Why are they dressed up at the firehouse? (my theory)
TL;DR: Chief is going to run for mayor-Bobby is promoted as the new chief- Hen promoted to captain of the 118 permanently
The only time we've seen them dress up in their dress uniform is for either a funeral (Kevin) or for a passing probation celebration (Eddie). Now I would imagine dress wear would also be worn for any sort of commendation they'd receive for their hard work. But this is not something we've seen (although they deserve it) yet and honestly i don't think it would be a general like award for the team because the only thing that's been big enough to maybe warrant ceremony would be the cruise ship and the Chief would not give them a commendation for this. One because they went against orders and two because he's already stolen credit for it. Plus there at the firehouse and I feel like something like this would be done somewhere more public (like a city hall or something) but if the ceremony was only specific to one or maybe two people it would make sense it would be held at the firehouse. I'm also ruling out funeral cause I just don't think its that and theres no one to celebrate a probation with
I think it'll have something to do with the Chief and with Bobby. Now we know the Chief is gunning for the mayors job (politics oh boy) we've seen this in the way he's handled the incident with Hen (and the guys connections who he was protecting) and also in the way he took credit for the cruise ship rescue. Like Chief reeks of politics and so I feel like he's setting himself up to move into running for mayor (or any role within politics but Maddie made a comment about the Mayor soooo this is the path i'll choose) And I feel like Bobby is at the point in his career where moving up would make sense (I don't see him retiring ever). I feel like the chief has approached him and offered him the role of chief. I think they set up a ceremony with the ruse that Bobby will receive some sort of commendation for his years of service with the LAFD and so everyone has gathered for what they think is to celebrate bobby and it is just not in the way they think.
Chief announces he'll be running for mayor(moving to politics) and that in the transition period that Bobby will be being promoted to chief. Everyone is shocked but everyone is clapping and celebrating, Bobby get's up and makes a speech about his time at the 118, how they'll always be his family and that he's leaving them in good hands. Bobby then announces that Hen will be captain. This is a complete surprise as Hen wasn't expecting but then Denny, Mara and Karen appear and join in the celebrations as the news sinks in. Bobby steps down and says to Hen the job is hers only if she wants it and Hen accepts.
Also we get Ravi full time on the A shift as a fun little treat
Thanks to @buck-up-buck and @whollyjoly for letting me ramble. I also ramble in the tags XD

Howdy everyone! I am starting off the new year with a new s/i and a new f/o thanks to my partner @cherry-bomb-ships (in case ya didn’t know x3) we’ve been watching star trek: the next generation together and pretty much from the very first episode I started crushing hard on Data 0_0 I wanted to watch a little more before making any decisions and after talking w Ruby a bit I’m already pretty crazy about him!
My self insert, Jane Callisto (yes I’m using the same last name as my star wars s/i cause I like it) was a friend of the Crushers and babysat Wesley when she was a teen, and thanks to that Beverly wrote her a letter of recommendation to get into Starfleet Academy and eventually onto the Enterprise as a schoolteacher at the age of 26! She remains close friends with Wesley, which puts her in a position to get to know a certain cute android...

Yes please talk about your crossover!!!!!!
FOR YOU ANON I WILL!!! 🫡
I want to make more posts about it either here or on a side blog due to the brain rot I keep getting from thinking about it constantly. For now, I’m gonna do my best here to explain the general gist of it all! It’s still a bit rough tbh so my apologies if it makes 0 sense whatsoever and if it’s really long (which it already looks like it will be LMAO). It’s all gonna be under the read more so people who aren’t interested can scroll past it easily!
OH and before I continue, I’m gonna briefly discuss where it takes place in the canon timelines. So for Vbros, it’s after the movie. For Postal, it’s basically after the events for Postal 4. And for Eltingville Club, it’s after “This fan…This Monster!” but before the epilogue. For EC, it’s like an au where the club doesn’t immediately separate after the events of the comic fire yet are the verge of breaking apart. The club are around the same age as the Venture twins. (One more thing: if you ask me about any specific year it takes place in, I can’t tell you nor do I care that much about it sorry BWUSBWH)
It’s basically two stories happening at the same time, in different locations:
Story A is centered around Postal/Venture Brothers. This one is pretty underdeveloped because I haven’t came up with any reasoning for why The Postal Dude would be in NYC, how he even encounters Dean in the first place, and how he even discovers that he is a Venture (aka Jonas is his actual father. Not in the clone way, but in the normal way, making him and Rusty and the Monarch half brothers). Honestly, I just wanted to explore that last idea more and see some fun uncle and nephew bonding and shenanigans happen.
Story B, on the other hand, is pretty developed and consistent. Considering I made the Eltingville/Venture Brothers crossover first before I got fixated on Postal as well. I made an entire (and somewhat outdated) outline but to summarize it quickly: Hank moves out to go live with his new uncle Monarch temporarily to become more independent from his father (and also he didn’t want to go back to New York City because of Sirena). Basically still recovering from what happened and trying to find his way. He’s able to get a job at newly opened comic store in Eltingville (since the last one….burned down) and he encounters the club. Hank, against everyone else’s advice of “Do not talk to them”, talks to them since they’re so happen to be talking about Batman which ends with Hank asking if he can join. He gets laughed at by them, who don’t believe he’s really a Venture since what the hell is a supposed rich/famous kid doing working minimum wage as a comic book employee and Bill emphasizes that “We only allow authentic fans to join the club.” To prove his worth, Hank is challenged to a trivia off. If he wins, he’s in the club (as an unofficial official member or an “intern” as Bill calls it). If he loses, he doesn’t get to join the club and has to give them some valuable collectables for free, which Hank could get fired for. He gets until the end of the week to prepare for it since Hank argues with them for extra time and they all agree, thinking he’s gonna lose anyway. However, with Gary’s assistance and some secret help from Jerry (who thinks having a new member could be beneficial for the club), he ends up winning and becoming a part of the club!

before you adopt an "unusual" pet of any kind, I think it's really, really important to ask yourself why you absolutely need to have this specific species in your house. not just if you think you can take care of this pet, but why exactly you need this kind of pet, instead of a more common domestic animal which 1. will be better understood and researched due to many years of having lived in close quarters with people and 2. will be much, much easier to find proper vet care for.
I grew up with dogs. as a kid, I thought I wanted a pet dragon. seeing as this wish was somewhat difficult to grant for myself, as an adult, I sat down and evaluated what exactly it was kid-me thought would be so awesome about having a dragon for an animal companion.
"well," I told myself, "I really want a pet that's more emotionally guarded than a dog. something that won't love just anyone; I want to feel special by virtue of being 'chosen' by something that is normally aloof and hard to get close to. oh, and I want it to be cool-looking! it has to move all majestically and be sleek and elegant, and I want it to be fun to watch! I'm also drawn to the idea of misunderstood animals that people think are evil, but actually they're sensitive, beautiful, fascinating creatures, and we could learn so much from them if only we could overcome our own biases and see them for the raw, natural sincerity they embody!"
hopped on down to the shelter and picked up a cat

"I am sorry, L" - from Matsuda to L
as requested by: @where-tf-is-my-mind
It was written when I was 14, so keep that in mind lol It's not an in-depth heartbreaking powerful piece of writing. It's a silly little letter.
L... I'm Touta Matsuda.
I wonder if you remember me from up there...
I was part of the task force in charge of the Kira case, and I was one of the people who caused your death by not believing you.
I didn't think Yagami Light was Kira at all. I didn't expect that, honestly. He appeared like a decent person, I didn't think he was capable of murder.
It's true, appearances can be deceptive, and I'm sorry, nay, we're sorry, me and those few people left from the team.
Mr Yagami is dead... I think you already know. If there's a place where good people go, I'm sure he's there with you.
He was a great person. My heart aches every time I think about it. He gave his life for this case and was killed by his son. Not directly, but still… Light caused it, and he didn’t even seem to care.
But I don't want to talk about him here. Maybe I'll write to him, but I'm not sure if I'll have time.
I am still in the police, and I don't like your successor that much. I have a strong doubt that it was he the one who killed Mikami, using the Death Note.
I don't know what you think of him, and I wouldn't want to influence your opinion.
Aizawa has become my and Ide's boss. He's really good at his job, as am I.
I know I wasn't one of the best, when I worked with you and for you. I was a bit too childish. I realise that now, but I've changed… Slightly, I swear!
Even Aizawa said it, after a 'not' in front of it....
Rereading the last part I wrote… I realise it's stupid. I was going to erase it, but then I decided not to.
At least you remember the old days, when you were still alive, and maybe, really hoping you actually do, you'll smile.
You know what?
You didn't seem to smile very often, and you should have… And you should! We only have one life and there's no need to live it by being a sourpuss!
Aizawa is calling me. A new case will be assigned to the meticulous Matsuda!
I'll solve it, in honour of the greatest mentor I could’ve ever wished to have, Mr Yagami.
And you, of course, the world’s greatest detective.
I want to show you that I'm good at solving cases!
If only I had done it when you both were still here...
Regardless, watch me from up there!
Matsuda,
Faithful policeman.
