I think I’m at the point where i don’t want to see Echo again, and if you didn’t know Echo is my favorite character. I just want him to disappear with Cody to have their fates left up to us.

I’ll be honest i don’t trust the writers to do them justice at this point. They’ve made it very clear that they don’t care about Echo, and Cody was always a background character even in the clone wars. I went into this season expecting Echo to die (i think most of us did) but now i think it will just piss me off.

We’ve had one episode with Echo in it so far, I’m not counting the two episodes where he plays cab driver. Regardless of if you think Tech’s alive or not, you have to admit he had a good send off, it was built up the entire season. He had character development multiple episodes that focused on him even if some were filler. Echo hasn’t had that, so if they do kill him after being sidelined practically this entire show, what’s the point.

He’d be boiled down to a plot device (which i can argue the writers already have done). What purpose does he have but to hurt omega and the audience? I think that’s a big disservice to those of us that have been following his character since Rookies aired, to those of us that held the torch of him surviving after the citadel. I was there, i did my time on ff.net writing Echo survival stories, hell i found out he survived from my story blowing up with comments about if i saw the video.

Now again i wasn’t against him dying but i don’t think it’ll have the same emotional impact anymore. The writing this season has been so inconsistent and i think the show and characters are suffering for it. It’s really noticeable with Omega, the entire time she was on Tantiss she didn’t seem to care about anyone except Crosshair, Batcher, and Emerie (don’t even get me started on her). But the minute she sees Echo again (someone she knows cares about the regular clones) she’s upset about leaving them. Not one mention of them on Tantiss, doesn’t try to help them (i know she couldn’t have that’s not my point). Throughout the entire show the only one to care about them is Echo and the show itself is inconsistent on are they using stun bolts or not, oh they are but they’re also firing cannons at them????

I just don’t think the writers know where they want to take their characters, and plots are just pulled out of nowhere without any build up. This season started out with the potential of being my favorite but as it’s gone on I’ve just found myself disappointed.

an exmormon pet peeve: my best friend of over 10 years knows me really well and watched me go through my deconversion, but still does not seem to understand the depth and degree of harm that that experience caused me. every single time mormonism comes up i feel like i’m begging her to understand that, no, this is an extremely harmful cult that traumatized me. she’s one of those that says “oh, i think all religions are cults.” i understand what people mean when they say that, but it just comes off as incredibly dismissive.

and the thing is, i don’t think this is a specifically my best friend problem. i think it’s just generally the experience of interacting with people who have never experienced being in a cult or high demand religion. at the end of the day, they just can’t or don’t or won’t understand. and it’s so isolating because i don’t know any exmos irl, so i’m just left with mormons and never mormons. neither of whom will ever fully understand when i talk about my experience.

Something about the AI scraping stuff that is really wearing on me is about my best friend’s tumblr account. He’s been dead for nearing two years now and his tumblr account is still up. He can’t switch the toggle. His family didn’t know about his tumblr account because he was out on here and not to his family. I did contact tumblr when he passed about deleting his account, you can only do that if you’re an immediate family member.

So his stuff including photos of him and his classroom are going to get scrapped. Despite the fact he can’t give permission because he’s dead. It’s absolutely fucked.

PSA FOR FANFIC READERS:

Please make sure that if you’re gonna ask writers to responsibly tag/trigger their works that you’re gonna actually pay attention to those warnings.

Incredibly frustrating when you have it written in multiple places that you write dark content or you tag your fics in multiple ways so as not to trigger anyone and someone still gets upset with you over the content.

If you’re not going to read trigger warnings or content warnings, you don’t get to be upset if you don’t like the content of my fics.

Does anyone have those moments where your mouth and brain refuse to sync up?

Somewhere in a sentence will end up turning into gibberish (or may not even be able to start saying it) and you end up having…to…talk…really…slowly and purposefully to get the words out.

Rewind Midge arrived! HOWEVER

Her box is heavily crunched. Now it shouldn’t matter that I intend to open her, the fact that a doll at this high a price point comes damaged isn’t ok. Now when I ordered her the first time through Amazon, it was a warehouse damage and I was ok with that because the price point was adjusted to reflect that. (Sadly that’s the one that got eaten by the postal service) This one was through Walmart and NOT a ‘sold damaged’ one and had a full price tag (like $8 more than my first order). She was also shipped in just a plastic bag AND arrived 3 business days late.

Part of me wants to if he a complaint, but I know the only offer they’ll give is “return for a refund/replacement” and I don’t want to wait around. Like I said, I want to open her, but that doesn’t mean I was I going to throw out her box. I’m just uhg; the saga of Rewind Midge is never going to end is it?

i hate to be this person because i don’t normally like complaining about stuff on this blog. but i need to vent.

lately giffing hasn’t been as fun as rewarding on this site. almost every set i have posted lately has been flopping. and i know i shouldn’t be doing stuff for the notes but it’s hard to make posts when i feel like i’m screaming into the void. i put hours of time and thought and effort into my gifs and when no one sees them it just…sucks

i feel like ppl don’t really use/check edit tags anymore. and i don’t have a ton of mutuals/friends to tag. most of the notes i get are likes and people just don’t reblog anymore. i’m not expecting anyone to do anything about this just wanted to vent because it’s making me almost want to stop giffing on this site

It is 1:30 a.m., and I am thinking about how thrift store prices are becoming higher both bc of inflation but also I suspect bc the exploitation of trendiness.

Don’t get me wrong, I love that people are buying more secondhand stuff, bc that’s much more environmentally friendly and also wallet friendly than buying new! But also there do seem to be people who treat thrift stores like the cool new store to shop at and not a legit way to fight back against corporations and capitalism and also just to survive.

Sure I want to buy everything I see at the thrift store, but I don’t. I don’t need to take something I only kind of like that someone else might need. There was a really good post thread where people talked about how things aren’t supposed to be bought at thrift stores only to be turned into something completely new, bc what if someone needed what it originally was? Just try to prolong what you already have for as long as you can. It is possible to renew your joy with what you already have.

Thrifting is already becoming infected by overconsumption. And I don’t think reselling something that you thrifted but found something about it you didn’t like is the worst, but just buying something only to sell it again to make a profit is kind of a jerk move. Nowhere near as jerky as the 1% or anything, but still not cool.

Idk where I’m going with this. I’m probably preaching to the choir. I don’t know a lot about this, I’m still trying to learn more. I’m not the most sustainable person, I know that. I’m just in my feels about how thrift stores aren’t what they once were.
