A team of Chowon, Sohee, Haein, Yunkyoung, and Monday would probably dominate Queendom Puzzle, that's why they're only allowed to watch. (I'm joking, but I'm not joking about wanting to see these five perform.)

shifts.
(part of my seventeen first love series!) [m.list]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis - working at a 24/7 hypermarket and thinking you're about to get killed is not fun...but the dude you meet is beautiful so hey worth it?
pairing — jeonghan x gn!reader (reader is called pretty once)
genre/s — fluff, jeonghan is a menace, friends older brother troupe if you squint, reader works at a hypermarket late at night
cw— mentions of dark streets and getting followed (but like not really because he thought you were someone else), one direction is mentioned for a second (yes this is a cw), a lot of cursing
w/c - 1k ish
Tumblr media
it's 11:03pm when your shift is finally over. it's a quiet friday night, the 24/7 hypermart you're working at is pretty empty which is perfect. most of your shift was spend in just organizing the shelfs and listening to music. that's why you love working here, it's easy money and it's near your house so why not?
“y/n! thank you so much for covering my shift today!”
“hey haein, how was your meeting?”
“um..it was fine haha, I know you like your 11-4am shift more but i had no choice, hope I'm not ruining your saturday”
“it's fine, I was free today anyway”
“let me get changed and you can log out” haein gives you a small smile.
haein is a year younger than you, you first met her when she randomly once ran into the shop at 1am in dire need of ramen. it looked like she was on the verge of tears. that told you enough, she was definitely your type of person.
“is it really that cold or are you dramatic?” haein chuckles looking at your large comically hoodie. you got it matching with her a few weeks ago. she wanted to thank you for putting up with her antics at early hours of the morning. you didn't refuse, a free hoodie is a free hoodie.
“it's December and I'm cold." you give her a glare (affectionate)
"don't leave the store until mark comes in and please dont put your headphones on, if someone walks in your need to greet them” haein gives you a small laugh with a salute and hugs you.
walking through this neighborhood has never been a problem. you know this place like the back of your hand, nothing could go-
“huh?” you turn around. there was something. you swear you felt someone walk behind you.
you look around for a minute, no ones around. that's when you decide to book it. taking a deep breath you start to run and crash into something, or, someone.
“haein chill out why the fuck are you running”
“who the fuck are you??”
you stare at the boy in front of you. long hair, lean frame and beautiful eyes-
“you're not haein.”
“last time i checked no I'm not” you quip back at him. being good looking does not excuse being a bitch.
“oh my god I'm so sorry” he extends his hand out to you which you take and pull yourself up.
“you have the same hoodie as my sister so i thought you were her.. I was planning to scare her so that i could ask why she was out so late I'm really sorry. it's just that usually her shifts ends right now and she takes this street home and”
“jeonghan?”
"you know me?"
it made sense. haein would come in sometimes and rant about her menace of a brother who she loved but sometimes was hard to deal with. for someone who has so much shit talked about him, damn does he look good.
you spend the next 5minutes telling jeonghan about how you know haein, the matching hoodies and why you were leaving the store at her shift time.
“she had a meeting with a club? she's not in any clubs?"
"I don't know I don't interrogate your sister"
“maybe you can” he hands his phone out and you give him a confused look
“put your number in, I'll ask you for sister updates. you can be my spy”
“that's creepy”
“I'm just concerned for her”
“still creepy”
“okay how about you give me your number because I think you're pretty”
you're so glad the street has barely any lights or he would've seen you red as a tomato right now. you quietly take his phone and put your number in, no further words needed.
jeonghan smiles at you and saves your number.
“I'll go meet haein now but I'll text you, you have good taste” and he walks away laughing. you stand there confused. what does he mean by good taste??
you start to walk home when it hits you. he pointed at your bag. a bag with a one direction badge on it that you put on when you were 12 and forgot about it.
“definitely a menace.”

The world is annoyingly beautiful so of course I want to live.
Hyunwoo and Haein's conversation at her Grandfather's funeral is such a reflective, thoughtful, calm pause amongst everything that's going on. She's truthfully telling him so openly that she wants to live. She's talking about her fear of being all alone, of passing into the unknown. All her emotions have led her to see the world, even during an affair as sad and gloomy as a funeral, as beautiful.
I also love that Hyunwoo has no words to comfort her. He's taking in what she's saying and despite promising her 'You'll live, I'll make sure of it' He knows deep down how helpless he really is. How glum things really look for her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it also show that support doesn't always mean comforting words. Sometimes it's someone who loves you failing at hiding their tears because they don't want you to see how utterly sad they are. It's them silently being there for you. Offering you their hand for support. That you can lean on them. That they're there for you in your sadness.
Tumblr media
I also love how Hae-in very readily accepts his hand. It's her way of telling him 'No matter how much you hide it I know... I know how sad this makes you. You can rely on me through it all as long as I'm here, as long as I can'
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And at the end when Hyunwoo refuses to look at her lest he give in to the tears threatening to fall from his eyes, Haein gives him a look. A beautiful smile adorned on her face she looks at him adoringly as if screaming:
'You and your love are annoyingly beautiful as well, so of course I want to live.'
Tumblr media
It's painful for both of them. They're trying not to show it for each others sake lest they give into despair but they're both so devasted.

It's Just Acting
Tumblr media
Disclaimers! Bad grammar, Not Proofread
Paring: Minji x Idol/actor!Reader
Masterlist: GG,   BG
Genre: fluff (enemies to lovers)
Synopsis: What happens when you are asked to play a lead in a new Kdrama series, about two high school girls falling in love at a very strict homophobic boarding school, but what you don't know is that your worst enemy Kim Minji from Newjeans was playing the lead's love interest.
requests are open!!!
Y/N was thrilled when she was offered the lead role in the new Kdrama series.
"I can't believe I get to play Lee Haein!" she exclaimed to her manager.
"It's a great opportunity," her manager replied. "But there's something you should know. Kim Minji has also been cast in the series to play Choi Sora." Y/N's heart sank. Kim Minji was her worst enemy in the industry. They had had several public feuds on social media and in interviews.
"You're kidding me," Y/N groaned. "I can't work with her!"
"I know it won't be easy," her manager said. "But you're a professional. You can rise above the tension and focus on your performance."
Y/N nodded, taking a deep breath."Okay. I'll do it."
On the first day of filming, Y/N walked onto the set and saw Minji for the first time since they were cast in the series. Minji walked up to her with a smirk on her face.
"Hello, Y/N. Long time no see." Y/N gritted her teeth, forcing a smile.
"Hi, Minji. Let's try to keep things professional, okay?"Minji shrugged.
"Suit yourself. But I can't promise I won't steal the show."As filming went on, Y/N and Minji barely spoke to each other off-camera. But when it came time to shoot an intimate scene between their characters, they had to put their differences aside and work together.Y/N was nervous as they rehearsed the scene.
"Remember, it's just acting," Minji whispered to her.
The cameras started rolling, and Y/N and Minji fell into their roles.
"I never thought this would happen," Sora confessed, blushing furiously. "But I can't deny how I feel anymore." Haein nodded in agreement, her heart racing with anticipation.
"Me neither," Haein said, taking Sora's hand in hers. "I think I might be falling in love with you too." And with that, the two young women shared their first kiss. Y/N felt a strange sensation in her heart. She had never felt this way about another woman before.
Weeks go by and after filming more intimate scenes was over, Y/N pulled Minji aside.
"I need to talk to you," she said.
"What is it?" Minji asked.
"I...I think I might have feelings for you," Y/N admitted, blushing. Minji's eyes widened in surprise.
"Really? I never would have guessed."Y/N laughed nervously. "I know we've had our differences, but I can't deny how I feel."
Minji smiled, taking Y/N's hand. "I feel the same way. Let's give this a chance."
As filming continued, Y/N and Minji grew closer and closer. The rest of the cast and crew were shocked by the news, but Y/N and Minji didn't care. They were happy together and that's all that mattered. The series was a huge success, and fans couldn't get enough of Y/N and Minji's chemistry on-screen. In the end, Y/N and Minji found love in each other, despite their initial animosity towards each other. It just goes to show that love can be found in unexpected places.

I really don't think we are talking enough about the range ksh's crying has. He's cried every episode, every episode and we've had outright bawling, tears pouring, stifled cries, teary eyes, happy tears, sad tears, devastated tears, hopeful tears, and it's the way his eyes can communicate all that he's feeling and how that is expounded further by the slightest facial movements and the tone of his voice.
And i know he's the king of crying, im sure the writer wrote the script and went who do I know who cries better than anyone, ah ksh, here's the script, no one can play it better. But I really think we need to appreciate the range more, he's never cried like this in previous dramas and certainly each ep his tears have been different, because he's been crying for different reasons and wow the actor he is.
I have not forgotten the "I love you haein-ah" tears, that alone deserves all the awards.

“Princess, you ready?” Wonwoo peeks through the door of your closet, looking at you who’s still staring into the mirror as you try to figure out what to wear. The distressed face that greets him is enough answer already; clearly you’re not ready yet. He huffs in amusement as he steps into the closet, his arm circling around your collarbones as he catches your eyes through the mirror. “What are you so nervous for? We're just meeting my cousin."
You look at him unimpressed, making Wonwoo laugh as he presses himself closer to you, his arm pulling you against his front.
"Alright, I know you're a fan of Byun Baekhyun but I promise he's just another hyung."
"Another hyung to you. He's THE Byun Baekhyun for me. How could you never tell me your cousin is dating him?!"
"Mmm, did I tell you they have a kid together already?" He says much too nonchalantly, his laughter echoing through your closet at the way you're gaping in disbelief.
"Jeon Wonwoo!" You turn around and hit him hard, though, really, with how buff he's getting, you're sure it's barely even a hit to him. "How did you forget to mention this kind of thing! You know how much I love that guy!"
He bites his lip to hold back a teasing grin, opting instead to squish your cheeks together and gives you a quick peck on the lips before you complain even further.
"Princess, to be fair, it is his personal life. And Yura is, like, my second cousin so I don't talk to her that much unless we have a big family gathering." He grins sheepishly; he knows you've always liked the singer, but it really goes past his head until recently because: 1. It's been quite some time since you gushed over him. And 2. He’s actually not that amused with you squealing over some man even if it’s a celebrity.
Now, he’s not jealous, but perhaps it doesn’t help that he actually knows Baekhyun so it annoys him more than if it had been some other celebrity. Plus, Baekhyun is your biggest celebrity crush; as much as you would’ve grinned and squealed a little over the other celebrities that you like (like Jung Haein, for example), it doesn’t really bother Wonwoo because that’s about it.
But Baekhyun?
You actually, shamelessly, squeal and grip his arm so tight that it hurts a little everytime Baekhyun performs on TV. Ironically, you’ve never attended his concert because your schedule is always packed everytime he’s holding one; you’ve even considered going abroad when he’s on tour, but it seems that the universe simply isn’t letting you see the singer because something always comes up.
Which is why you’re in your current predicament–because apparently one of his cousins is getting married and they’re throwing a party exclusively for the youngsters in the family. And when you’ve asked Wonwoo about the dress code and if there’s going to be media around, he has let it slip that, as far as he knows, some of his relatives are dating celebrities so you might want to dress a little more because he knows you like dressing up.
“Oh, really?” you had asked mindlessly, not actually curious, though your stance on the thing quickly changed the moment Wonwoo offhandedly mentioned that Yura would probably come with Baekhyun. You even asked for confirmation a hundred times that, yes, it is that Baekhyun.
“What is even the purpose of stressing over it?” He frowns in mock annoyance, squishing your cheeks harder. “He has a girlfriend and you have me.”
You giggle at the possessive tone, and you reach to circle your arms around his neck. Wonwoo has to lean down a little to let you do this because of his height, but what’s a little discomfort if he gets to enjoy your warmth like this?
“Is that jealousy, Mr. Jeon?”
You know it’s not. Wonwoo isn’t that kind of boyfriend and it’s very attractive, to be quite honest, the way he’s very assured with his presence in your life and the relationship between the two of you. So you know this is just him messing around, indulging you in your little game because he knows you like it when he’s acting a little jealous.
You don’t have to know Wonwoo is actually a little jealous, not because he feels threatened but because of how absorbed you get when you watch the singer to the point of ignoring him most of the time. Perhaps annoyance is a little more fitting than jealousy.
“Just wear something and be done already.” He pretends to be annoyed, though he still drops another kiss to your lips before he reminds you that you need to leave in fifteen minutes. He doesn’t give you any room to complain, already walking out of the closet to see if there’s any important call he needs to make before he turns off his work phone for the day.
It’s something that you’ve both promised to each other: to turn off your work phones when you’re out for non business functions or out on a date with each other. Chan and Seungcheol would know to call your private numbers if there’s anything urgent you’d need to attend during those time.
The rule came to be after a fight between you two just last month, one that ended up with you refusing to talk to Wonwoo for a whole night because he kept on glancing at his phone when you were supposed to be having your date after so long. Apparently, he already promised one of his partners that he’d be on standby to discuss something, forgetting that he had promised to go on a date with you that night.
Usually, you wouldn’t have minded, but it had actually been months since you got to go on a proper date with Wonwoo with the two of you being busy. Your dates had been reduced to nights in his penthouse or quick lunches in the middle of the days. Which was why you had been quite giddy that night, because as much as you’re glad that at least you got to be with him all that time, you had missed going out and spending time with Wonwoo outside. Hence the fight and everything that followed after that.
Wonwoo’s about to stand up and remind you again when you finally step into the living room, wrapped beautifully in a summer dress that stops right above your knees. You’ve finally let down whatever that was on your head when he stepped into the closet earlier, and he just can’t help but marvel at how you look despite having seen you dolled up countless times. Your makeup isn’t as bold as it usually is during night parties, and he notices you’ve opted to go for a softer look except for the dark ruby painting your lips.
Gosh. Those lips.
“How do I loo–” you laugh a little when he smothers your mouth with his, amused at how he didn’t even waste a second to stand up and press his lips against yours; he’s always had a thing for this particular shade, and you may or may not put that on for that exact reason. You hum into the kiss, ravel on the soft way his palms are holding your face while yours stay on his shoulders because you really don’t want to mess up his gelled up hair.
“Does that answer you?” He whispers after pulling away, a little out of breath even though the kiss is nowhere near intense.
Pink colors your cheek at the way he’s looking at you, and you instead choose to tease him about the color your lips have transferred unto his. You move away to get some tissue, but he gives you another short kiss because he can’t help himself and he really doesn’t see why he should hold back.
“‘Kay, you dork. You said we need to leave in fifteen minutes.” You pull away to hide the warmth that has made its way to your entire face, though you really don’t know why you’d do that with Wonwoo of all people. He already knows the telltale of your everything.
“Right. Do you think it’s possible to change your lipstick? I don’t want Baekhyun to see you like this.”
He would never get tired of the sound of your laughter.
Tumblr media
All things considered, Wonwoo is impressed the only thing you’ve done so far after spotting Byun Baekhyun is grip his arm harder.
He hasn’t even seen the hint of you hiding a grin, and he’s about to tease you about holding yourself back when Yura herself makes her way to you with her boyfriend in tow. At this, he almost winces when your fingers actually dig into his skin.
“Hi Jeon.” She grins at him before greeting you too, and you can’t help but notice how beautiful this relative of Wonwoo is. You’ve only met her twice probably, with this being the third time, but you have nothing but good impressions of the girl because she’s nothing like the snobby part of this family. “A bit late to say this, but, about time you two got together.”
You scrunch your nose at this, a comment that you’d never get used to and have heard one too many times after Jeonghan’s parents’ party–which was already six months ago. And you’re still hearing this comment to this day like you’ve just announced your relationship with the Jeons’ youngest heir last week.
“This is Baekhyun, by the way, you might’ve heard of him,” Yura introduces her boyfriend like he’s not literally one of the best selling singers in the country. But you suppose being around rich businessmen has made Yura aware that a lot of people in this circle aren’t always aware of celebrities.
Wonwoo does the honor of introducing you, and you almost burst into a grin when Baekhyun says he’s seen you in business magazines from time to time, and he’s heard about the foundation you’re currently running; that he admires you for doing it and that he’d be happy if he can take part in it in anyway.
At his words, you finally release your lip from the confinement of your teeth and smile widely; being his fan is one thing, being a part of Daisy Foundation and listening to your idol taking genuine interest in the good cause you’re helping is another. After that, conversation flows easily, because you’re no longer standing there as his fangirl, you’re standing in front of him as one of the founders of Daisy Foundation and you inform him on your upcoming activities that he might be interested in.
Roughly, it’s only been about three months since the foundation was established because preparation takes time and you need to hand over your assignments to your successor in the company. Even so, you and Shua are already flooded with donations because of the announcement that spread through after the party. Plus, it helps that you both are used to this, so you’re really just doing your usual stuff on a bigger scale.
“Look at you, talking confidently with your idol.” Wonwoo whispers once Yura leaves, his breath tickling your ears. You smile abashedly at him, more giddy at the prospect that he’s interested in your foundation. He even leaves you his private number, promises to arrange another schedule to talk about it properly because he really wants to be a part of this good cause.
“I’m just glad he turns out to be an actually kind person,” you say instead, your soft smile and the way you sigh in relief prompts him to smile too. He doesn’t say anything at that, simply kisses your head and steers you to your assigned table because the party is about to officially start.
It’s about an hour later that you spot Baekhyun and Yura again, this time with an adorable little kid that seems to be two or three years old. You send a questioning glance to Wonwoo, one that he answers with a nod because he knows you’re asking if the child in question is their child–one that he mentioned just a few hours ago.
You didn’t get to ask anything more though, because the family has made their way to where you’re both at and you can’t help the soft grin that made its way to your face at the sight of the small child. You’re not the biggest fan of children; you don’t hate them, but you’re really just indifferent. Yes, some of them are cute, but that’s about it.
“This is Sera, our child.” Yura introduces as she carries her daughter and she hides herself in her mom’s neck and, frankly speaking, this is the first time you ever feel like squealing at the sight of a child. “She’s a bit shy, sorry.”
“It’s okay. How old is she?” You smile, trying to get Sera’s attention by tickling her leg.
“Turning three this year. She’s fairly quiet for her age, though.” It’s Baekhyun who answers, and you can almost hear the pout in his voice–perhaps he wishes she was more talkative than she is now.
“Mmm. Lots of the kids that go to our art classes tend to be that way too. We only have three to four kids around her age though, so what do I know?” You shrug with a grin. “Do you like to color, Sera?”
Something that you said grabs her attention, and you hear Yura giggle when Sera whispers something softly as you melt at the interaction. Wonwoo observes the scene in amusement, having never seen you gush over a kid. He listens to the pair ask you about the course kids her age usually take in Shua’s studio, and you happily answer as you flail your hands here and there to explain the program to them.
Sera seems to warm up to you real quick due to this, and Wonwoo really should know better than to let his guard down because his heart almost bursts when he sees Sera extend her arms to you, asking for you to carry her in her silent way. He thought that was it, but something blooms in his chest and he really almost loses it when you grin and take her in your arms, making the girl giggle at the way you’re bouncing her up and down.
Her giggle eventually turns into laughter, her short arms wrapping around you and Wonwoo thinks he can’t take anymore of this when you turn to him with Sera in your arms, looking at him with eyes reflecting all the stars in the sky and grinning bigger than he’s ever seen.
“You like that, baby?” you say in a small voice, making Sera laugh harder at the way you’re tickling her belly.
Wonwoo decides he’s had enough, so he clears his throat and takes Sera from you, carrying her in his arms and lets her smooch his cheek because she’s always liked to do that. It would be much better for his heart to see you play with Sera in his arms than the whole thing he’s witnessed earlier. He’s loved you enough already, there’s really no reason to make his heart swell even more and fill his head with the image of you carrying your own child.
The thought of starting a family with you has always been something that Wonwoo tries not to dwell too much on. It’s much too dangerous. As much as he believes you’re both are it, your relationship is still pretty new and he doesn’t want to entertain those thoughts for now. Plus, he’s never really talked about it with you for the obvious reason of your relationship having only been going on for less than a year, but he knows you’re pretty much indifferent when it comes to them in general.
Huh. Do you want a child?
Woah.
Back pedal, back pedal.
This is not the time to think about that.
“Maybe we should enroll Sera in your class.” He hears his cousin say, zoning back into the conversation at hand. “She seems to like you a lot. It’s not often that she gets comfortable with someone this fast. Do you teach also or…?”
“Well, not always. But I can tell you when I’d be teaching so Sera can take the class when I’m around,” you offer and tell them that you understand why they might be uncomfortable or more worried if she’s handled by the other teachers though you assure them they’re all good.
After talking some more, the little family decides to go around again to the dessert stall; as Sera has actually just arrived with her babysitter, hence why she wasn’t with them earlier.
“You really went from not knowing Baekhyun has a child to getting cozy with said child in one day, huh?” Wonwoo nudges you, a little surprised when you simply hug his arm and bury yourself into his shoulder. It’s not often that you’re shy, at least not in front of him, but with the way you’re biting your smile and hiding in his shoulder, it’s clear that you have something in your mind that you don't intend to share with him just yet.
It’s later that night that he finds out by accident. He’s in the bedroom waiting for you, wondering if you forgot you need to wake up early tomorrow because it’s been an hour since you said you’d just call Chaeyoung real quick before you join him for bed. He meant to go down to remind you it’s almost midnight, but he finds himself hovering by the stairs, heart almost stopping at your giddy tone.
“She’s so cute, Chaeng. You know I’m always a little eh with kids, right? But she’s so cute and she hides her face in my neck and stuff? And she kisses Wonwoo too! Gosh, my heart almost goes out of my chest when he holds her–Mmm. What? Not really, no. I’ve… never talked about it yet with Wonwoo, to be honest?”
A pause, and then.
“Mmm. Yeah. Our children, huh?”
You don’t know how Wonwoo barely sleeps that night with you sleeping soundly in his arms, your words followed by your soft laugh replaying in his mind over and over again.
Our children, huh? Never really thought about it before, but it does have a nice ring to it.
Tumblr media
Frankly speaking, Wonwoo has never thought he’d find himself in such a predicament.
You haven’t been replying to his texts all day, but he knows you’re packed today with classes and everything. Seungcheol isn’t replying either, but that assistant of yours might’ve simply run out of batteries because it wouldn’t be the first time.
But when he gets home early for once and hears you before he even sees you, he definitely didn’t expect you to be on the sofa with Sera happily snuggled to your chest.
Nope. He’s definitely not strong enough for this.
“Hi.” You grin, waving Sera’s arm as the little girl babbles his name.
“Not that I’m complaining but… why is she here?” he asks after his heart starts beating again. It’s an exaggeration, but that’s really how it felt like for a second there.
“She’s in class earlier but something came up with her babysitter who usually waits around, and her parents aren’t able to pick her up til dinner so I offered to take care of her?” Your explanation sounds unsure, and Wonwoo presses his lips together at how adorable you look right now with Sera on your lap.
After what he accidentally overheard almost two weeks ago, this really isn’t helping him with his mission to get rid of the thought. He looks down at Sera, safely snuggled into your chest as her short fingers grip the neckline of your shirt. Your arms are wrapped around her, and he can’t help but think how domestic all of this seems to be.
Fuck. How would it feel to come home to you and his child cuddled together like this?
He shakes his head in hope it’ll shake away the thought, and when you ask if he’s okay, he sends you a tight smile and drops a kiss to your cheek, telling you he’s going to wash up and that you should order in for early dinner even if it's barely 6 in the evening. Sera would be famished otherwise and you did mention her parents would only be able to pick her up somewhere after eight, anyway.
He didn't expect you'd let it go that easily. But somehow, that’s enough to satisfy you, and Wonwoo turns to head upstairs, ears red when he hears your pitched up voice talking to Sera, asking if she wants chicken also.
God knows how much he needs fucking shower to cool down before he explodes.
But, apparently, God decides he’s only allowed to cool down for nothing but a short moment because you’re nuzzling into Sera’s cheek when Wonwoo returns to the living room. He’s starting to believe he’ll just die a happy man by the end of the day. He doesn’t even care if he’s exaggerating at this point; he’s seen you with kids before, but he’s never seen you so whipped with one that he doesn’t know how to react.
Is he even being obvious with his staring?
He doesn’t really care either.
“You ordered already?” He asks to get out of his trance, to announce his presence while he’s at it. He needs you to pull away from the child because he’s too young for a heart attack.
“Yeah. But they say it might take longer because they’re busier than usual.” You stand up from your seat and take Sera into your arms, walking to where he’s at for reasons that he doesn’t understand.
Perhaps you want to see his soul leaving him up close with how domestic you’re looking right now. God, you’re not fair at all.
“She’s been calling for her Uncle Wonwoo.” You scrunch your nose and hand her to him. You melt at the gentle way he takes her from you, at the way Sera quickly wraps her arms around his neck and giggles when he asks if she’s been good.
If you’re to be completely honest, the thought of having kids never really occurred to you even though you’re completely enamored by the man beside you. You’ve imagined getting married to him (yes, you already have even though it’s only been months since you realized you’re romantically invested in your best friend), but it has never crossed your mind that you might want to have a child with him for the sole reason of you’ve never really been fixated at the idea of being a mother–a parent with how yours treated you.
Well, until that talk with Chaeyoung, that is.
Seeing Wonwoo like this makes your inside buzz with something that you’re not familiar with. It’s not unpleasant though, and you welcome it with every fiber of your being. It makes you a little flustered, but you don’t really mind because how can you if you get to see Wonwoo smile softly at Sera and poke his nose into her cheek to make the little girl laugh.
It’s almost two hours later that the both of you end up sprawled on the sofa, with Sera on your lap and your head leaning on Wonwoo’s shoulder. The three of you are pressed against each other, Sera is falling asleep with her head against your chest and the two of you whisper to each other as not to wake her–whatever’s playing on the TV long forgotten and its faint sound serving as nothing but background noise.
“I’ve never seen you like a kid this much,” he says as he presses a kiss on your temple. His eyes travel to the fingers gripping the material of your shirt, and then to your palm that’s rubbing her back up and down to lull her to sleep.
“Me neither.” You grin up at him before your palm moves from her back to her hair. “But she is so cute though. Do you think I might be biased because she’s Baekkhyun’s child?”
The look Wonwoo gives you would’ve made you snort loudly if not for the little angel on your lap, so you settle for a soft laugh before you caught your lip between your teeth to stop yourself from laughing louder.
“Kidding,” you add when you don’t feel like laughing anymore, and then presses your cheek to his shoulder to tell him how she’s probably the most peaceful child you’ve ever seen so that probably helps. “She’s so excited in class, Won! But she tries so much not to be too messy even though we said it’s okay?”
Wonwoo stays silent as you continue to talk about the kids in your classroom, another episode from today’s open class, and then Shua who is still overwhelmed about the sudden responsibility. He’s always liked it when you do this, just go on and on about your day and what’s memorable because you want to share it with him. It makes him feel like he’s a part of your day even though he’s not physically there to witness them all the time.
When the intercom finally beeps, it’s almost ninein the evening and Sera is soundly asleep against your chest, her arms limply stay on her sides. Wonwoo goes to the door as you stay there, not wanting to wake the girl up. Yura almost squeals when she sees the position you’re in, and you smile sheepishly at Yura as you tell her that the girl has been asleep for about 30 minutes.
“I’m so sorry it took me long,” she apologizes as she tries to take Sera from you. “Baek is actually outside the country and my dinner appointment was in Incheon. The traffic to get here… God. I’m never attending dinner meetings anymore if it’s not in Seoul.”
You shake your head and tell her it’s okay and you had fun; that you’re glad you’re able to help. Yura thanks you both once again, Sera now curled in her arms, and promises that she’d treat you both for dinner some time for this favor. She doesn’t forget to thank you also about the class, mentions that it’s obvious now Sera is comfortable with you like with no others.
After Yura leaves the penthouse, you finish what’s left over your dinner and clean up before you take turns to shower. You’re sitting against the headboard when Wonwoo steps out of the bathroom, scrolling something in your phone–an action that you immediately stop once you see him already fresh in his pajamas, then pats the space next to you like that’s not where Wonwoo is heading to already.
He immediately dives into your neck, startling you a little, his arms wrap around your waist as he maneuvers the both of you so his head is laying on your chest as he listens to your erratic heartbeat. Gosh, it’s embarrassing how things like this still get a reaction out of you.
“Long day?” you ask as your fingers start to comb his hair. It’s something that comforts him, you found out only recently, and you’ve been doing it since when you feel like he’s extra tired or he’s simply there on your lap. “Sorry I didn’t get to text you the whole day.”
“Not really. Just feel like holding you.”
It’s not funny the way your breath gets caught on your throat at the obvious tone he’s using; like it’s just a well known fact you should already be aware of. Something blooms across your chest, and you’re sure Wonwoo is just being kind by not addressing the way your heartbeat picks up at his words.
“When did you get so cheesy.” You pretend to grumble even if you know Wonwoo knew how much you like it when he says things like that out of nowhere.
He chuckles softly, and then lets go of you to sit properly and pulls you into his lap instead. You don’t complain at the sudden change of position–why would you?–and you settle into the crook of his neck, sighing in satisfaction at how comfortable this feels to you. How natural too, like you’re meant to be with him this way no matter what.
“Can I ask you something?” You think you know what he’s going to say and you’re not sure you’re ready for it yet, but you nod anyway and trace his kind with mindless patterns. “What do you think about kids?”
Despite knowing the answer already, you’re still unsure how to answer him directly, too shy to say anything. You don’t want to make him awkward though, so you hum as if pretending to think even though the words are already on the tip of your tongue.
“Whose?”
Wonwoo blinks, amused at the way you’re baiting him. He’ll take anything though, and he’s just glad you’re not being weird about it.
“Ours.”
He can hear you take a sharp breath at his answer, feel the way your fingers stop moving and the way you press your head deeper into his neck. He’s not in any place to judge though, because he can feel his ears getting hot too at the topic of this conversation. You haven’t even talked about marriage, but you’re already talking about kids though Wonwoo has no one he’d rather talk this with but you.
After all, he doesn’t think he wants to have any kids if it’s not with you.
“I don’t know,” you whisper honestly, and Wonwoo takes your finger in his because you’re fidgeting a little, perhaps nervous from the topic. “I… have never really thought about it until recently but… I’m not against it… I think?”
Wonwoo almost laughs at your unsure tone, finding you adorable for no reason at all. God, he’s even more whipped now that you’re together and it’s not even funny. On the other hand, he feels himself relaxing at your answer; he knows you, and he knows you would’ve said you don’t want kids if you really don’t. So this means that at least you’re considering it–considering having kids with him. It’s not going to happen anytime soon, Wonwoo thinks, but it still makes him happy to know this is how you feel.
“How about you?” you ask back, your voice tiny.
He hums, his fingers that aren’t holding yours find purchase in your hair as he combs through it.
“I don’t mind anything as long as it's with you.” He answers honestly, his tone so genuine that you don’t even have it in you to tease him once again about being cheesy. You even tear up a little, because what did you do to receive a love this big?
You pull away from him to meet his eyes, and he sends you a soft smile that gets you giddy inside that you can’t not return the smile. The two of you spend a few moments just like that, looking at each other with silly smiles on your faces without words. It’s you who break the silence, though your eyes have moved from his eyes, instead focusing on the way your fingers are intertwined together before you say your next words, almost making Wonwoo combust inside.
“I think I don’t mind kids too if it’s with you,” you say shyly, not able to look at Wonwoo in the eyes as you say this. His heart soars beyond limit, but it's not even a second later that it breaks into pieces when you continue your words. “Though… I… I won’t be like my parents, right?”
“Oh, princess,” he whispers sadly, his palm reaching for your cheek to caress your skin. You close your eyes at the feeling, and you lean into his touch because it’s always the source of your comfort. “You won’t, okay? I promise we won’t. You trust me, right, love?”
You open your eyes as you nod, heart melting at his new favorite nickname to call you.
“You know I will call you out if you do something you’re not supposed to and I know you’d do the same for me,” he reminds you, eyes never leaving yours the whole time. “And that’s why we’re good, okay?”
“Okay.” You return his smile, though after a few moments it turns into a giggle and Wonwoo asks what prompts your laughter. “Isn’t it funny? We’re already talking about this when we haven't even talked about marriage yet."
Wonwoo grins at this, no longer caring that his heart is beating to a very erratic rhythm because this talk is too good to be true. He didn’t expect to talk about kids and marriage this soon with you. It’s something that he keeps to himself because he doesn’t want you to feel like he’s rushing you. He’s happy with keeping it to himself too, as he himself definitely isn't in any rush, he’s content having you by his side, happy that you’re both happy together. That’s already more than he could’ve asked.
“Yet?” he teases despite everything. “So you do think about getting married to me.”
You roll your eyes even though you can feel your face getting hot at his words, but you don’t deny anything and simply mumbles that he’s annoying. Thankfully, he doesn’t want to torture you any longer, and he chuckles a little more before pulling you back into his lap, sighs blissfully when you bury yourself into his neck and your lips graze the skin there.
It’s not long until you end up kissing each other; but just like your relationship, there’s no rush there–only your lips against his over and over again. The way he holds you is gentle, almost like he’s afraid you’ll break if he holds you a tad bit tighter, and your fingers don’t root themselves in his hair like they usually would–they’re simply planted on his shoulder and the back of his neck, playing with the tip of his hair.
No one fights for dominance, and you hum in pure delight when Wonwoo retorts to giving you short pecks over and over again, eventually making you laugh at the ticklish feeling against your lips. In the end, you pull him closer by wrapping your arms around his neck, and he returns the gesture by wrapping his around your waist, the content sound that leaves his lips as he’s kissing you sends shivers down your spine.
“I love you, alright?” he whispers tenderly, his lips touching yours everytime they move even the slightest way. “Always remember that.”
You nod, pressing your lips together to hold yourself back from crying. And even though you don’t say it back with your words, Wonwoo knows exactly what you mean when your lips find their way back to his.

you know what I think? i think this family doesn't have boundaries and is full of crazy bitches is what I think! they entered Hyunwoo and Haein's house while they were away and even went through Hyunwoo's personal stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HaeIn's brother and his shocked face kill me everytime!
I fully believe HyunWoo deserves the pain and upcoming "punishment" from his wife, but from the rest of the family? nah. In a way, I think they got what they deserve, because it seems the only people with braincells are Haein and her aunt. The only reason others have not taken them for fools is because HyunWoo has been there to protect them legally from problems. There's little he could do about people infiltrating the family (grandpa's mistress, mother's secretary and SooCheol's wife) and he only started having suspicions towards the villain is because he went straight to mess with HaeIn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They really are, HaeIn. You're family is doomed without you and HyunWoo. Please don't die!
Anyway, HyunWoo has been loyal to the family all this time, putting all his energy into the work at the office AND into the strange meetings, hunting trips, memorials, or whatever. He barely has had any time to visit his own family. For that, I do have sympathy.
He has to face consequences for being a crappy husband and wishing his wife dies after 3 months. But now he knows he was in the wrong and knows he still loves her and doesn't want to loose her. But again, all of that is covered by HaeIn, the one who gets to be angry at him and forgive him is her. And no one else in the family has a say in the matter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And my god, I'm sure it will be him and HaeIn who will save the family from the whole mess, because they're all too stupid and had allowed the wrong people into the family and their secrets. HaeIn was right, everybody in that family is stupid.

prompt: reader and jennie sleeping together. reader is awake and contemplates on kissing jennie because she might wake her up. reader leans in only to hesitate centimeters away out of embarrassment. jennie opens her eyes and says, 'Well if you won't do it, I will.'
pairing/genre: jennie x reader with lots of fluff
Tumblr media
Blackpink recently finished their Seoul concert yesterday. There were a lot of people who watched the group. It may be a kid, an athlete, a politician, an idol, or a celebrity—you name it, everyone is there to watch the biggest girl group in the world; and as the girls' photographer, your main duty is to take pictures of the group whether it's from rehearsals, soundchecks, and concert itself. You made sure that you would capture the girls' best angles and their cute moments on and off the stage. To be honest, you don't find it hard because the bond that they have is natural and every angle of the girls' is their best one, so you undeniably always have something beautiful to capture.
You are scrolling through those pictures that you took yesterday on your laptop. You find it funny because most of the pictures were cute candids of the girls. There is a picture of Chaeyoung eating a whole orange; Jennie bringing Kuma to their practice; Lisa annoying the hell out of Jisoo at their rehearsal; Jisoo and Haein doing a wacky pose backstage; Lisa laughing with her idol friends; and a whole lot of pictures that you know the girls and their management would like. When you are filtering the approved and rejected photos that you will send to the management, one photo catches your eye in particular—it is Jennie on one of their sound checks. She is looking at your camera with her genuine smile plastered on her face. You smiled as you remembered the entire story behind the photograph.
*Soundcheck Day 2*
You are taking pictures of the group on their day 2 soundcheck. There were a lot of people in the venue, but since the ticket is just limited being it as for soundcheck, it is not somehow crowded, so you are free to roam around the venue without any fans barging and distracting you from taking pictures. You are thankful for their fans, but you avoid scenarios that would stop you from doing your job, because last time a fan kept on asking you to fill her bag with confetti, you missed a lot of good shots because you got too busy raking the confetti like a damn autumn leaves to put in the fan's basket. As you were taking pictures of the girls, your eye caught Jennie having fun interacting with their fans. Jennie's happiness radiates throughout the whole venue, and you are happy for her because Jennie always tells you that she missed performing and interacting with their fans on stage, so for her to experience it today is enough for you to understand that she is really happy right now. You are watching her through your camera lens with such adoration. Jennie found your camera and said, "I love you." Some might think that it was directed at the fans, but little did they know that those words were solely meant for you. You mouthed back the same words, and Jennie blushed and smiled. Seeing your favorite smile on her, you immediately took a photo of it and winked at Jennie.
______
You smiled, remembering what happened in the picture. You look at the girl beside you and admire her beauty. You are ready to risk it all for her. You would do anything and everything if that meant that it would result in her happiness. You are willing to lose sight of all the colors in the world if that means that she will always be happy to see the beauty of life. If it costs you a life in order for her to breathe, no questions asked, and you are ready to die for her.
"It will always be a fair trade when your happiness is involved. Even if it cost me my life, I would do it. That's how much I love you. It's always you, Jennie." you whispered in her ear. You are centimeters away from her lips when you get embarrassed and pull away. You blushed because it just sank in to you how much you love Jennie Kim. Once you pulled away, you started scrolling on your laptop once again when you heard her voice.
"Well, if you don't do it, I will," Jennie said. She grumpily woke up and kissed your lips. "Why did you pull away? I was expecting a kiss" she said, after she pecked your lips again. You are confused and embarrassed because it just meant one thing: Jennie was already awake when you were being emotional because of a photo you took of her. "I'm sorry. I don't want to wake you" you shyly said. Jennie smiled at you and kissed you once more. This time it was a passionate one. It is not rushed nor wild. It is more of a reassuring and genuine kiss. You figured that it was kind of how Jennie responded to the words you uttered a while back, and even though you were already a year together, the high and excitement that you were feeling never faltered. You are so lucky that amidst all the people who are trying to catch Jennie's heart. She chose you. Jennie chose you.
"Don't expect me to continue sleeping when you confess how much you love me. To be fair, I feel the same way. I will always choose you, Y/N" Jennie said.

The divorce is really not divorcing they keep proving how much they love each other and I think they're saving hae in actually talking and showing her emotions to him until she legit explodes and gives him a romantic speech like this girlie is thinking about how she hasn't said she loved him yet as she's maybe thinks she's literally dying in the preview (although it might be misleading) but when they're talking Hyun woo is still the one who is saying he regrets things and he should've talked to her more and that he would've regretted not marrying her and she's still keeping up the facade and saying things she 100% doesn't mean. You know how we're getting the role reversal here and we usually get those romantic speeches from the cold ceos this is it...
YES YES YES BINGO!!!!!! think about 99% of the kdramas we have seen and then re-contectualize haein and hyunwoo and you will see how beautifully park ji eun (the writer) has dismantled the very foundations of kdramas and gone "okay but WHAT IF". hyunwoo is the classic sacrificial poor female lead and haein is the cold tsundere ceo, and i think that is why the drama has become SO popular, because it's just such a fresh take on a classic story.
if hyunwoo told haein that i will fight for you and your family even if i am not yours, haein in return said okay, but i will jump off a cliff for you without you even knowing. that's their kind of love and who they are, so how can anything or anyone come in between that? once they realize it fully.........i don't think even death could dare to separate them.
i think her exploding scene will be coming up there's this one scene in the trailers where she is sobbing uncontrollably with hyunwoo and i have been waiting AGES for it

Queen of Tears is so interesting cause i've never dealt with two really complex leads like this in romcom (i mean it is funny)
i've said it before but Haein and Hyunwoo know each other very well but don't know each other at all (i don't know if i've ever seen communication issues this bad).
Losing the baby clearly drove them apart. She blamed herself and put up high walls. He wears his heart on his sleeve and cried over it. We can argue that he should've comforted her in that moment but at the same time she clearly knew he was upset so why didn't she go to him? Haein thought she had no right to grieve and consequently Hyunwoo thought she didn't grieve at all. The moment where they needed each other more than ever- the moment they should've been together they both fucked up.
The core of the issue is that they can't read each other's mind, this is literally said at the beginning of 6- they love each other dearly but also tripping over each in the process.
Outside of Hyunwoo jumping up and down at her diagnosis and faking his way into her will (which was painfully cruel and soooo funny) It's very clear that this is a two person game. Although I always interpreted Hyunwoo's joy as the same as the mistress of a wealthy man who is just waiting for him to die so she can get the money, (it's mean but most times the master either sucks or he's naive as hell and she has no reason to mourn) and at that point Hyunwoo's in the same situation.
Why didn't Haein defend him in front of her relatives? Why scold him publicly in front of the employees? She does a lot of things behind the scenes but good intentions can only go so far if object of those affections is ignorant of the full story. The same thing happens in episode 6, she is trying to protect Hyunwoo from her family but without telling him so he is ignorant of the big picture. Why wasn't Hyunwoo honest with his feelings? Why is he always assuming the worst when she never explicitly says something? We see he tries to talk to her (it fails) but his fear of upsetting her leads him to do otherwise cruel things to keep her happy.
Which is also why the divorce paper is so interesting. That paper was one of the best things he’s done. He was completely justified in writing that. It breaks Haein's heart but severing ties like that was way healthier than him forcing himself to stay in this marriage and pamper her with fake love.
One thing I will admire this piece for is the role reversal, like i'm seeing so many typical fl tropes on Hyunwoo and ml tropes on Haein. You ever read one those isekai or time reverse manwha's were the fl goes back in time to get a divorce but falls in love with her partner again? yeah this is the same exact thing.

Really really random thought
But if some of the S rank hunters had an S/O, I think it would go really badly if someone ever tried to flirt with their S/O anywhere near their proximity.
I mean, the national ranked hunters can essentially do whatever they want without consequences and it’s implied that they don’t hesitate to commit horrifying crimes if pissed off.
Some S ranks are definitely on the nicer sider though (cha haein, lennert)
Still, I don’t see it ending in any other way that a bloodbath for certain people(zhigang, thomas, maybe jinwoo)
The S/O would either not care and be completely desensitized at this point(maybe S/O is also a high ranking hunter used to horrific sights. Or they could really just not be bothered to care)
Or be totally traumatized(yandere?)
Side note, what do you think are the types for S ranks(personality wise)
Oh, good question!
But bear in mind, I already have S/Os in stored for these (most) S-Ranks, though I'd still describe it the best way I can:
Not going to include Dong-soo here because he does not deserve it.
Ma Dong-wook — I don't see him with someone. But if he does have a significant other, I'd say he prefers someone who is gentle and caring just like him. He's the type of guy who separates hunter life from personal life, so Dong-wook would likely settle for someone who keeps him grounded and forget that he is a hunter once he's with them.
Lim Tae-gyu — his coy and carefree personality matches with someone who is quite stoic and will be 100% done of him, but will cherish and tolerate him regardless, along with calling him out.
Baek Yoon-ho — Choi Jong-in.
Eun-seok — based on what we see of him only, he seems friendly and kind-hearted. He looks after people and protects them with every strength he has. I see him with someone who is mature and cares for people around just like him; I doubt Eun-seok will care what rank they are, but the moment his heart beats, he won't stop pursuing them.
Min Byung-gyu — his type is simple. Someone who understands him and loves him the way he does to them. He's the type of guy who will take someone out for a nice, sweet date, and then geek about history. He prefers to be with someone who is on the same level as him in terms of personality, since I don't think he'll go for someone tough, rather a person who has the cutest smile ever that can make his heart melt.
Choi Jong-in — Baek Yoon-ho.
Lennart Niemann — whether he denies it or not, his type is the exact opposite of him. He likes adrenaline, likely to give him headaches, but gives the best hugs ever.
Thomas Andre — someone who is done with him, but will easily melt the moment he shows a tint of affection.
Liu Zhigang — we know that he's a busy guy who protects his people and be his country's finest hunter alive, so I think his type should be someone who does not care about his status and treats it like it's not of a big deal like "oh, he's going out there to fight? Not even surprised."
Sung Jin-woo — he probably hasn't thought of what his type should be, so I guess he will just have to wait for his heart to "click" once he meets that certain someone, specifically who will appreciate him for what he is and on par with his skills.
Cha Hae-in — this girl has been exposed to spotlight ever since she awakened as an S-Rank, therefore a lot will only adore her because of what she presents in public, not her true self that she'd never show. She prefers someone who will see beyond that spotlight of hers and treat her like a human being, as well as not smelling bad for her senses, which will be a struggle for her to go on a date.
As for the Japanese S-Ranks, I sadly have no idea since my headcanons on them aren't exactly that big jagsajdgsdh (ask @pain-suffering-even if you still wish to know)
Side note: will it go badly if someone attempts to flirt with the S-Ranks' S/Os? That depends on the personality. If you're talking about the tough S-Ranks (including Eun-seok bc of personal headcanons), then you should pray for your dear life. As for the nicer S-Ranks, nothing to worry about, except that you'd get a death glare or they'll be clingier with their S/Os.

AU where Cha and Woo get their memories back the moment the rewind happened (Um shenanigans shenanigans Blame the Rulers, Last Chance things got quirky) and now they have to go get Jin-Woo before he does something stupid, aka go alone to fight the Monarchs.
Sadly he went really fast so, with the help of the Rulers (haha Jinwoo revealed Jinchul too much during that exchange. Haha Jinchul and Haein may have just accidentally crashed at Jinwoos place so that Ill Hwan can provide them with all the information about how to contact a Ruler or their envoys haha Jinwoo is screwed.) they go and create their own systems to help them level up and eventually be strong enough to help him win the war.
Yes they trust Jin-Woo to absolutely be fine after this (debated, they are, in fact, extremely worried about him but don't show it because they don't want to alert the other too much and besides Hunter Cha/ Chief Woo knew Jin-Woo the most/longest so if they aren't panicking why should they? They are so stupid fr.)
The Ruler eventually agrees to help him catch the architect and gives them a bit of their powers, however since both of them are extremely weak by... well by all standards really, they weren't national Rank and only one of them is s rank... and she is still a child— The Ruler tells them that they have to go with the help of the vessels: Liu Zhigang, Christopher Reed, Thomas Andre, Siddhart Bachchan, Jonas and
"No... I'll go for Go Gun Hee in his stead."
[... Human ... Woo Jin Chul, your body will already suffer the most from the system, do you truly think you can hold the power of the Brightest Fragment inside you?]
"I... I don't. But the Chairman... The Former Vessel isn't able to do much either, and... besides my body can take on enough damage, his is just recovering."
He doesn't want to loose him a second time.
And who knows what Jin-Woo will say when he hears Gun-Hee has joined the battle again.
The Cha Raises his hand. "I will take in half of the Brightest Fragment's power, so that way we both don't suffer any after effects."
[Hmm. What Do you say, brother?]
[... If Sung Ill Hwan was able to become as strong as one of the monarchs under our guidance, then so can the other vessels... However, The new Shadow Monarch is someone who would rather put himself above everything before sharing his burden with anyone else. He won't be easily convinced to let you all fight alongside him. And... He also asked us to protect every human here as kuch as possible, that includes you two and the vessels. Despite all that, will you still be willing to go against him and try to become strong enough to help him?]
Without a doubt, Cha Hae-In and Woo Jin-Cheol already had the answer.

Binged on this week's QoT episodes in one sitting and I have thoughts!
I know the cool rich auntie was one of the good ones! She has literally shown more motherly love to Haein than her own mother.
Speaking of, I understand that she was grieving the loss of her son, but how is it fair to put the blame of his death on her daughter??!!! Yes her son died saving his sister, but it's not like Haein wanted that to happen. Like Haein said, it was an accident. I'm assuming they will reveal more of what exactly happened in the later episodes. And I also feel like that was no accident, someone wanted to kill Haein as a way to harm her grandfather, but her brother died instead. The whole incident is a bit fishy but we shall see.
I'm glad that Hyun woo finally came to the realisation that he still cares about Haein and does not want her to die. Up until ep 4 I was literally going, Baek Hyun woo do better! Thank God he listened.
I love how he got the hospital to treat her! Like don't you dare mess with my wife because I will sue the shit out of you and make sure that I win the case!! Damn that was hot of him haha!
Haein talking about dying was just too depressing like this precious baby deserves to live, unlike those four evil people that are out to destroy her and Hyun woo's happiness!
Speaking of, I have so many theories about them! The sister in law and the Hercyna guy might be siblings, but all that DNA test talk made me sus. What if they are lovers and the kid is actually theirs and no Soo-cheol's? Damn I would love that twist haha. I don't know how I feel about Soo-cheol yet to decide if I pity him or not. The grandfather's girlfriend has been sus from the beginning and that background info that Beom ja got is also very shady. What if the mystery son that she gave birth to is actually the Hercyna guy? What is happening here?
And this masseuse lady...what the fuck is her deal? What does he want? I hate her damn face she's so fucking annoying. Bitch die.
Also all these family scenes get kinda boring sometimes. Sometimes i just don't care about the family dynamics, especially Hyun woo's family. Up until now I feel like they haven't really contributed much to the plot. I hope that changes soon given the amount of screwn time they're getting in every episode.
Coming back to our couple, the juxtaposition of the four leaf clovers lying on the ground and Hae-in's world literally falling apart....it was heartbreaking.
But I'm glad that this secret came out now. I was loving all of their cute moments but dreading Haein finding out about the divorce. Now that that's out, they will hopefully both deal with this revelation early on and build their relationship again without any secrets. I didn't want them to fall in love again just for this to come out in the later episodes. Because honestly healing from that would have been difficult to sell to the audience later on compared to now when it's early days in finding their way back to each other.

Two things from Queen of Tears - Episode 1 I often think about.
1. Hae-in's Grief
At the start of the episode when Hyunwoo tells her to meet him in the lounge in an hour, she cancels all her appointments, applies lipstick all because she's going to meet her husband. She's so innocent as she freshens her make-up because she wants to look presentable - no attractive for her husband. It's screaming she still loves him but these are little things that Hyunwoo has long forgotten to notice or care for.
It kills me that she made special efforts to meet him but then lost track of time due to her illness. It made Hyunwoo think she didn't care. He was hurt and I'm sure must've been thinking, 'why am I disappointed? I should've known this relationship isn't important enough for her to take out time to meet me.'
But he doesn't know she ran when she realized the time. She ran to him but she was late. It's really cruel and unfair. I find this particular scene all the more impactful cause I was so quick to judge her when she didn't show up. It's such a great example of, 'you don't know what the other person is going through' and 'don't judge if you only know one side of the story'. I have absolutely loved getting to know Hong Haein through this show. She is an adorable human veiled under so much hard exterior weld by the circumstances of her life.
2. Hyunwoo's Grief
Hynwoo's reaction to his father-in-law's suggestion to have a baby was extremely important. It doesn't hit the first time around. But rewatching his body language and reaction to Hae-in is so fine tuned with his pain. The idea that she is okay with having a baby if it's convenient. Having a baby then having him move abroad. Having a baby and getting the staff to look after it. Haein even said it'll be nice.
No wonder he leaves to drink. The second time I watched this scene I could only envision his happy face as he heard about baby 1031. I often think about what went through his mind then. 'Who is this woman? When did Haein become so heartless? I guess she never really was hurting. I must be an idiot staying stuck up on it for so long.' Also bonus is his extremely pained look as he leaves the house upset and angry at everything that has been his life these past 2 years.
But heres the interesting end of it, I know at that moment Haein loved him still because she asked to see his photos first. When she said those harsh words did she think, 'I'll give you the baby because of which you blamed me and wielded this distance between us.' Or maybe this was one of those times where she didn't mean her harsh words. I often think when she saw pictures of him smiling did she wonder why he won't smile like that for her anymore?

various headcanons that i forgot aren't actually canon
just the koreans cause if i did everyone at once, we would be here forever
Jongin and Yoonho were both part of the Fiend Guild, and that's where their rivalry started, by competing for vice guildmaster
Jongin rescued a cat from Jeju during their first raid and smuggled her back in his cape. Her name is Kiwi. He had to get a new cape because she uses his old one to sleep
Byungyu and Yoonho are childhood friends. Byungyu would always defend Yoonho, because he was so much of a softie and a crybaby as a kid
Yoonho has like. A bajillion animals at home. At some point when he's walking his dogs during a hot summer, he goes topless, and the picture reaches the papers so fast. It gets brought up in almost every single argument with Jongin
Taegyu will eat sour candy until his mouth bleeds and it sends Byungyu insane
Eunseok was an S rank assassin part of the Fame Guild, and was best friends with Byungyu and Haein
Haein was first vice of the Fame Guild before Jongin created the Hunter's Guild and stole her (he promised her no paperwork if she joined, and she was sold)
Hwang Dongsu used to be part of the Knights Guild. He joined, thinking as an S ranker he would immediately become the guild leader. When that didn't happen, he began searching overseas, where Thomas Andre ran into him and picked him up
Byungyu felt too guilty to dedicate himself to one guild, and so he freelances for a high price, so this way he can help more people instead of being tied down. It made it easier to retire, too. The running joke is that he wants to join the Hunters Association
Taegyu and Dongwook had a healthy rivalry between the Fiend and Fame guild. They don't know where Jongin and Yoonho learned to be rivals like that
The Fiend Guild used to be no. 1 until Jongin rose to the top by recruiting Haein and gathering a lot of attention by being a guild leader as a mage
Taegyu and Jongin still talk often. Jongin always makes fun of Taegyu for being ancient and forgotten and Taegyu calls him an arrogant brat. They would die for one another
Just before he became no. 1, Jongin had a really bad fight with Hwang Dongsu. It wasn't unusual, because most other S rankers despise him, since he was blatantly power hungry and bloodthirsty. Because Jongin lost, he ended up leaving Taegyu and the Fiend Guild and created his own guild in an attempt to prove his strength
Jongin despises Yoonho for hiring Hwang Dongsu's brother, Dongsuk, because he still holds a grudge
Jinchul doesn't like Taegyu very much, because he kept trying to bribe him to join the Fiend Guild. They're ok now, especially now that the Fiend Guild isn't no. 1, but Jinchul avoids Taegyu still
Go Gunhee used to pretend actually entertaining the idea of letting Jinchul join a guild until Jinchul told him it was causing problems on his end (Thomas got sad Gunhee said no and Jinchul was terrified that sadness would turn to anger)
During the holidays, Yoonho always takes his dogs and one cat back home with him. Byungyu also goes, so it's become a sort of yearly roadtrip for them. Yoonho usually asks Taegyu or Haein to pet-sit the rest of his animals while he's away
Haein likes fast food restaurants. Neither Jongin nor Dongwook understand why, but she drags them there all the same
Jinchul appreciates Byungyu and Haein, since they always mediate Yoonho and Jongin whenever he isn't around to stop them. It doesn't always work, but at least they tried
Haein doesn't know Jinchul is the origin for her nickname, The Dancer, because he was creating her hunter profile and was mesmerized by the way she fought. He mentioned it to Go Gunhee, and it kinda spiraled from there

As frustrating as it was to watch haein be manipulated by that clown once again, it's still refreshing that this drama reminds us that these communication issues don't just go away. And haein not telling hyunwoo then and there was reasonable since she was shocked and what she hates doing is hurting him and it's been reiterated that she approaches situations wrong in an effort to protect her ppl at her own expense. Obviously she still has a lot to learn in this regard (so come on drama she needs to live and grow thank you).
It's also clear that in that moment she wanted to use the clown too, to get back into the house and see her grandfather which is smart thinking on her part, I just wish she'd be a little more stern with the clown because it seems like she just lets him ramble on and honestly cuts him too much slack by giving him her time of day when she should just be like okay next, are you done? Because after all the bad things he's done, he really just doesn't deserve that meal with her but eh I'd like to think haein was just doing what he wanted to get to see her grandfather.
Also there's potential the clown was somehow involved in her brother's death or witnessed it because now we know hyunwoo saved her so the fact that the clown is pointing out that he saved her suggests something so great another mystery that I have no idea whether they will unravel.
Anyway the ep was frustrating cuz there was too much clown time but I still think it deals with hyunwoo and haein's relationship well, these issues aren't resolved over night or just because they love each other, they need to keep at and eventually they'll get there, I just hope the drama gives haein the time she deserves.
