#I love Cass but when has she shown interest in cooking other than loving to eat? Her tastes seem VERY similar to Jason's in canon.

Yes, poor people insist on eating cheap food and refusing to learn to cook. They wouldn't want better even if they did have the resources, that's just how they are by nature.
Thank you for correcting those ignorant Jason stans. Their headcanons of Jason being a good cook and enjoying fancy food are so seriously harmful.
Tumblr media
Cass (who canonically lacks a lot of home skills and greatly enjoys eating other people's food) is one of the best cooks. Bruce (canonically a terrible cook who can't even make a sandwich) "does okay"—sure, it's your headcanon. Alfred, the classy British guy, is logically a great cook and "super posh". We can sum up Tim's unimpressive cooking skills just briefly.
But we need an entire section describing your headcanon about how Jason can't cook and needs to stick to "poverty comfort foods", because he comes from a poor background.

don't you already write evil!Bruce, tho ? because you seem to genuinely think the worst of him as a person in general
Thanks for your ask, Anon.
Not at all! I do think Bruce is a good person at heart. I do think he genuinely loves his children. But I also think that he is often emotionally manipulative and even emotionally abusive and that he has serious issues communicating any of his positive feelings towards his children, possibly caused by the untreated PTSD that’s been haunting him since his parents’ deaths.
I mean, let’s look at some of the things he has done (or not done) in canon (aka, shit I am not making up):
Post Crisis:
Fired Dick from being Robin, then did not even bother to tell him that he had handed the red shirt to someone else.
Benched Jason after the entire Felipe Garzonas business, but did not bother to properly explain to him how or why.
When faced with the choice between tracking down his 15-year-old adopted son who had just run off to the other side of the globe or chasing after Joker… he went after Joker and did not even bother to send somebody else after Jason (can’t tell me there wasn’t a single responsible person Bruce knew that he couldn’t have asked for help here).
Didn’t bother to tell Dick that Jason had died.
When confronted by Dick about that, chose to yell at Dick and accuse him of just being jealous instead.
Congratulated Tim on cooking up an elaborate, illegal scheme to get out of an adoption after his parents died. Then encouraged him in getting even better at it.
Basically dumped Cass in a miniature Batcave to live in and repeatedly dismissed Barbara’s concerns that Cass should have a civilian life as well. (Granted: Cass was single-mindedly focused on being Batgirl at that time, too, but as we later find out, she does actually enjoy socializing to a certain degree, with the right people.)
Upon finding out that his formerly dead son has returned to the land of the living, has not ONCE told said son that he is happy he’s still alive. As a matter of fact, he has barely shown any interest in Jason’s resurrection outside of “must stop Red Hood” at all.
THREW A GODDAMN BATARANG INTO HIS SON’S NECK rather than let him kill the Joker.
In his last will and testimony, called Jason his “biggest failure” and blamed all his psychological issues on sexual abuse Jason suffered as a child, which is victim-blaming as fuck.
Gave Jason the silent treatment when he was LOCKED UP IN ARKHAM ASYLUM, begging to be taken anywhere but there and all but telling Bruce to ask him how he came back to life so he can finally get that off his chest.
In New 52/Rebirth:
Took Jason back to the place he died in a DELIBERATE attempt to trigger his memories of DYING. That is so fucked up I can’t even…
Has yet to apologize or show any remorse for above mentioned what-the-fuckery.
Lied to Jason (and everybody else) about Dick being dead.
Excluded Jason from family bonding moments despite presumably being on speaking terms at least. (E. g. the family portrait - no, he probably couldn’t have been in the official portrait, what with being officially/legally dead and all, but there was nothing stopping Bruce from getting at least a photo of all of them together that could be kept within the family and could have been taken by anyone, e. g. Alfred or Barbara).
In Arkhamverse:
Never trusts Dick with handling anything remotely dangerous on his own, right up until he knows he’s gonna “die” at the end of the night.
Constantly shoots down Tim’s attempts to help without any explanation as to why (so all that Tim hears is “you’re not good enough for this”).
Does not even thank his kids when they save his fucking ass from certain death.
Lies to Tim about Barbara being kidnapped. (Arkhamverse Tim has been aged up and is Barbara’s boyfriend - they get married after the game.)
Lies to Tim about Barbara being dead (spoilers: she’s not really dead, but Bruce didn’t know that until much later).
When asked by Tim to lock himself up because he is literally turning into a Joker!Batman (long story short, Joker mutated his own blood with a Venom formula and then infected several people including Bruce with it, which slowly turned them into psychopaths like him.), locks up Tim instead.
Disables Tim’s comms while he’s in lockup, which is the entire reason why they could not find Jason when he was in Joker’s clutches, so he’s deliberately doing to one Robin what got the previous one “killed”. That’s like a parent taking a cellphone from their second kid after the first kid died in a ditch because he had no phone to call 911 with.
By the way: Bruce had known about his Jokerization condition for nine months at this point and had not bothered to tell ANYONE.
Does not bother to tell anyone that Jason is the Arkham Knight. He told Alfred that Jason is alive and the player knows that Barbara knows Jason is the AK, but Bruce had no way of knowing that.
Does not tell any of the batkids or Lucius for that matter that he is merely faking his death rather than… you know… dying with Alfred in an explosion.
Does not bother to tell them that he faked it and is back in town after he returns as “Ghost”, three months later.
TLDR: as much as Bruce loves his children, he can be a really abusive jerk a lot of the time and I am not going to ignore that when I write him.
If I were writing evil Bruce, he’d have taken in Dick for nothing but the publicity, willingly abandoned Jason in the Asylum, not bothered to sacrifice his secret identity for Robin, and he certainly wouldn’t be upset about Barbara’s death. If I were to write Batman as evil, he would not care about the damage he does to his family by being emotionally abusive, but we know that he does care. He just considers the mission to be more important than almost anything else (with the exception of Talia and later - as in “later, when Bruce already knows that he’s very likely going to be dead or Joker by the end of the night” Barb and Tim).
