Hi, I just finished Bad Buddy last week and it has absolutely consumed me. I saw (and was in awe) of how many fics you wrote for the show. And I was wondering if you had any fic recommendations. Like ones you liked, or ones where Pran's dad or Pat's mom are more involved with helping their kids (because I have a lot of questions about their dynamics). Or ones where Dissaya realizes Pat is nothing like Ming and is essentially impossible to hate.

Anyway, I've really enjoyed all the content this fandom has, and I'm probably gonna go read some of your stuff now. <3

As for fic recommendations… from me? I definitely do have some fics/ chapters where Pran’s dad and Pat’s mom are a bit more involved and fics for both Dissaya and Ming. I can’t remember off the top of my head if there are similar ones in the fandom.

But just BBS fics in general? Ohhh there are so many that were wonderful! Be sure to check out fiercynn, Ablazen, Faillen, snickerdoodles, seekingmoonscapes, and @non-binarypal7 to name a few! They’ve all written a couple of my favorite BBS fics and there are some that I have definitely missed but this is a great place to start!!

I do think there's something special about the way that audio drama creators seem to love including cameos of voice actors from other popular audio dramas. Obviously, part of the reason why actors from one show might pop up in another is because the audio drama creator community is relatively small and interconnected, and also because those actors are very talented.

But there's also often such a sense that creators are having fun with these cameos. Like Greater Boston casting audio drama heavyweights Briggon Snow, Zach Valenti, and Felix Trench as famous film actors Matt Daemon, Ben Affleck, and Mark Wahlberg respectively. Or Faux and Stallion having Tom Crowley (who plays a Victorian detective in Victoriocity) pop up as Dr Watson. Or Unseen casting Beth Eyre and Felix Trench as characters who are twins. Or Arden getting Emma Sherr-Ziarko to play an actor impersonating a character played by her former Wolf 359 costar Michelle Agresti (with Michaela Swee also appearing as an actor impersonating the other main Arden lead).

In these cases, it's not just that there's a cameo, but that the cameo is given particular (often comedic) significance to those who are aware of the featured actor's other work. The vast majority of people wouldn't recognise any of these voices. But by doing these very intentional cameos, these creators show confidence that a fair chunk of their audience will know these actors and enjoy the link. There's an awareness that listeners of one audio drama are fairly likely to listen to (or at least be aware of) other fiction podcasts, even when the shows in question aren't of particularly similar genres. Recognising these cameos feels like being in on a secret. It feels like these shows are giving a little nod to listeners to say that we're part of the same club.

Can I just say I legit dropped my tea cup when I saw the news about a new fic from you!!! I'm so very bumped for it you cannot imagine!!! Please is there something else you can tell us about it? This is better than anything for Easter and birthday and Christmas!

And, well, it's a 5+1 from Ga On's POV that spans across the drama with the concept "five times Ga On touched Yo Han without thinking and one time he did it intentionally." It started with me wondering what would happen if Ga On actually had reached out to touch Yo Han when he first showed Ga On the scar on his back, and then it evolved from there.

And by "evolved" I mean that the touches snowball and cause some slight changes to canon events and their developing relationship. Things escalate a bit quicker than the original, I guess you could say?

And then there will be a bonus chapter (or a +2, if you will) just because I realised I wanted to make the story come full circle with Ga On touching Yo Han's back again and that, in turn, devolved into a sex scene. And, like, the downside of me never having written one with this pairing before is that my brain just went "OH SHINY NEW TOY, GOTTA EXPLORE THIS." So the sex scene is getting really long even if that definitely wasn't my intention, because some part of me can't help but want to explore the dynamic and intricate details of these two having sex x'D

I'm really proud of myself for keeping the rest short, though! (She says about a fic that's 13k, unedited, not counting the, so far, 7k long bonus chapter) Like, you wouldn't believe how tricky it is when I'm used to exploring every tiny nuance and, in this one, I couldn't. There simply was no time. So I had to completely skip any discussions about Isaac, Elijah isn't even in it (which I'm sure is illegal), and a lot of the emotional development happens off-screen.

It's a much quicker, contained story told in a different format than my other fics, but will hopefully still be enjoyable? There will be lots of touching and A LOT of tension, if nothing else. Especially since this is during the time when Yo Han and Ga On are still getting to know each other and Yo Han has more of his Abyss tendencies. And Ga On is more bold since he doesn't have quite as much baggage. So closer to Gravitational Pull than Who Holds the Devil.

But yeah. The thought hit me and even if I "should" maybe be writing on Who Holds the Devil instead, I decided to let myself write this because the concept sounded really intriguing and I knew it would be pretty short (for being me). The bonus chapter isn't quite finished yet and I also have to edit all of it so I don't know when I'll be able to post it, though. But hopefully sometime soon?

Season 12 episode 1 of Bobs Burgers hitting me right in the heart, yet again. When Tina said "here I am, sorry, I've just been staring at myself in the bathroom for the past hour" I felt seen.

Also this is me officially showing my headcanon abt Tina's eyes. I think the reason why they're just dots in the show, is because her lenses are super thick and has the effect of making her eyes look huge. I mean, she's worn glasses since she was a baby, she clearly has pretty intense poor eyesight. Disabled Queen.

One of my favorite things about this fandom is seeing someone make a post about the canon couples, going to the notes, and inevitably seeing at least one person who hasn’t seen the show lose their shit because they genuinely thought that these ships were just fandom wishful thinking. Seeing them desperately trying to figure out where to watch it. It’s so pure, and it’s such a gift that we’ve been given.

I remember seeing this twitter post about the qsmp where Charlie and Foolish were speaking to each other in Spanish. Two English streamers were talking to each other IN SPANISH! That was such a cool thing to see, so seeing all this stuff about Dream using an ai for his server makes me sad because we won’t be able to have stuff like that. We won’t be able to feel the joy of streamers talking to each other in languages their not used to!

yeah!!! the qsmp is very special because there’s such a learning aspect to it. there’s growth!!! i watched foolish’s day one pov and like. his spanish was Very Obviously from a guy who had not thought about it since high school classes. but now i tune in and he’s making a conscious effort to conjugate his words and constantly expanding his vocabulary and it’s SO COOL to see!!! there’s so much joy and love woven into that smp and it’s been running for such a short time all things considered, and all of that is just. null and void with AI translators. they’ll never have those moments. and it says so much about the approach of each server’s creator and their priorities (passion vs attention)
