren’t as bubbly and jolly as they’re depicted in stories but when you’re here… they really are.”
A huge smile had spread across the girl’s face and now she was practically glowing, “That is the sweetest thing anyone has ever told me!”
Jack ducked his head and scratched the back of his neck nervously. He looked up to see that Scarlett was still smiling but had cupped her hands in front of her. Jack stared as he felt a soft breeze blow and a torrent of leaves blow towards the girl.
He knew she was commanding the wind and almost immediately it stopped… but a single green leaf landed in her palms. Reaching up with one hand, she touched the tip of the leaf with her finger and it began to change color from yellow to orange, to deep red. Finally, it was a deep maroon and she held it up in one palm.
She gently blew on it as if blowing a kiss and it fluttered to Jack. The winter Spirit caught it in his hand.
“As a thank you,” Scarlett explained.
Jack was sure his face was a deep blue now, “I’m afraid it might die.”
The girl smiled, “Couldn’t you frost it over?” Jack internally smacked himself for being so dense and quickly froze the leaf so that it was tinted with frost. It looked so pretty, bright red but crusted with white…. Kind of like their hair.
“A way to remember me by,” The girl said.
Jack lifted his eyes and looked at her, an earnest look in his blue eyes, “How will you remember me?” Scarlett just smiled and when a cold gust blew across the roof, she shivered and grinned, “That’s how Frostbite.”

Jersey- Jimmy Vesey
Tumblr media
Alright so while writing this, I realized how little I know about the Rangers (I'm a Devils girl sorry). I mean I know key players, but yeahhhh... Anyway! So anon I hope I did Jimmy justice! And I hope you all like it! Let me know what you think!
Warning: alcohol
Anon request: Can you do a jimmy vesey imagine where you two meet at a charity event
~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/
You shifted uncomfortably in the dress you were wearing. You weren't really quite sure how you ended up at the New York Rangers Casino Night.
              Ok that wasn't true.
Your ex-boyfriend bought you tickets to go before you caught him cheating on you. It was only fair that you, the only Rangers fan in the relationship, got to keep the tickets in exchange for his balls.
He seemed to agree rather easily.
So here you were, contemplating the brilliantness of coming to an event like this alone and wearing a dress that was nice to look at, but let's be honest, you were totally a jeans and jersey kind of person.
You took a sip of your drink, the liquid making a trail of slow burn down your throat.
"That surprises me," a voice interrupted your thoughts. You gulped and looked to your left, tilting your head back to meet his dark eyes. "The Jack?" He tipped his head to your glass. "I would have expected a woman of your beauty to be sipping wine."
"To be honest, I'd rather have a beer," you replied. He chuckled.
"May I?" he asked. You gestured to the seat next to you and watched as the man next to you ordered a drink from the bartender as he sat.
"Holy crap!" you blurted when you realized who was sitting next to you. "You're Jimmy Vesey!" His eyes crinkled and he tipped his tumbler glass towards you.
"That I am. And you are...?"
"Oh shoot! I'm sorry! I'm (Y/N)." You shook hands with the rookie Ranger.
              "Rangers fan?"
"Duh," you replied. He grinned. "I only own like six jerseys and season tickets."
"Really? Your husband must be a lucky guy," he said sipping his drink. You laughed loudly.
"Husband. You're funny. Single as a Pringle," you chirped. Then blushed hard.
Did you seriously just tell the hottest Ranger you were single as a Pringle?
Jeez no wonder you were single!
"That's cute. I like it," he said with a wink. You grinned at him. "In case you're wondering I am as single as you are." You choked on the drink you had taken.
"Are you trying to kill her, Ves?" Chris Kreider asked as he came up behind you too. "She's too pretty to kill."
"No he's fine," you said waving Kreider off. "Just surprised me is all."
"Well, if you want a man instead of a kid-"
"I'll go find Lundqvist," you interrupted. Jimmy laughed as Kreider pouted. Kreider was pulled away as a fan wanted to chat with him, leaving you alone with Jimmy once more.
"Lundqvist kinda girl, eh?" You leaned towards Jimmy, who leaned close to you as well, as if you were telling him a secret.
"Two of those six jerseys are his." Jimmy leaned back and laughed. You grinned and took another sip of your drink.
"Oh yeah? And who do those other four belong to?"
"Messier, Richter, McDonagh, and..." you trailed off.
              "And?" Jimmy prompted. You shrugged.
              "Kreider."
              "What?" Jimmy laughed. You grinned.
"I haven't gotten around to a Vesey one yet," you replied with a wink.
"Well let's up my chances of you getting one." He jumped off his stool and held out his hand for yours. You took the last swig of Jack and set the glass down before taking his hand and gracefully (or as gracefully as you could in heels) slid to the ground. Jimmy put your hand in the crook of his elbow and led you through the crowds to the large poker table. He tapped a man on the shoulder and when the man turned, your mouth dropped open.
"Oh my god you're Henrik Lundqvist" you breathed.
"Hank, this is my new friend, (Y/N). She owns two of your jerseys."
"It's nice to meet you, (Y/N)," Henrik said, holding out his hand for you to shake. You dropped Jimmy's arm and shook his hand. Jimmy quickly pulled your hand back into the crook of his arm. You squeezed it gently in thanks. "Do you want to join us?"
"Oh no. I don't know how to play poker" you said shaking your head.
"We were just going to go get something to eat, actually" Jimmy replied to his teammate. Henrik nodded.
"Wait! We were?" you asked, looking at Jimmy. He grinned down at you.
"Yeah. Let's jet." You waved to Henrik as Jimmy pulled you from the venue, slipping past his coach and all the fans who had gathered. "Any preference?"
"Nope, but just letting you know, I totally cabbed here."
"Me too. Come on." He led you down the street, your arm still in his. "This place reminds me so much of Boston."
"Are you from Boston?" you asked. To be honest, you knew he wasn't. You wouldn't call yourself a stalker per say, but his twitter and Instagram were great.
"Not exactly, but I went to Harvard, so it's almost like I lived there. The guys and I would go bar hopping there." You laughed.
              "Sounds fun."
"I'd suggest we do that now, but I can't. So how about this?" Jimmy swept his hand across a diner that was open. You grinned at him.
"Only if I can get a milkshake."
"I think I can splurge on a milkshake" he said with a laugh. He led you inside and you slid into a booth in the corner. You both laughed and talked, learning all about one another over milkshakes and burgers.
"Hey listen" Jimmy said. "I get tickets for family and friends if I want them and, well, we have a game Monday night..."
"Hey. I don't need the ticket, remember" you said with a wink. "But I will cheer you on."
"Right. Season tickets and two Lundqvist jerseys." He shook his head laughing. "I'll get you a pass to meet me by the locker afterwards. Maybe we could go to a late dinner after?"
"I'd like that" you said smiling.
~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/
You stood by the glass, the sign in your hands. As the boys skated out for warm ups, you held it up. Kreider tapped Jimmy on the back before pointing at your sign. Jimmy skated over and laughed.
'I bought one!' the sign exclaimed. You had your jersey on backwards so he could see the 'Vesey' and 26 on it. He laughed and tapped the glass with his knuckles.
"Good luck!" you yelled. He grinned.
"See you after!" he yelled back. You stepped back and he took off. As you made your way to your seat, you turned your jersey around.
Time to cheer your boy on.
~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/~/
Ok so I thought that came out cute. Yeah? No? Let me know what you think! Up next: Jamie Benn, four different Andre prompts, and Michael Latta! Also I’m trying to work on a schedule to get stuff up (it’s hard with my job) but I’ll let you guys know when I get something!

When Jackie next opened his eyes he wasn’t where he remembered being last. Where was the warm sand and sunshine? This place was cold and damp, perhaps a cave? He looked up and saw several worried faces looking down at him.
“Hey guys,” Jackie breathed, giving them a pained smile.
“That was stupid,” Anti said bluntly, causing Marvin to hit his arm slightly.
“Yer stupid…” Jackie retorted, sticking his tongue out at Anti. Anti stick his out back.
Marvin scooter closer to the little hero. “Well I thought you were really brave!” Jameson moved closer too, nodding vigorously.
“Thanks Marv…” Jackie said before he gave a sudden yelp. He looked down at who was yanking his tail and saw Henrik wrapping strands of seaweed around his injury.
“Do not move so much Jackie or I cannot work!” Schneep chided. Jackie sat up slightly to see what he was doing.
“How do you know how to do that Henrik?” Henrik seemed to flush and looked away while he tied knots into the makeshift band aid.
Marvin paused before looking at Henrik. “You were watching the white suits again, weren’t you?” The tense silence from Henrik seemed to answer to question.
Anti balled up his little fists and glared at Henrik, failing to keep his voice down. “You must have been the one to bring them here! They took Jack because of you!!”
“No!!” Schneep shouted, “I could not have possibly! I was very sure that I kept my distance and was not seen!”
Jamie moved to calm down Anti who was trying to keep angry tears out if his eyes. Jackie looked at Henrik with sad eyes.
“We keep telling you it’s dangerous to watch them Henrik…”
“Well you should be thanking me. If I had not watched them you would be bleeding very badly right now because of your little stunt,” Henrik mumbled as he checked over his handiwork. Jackie didn’t have a good retort for that.
He looked around the cave as Schneep moved over to Jamie and started work on his arm. The little reaper saw Chase huddled up in a corner, looking very distraught. Marvin swam over to him and put his hand on his shoulder.
“Chase? Are you okay?”
Chase was mumbling and gripping his hair, tears spilling down his face. “This is all my fault.. I-I’m the oldest, I’m supposed to p-protect you all b-but I just hid and Jamie and J-Jackie got hurt and jack-!” He couldn’t contain his sobs and cried into his tail. Marvin and Jackie exchanged sad looks before Jackie slowly swam over.
“It’s not your fault Chase. We had no idea the white suits were coming.”
“But I should have done something! I just immediately swam! I didn’t even t-think to help…”
Marvin chimed in, “Hey I hid too and so did Henrik. We were all scared, it’s okay Chase…” He rubbed comforting circles onto Chase’s back.
“I just wish I could have been brave like you…” Chase whimpered. Jackie playfully punched him in the arm. “Hey bravery just comes with my dna, bro. Reapers are protective!”
Chase didn’t seem to find much comfort in this though and he curled up further into a ball, shoulders shaking. Jackie awkwardly rubbed his shoulder before swimming away and letting Marvin handle their brother.
He came to the little huddle where Anti, Jamie and Schneep were. He plopped down right by Anti as Schneep finished wrapping Jj’s arm in sling made from more seaweed. Jameson silently thanked Henrik with a nod.
“So…” Jackie started, “What’s the plan now?”
“ We find Jack, bring him home and beat the shit out of the white suits. Duh.” Anti grumbled, crossing his arms.
Jackie rolled his eyes.
“Okay, yeah, that. But how? We don’t even know where they took him. They could be down in the lava zone or something and only you and Marv can go down there!”
“Then we split up and do anything to get him,” Anti answered quickly.
“No absolutely not!” Schneep snapped, “We need to stay together or the white coats could take us too!”
“Well we can’t just sit around and do nothing Schneep!!” Anti yelled looking ready to nip at Henrik.
Jackie looked sadly at his tail and back at his distraught older brothers behind him. “We just might have to, Anti… we have no leads, no idea where he is and no way to fight the white suits right now. We’re still too small. I can’t even get these freaking things to work.” Jackie looked at his back in frustration, glaring at his mandibles.
Jameson looked down at his hands, a defeated look on his face. Anti squeezed his eyes shut and took a shaky breath, trying to keep from crying.
“He can’t just be gone…”

Not Gone
I also wanted to re-post my “end of run” ramblings. It’s been a year, and this show still has a special place in my heart. It’s truly not gone.
For my last entry in this series, I thought I’d share a collection of some of my favorite Spring Awakening related memories from these past few months. This entry will be a bit more of a hodgepodge than the others so I wanted to apologize right up front if it seems disjointed. I suspect it will also be very long. You’ve been warned!
Best overall show experience:
Now, obviously, Closing Night has this award locked up. But there’s another night that I want to preserve and remember in this little online journal of mine. As far as incredible audiences go, it comes in at a very close second. Let me set the scene. On Thursday, December 10th, one of the Spring Awakening cast members tweeted that all fans should do their best to attend that next night’s (Friday, December 11th) ticket lottery. We were promised we would not regret it. He didn’t come out say that something special was happening, but he heavily implied it. He also shared a link to a Facebook post written by a guy named Jamie Grayson. The post was about how much he, Jamie, loved theater growing up, but that when he was younger he couldn’t really afford to go see the shows that he wanted to see, but now that he was older and had made a name for himself, he wanted to give back by giving fans the opportunity to see Spring Awakening. Then the post encouraged fans to attend Friday’s ticket lottery because he had “a few surprises in store for us” that night. So, naturally, I went. Unsurprisingly, I wasn’t the only one.
The ticket lottery that night was more crowded than I’d ever seen. (this was, of course, before closing night) Now I’m not a crowd size expert, but I’d say there were easily 300 people there. When the time had come to draw the winners’ names, the crowd had completely filled the sidewalk and had spilled out rather far into the street. At 6:30 on the dot, the lotto girl climbed up on her step ladder and started yelling instructions through her megaphone. She first went into her well rehearsed speech about how the Spring Awakening lottery was the first on Broadway to be done in both ASL and spoken English as the man next to her signed for the crowd. She then announced that this lottery was unlike any they’d had before. She explained that Jamie Grayson had loved the show so much that he wanted to make it possible for fans to see it, for free. So he’d bought out the entire lottery (all 28 tickets) plus 12 more for a grand total 40 tickets. The winners, she explained, wouldn’t be getting discounted tickets; instead they would get to see that night’s show for free. Well, with that announcement, the crowd went nuts. Who doesn’t love good news? After sharing this exciting development, she quickly began calling out names. When the last winner’s name was called, I hadn’t won, but I wasn’t feeling too bad because it had been a fun lottery experience. Besides, I knew I could just try again another day. But, then, the lottery girl told the crowd to stay put for a second. She got down from her ladder to consult with one of her colleagues. She then got back up and told us that the box office had just gotten a call from the show’s producer, Ken Davenport. Mr. Davenport had been so moved by what Mr. Grayson had done, that he had decided to release any available seats that night for the lotto price of $35. In short, the entire crowd had just won the ticket lottery. With this announcement, the crowd really went nuts. People were cheering, strangers were hugging, it was an incredible moment!
I won’t go into too much of what that show was like because I would just be repeating a lot of what I’ve already said about Closing Night. There were many similarities between the two. That night, just like Closing Night, the theater was full of incredibly enthusiastic fans. I sat next to a lovely group of students from Wagner College, Alex Boniello’s alma mater. They’d all been to see the show multiple times, and were thrilled to get to see it under such unique circumstances. The audience’s response to the show that night was a lot like Closing Night, the applause breaks were long and enthusiastic. I don’t want to go into all of that again, but there is one last moment I’d like to share. Just like during Closing Night, after the cast performed Totally Fucked, the crowd jumped to its feet to give them a standing ovation. Being in the 6th row of the orchestra, I had a pretty good view of the faces of each cast member. So I was able to see, as the standing ovation went on and on, as everyone in that audience had their hands raised in the air to applaud in ASL, I was able to see that one of the deaf actresses, Amelia Hensley, was crying. It struck me, in that moment, how amazing this must all be for the deaf members of this cast. To receive a standing ovation in their own language, from a Broadway audience, that must have been an incredible feeling. In an industry where they must receive one “no” after another, this moment, this moment was a resounding “yes!”
Best show companion
One of the great things about seeing this show multiple times has been meeting other fans. It’s great to have people you can team up with for the lotto (double the odds of winning) but it’s even better to have people you can text at 3am because you want to discuss tree symbolism, compare cues you’ve noticed, or share crazy stage door experiences you’ve had. Though I’ve met and seen the show with many great new friends, I think my favorite show companion has been my brother. I wanted to give him a special shoutout as I bring this series to a close because he has weathered my Spring Awakening obsession like a real trooper. He has seen the show with me not once, not twice, but three times. He’s also listened to me blather on about how much I love this number or that actor’s interpretation. He’s also been super cool whenever I’ve sent him behind the scenes videos that the cast has posted on Periscope, or Snapchat, or Instagram, or YouTube. In short, my brother has put up with a lot these past few months. I think I may have turned him into a Spring Awakening fan by sheer force of will. Well, that and he has excellent taste in music. So thank you, Jack, for putting up with my unique Spring Awakening brand of crazy. Now I just need to get you in to see Hamilton! J
Best show-related event
In addition to performing 8 shows a week, the cast of Spring Awakening has put on or taken part in a variety of activities in and around town to promote the show. They appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the performed at the White House, they hosted an Ovation Series panel discussion at The Strand, and they performed a concert at 54 Below. It’s this last even that I want to talk a bit about. For those who don’t know, 54 Below is a cabaret club in midtown Manhattan. It’s a great place to see Broadway performers try out new material while having a nice meal. On January 3rd the cast performed two evening shows and as the later one was cheaper, that’s the one I attended. It started at, wait for it, 11:30pm; on a Sunday night! Those who know me know that that is ridiculously late for me, but trust me when I say the show was worth it. Almost the entire cast performed a number, and the best part was that each performance was sung and also signed. Each hearing cast member teamed up with a deaf cast member to perform a song. Some chose Broadway songs, others chose pop songs, and several in the cast, who happen to be singer songwriters, chose to perform songs they’d written.
Here are my favorite numbers from the night (in no particular order):
1)      Krysta Rodriguez and Ali Stroker singing Boom Clap by Charlie XCX with Josh Castille interpreting for them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGazeWeeje8)
2)      Sandra Mae Frank and Josh Castille signing along to I Think I Got You Beat from Shrek the Musical (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiWsixkxTLA)
3)      Austin McKenzie singing and signing Valerie by Amy Winehouse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MK8_AhZCB4)
4)      Sean Grandillo singing Love Yourself by Justin Bieber with Ren interpreting (hilariously) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh6lSd5arpY)
5)      The cast performing Song of Purple Summer (with Sean Grandillo hilariously trying and failing to sign along) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--UE0XLlfkk)
It should also be noted that Alex Wyse hosted the entire event and performed a number of his own. While his performance of Better Than I by John Bucchino was excellent, Alex’s best contribution to the event, in my opinion, was a joke he told at the top of the show. You need to understand that one of the running jokes in the Spring Awakening fandom was about cast member Andy Mientus and how much older he was than the rest of the cast. Now while this was not actually true, he’s in fact close in age to several members of the cast, it was something that he was a little sensitive about so that made it something the cast liked to tease him about. In a loving way, of course. So at the top of the show, Alex said, “You guys, I know you’re sad that Andy isn’t performing tonight. He really wanted to be here to sing for all of you. But they have strict rules about curfew at the nursing home.” Game, set, and match to Mr. Alex Wyse.
Notable Stagedoor experiences
I hate getting my playbill signed at the stagedoor. I like the end result, having a keepsake to help remember an incredible night of theater, but the actual process is the worst. Let me set the scene, you exit the theater after seeing a show, fight the crowds to secure yourself a spot near the stage door, spend several moments agonizing over what you should say if the Broadway star you’re wanting to see actually comes out to sign. Should you say anything at all or just hold your playbill in their face? No, that would be rude. You have to say something, but what? “You were incredible!” Duh! They know already know that! What about listing every single thing you love about their performance? No! That won’t work. First, you’ve only got about 10 seconds to say something if they stop and talk to you at all, and second, you don’t want to sound like a crazy person. So what about, “Thank you.  That was a fantastic performance. I loved the show!” That sounds reasonable. Not too long, but not too short. Then you can hand them your playbill, smile, and it’s all over and done with. Only once you’ve simultaneously psyched yourself up to say something and calmed yourself down so you don’t say or do something idiotic, then suddenly find yourself face to face with the actor or actress whose talent you so admire, and all your best laid plans to come off as a mature, intelligent, and sane person go right out the window! So yeah, I had stagedoored a few shows before Spring Awakening, and while I was (and am) glad to have those signed playbills, I don’t exactly look back on those experiences fondly. (I made such an idiot of myself in front of Josh Gad)
I will say, that while stagedooring is still not a favorite activity of mine, it did get a bit easier for Spring Awakening. The first time I stagedoored was, I believe, the second time I saw the show. I wanted to have the entire cast sign my playbill so that I could have it has a keepsake. I practiced signing, “Thank you. You were wonderful,” before the cast came out so I felt pretty confident that I wouldn’t say or do anything embarrassing. I mostly succeeded. I didn’t say anything terribly interesting or profound, but I didn’t make a fool of myself either. The second time I stagedoored, it was Halloween. I decided to give it a go for two reasons. First, I wanted to ask a member of the cast a question, and second, I was curious to see what everyone would dress up as for Halloween. Well, the best costume went to Ali Stroker and Andy Mientus, hands down. Andy went as Elliot and Ali went as ET, I saw a picture of them at the party they attended right after, and he was pushing her around in a shopping cart instead of in her wheelchair. So that part was fun, but the question asking proved disastrous. You see, I was asking a question for a friend, and when the actor, after answering my question asked if I wanted to take a selfie, I couldn’t think of a way to say no that wouldn’t hurt his feelings so what resulted was the world’s most awkward selfie. He’s smiling happily, and I look like I’m being tortured.
So after Halloween, I swore I was done with the stagedoor. I had my signed playbill, and I was good. But as I started making friends with other fans, I started getting invited to stay after shows and stagedoor. Turns out, a lot of people do it just for fun. This revelation rocked me to my core, because stagedooring for me had always been the opposite of what I would call fun, but I was curious to see why others enjoyed it so much. So I tagged along and after observing the pros, I’ve picked up a few stagedooring tips. Follow any one of these, and even if you’re most awkward person on the planet, you can make it through a stagedoor experience unscathed. You might even have fun.
Tip #1 – Bring a pet. A fan buddy of mine would sometimes bring her dog to the stagedoor. Now, for this to work, you have to live nearby as pets are obviously not allowed in the theater. But if you can bring your pet, do it. Cast members will stop and want to play with or cuddle your pet. This will give you a little extra time to think of something to say if you’re feeling up for it. If not, a cute pet can completely remove the awkwardness from any awkward silence, freeing you up to simply smile and hand the cast member your playbill.
Tip #2 – Be the photographer. Find a stagedoor buddy who loves having his or her picture taken with cast members, and then volunteer to be their photographer. That way you can happily stand there and take their picture, while not having to worry about saying a single thing the entire time. This is the perfect stagedoor hack for those feeling especially nervous or shy. You literally don’t have to say a thing apart from, “1,2,3, smile!”
Tip #3 – Avoid the crowd. One of the worst ways to stagedoor is from the middle of a crowd of screaming fans. Avoid this at all costs. The cast will typically exit the stagedoor and then move either right or left away from the theater, signing playbills as they go. So, the best thing to do is find out which way they typically go (left or right) and then go that way. Go down to where the line of fans thins out. The actors have to pass by you eventually because, at some point, they have to go home, and it’s much better to be as far from the maddening crowd as possible. This is a great strategy for those feeling brave enough to strike up a conversation. There’s less pressure to get your question out in 10 seconds as there aren’t screaming girls shoving you from behind. Usually, there are just a few people at the end of the stagedoor line, and they tend to be much more relaxed. I actually managed to have a few decent conversations with cast members by employing this particular strategy.
Tip #4 – Bring something. Now, this can quickly get out of hand, so keep in mind the three S’s: small, sensible, and sincere. If you’re an artist, drawing a picture is always nice. Or if words are more your medium, you can write a cast member a letter. On Halloween, a fan made little bags of candy to give out the cast, and they really seemed to enjoy that. But don’t go overboard. I doubt a cast member would appreciate a life-size bust of his or her head sculpted from a block of real Wisconsin cheddar cheese. Even if the cast member is from Wisconsin and loves cheese, no one wants something like that.
On Closing Night, I wrote out little thank you notes for the cast. I stayed after at the stagedoor to hand them out. I took my own advice and stationed myself down towards the end of the line, and, you know what? I had an okay time. I was able to hand out my cards, say thank you in person, and get everyone who came out that night to sign my copy of the play. The best signer that night, hands down, was Alex Boniello. Under composer Duncan Skeik’s name, Alex wrote, “is nice” with a smiley face before signing his own name. The most simultaneously uncomfortable and sweet moment came when I gave Russell Harvard his thank you note. He took it, I signed thank you, he signed my copy of the play, and just as he turned away and I was starting think that I’d successfully completed another exchange, he leapt forward and hugged me. Now, anyone who knows me knows I am not a fan of hugging. Especially hugging people I don’t know. But while this made me a little uncomfortable, it was also a really sweet moment. Here was an actor, overcome with the emotion of closing night and the outpouring of support from fans of the show, saying thank you in his own way. Even I can be okay with that.
Well, we’ve come to the end of my Spring Awakening series. Spring Awakening will always be my favorite musical, and I know I’ll always treasure the memories of being in the city and getting to experience so much surrounding the Deaf West revival. I hope you’ve enjoyed my ramblings!

Chapter 11: Meeting Jamie
“Jack, are you sure about this?” Nathalie frowned nervously from atop her Pegasus. The horse, sensing her anxiety, tossed its mighty head with a whinny, its mane rippling like thick cloth as it stamped a hoof against the concrete road in the quite Maine neighborhood. Following her recovery in the Tooth Palace, Nathalie had been shuttled to North’s Arctic workshop in a desperate exercise to try and keep Pitch Black from locating her again; the elves and yetis could only amuse the energetic Jack for so long. While he had been poking around looking for something to entertain him, he had spontaneously decided to pay a visit to the sleepy little town where his beloved friend Jamie resided. Nathalie had vaguely recalled mention of the little boy during their first meeting. “North will not approve of our sneaking out,” she fretted, “and this is where you first spotted Pitch, correct? What if he decides to attack us again? The little boy will be caught up in the crossfire…”
“It’s all right, Nat,” the frost spirit replied reassuringly as he sidled up to the horse’s flank to offer her a hand. As she took it, trying to ignore the prickling pain that bloomed across her palm and fingers from the ice crystals settling there, she slid down from the horse’s back. “It was Jamie and his friends that helped defeat Pitch last time. He knows better than to show his face around here.” The confident smile on his face eased her nerves a little, but only just. Compulsively, she smoothed down the creases in the fabric of her dress, looking down. She gasped lightly as his finger caught the underside of her chin, tilting it back up so his ice-crystal ice could meet hers of summer leaves. “Promise. You worry so much, you know; can you just enjoy this? For me?”
Nathalie’s shoulders sagged as she breathed out a loving sigh. He is doing this all for me, she thought with a swelling heart. Nathalie had been basically a nervous wreck the entirety that they had been in contact, between keeping her secret and the looming threat of death, so of course there had been little time to actually enjoy herself. For his sake, she took a deep breath while pushing back the flood of nervous energy writhing inside of her. She deserved at least a few moments of respite; it couldn’t hurt. Jack smiled sunnily as she opened her eyes to nod encouragingly at him. “Atta girl. Now, come on!” he grinned as he pranced over to the sidewalk and hopped over a wooden fence.
Her Pegasus snorted and meandered into the neighboring yard to begin munching on the grass; it was as invisible as she, considering humans no longer believed in such creatures, so Nathalie didn’t give much thought to hiding him. She followed after Jack, creating a stairway in the form of a twisted, gnarled tree that curved in an extreme spiral and whose trunk could easily bear her weight. She skipped over its uneven, bumpy surface, the soles of her bare feet causing new branches to bud, before she hopped down from the top of the fence. As the wind rushed into the skirt of her dress, she hastily pressed down the front to preserve some of her modesty, but the sides fluttered up around her thighs and gave much more of a show than she would’ve pleased. When she looked up with a red face, she saw Jack leaning against the siding of the house, arms crossed and looking like he had thoroughly enjoyed it. Has he not matured at all in four hundred years?! She thought incredulously, face burning like the surface of the sun itself. His smirked widened at her obvious fluster. Apparently not. Nat didn’t know what was worse; his reaction or the fact that she kind of enjoyed it.
“Ah-ahem, Jamie?” she reminded him with a polite cough.
“Oh, right, duh,” he sputtered with a slight jerk and light blush. He whipped away from the wall to pick up a small pebble, then turned around and chucked it at the second-floor window. A second later, the bottom pane was flung up and a toothy, messy-haired young boy was sticking his head out.
“Hey! Jack!” When he flashed the teenager a bright grin, Nat giggled; the fact that he was missing a tooth made him all the more adorable. “I’ll be right down!” he shouted down and his tousled head disappeared back into the room. Nat winced as she heard quite a lot of painful-sounding thumps and bangs, followed by the boy’s irritated yelps. She could even hear his little feet pounding through the house as he descended the stairs and careened through the halls to come bursting out of the front door, panting heavily from excited exertion and shoes flopping, untied on his feet. “Jack! Where’ve ya been? I missed you!” he squealed as he flung himself at Jack from several yards away.
“Whoa!” Jack cried, having to dip far forward to keep Jamie from face-planting into the dirt. The boy only giggled ecstatically as Jack enveloped him in a tight, crushing hug. Unseen by Jamie, Nathalie smiled heartwarmingly at the scene; the purely happy smile that was alighting Jack’s pale face was plenty testament to how special the little boy was to him.
After a minute of embracing, Jack pulled back and rested his hands on either of Jamie’s shoulders. “Jamie, I got someone I want ya to meet.”
“Ooh? Who is it? Who is it? Oh my God, it’s March, is it a leprechaun?” he screamed, jumping up and down so vigorously that one of his loose shoes actually did fling off and shoot into one of the rosebushes. “Oops.”
“No, it’s not the leprechaun! Calm down and just let me tell you!” Jack laughed while rowdily trapping him in a headlock and drilling his fist into the top of Jamie’s head to further muss his already messy hair. Jamie obviously was in no sort of pain, because he squealed in laughter and kicked out his legs wildly, clutching onto the muscle of Jack’s bicep with repeated giggles of “Okay, okay!” Arm still slackly wrapped around his little neck, Jack crouched down a little to whisper in his ear before gesturing with his chin in Nathalie’s direction. She flushed lightly and made sure she was presentable, tucking in any stray hairs and smoothing down her dress again, before straightening her back and smiling with all the grace of a queen. Jamie blinked a few times, trying to process whatever Jack had uttered in his ear before his eyes went as wide as dinner plates.
“Woooooowww! You’re so pretyyyyyyy!” he cooed in utter delight. Nathalie chuckled shyly and swept a swathe of her blonde hair behind her ear.
“Why, thank you, Jamie.”
“You know my name?!”
“Of course. I was very excited to meet you.”
“Oh, boy, oh, boy! Show me what you can do? Please, please, please?!” he begged, writhing around in Jack’s grasp for a few moments before the teenager released him. He landed on his bum in the grass, but he lost no momentum; he immediately scrabbled to his feet, smearing grass stains over his one socked foot as he ran over to her excitedly. He circled her obsessively, running his hands over the silken fabric of her skirt and fingering the curled ends of her golden-blonde hair and exclaiming in awe at the quiver and bow strapped to her back. “You’re an archer? That’s so awesome!”
“He’s an excitable one,” Nat mused to Jack, who was watching the giddy boy with a warm, brotherly smile.
“Yep. Never a dull moment with Jamie.”
The boy had grabbed a piece of chalk lying discarded in the grass to zip over to the fence, drawing various targets into its surface while begging her to display her shooting prowess. Nathalie snickered in amusement, but his enthusiasm was quite infectious; she crossed the yard to stand at the side of the house, the maximum distance away from the targets, before removing her bow and notching an arrow into its taut string. She tossed her head to throw the hair on her right side away from her dominant arm, breathed in deeply to center herself, then pulled the arrow back over her shoulder to take aim. Her eyebrow quirked slightly as she noticed Jack shamelessly gawking at her arm muscles again. He has no subtlety when it comes to checking me out, does he? She thought wryly. Well, if Jack and Jamie wanted a show, by all rights, she should give them one.
When Nat released the string, the arrow blasted from the bow to embed itself arrowhead-deep into the center of the first target, and trawling ivy began to twist and writhe into existence at its core. No sooner had the arrow left her bow did she nock another and send it screaming towards the next target; Jamie and Jack stood slack-jawed as she rapidly hit all seven targets in a matter of seconds, each arrow perfectly finding its mark and leaving the fence smothered in interlocking green leaves of ivy. A little smug, she even curtsied.
“That was unreaaaaaaaaal!” Jamie howled vivaciously once his brain had regained its ability to form words. Nat laughed and returned her bow to its rightful place, then walked to the fence to begin digging the arrows out of the wood. “Jack, you’re girlfriend is amazing!” In an instant, Nathalie and Jack had identical blushes blazing across their shocked faces. As they both turned their backs to the puzzled little boy, both shielding their faces with their hands, he looked between them repeatedly. “What? Did I say something wrong? I thought you guys were, y’know—"
“You’re right, Jamie, but it’s still kinda embarrassing,” Jack groaned. Of course, he was right; after all, she and Jack had spent pretty much the entirety of yesterday afternoon cuddling and exchanging sweet nothings and occasionally little kisses, but… Nathalie’s brains apparently had not truly registered their association as boyfriend and girlfriend. A mixture of mortified and overjoyed, she peered through her slender fingers at the white-haired boy, who was grinning shyly at her while rubbing the back of his neck. As their eyes met, his expression melted into one of undeniable affection, and her heart twisted into a happy little knot in her chest. My… boyfriend…
“Okay, stop looking at each other like that, it’s gross!” Jamie complained while sticking out his tongue. Jack snorted and shoved him lightly in his shoulder.
“You brought it up!”
“Not so you two could make kissy faces at each other!”
“What the—? We were not! That’s it, you little—"
“Aaaaaah!” Jamie screamed as Jack bowled him over to begin tickling his sides relentlessly. “Ah! No! Stop! I’m sorry! Please!” he howled in laughter as he writhed around under Jack’s strong grip, tears pouring down his cheeks from the ticklish assault. Nathalie chuckled and kneeled down, watching the exchange with a smile. He really is like a big brother… It wasn’t hard to imagine; he had a little sister at the time of his death, so those tendencies were almost ingrained in him. I’m glad that Jack has Jamie. He won’t be as lonely. Jack gave Jamie’s head one final, playful shove before hopping off him, leaving the little boy wheezing, flushed, and thoroughly giddy. His hair stuck up in odd places, decorated with blades of grass, as he looked at Nat breathlessly. “Eheh… Ehehe… So, Miss Mother Nature, you make the plants grow ‘n stuff?”
“Nat is fine,” she told him before swirling her hand, making a white lily bloom before her. “I am the one who brings spring to the world, like Jack does winter. My main duty is to cause the plants to return to life and jump-start their natural reproductive processes, but I can create them where I wish. I can also communicate with animals and create them, though that is much harder for me.”
“Cooooool.”
“Hey, why don’t ya show him the Pegasus?”
“You have a Pegasus?” His jaw nearly hit the floor as he practically vibrated with excitement. Nathalie smirked and brought her fingers to her mouth to whistle for the winged house; as the shrieking noise pierced the air, it responded with a faraway neigh and the faint rush of feathers. A shadow fell over the backyard a few seconds later as it landed beside the now-standing Nat, and she ran a praising hand over the rippling muscles of its flank. Jamie had his fists balled up as he gawked at it with sparkling eyes, but seemed hesitant to approach, especially as the horse blew a sharp breath of air from its large nostrils and stamped at the ground.
“Come here, Jamie. He’s very docile,” she said with a reassuring wave of her hand. Jamie gulped audibly and timidly tip-toed over, keeping a wide berth until he was at Nat’s side. She gently grabbed his wrist to pull his hand up to the horse’s side, allowing him to pet the creature. He began chuckling nervously, hand stiffly patting its belly, before easing into long stroke. As the horse’s wings folded at its side, he took to playing carefully with the feathers, appreciating their softness.
“He’s beautiful.” The horse appeared to have understood the compliment, as it reared its head around to nuzzle into his cheek. He shrieked with laughter and hugged its head to nuzzle it back. Nathalie smiled the entire time. It did her heart good to see a child like him so in awe and appreciative of nature- a sentiment much lost in the current generation of human beings.
“Wait until you see the dragon.”
“The what?” Jamie breathed in a harsh, horse whisper, looking dangerously close to cardiac arrest. Nathalie’s face immediately took on a pointed edge to glare warningly at Jack.
“What?”
“Jack, I cannot take him to the Tree of Life. It’s much too dangerous!”
“The what?” Jamie breathed again, clutching his chest as he started breathing faster in pure rapture.
“Come on, Nat! Pitch has no idea where the Tree of Life is. Come on, he’d love all the little habitat bubbles, especially the dinosaurs!”
“The what?!” Jamie’s face had taken on a pale pallor. Nathalie was quite concerned he would faint, so she braced her body behind him, all while continuing to stare at Jack sternly.
“Jack, that is precisely how he could find the Tree of Life.” She crossed her arms primly. She hated that she couldn’t show Jamie the Tree of Life, as she was sure that he would be so very excited, but this was a line she simply could not cross. “This is exactly what he could be waiting for. Why go looking for it himself when I could simply lead him to it?”
“Well, that is exactly like Pitch,” Jack conceded through clenched teeth. The disappointed look on his pale face, combined with Jamie tossing a pitifully pleading expression up at her, chipped away at her firm resolve. “You worry so much, you know. Can you just enjoy this? For me?” Jack’s earlier words rang hollowly in her chest, making her cringe a little. It was dangerous, but perhaps she was overreacting? Pursing her lips as she wrestled with the decision, the two of them continue to stare expectantly at her, hastening the collapse of her willpower.
“Oh, good grief, all right,” she consented with an exacerbated sigh. Simultaneously, they released triumphant crows and threw their fists in the air. “But,” she added tersely while holding up her index finger, “it is to be only this one trip, and it will be brief.”
“Thank you, Nat!” Jamie beamed and hugged her legs. Despite herself, she smiled and patted the top of his head. “Can I ride on the Pegasus?!” She nodded and picked him up to set him on the winged horse, watching as he babbled excitedly and patted the top of its head. She hesitated a moment before climbing up, weighted.
Why did she feel as if she were making a colossal mistake?

So check it out, it’s really weird because there’s all kinds of songs on here but if you like what you see or think of something maybe you’d wanna see written out, give me a shout.
Also, I’m not gonna put the Spotify link up for this because anonymity.
