though, lingering over that last post....I wonder how easily this trips into horror story? I mean, in this world where there are child-producing marriages and then sisterhoods/brotherhoods for the rest, this obviously allows the family to keep a stranglehold on their collective assets and wealth. Therefore, I bet that family is an even more tightly-locked cage for those born into it.
Oh, you thought that if you could just escape marriage you'd be free, didn't you? You thought you could join the local order and letter manuscripts or tend goats or say prayers over the dying---but no. No, that's for other people's sons and daughters. You have no escape. You will serve your family forever, whether you will or no. You marry who they tell you to and live in your family's third-nicest castle your whole life; you can have as many lovers and bastards as you want, you can earn coin all on your own, if you can, but it will come to naught in the end. You will be cursed with absolute surety of where you fall: res nullius.
As it was and ever shall be, amen.

So. My interest in crafting a variation of Scarecrow that leans into the "violent dancing" aspect aka turning him into more of a physical threat has also somehow spiraled into making him the leader of a fear cult. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So it all started with some dc wiki perusal and, at the mention of his violent dancing style, the page linked to the wiki entry for drunken boxing. I don't know why this is tbh, but the ideas started percolating. Now, I wouldn't apply any of the styles 1:1 to Jonathan because I don't think it'd be suitable; he wouldn't be like Jackie Chan in the Drunken Master, etc. The general conception, however, is very appealing:
Tumblr media
It's unpredictable. Disorienting. Pretty ideal for someone who enjoys dishing out some delicious fear. But one of my fave parts:
Tumblr media
I like the idea of him appearing unbalanced even when he's not actively engaged with an adversary. Because someone standing there looking like they could fall over is just a fun and potentially unsettling gimmick. Of course, this would also mean he has killer core strength. As much as I like ghoulishly thin Dr. Crane, this version would have muscle. He'd still be an ectomorph body type though so definitely more wiry and flexible.
Going from there, I started pondering on designs which would facilitate a more active fighter. My idea is very derivative of the Arkham Asylum version followed by TNBA Scarecrow and Arkham Knight designs for vibes. Looser/less clothing, more practical than spooky (unfortunately). My version of his mask is more horror movie to accommodate that. I asked myself what scares me and that's mortality and body horror, so some skull elements were definitely used. I'd love to go more into detail about it but it'd be better to have a doodle to go with my atomic level rambling on design choices. Initially, I veered more towards a medieval executioner feel, but it 1. was before I was like "okay but what if he had a cult" and 2. didn't mesh with the fighting thing. I guess. I kept it though since his look changes with a single article of clothing and it works with the whole life and death theme I have going. I call one look the Shepherd (has a hood, sickle with long handle as a "shepherd's crook" for weapon) and the other the Executioner (mask only, full on scythe mode). This would make more sense with drawings, though I'm not much of an artist. (T▽T) I'll still try though. Soon.
I don't know where the cult idea popped up from. Maybe it was the God of Fear comic storyline? Maybe it's all the shitty darksynth with ominous pipe organ and satanic chanting I listen to??? Anyway. The general idea is college professor Jonathan Crane would really like funding for experiments related to fear, but no one is interested. Somehow gets the idea to start some secret society (named something edgy and cool like Eye of the Crow Order) based on, you guessed it: fear! The concept would be making individuals stronger mentally by forcing them to confront their fears. And other philosophical bs. At least on the surface. Jonny boy really just wants willing participants in his experiments but shhhh they don't know that. Induction into the group would involve being injected with a weaker form of the fear toxin or something. With time, more people join in. People who want to get hit with the fear toxin again would prob get subjected to higher dosage or a more experimental variant.
The turning point is after he's fired for, you know, the whole shooting a gun in a classroom thing. He kidnaps those responsible and decides to make a spectacle of their murder during a meeting of the secret society. This causes massive division within the group and a double or nothing scenario; people who aren't cool with murder and craziness obviously bail out, but those completely devoted to the "doctrine" go all in. And so begins the era of Scarecrow and his fanatical cult following.
This version would have no need to hire thugs. He has his "flock" fully willing to carry out his vision. The most committed of them (his "Disciples" perhaps?) are probably those who volunteer for multiple occurrences of fear toxin experimentation (and live through it) which has left them a bit unhinged and probably very dangerous. These are the ones which would likely also get shipped to Arkham if caught. But yeah, the cult angle is great because it adds an element of intrigue (is this otherwise polite Gotham citizen part of his cult??) and it makes Scarecrow a bit more threatening not only to Batman and the Batfam, but to the other rogues. Can't imagine some of the latter would be very keen on dealing with zealous cult members if a team-up was orchestrated.
As for Jonathan, the whole thing starts as a front just to get bodies to experiment on but, after huffing enough toxin over the years, he starts fully believing he is the Master of Fear and deserves to be worshiped over it. ALSO. He has a nice, tidy murder of crows. He gets all of them to mimic the sound of creepy laughter and say "hroo hraa" :)
also also trying not to feel A Way at him calling his followers "lambs"

In Defense of Onward
Tumblr media
"It was good, but it wasn't as good as Pixar's other films."
This is the common assessment when it comes to some of Pixar's recent output. While I don't have a problem with people prefering one film over another, it does irk me a bit when a film is seen as lesser than it's contemporaries. Onward is the most recent example of this and I don't think it's deserving of the reputation it has gotten. While generally people liked it, for the most part they thought it was weak compared to the likes of Wall-E, or Inside Out, or The Incredibles. I never agreed with that assessment and in this post I'd like to explain why.
The story appears straight forward but takes unique turns that ultimately ends in a great conclusion. Ian and Barley are given the chance to see their late father again when their Dad leaves behind a wizard staff, a phoenix gem and a spell that could bring him back for one day. Ian casts a spell, but didn't complete it due to a lack of balance and now only their Dad's legs are back. Thus Ian and Barley set out on a quest to find another phoenix gem to bring their Dad back completely before time runs out. Throughout the journey Ian learns how to better control his use of magic and along the way learns how to be more confident in his everyday life, such as learning to drive and not being afriad to have some fun. This comes to a head towards the end when Ian realizes that while he never had a Dad, he had Barley to fill in that role. In addition to strong emotional moments, there's also moments of genuine humor such as Ian and Barley's Dad unashamedly dancing terribly to Corey paralyzing a stingy pawn shop owner. I also really like rhe score composed by Mychael and Jeff Danna as it has a medieval yet also modern feel and the inclusion of a choir was a nice touch.
It's worth noting that the film more than utilizes its setting to tell this story. Set in a modern fantasy world, Onward sets itself apart from movies and TV shows in the same genre by having no humans in sight. Instead this world is populated by elves, centaurs, pixies, mermaids, cyclopses and many more. Many elements from our modern reality are reshaped to accommodate theit reality such as the residents of New Mushroomton living in mushroom houses, a group of pixie operating a motorcycle, a custome made police car for centaurs and many more. This world feels very much liver in and gives the characters a nice place to reside.
Speaking of characters, I think the characters were all well rounded and likable, lovable even. Starting with Ian, he's very much a typical teenager who's socially awkward, gets nervous behind the wheel and very much wants things to be normal. And yet he's also funny, has a willingness to learn and becomes more brave and confident as the film progresses. This is all thanks to his older brother, Barley who is very much Ian's opposite. Barley is very confident, very knowledgeable in quest lore and has Ian's back through thick and thin. Their Mom, Laurel, is also a great character as she's brave and strong like Barley, yet smart and compassionate much like Ian. I especially like how she's willing to risk her life to save her boys during the climax like a true mother. The manticore, Corey, was such a fun character because she started off just nervous and busy but once she realizes her true calling, she becomes Laurel's smart and funny partner in finding Ian and Barley. I also gotta give a shout out to Officer Colt Bronco for being a considerate yet firm step-father to Ian and Barley and a good boyfriend to Laurel.
What truly brings the characters to life though is the excellent voice acting. Tom Holland once again adopts an American accent for this part, yet Ian never felt like another Peter Parker or Walter Beckett (from Spies in Disguise). Holland made Ian sound like a believable socially awkward teen who grows to become brave and confident as the film progresses. Chris Pratt nails the personality of Barley, making him sound very boisterous and confident. Pratt and Holland's chemistry is also very believable and every scene Ian and Barley are in, you buy that they're brothers who care for one another. Julia Louis-Dreyfus (who previously played Princess Atta in A Bug's Life) perfect brought out the personality of Laurel as she sounded lively and like a real mother who cares about her boys. I also thought Octavia Spencer did a terrific job voicing Corey as she made her transition from nervous to fearless feel very natural. Mel Rodriguez also did a great job voicing Colt Bronco, as he sounds like an earnest man who takes his job seriously and likes cracking jokes with his step-sons.
It's no secret that Pixar movies have excellent animation and this film is no different. The textures and environments feel so believeable and life like and the character designs are all very unique and creative. The character animation is fluid and flows naturally and is believeable rendered. This is especially true during the climax where our heroes fight a dragon made of debris kept together by red smoke. One element about the animation that really impressed me was how they brought the legs of Ian and Barley's Dad to life. Given that there's no top half to him, the animators at Pixar had to figure out how a pair of legs would move. What they did was they put an actor in half a green suit and have him move around in front of a green screen as reference. This resulted in some of the funniest moments in the film, particularly when Ian and Barley are dancing with him.
One important element about this film that not many people know about is that this story is very personal to the film's director. Dan Scanlon made this film as a semi-biographical piece based on his childhood and how he never got the chance to meet his late father. The scene in which Ian is listening to an audio tape of his Dad is ripped straight out of the real life moment when Dan discovered an audio tape of his Dad. This is the heart and soul if the story as Ian and Barley go on a quest to bring their late father back for just one more day. Personally, while I can't fully relate of Dan as I'm blessed to have been raised by my Dad since birth, I definitely empathizing with him and feel the passion he had for telling this story.
Overall, I think Onward is great in its own right and doesn't need to be held to the standard of Pixar's other films. It tells a personal story very well with likable characters, unique world building, great voice acting, spectacular animation and a beautiful score. I think more people should give it a watch as many passed on it because many reviews said it was "good, but not great." Also it came out when theaters were closing due to the pandemic and had to be put on Disney+ less than a month after it's initial release. So if you have Disney+, feel free to check it out. You might be pleasantly surprised.

"They said, 'All teenagers scare the livin' shit out of me'. They could care less as long as someone'll bleed."
Tumblr media
Lia eyed Maya oddly, she was letting Lia win at Mario Kart and she never let Lia win at Mario Kart. It was a sort of unspoken agreement they had. Maya won Mario Kart games on the Switch and Lia won FIFA games on the Playstation. It was the only way they could justify purchasing both high-end consoles.
If you asked Lia, she'd tell you that her and Maya had been forced into friendship almost like some sort of medieval betrothal. Their parents were best friends (though that was kind of hard to tell with the way Jisoo and Irene talked to each other) and they were the firsts born, so in their minds it was only natural that their offspring be besties too.
And sure, 19 years later it had worked out for the better. They really were best friends. They told each other everything (within reason).
When Lia had lost her virginity to the Cheerleading captain her junior year, she had practically called Maya before it was even actually over.
And when Maya had gotten peer-pressured by Ryland and Jesse to go to her first house party, then proceeded to get drunk like there was no tomorrow, she called Lia to come pick her up in fear that her mother would definitely murder her. Okay, she called Lia to come get Ryland and Jesse too, but it was mainly about her!
So, Lia knew that look on Maya's face. That look that said I have something I desperately need to get off my chest. That look that said listen and don't comment when I'm done. And it was serving to irritate her that Maya was holding out on her for so long.
"Just say it." Lia murmured just as a blue shell upended her go-kart.
Maya pursed her lips. She listened for their parents. Jisoo and Irene were busy in the bathroom of Lia's and Maya's apartment attempting to fix something they definitely did not know how to fix. She heard Irene curse and knew they would be in there for at least 45 more minutes.
"Hey uh, would you be mad if I slept with your sister?" Maya mumbled, she scratched at her chin awkwardly.
"No, but Taylor would probably beat your ass. And I'd just watch because you'd deserve it and it would be funny." Lia audibly giggled as she imagined the sight.
"...Not Ryland."
Lia's go-kart slowly came to a stop on the screen. And suddenly, Maya was winning again as she desperately pressed accelerate as if she would be able to physically drive away from this conversation.
Lia turned her head toward Maya slowly, "Peyton? My baby sister? My kid fucking sister, Peyton Kim? Who is a baby and a child and evil and younger than you? And - and a kid? That Peyton?! My baby sister?!"
Both of them are losing at Mario Kart now.
"She's only a year younger than me. She turns 18 literally next week! Why are you so mad?" Maya claimed exasperated.
If Lia knew Maya's "We Need to Talk" look, then Maya definitely knew Lia's "Take a Five Second Headstart" look.
Maya stupidly doesn't take her headstart.
She isn't exactly surprised when Lia tackles her to the carpeted floor. She is surprised by her urge to fight back. She had never really been a fighter, but this feels different. This feels like she's fighting for her omega, which is stupid and out of left field and Peyton isn't even her omega, but she just can't help herself when her fist flies in the direction of Lia's temple.
It missed of course. Like she said, she's never been much of a fighter.
"Maya." Her mother's growl is enough to get her to stop squirming underneath Lia. She mewled and cowered a fair bit. She may be an adult but her mother's growl was literally never not going to terrify her.
Jisoo does the same thing to Lia, but she's just so mad and pent up and everything seems to be falling apart around her that she completely disregarded it.
Jisoo had to more or less put her in a headlock and yank her away from Maya to get her to relax.
"What the hell are you two fighting about?" Jisoo asked as she put Lia on the couch.
"Yeah, Maya what are we fighting about?"
"..."
"That's what I thought." Lia shook her head. She shrugged her mother off of her and hurried out of the front door.
Tumblr media
Lia drove around for what felt like a good two hours before coming to a stop in front of a semi-familiar house.
She walked to the front door and knocked hesitantly.
Wendy opened the door with a surprised smile, "Oh, hey Lia. What are you doing here?"
What a great question.
"I-I-I don't know?"
Wendy's eyebrows furrow before she steps to the side. Inviting Lia in silently. Lia doesn't know how to express her gratitude without saying it.
Even though she should be, considering how often he does it at games and practice, she isn't expecting for the small ball of pent up boy energy to come flying at her legs in an attempt at a hug.
"Uh, hey kid." Lia patted him on the back awkwardly. Luckily, he doesn't seem to sense anything is off.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Wendy asked. And Lia could only blink in answer. Wendy was so nice and pretty and considerate and gorgeous. And Lia isn't sure what she ever could have done to deserve to bask in this woman's presence.
"Um, a glass of water would be nice." And Lia didn't plan on drinking it, but she didn't want to be rude. Wendy nodded and gestured for her to sit on the couch in the meantime. And Lia did without question.
Immediately, Kyle seemed to be bored with her presence and went back to doing whatever it was kids his age do when their parents aren't looking.
Wendy handed a glass of water to Lia and sat next to her on the couch.
"Do you want to talk?"
Lia counted the number of ice cubes in her glass exactly six times before speaking.
"I think my life is falling apart." Lia said, counting the ice cubes once more.
Wendy raised an eyebrow at the statement, "How so?"
"Oh. Easy! For starters, my parents haven't spoken to each other in a week and a half. My career was ripped away from me. And I think I just lost my best friend. Somehow, I can't help but feel like it's all my fault." Yes, she originally wasn't going to drink any of the water, but now she feels like she needs to down a few gulps after that revelation.
"Well, those first two things I can almost guarantee aren't your fault. Your parents problems are not yours. And by the way you've talked about them before, I think they'll be alright. Eventually. Also, you had no way of knowing you were going to get sick. Now as far as the last one, I'm going to need more information to explain it away."
"She slept with my sister and like any great alpha big sister, I attempted to kill her."
Lia frowned as Wendy started to laugh hysterically.
"Please don't laugh after I call myself a great alpha."
Wendy swiped at a stray tear, "Sorry but that's hilarious. You got mad at your best friend for sleeping with your sister? The sister who you said yourself has had a crush on said friend since she could walk? You're mad about the inevitable?"
"But-but she's my baby sister!"
"She's not your baby sister. She's your younger sister. Who is pretty much an adult and can make decisions for herself."
"But-"
"No. You've known both of them your entire life. You know that if they decide to date that your sister will be fine. And if something goes wrong, which I'm sure it won't. Maya definitely knows now that Peyton has an older sister that is willing to go to jail to protect her. On that note, I'm sure Ryland's mate knows that too."
"So, what you're saying is that one was my fault?"
Wendy rolled her eyes, "That's not the only thing, but sure."
Lia's nose scrunched up.
"What's this really about, Lia?"
"...I just feel like things are moving without me. Like I've got very little control over what's happening to me."
"That's not true. I'm sure you have the best control. Over a bunch of things that are meant to be controlled by you."
"You're just being nice."
"Maybe. But I'm also right. In fact, I'll prove it to you. Kyle has a boy scout meeting soon. You should stay over."
Lia thinks her throat just closed up. Despite, the fact that she cannot breathe, she manages to push out a response without any hesitation.
"Okay."

Hi Colour! This is going to be a long one, so buckle up!
Oh wow, that's so precious! You've definitely earned the "real life Dani" nickname haha I wish I could find something meaningful like that to do with my life. I'm actually autistic and have ADHD so hearing you do this kind of work makes me really happy! Keep up the good work Ms. Clayton! 😁 Haha
You sound like a lot of fun to hang out with at pubs! Haha I'm glad you identify with that bit of info on your star placements. I had a lot of fun doing it too!
The thing about Hozier is that some of his lyrics are incredibly sapphic to me for some reason, I'm still trying to figure it out. NFWMB is one of the songs that feels like that to me. Don't know if you've heard it before but give it a try if you haven't. If you close your eyes it sounds like you're in an epic romantic story and there are swords, pretty gowns, and rooms lit by torches. Haha
The beginning of this song was inspired by a poem written by W.B Yeats called "The Second Coming" in 1920, and it talks about an apocalypse of sorts, alluding to all of the horrors men inflicted upon the world which ends up awakening this beast that goes to Jesus's place of birth in the Bible (Bethlehem) to be born. The last lines being:
"And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?"
So the song starts with:
"When I first saw you
The end was soon
To Bethlehem it slouched
And then, it must've caught a good look at you"
And oh boy do I think of Dani when I hear that. Especially bc of that scene where Viola accepts Dani's invitation to live inside her. And nobody knows why she accepts it (but I do!).
And yeah at first glance you might not think much of Dani. in the beginning she's just a tiny frail small-town girl with a lot of anxiety, running away from her past traumas. But she proves us wrong again and again and again. She moves to a country she's never been before entirely by herself, sees an opportunity, and doesn't let go of it even when it looks like it went wrong. Then is very loving and tender with these children who have gone through so much and are still going through so much. Tries to fight (with a fire poker!!) the threatening man that keeps harassing her, the children, and her friends. THEN manages to soften the angry, grumpy lesbian who's given up on people after A LOT of trauma (too much in my opinion) and doesn't give up on her when she rejects her either. Freaking exorcises her ex and makes him stop haunting her so she can be with the love of her life. And then finally as if all of that didn't make her the bravest hero in this story, she literally stops an apocalypse from happening and saves everyone from this beast by sacrificing herself without even thinking twice. Saves everyone that came before her and then the ones who'll come after for the rest of eternity. I mean the P-O-W-E-R this girl has. 💪 so hell yeah the lady in the lake wanted to take her.
When Hozier says:
"Ain't it a gentle sound, the rollin' in the graves?
Ain't it like thunder under earth, the sound it makes?
Ain't it exciting you, the rumble where you lay?
Ain't you my baby? ain't you my baby?"
I can only think of Dani at the bottom of the lake laying on top of all the bones of the people Viola killed and how she's at peace living forever in a dark place like that. That's kinda hardcore y'know?
After the first verses, Hozier goes on to talk abt his lover, someone so utterly terrifying even the beast of the end of the world can't stand to look at them. But this song is also about being proud to be this person's lover bc nothing can fuck with them, not bc you are there to protect them and wouldn't let anyone harm them, but bc they're more than capable of protecting themselves and you too. So in my head, this song is Jamie's declaration of love to Dani.
And then I think of Jamie's devotion to Dani when she said "If you can't feel anything, then I'll feel everything for the both of us." shown in this verse:
"If I was born as a blackthorn tree
I'd wanna be felled by you
Held by you
Fuel the pyre of your enemies"
And the fact that she took what she could get just to be with Dani. She knew she'd have to suffer for/bc of her at some point, but chose to be with her anyway. I have no doubts in my mind she'd want to be anything for her as long as they could be together in any way, shape, or form. In all the lives they happened to meet one another too.
Wouldn't it be cool to see them in an AU where Dani is like a medieval princess who's supposed to marry Edmund to form an alliance between kingdoms or something and Jamie is an assassin who is hired to kill the princess so she has to pretend to be Dani's personal guard or wtever but they fall in love and run away together and Jamie teaches her how to fight so Dani becomes this warrior but turns out Dani is naturally good at it and then she becomes a legend? Hahaha I can see her riding a horse in the winter with paint on her face and her blonde hair falling over this fur-lined cloak, fierce look on her face, and Jamie riding next to her (always). Then they come across Viola who's a witch and puts a curse on Dani and then Dani and Jamie have to travel to all sorts of places and fight all sorts of people and go on this whole adventure to rid Dani of this curse. Maybe Dani has to go back to her kingdom bc her father dies and there are other people trying to take her kingdom so there's a lot of angst and suffering but then they win at the end after a lot of sweat and tears and they live happily ever after! 😎Hahaha
Anyway, I hope you're having a great week so far and hope you had fun with your niece today! (I know if I was her and you had us make fudge and paint I'd worship you haha) I'm sorry for the very (very) long ask, but I've been obsessing over this idea for months and I just had to share it with someone! ✌️✨
(And you can call me Libby or wtever since I'm not anon anymore 🤗)
Awwh thank you so much for saying I have earned my 'real life Dani' title is means a lot to me that you guys see that in me!! I am sure you do so many meaningful things in life without even realising it!! I honestly just want to make a difference and I love helping people so going into a career like this just seemed so natural to me and I really do love what I do!! Thank you so much I really hope I can keep up the good work!! I hope I'm a lot of fun- I know I have helped win a few pub quizzes and there's been a few times I've won games of trivial pursuit as well so that really did make so much sense to me and learning about all the placements of my chart was so much fun and was so interesting so thank you very much!! I have heard some of Hozier's lyrics are quite sapphic and I always mean to look into more of his songs and then just never do but I will definitely look in to NFWMB because the lyrics you have sent me here are incredible and definitely give of Dani x Jamie vibes I definitely agree with you in everything you have said about why Viola accepted Dani's invitation- Dani and Viola are similar in some ways and this was something I was explaining to my niece when she watched it with me. I explained to her that both Viola and Dani are strong willed, and stubborn, and would do anything to fiercely protect the people they care about. We saw that time and time again with Dani, how within days of knowing Miles and Flora she was out with a fire poker trying to protect them from a strange man that she kept seeing around the manor. And how Viola would've done anything to protect her daughter. One major difference between them though is that Viola seemed to have a slight selfish streak where as Dani is entirely selfless, she was selfless for the longest time in even agreeing to marry Eddie so she wouldn't hurt him, she was selfless in protecting Miles and Flora, and even more selfless in saving Flora's life and freeing all the trapped spirits of Bly Manor and then she is selfless in the fact that she won't drag anyone down and won't hurt anyone else at Bly ever again. The one thing she did for herself was being with Jamie- and she was able to make Jamie open up and trust people in way she probably hadn't for the longest time. Dani is a truly strong person as was Viola and I can see why she would accept Dani's invitation. I will have to listen to this song to see it from a Jamie perspective which I will definitely do tomorrow but from the lyrics you have sent me I can definitely see it being a love declaration to Dani from Jamie. Jamie knew in the end she would suffer because she knew she wouldn't be able to keep Dani forever, and knew that one day she would have to leave her- but she knew loving Dani for as long as she was allowed to would be worth that pain in the end and Jamie is a truly strong person as well for knowing this and staying by Dani's side anyway when that must have been such a hard thing for Jamie to ever have to accept. Jamie would've been anything for Dani and would've one anything for her as Dani would've for Jamie and that's why I love them so much. They loved each other so purely and without conditions and so wholeheartedly and it really was such a lovely thing to watch play out in front of us (even if it did hurt us all at the end). I think it would be so cool to see an AU like that I think medieval stuff is always so fun and so interesting and a good enemies to lovers start never fails either because there's so much tension there between them. And Jamie being undercover as someone to get close to Dani and them slowly falling in love with each other would just be a great thing to see!! And I am all for warrior Dani and Jamie (women with weapons is a little bit of a weakness of mine)!! This whole AU just sounds incredible I love a good curse in fantasy stories and the curse slowly taking over and you thinking they're going to run out of time but everything works out in the end!! Dani going back to her kingdom because of her sick Dad dying would be great for angst because it would look
like she would have to marry someone to create an alliance and that she would have to take over a kingdom (perhaps something she never wanted to do in the first place)!! I think this could be a very angsty one shot and could be so interesting and fun and the happy ending would definitely make all the angst worth it in the end!! I am having a good week so far thank you and I had so much fun with my niece today, making fudge went great and she was happy that I was able to show her how to do it because she'd never made it before so now that's something she knows how to do (I think she thinks I'm way cooler than I actually am haha thank you for saying you'd worship me though if you were my niece haha 😂) but tomorrow she is teaching me how to do something because I taught her how to make fudge today... she's gonna teach me how to draw in an anime style- which is something she is really into and even though I'm not she loves drawing so I've asked if she can teach me since I taught her something today!! There's no need to apologise I loved this long angst and I loved this idea I think it's really great and interesting and that song just seems amazing and I am definitely gonna listen to it tomorrow when I get chance!! Thank you for sharing this idea with me I loved it!! ☺️ Haha oki doki then as long as that's alright with you Libby is what I'll call you!! Like I said you can seriously call me anything!! ☺️

I'm yelling the ask box is open! Thanks so much! Can I ask for a medieval!AU in which Mirio is Crown Prince? With him going undercover to roam about the village to have some fun without being recognized. And then he sees the reader taking part in a folk dance with other citizens and it's love at first sight! Maybe they notice them, I'd leave that up to you and how much you're willing to write. Thanks again! Hope maybe you'll have a bit of fun with this!
I’m really glad you’re happy about that lovely! =D I very much hope that I could write this well enough and that you’re going to like it =) I certainly enjoyed writing it!
Mirio doesn’treally expect to have a special or spectacular day. Most of all, he just wantsto mingle with everyone at the festival and see and hear how things are foreveryone and to have a bit of fun as well.
Miriocertainly finds he has a great time. He dances a bit himself, lets an elderlylady show him how to properly do one of their folk dances and he walks aroundafterwards. He takes up the mantle of being the son of a merchant who newlycame into town to trade goods in order to talk with the townsfolk.
While somepeople are a bit reserved towards him, perceiving him as a stranger, he findsothers who are more open - or in some cases drunk enough - to talk about theirlives and how they feel living in his country.
A new songstarts up soon enough, he looks up and his eyes fall to the people starting todance in the big, cleared area, surrounded by tables and with a couple of musiciansplaying merrily at the side. He sees them then. They dance in a way that somehow, makes them stand out from all theothers. When they turn between steps, their eyes meet for a brief moment.
Mirio issure that’s what sparks it. Seeing the joy in their eyes, the elation andstrength in their movements. His heart skips a beat and it almost feels asthough an invisible force is pushing at him, almost demanding he go to them. Hewants to dance. He wants to meet their gaze again, he wants to sweep them offtheir feet and meet them, talk to them. If he already feels like this just frommeeting their eyes, he suddenly can’t wait to discover their personality aswell.
Mirio feelsrooted to the spot at the same time though, his thoughts going a mile a minuteand his heart almost racing just as fast. He understands and yet, a part of himdoesn’t dare to accept it. Falling for a stranger? It never happened to him, itnever happened to anyone he knows. And yet, here he is, his gaze following themas they dance, half of him wishing he could just dance with them.
The songends and the stranger skips out on the next song, seeking out a table close toMirio to get something to drink. He finds himself walking towards them beforehe can stop himself.
“Hello.”He greets them and the stranger looks up, giving him a curious smile that stillholds the traces of their joy while dancing. To Mirio it looks as though theyalmost seem to glow from within.
Somehow, though he finds most conversation topics flee his grasp, they begin to talk. Then he makes them laugh and he just feels his chest warming, his heart growinglighter. Mirio wishes he could keep them happy from now on and that thoughtcauses him to back off a little bit. He really needs to be more clear-headedabout this.
They don’teven know who he truly is and he doesn’t want to deceive them. If he does this,he wants to do it right. He wants to ask if he may court them, he wants to askall their favorites to pick out a present, he wants to make them laugh again.
“Wouldyou like to dance with me?” They suddenly ask, taking him by surprise.
He smilesbefore he can stop himself and even though he hovers for a moment, hesitatingand wrangling with everything, he stretches out his hand in the end. “Iwould love to.”
Mirio canalready see that this has so many ways to turn out badly, to end in heartache, for both of them even. Still, he can’t help hope spreading through his chest, tentative and paper-thin. Maybe, this can work out. Maybe this love of his hasa chance, maybe they like him too. He hopes and dances, committing every momentto memory.
