hey im a bit curious on why you say system origins dont harm people (it was in your pinned post) as a system that has been harmed because of endos (fakeclaimed, kicked out of spaces, lost access to resources) i was wondering if you could possibly explain in more detail? if you cant thats fine too! i was just curious and i wanted to follow you but im afraid i dont interact with endo or supports, so more information/disscussion is very much appreciated! have a good day/afternoon/evening!

people exist and that is that . not care how describe origin if can respect , and , just because bad individual people use specific name for origin do not make all each ones bad . many system with trauma and DID names say horrible things about gwydion plural life , which come from trauma too so can not pretend like complain for nothing , which one in many reason not give any details . but not make people who keep those names bad .

plural community exist in relative harmony much longer than not . know this as someone see and learn from original communities , much more focus on how live peaceful together and support " weird " things about each other . largely people share words with each other , happy hear experiences , feel less alone in " weirdness " . not like now where people want feel " valid " even if throw each other under bus , happy bully anything " invalid " .

When I started shipping them: Can you believe it's almost been 3 years since I started shipping them? And it all started because I wanted them to interact.

My thoughts: Perfect? Adorable? Warms my heart everytime I think about them? Comfort ship? You choose.

What makes me happy about them: How they're so much alike yet remain two unique individuals. A hypothetical relationship between them, platonic or romantic, has so much potential and interesting ideas.

What makes me sad about them: That they never once interacted in canon :,)

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: If only there were fanfics other than the ones we shared with each other😭

Guess I'll just do what I did with Sugikano and talk about what I did in fanfics that annoyed me. There were times their relationship seemed unhealthy because of how their arguments would go: They disagree on something, Yukiko gets visably upset, so Gakushuu feels guilty and apologizes. I really hate writing conflicts...

Yeah, it looked almost manipulative on Yukiko's end, even if unintentional, plus it made Gakushuu seem....weak? Submissive? He just didn't feel like the Shuu we know and love.

The solution: They agree to disagree. Have one of them in the wrong sometimes, have them work out a compromise other times. Still hate writing conflicts, though...

Things I look for in fanfic: I live for Yukiko subtly teasing Gakushuu and catching him off guard. Ans hey, the other way around is also nice; you can't say she didn't have it coming. Ah, sweet revenge...

My wishlist: Interaction! Dates, book disscussions, bonding over their similar family troubles/daddy issues; the list is never-ending!

Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Not 100% sure on this one. For Gakushuu, maybe Lea (Thanks, Candy). For Yukiko, maybe an OC specifically created for her.

My happily ever after for them: Marriage and starting a family, both promising not to repeat their parents' mistakes.

Reasons why Luz and  Hunter are siblings

(...Or more specifically why I think this interpretation of their relationship is what Dana wanted, and why it might be addressed in Thanks to Them) 

1. Wittebane Paralells

I made this rather messy analysis comparing Luz and Hunter with the Clawthorne Sisters and Wittebane brothers, it’s not that long but it basically boils down to  This:  

Hunter is a “reincarnation” of Caleb (of sorts) gets a younger human sibling who loves him unconditionally this time. Philip killed Caleb for daring to find a place on the isles, but it’s Luz who makes sure Hunter has a permanent place to stay in the demon realm.(by offering Hunter to stay at the owl house, an offer i’m almost sure Hunter will take her up on in Season 3)

and This: 

An ADHD coded bisexual gal who is studying wild magic has a chaotic (and funny) rivalry with a more lawful autistic coded person in the emperor’s coven who is two years older than her, and then the lawful one saves the chaotic one from emperor Belos and turns against the emperor after. Am I talking about Luz and Hunter? or Eda and Lilith? Both, of course. Relationship parallels aren’t just for romance, after all.

For Eda and Lilith (To be honest, I’m actually really quite sure you could swap Eda and Lilith and Luz and Hunter’s interactions round and almost all of them would still be in character)

The masks they’re wearing look possibly like the Wittebane masks.

 Obviously they're based on king and hooty too but luz with the horned mask, and hunter with the diagonal eye slit mask...yeah (relating to that, there is a theory that the golden guard mask is also based on a childhood mask caleb had which doesn't have that much evidence behind it, but like, might that be why hunter has it in the first place?

Like I doubt Hunter would want to make a new mask that resembles the golden guard one himself but what if he mysteriously found a wooden version of his old mask somewhere (because it used to belong to Caleb), was understandably freaked out and Luz helped him feel better by drawing a beak on it and re-dubbing it a hooty mask, all while sharing silly and chaotic stories about hooty (both because there's no shortage of those, and it would be a way of making up for getting cheated out of hunter and hooty interactions we could have had in a full season 3 according to dana)

2. Hunter Clawthorne? 

Okay, this is quite a bit more speculative but like...Luz asks Hunter to come stay with her and...Eda? You know, the witch, who is pretty obviously supposed to be Luz’s second mum?

"You can stay at the Owl House if you want. I'm sure Eda would be cool with it once we... tell her what we... heard." Luz in Hollow Mind

Not only that but Eda gave Luz her jacket in an act of familial love, Luz tosses the same jacket out to hunter and metaphorically extends that familial love out to Hunter.  Like, between that line and the jacket symbolism, I heard the "come live with us, come be part of our family" message loud and clear. 

 And well, wouldn’t it be cute if both luz and hunter are paying homage to other owl house members with their masks because Hunter decided he’s going to join the owl fam later down the line (especially if the two had been disscussing it just before)

Also Hunter just is a Clawthorne, (and it's quite likely to be genetic too) The traits he shares are obvious and he fits into the family like a glove. He has a bird palisman and the iconic “BYYYYYYEEEE” for a start.

 (And after all, Eda does have a habit of adopting strays and particularly children who are the only one of their species on the isles, a human? a titan? why not a grimwalker, huh?) (side tangent: but since it’s likely the Collector  will be redeemed and they are just a child, and I could see him forming a genuine friendship with King, maybe Eda will end up raising a star person too) 

Hunter's parental connection to Darius is also important and obvious, but since Luz is probably going to end up co-parented by Eda and Camila, why not have the same for Hunter? Luz can be a Noceda-Clawthorne and Hunter can be a Deamonne-Clawthorne.  

 So Caleb becomes a Clawthorne by marrying into the family and Hunter becomes a Clawthorne by being adopted. And you know what,  maybe Hunter deserves two (or three) little siblings and a big extended family. 

But the point is, that while some of these are headcanons, that between the nettles(see below) and the hollow mind line, I don't think it's too unlikely for Luz to casually re-iterate her offer for Hunter to live at the owl house if they make it back to the isles or to punctuate with an "after all, i've always wanted an older brother." (Especially since it makes sense for them to start talking about the owl fam while making/adjusting their masks, and for Hunter to start getting visibly jealous when Luz starts talking wistfully about her little family)

3. Just some miscellaneous things

This is interesting because in hunting palismen, Luz passes Hunter a pot of nettles, (It's almost always a thing that with any plants in the owl house, their floriography/flower language will symbolise something in the actual show) and nettles symbolize healing, calmness, stress relief, and SIBLING RELATIONSHIPS (full post from loosescrewslefty)

The Thanks to Them trailer and promos have promised quite a bit of focus on Luz and Hunter’s realationship, while giving us 2 out of 3 of the main Wittebro paralells on the list. Pair that with the fact that the episode might well give us more of the Wittebanes’ backstory at the same time and well...

A bit of a controversial idea here, but might that be why Dana has always seemed a little more openly annoyed with Lunter than any other opposing ship (or any other M/F ship). Both with removing the Hunter blush in Hunting Palismen and sort of mocking it on april’s fool day? (neither of which I really agree with, by the way) Like it could be because she knew Luz’s and Hunter’s relationship was going somewhere that didn’t really gel with a romantic interpretation, I dunno

For my last thing, I kind of want to say, they just act like it! It’s actually often reactors with siblings that  say Luz and Hunter act like them and their siblings in real life and  content creators who are basing Luz and Hunter’s dynamic off real-life interactions with their own siblings tend to be most accurate and close to how Luz and Hunter interact in canon!

And since one of Luz and Hunter’s very first interactions in Hunting Palismen Luz licking Hunter’s hand in an interaction that’s exactly the same as an interaction between the twins Mabel and Dipper in Gravity Falls. And since Dana also worked on that show, I see no reason why that parallel/reference couldn’t be deliberate too. Also the face pushing fight is something both Eda and Lilith and all the Blight siblings also did,  so yeah

books ive read recently and my thoughts about them

Scythe and it's sequels, Thunderhead, The Toll & Gleanings

makes me want to debate/disscuss alllll off the ethics & morality it touches on. interesting portrayal of AI and exploration of the morality of death. The ending of the series was logical, and I don't think I dislike it, it's just not my thing. Definitely something I wish we'd studied in highschool english back in the day instead of like, the great gatsby. worth a read if you want sci-fi that's not set in space

Raybearer and it's sequel, Redemptor

it was pretty good. felt like a breath of fresh air. enjoyed the portrayal of non-romantic love and the complicated feelings one can have towards terrible parents. good message, if a little heavy-handed. Wish the real world could fix its class divides and undo capitalism that easily. also wish we got to know more of the 12 better, though with only 2 books and a whole lot of stuff to get through, it's understandable they weren't explored much. read ella enchanted if you especially enjoyed the first book

Wizard of Earthsea trilogy

have never been so fucking validated for my run-on sentences by a book before. Excellent prose and imagery - i could eat those visual metaphors. I enjoyed the first book the most, the sequels slightly less so. have yet to read the side books. will definitely impact my writing style in the future. I <3 Usula Le Guinn

Spinning Silver (By Naomi Novik)

As good as my friend said it would be. Very fairytale-like, enjoyably lengthy, and sated my recent desire for jewish fiction. Could sometimes be hard to keep up with the POV changes sometimes, but that is my one and only criticism. Damn good book.

Uprooted (Also by naomi novik. actually the rest of the list is by her)

oughhh i loved the horror vibes. nice buildup, good tension, also fairytale-like, but in a different, twisted flavour. I liked that the 'big bad' being killed wasn't an instant fix in the ending: there was still work to be done. I really liked the interactions and chemistry between the three main characters, though I wish kasia and the POVcharacter had also gotten together (though i can't complain with the pairing the book did go with - the sex scene is really well done, even if it isn't as explicit as the erotica I usually frequent). I kept expecting them to get together, because frankly they both give off sapphic vibes. ah well

Scholomance trilogy

out of uprooted, spinning silver, and Scholomance, i'd rank scholomance as my favourite, then spinning silver, then uprooted. The storyline in this one is just especially well crafted: everything just comes together so satisfyingly, so neatly, with not a stray end in sight. I love the mystery aspect to it, and the relationship bewteen the main characters, and ESPECIALLY the school. It's like hogwarts but ten times as interesting and four times as dark and with 0 transphobic authors. THIS is how you design a magic school, people! I've always appreciated good setpieces (say, like in the Old Kingdom series and even the Inheritance Cycle) and the school for sure counts as one. Also did I mention the mystery aspect? This thing will have you hooked.

Temeraire series (up to halfway through Empire of Ivory)

Really love this!! I love dragons, especially ones that talk, and this has that in droves. Feels also very grounded, which is surprising for a dragon book: it's set in the 1790s during the napoleonic wars, and is, as far as I can tell, pretty faithful to the time period. except for, you know, the dragons. I enjoy seeing how the POV character grown as a person throughout the books, and how he interacts with others. Mans loves his dinner conversations. I enjoy Temeraire, the dragon, a lot, though for some reason I keep thinking he's a she/her??? for no reason?? it keeps throwing me off that he's not and i don't know why! you'd think 4 books in i'd have gotten the memo that hes a guy! anyways. manages to make me care about side characters that get like, at most, a page of content, which is impressive to me. very travelogue-esque. excited to see where the series goes!

Why do we only acknowledge the purity of critique and opinion when such thoughts have been procured in avoidance to disscussion and participation with bias. I love disscussion, I love listening and hearing the different things people have picked up baised on their experiences both inside the media of fixation and outside in their lives. And other people can love mine as well, as I too watch and listen and interact for reasons that abide by the mapping of my synapses from experiences and trauma and love.

Engaging with Influencers

When disscussing influencers I personally follow the first one that comes to mind is an influencer named Victoria Browne. She is a retired volleyball player who played D1 at University of Southern California. She now promotes body positivity and promotes eating to fuel your body instead of being scared to eat and gain weight. She would be considered a Macro-influencer because she has around 400K followers. For having so many followers I feel like she does a very good job of interacting with her followers and allowing her followers to be heard. She is consistently doing Q&A's on her Instagram or her YouTube and responds to followers DM's quite often. An other influencer I follow is Zoe Sugg who is a British vlogger who has had a prominent social media following for about over a decade now. She would be considered a Mega-influencer as she has around 9.3 million followers and around 4.4 million subscribers on YouTube. She does a pretty decent job of interacting with her followers considering how many she has. Also since she had been on social media for so long it would explain why she has such a large platform compared to other younger influencers I follow.

Prep Meeting

My main takeaway from this prep meeting is that i dont know anything but to remedy that im going to waffle until it hits me.

Why should others care about my art?

I don’t know. But i think there is merit in relatable human experience. I’ve kept my paintings designs minimal, they’re pretty easy to project onto. The materials are also of interest, they’re old and weathered. They have had full lives and previous uses and i think the incorporation of that use of material works to extend the meaning of the paintings, you did something/ met someone and later you might not know them but you’ll reconfigure and be something else. Its a tale as old as time.

I’d mostly discussed the physical of the flowers and their placement in relation to the paintings, i like that they had a weight but didn’t look hard enough into the why they had weight. i let the lack of interest in why narrow down my view of this and ignored the research i put into making them originally.

The flowers represent a personal take on pop culture, a repeated motif. I like them because while they are fragile, they're also not. The plastics will not disintegrate in my lifetime. in all their fragility every breakable aspect of them is replaceable, they exist in a way that is completely fixable.

Christina and i disscussed the ways in which we as a society interact with cut flowers. Theyre given to say Thankyou, Get well soon, Congratulations, Goodbye, Happy Birthday, they are given in sympathy and out of love. 

When you take them and put them in front of a series of paintings that represent a season of my life that I’ve moved from you get a goodbye, an I love you and an i wish you well. 

And i think thats what makes this matter

Where do i exist in the scope of the art world and art making?

i exist to the side. In the scheme of contemporary art i make my works about the everyday, i probably relate most to the dutch little masters, i don’t think my work matters. Which helps me justify why it does matter.

why shouldn’t embarrassing and emotional everyday  occurrences be represented. Why would they not be displayed as high art?

David Hockney painted pools because he was from a country in which they were a luxury and arrived in a place they were commonplace, he painted men because he liked men and houses and gardens because he found the subject matter interesting. 

I’ve worked in a similar way and spent so long justifying my work through studying the Anthropocene and mass consumption and utopia and dystopia that i just don’t think it needs to be so deep anymore. it will remain backed by the information I've consumed because I am what I've learnt but it should be allowed to just exist as a representation of emotion and interactions. Maybe i should’ve stayed a hobby artist so i didn’t have to justify why i making stupid little paintings and flowers

I can’t stop thinking about the dutch little masters and how they were disregarded because they painted fruit and cheese and the world said it wasn’t important when it was technically skilled, and aesthetically decadent and just what else could you want back then really, at least they appreciated the world or what it could be if you spent your money on short lived experiences

But that is an emotional connection, i literally align with Hockney or ant Hamlyn and that’s okay

Aizen and Seinosuke are foils and let me explain:

Seinosuke does have a ego- but not like Aizen, he is very prideful about his skills and his abilties. There is no doubt about it that he believes that he can heal everyone that he treats in his clinic and its his job and sadistic pleasure of forcing people (mostly nobles) to live.  But in the book CFYOW 3. It states that

 “If a soul reaper’s work is to control life then isn’t giving others the will to live part of your role?” (Seinosuke, p 358). Which really reflects Seinosuke character in his sentence, he was previously the 4th fukutaichou which is a healing base division. It what he was taught. Granted, his methods of healing is not ethical but it still causes people to live normal lives after words. (Yet- if not traumatize afterword's). But its obvious by the way he is speaking. He is content with his job and life and giving advice to Hisagi is the same way he would take it just in a lesser down form.  Even know he does say he is a heartless person but that is just his own cynical nature, he is not actually heartless- just a front he puts on.  But his whole line about soul reapers controlling life is what he does, he controls them to live. 

Now, on to Aizen. Aizen has a massive narcissistic personality. But its more of a logical way. He isn’t content at all in the world and wants to see it change. But that change will benefit him in the end and in a way he does want to control the life of the whole realms but to only benefit him by becoming the new god/soul king of the realms and force it to change in his own unique way because he doesn’t  like the restrictive force military style of living that all soul reapers just accept it as a way of life despite its own corruptness and unwillingly to see any type of evolutionally change.  Which makes him more influence to take matters in his own hands and become the new god.

Which in summary is the main two foil differences between Aizen and Seinosuke. Both are prideful people but one is more content and is willingly to use that pride to benefit his own greed and status. While the other is fueled by his ego and his own  god complex that he isn’t content with the soul society, his solutide and desire to change and to become stronger and better and to change the soul society in his own way as he see it because he thinks it would be more benefitical to him and there for his own self centered world.  Which is why Seinosuke and Aizen is both really good foils in their own way.

Why Are ppl so into incest, like do you not have siblings? Does the idea of wanting to see two brothers romantically interacting not sour other Normal sibling bonds? Can even brothers not have normal healthy bonds or talk and disscuss things passionatly without ppl going "OMG THEYRE SO GONA KISS".

Um. Anon. I don’t know how to tell you this, but if seeing depictions of incest in fiction makes you start lusting after your siblings in real life, that is very much a you problem. Like if watching Jaime and Cersei kiss on Game of Thrones or scrolling past a piece of thorki fanart sours normal sibling bonds for you, that’s on you. Stories depict lots of things like murder or war or violence that we don’t like in real life, bc they can contribute to a good story; this is no different. I’m just out here trying to enjoy good and thoughtful and emotionally engaging fiction. Good luck figuring out whatever you‘ve got going on tho...

Edit: Wait. Now I want an AU where thorki the ship is a thing in the MCU and Loki hates it with a burning passion and goes on a crusade against it but it’s actually bc of the repressed pining he’s been in denial about. I feel like comics!loki would do that.
