SHES WILLING TO KILL ANYONE WHO RLY FUCKS W HER), AND WHILE THEY ORIGINALLY HAD A RIVALRY IT GOT A LIL TOO HOMOEROTIC VERY QUICKLY AND THEY DON'T RLY KNOW HOW BUT THEY ENDED UP DATING. My ocs Pash and Illoma!!

why does your ship deserve to be considered the most toxic?:

OKAY SO theyre blorbos from a book a plan to write and basically the premise is that the main character, Illoma, is tasked with assassinating Pash. Theyre both from different families that have control over dragons and are both dragon riders in their own right. Illoma is from the 2nd most powerful house right after the royal family, which Pash is a part of. Their empire is ruled by an immortal god-king who has had many children over the course of his long life. Pash is one of his many descendants, but highest in the line of succession after her father (which is meaningless since the king is immortal). Basically, Illoma's mother believes that Pash's parents are going to try to find a way to kill their emperor and put her on the throne. This would be a terrible outcome for everyone because Pash is a hedonistic party girl who seems to have no regard for her own life or the lives of other people. She shows up to important meetings drunk/high, has a reputation for sleeping around with women, and is overall just an undisciplined mess. Illoma is a dutiful daughter who follows the rules of society, so when her mother tells her that she needs to kill Pash for the good of the empire, Illoma does what she says. It’s easy to emotionally disconnect herself from the action at first because Illoma doesn’t know Pash at all and doesn’t particularly like her. So she tries to poison Pash. When it fails the first time, she tries again, and again, and again. None of the poisons she’s been given are working. So Illoma is left with no choice but to get closer to Pash so she can try to kill her more effectively. The twist ends up being that Pash is basically a hommuculus created for the sole purpose of dying in some blood ritual that will kill the immortal god-king. She has a year left before this happens, but until then, he body has the regenerative properties of Wolverine. So with what little time she has left, she’s decided to keep herself entertained by fucking with Illoma. At one point, she makes a toast in Illoma’s honor to praise her tenacity and drinks the goblet Illoma poisoned while making direct eye contact with her. It only gets worse from there. As they grow closer, Illoma finds that she has more and more trouble keeping her gay thoughts in check. She is a super repressed lesbian and Pash is a very much not repressed lesbian. Illoma resents Pash quite a bit for being able to break all the rules without any consequences but genuinely has fun when they go out on excursions together. Lots of projection on Illoma’s part and gaslighting on Pash’s (“haha what do you mean you stabbed me last night, Im sitting right here at breakfast!”) Halfway through the story they start boning. Illoma is still actively trying to figure out a way to kill Pash and Pash is both aware of this and aroused by some of her more intimate attempts. They have an actual connection and like each other as people, but they have opposing goals and lots of underlying animosity to work out. In the meantime, they’ll be making out about it.

speaking of being a fic writer in rarepair hell, yknow it's a goddamn shame that the show is 86'ing The Devil's Minion. Here I'd been hoping for a renaissance of Armand/Daniel fic and now I just have to hope that book fans will spite write it bc they have blue balls.

It's just so sad bc I don't think they're even a rarepair, by regular fandom standards. It's more that Anne did irreparable damage to her own fandom and the fanfiction suffered for it at large. There should be way more VC fic in general. And I feel like D/A is one of the more popular canon ships. It's fucking wild that there's 27 smut fics of a ship that's been around since 1988. WHAT!!!

Like we knew that the show was gonna be The Lestat Show so like it's not that I expected Daniel, or Armand, or Daniel/Armand to be showcased in a meaningful way but like. YOU COULDA GIVEN ME FUCKIN *SOMETHING*. I just needed some gifs. Fandoms have historically done PLENTY with the smallest breadcrumbs. It's just so disappointing lmfao. :(

disclaimer: this is open to other ai canons so it will be flexible, which is probably why this is so long, and will be tagged as such. LONG POST AHEAD.

aside from one scene where aiba loses her battery, we don't really see mizuki with her blind grey eye...well, she only has one eye and whether or not aiba is her partner for a while, temporarily, or i hope, she gets a gold-colored (a bit darker than aiba's coloring) left eye for herself if, and i dread this slightly, AI3? she always loses her left eye, and if aiba is turned off, she uses an eyepatch because the prosthetic to cover the gaping hole is a washed out shell of her blue-grey right eye. it's more a washed out, dull lighter gray - silver than the dark blue grey of her right before it was destroyed and i'll be coloring in icons with these dependent on canons of other ai muses. i mean it was blown clean out with not a trace of it left. i doubt they can fully replicate the same color plus..ps won't make it look matching whoops.

she still pursues the detective life / problem solving life and my mizuki is extremely proactive in the HB case, as i'm very bitter about how she was advertised but given so little, and want to balance out what i think ryuki would be doing in my mizuki's storyline when she's old enough to join abis. she's obviously more of a rookie than ryuki is, and my mizuki actively struggles MUCH more with forgiving him on the explosion route. saying she has no stakes to be on the case in a.ini is....her dad literally went missing because of that tragedy. it's a huge driving force to arrest the person who took ANOTHER family member away, tearer, naix, tokiko and also, her own private investigations on horadori institute, which she still was sent there, but she was not born there, just there until she was three as another result of inhumane experimentation.

all the while running two companies or frantically trying to figure out how to at least, with the inheritances that were left behind by her biological father renju. while i do really find that aiba and mizuki as a team grew on me, since they were already like a big sister and little sister different dynamics from iris and mizuki ? and i do think she should have her own AI-BALL that isn't the same yellow but golden-yellow, to match her color scheme because her 18 year old glow up is amazing? she'll always lose that eye. frankly to mizuki it's hardly as traumatic as all the hell she's gone through since she was born, she's kind of...numb and indifferent to it. which is disturbing, considering she canonly sneaks out of counseling or attempts at therapy.

in my canon she's generally borrowing aiba for an unknown period of time and swaps between her eyepatch, that has the insignia in the artbook that date inherited instead, as i'll always cherish aiba and date's bond, or aiba isn't her permanent partner. she is her partner too, but not lifelong. a lifelong familial presence in her life? absolutely. but mizuki should have an ai-ball of her own, someone to bounce her snarky and feisty attitude with in a chemistry unique to her.

i do genuinely hope they give her an ai-ball that does LOOK a lot like aiba's coloring, since that worked so well with her color scheme. maybe a darker gold / yellow, and also her 'seaweed' shape is more like a rabbit, as that is mizuki's animal motif, like date's by fandom standards tends to be the falcon / cat. i also could see a small lion, playing off 'a lionhearted girl.' and because mizuki is both lion and rabbit.

this is her look when date needs aiba back or she's waiting on her own ai-ball. or waiting on having her blown out left eye adjusted to fit aiba. or if it comes down to it, both dates share aiba when it counts, as tama remarked on the diverge ending about mizuki and date tossing aiba around. but date and aiba will ALWAYS be my favorite ai and partner dynamic. i really want to see that for mizuki too! while she won't admit it, she feels more at ease if aiba is with date, because the explosion route whether he's missing long or short in time, and aiba looks after date, in a more...tactical way than say, if mizuki did. she's just as protective but would rather eat rocks than admit it easily.

it just...traumatized her far more than losing an eye just like renju and shoko and date. i plan to write a balanced team of two traumatized detectives, mizuki and ryuki, as both were done so dirty. mizuki will imply ryuki in her canon, mine anyway, and he will also be given the treatment i felt he deserved like she did so, so very much.

honestly? ryuki being someone who has helpful advice for her and them being a big team? after she begins to forgive him slowly for ...involving so many people in the explosion route? she's more receptive to his talents and experience. i just feel knowing mizuki, if you hurt her family even if you had no choice, it's going to take a while to forgive you or not forgive you at all. ryuki is the former, and forgiving him takes mizuki /time/.

wol inspiration chart

i made one of these six months ago, but i adjusted it a bit to better reflect how he is now. out of all of them, the most important ingredients to an eti are two tablespoons of sesshomaru and michiru lol. tagged by: @withheartsaligned tagging: anyone! if you want to do this just say i tagged you! explanations under read more (it got a little long whoops)

Shin-Ah: A Moon Guy lol. He's quiet, shy, extremely loyal, and hates the cold just like Eti. But he's also genuinely kind and has a big heart. Just like Eti!

He's nicer than Eti though. And while Eti thinks he's been cursed by Hydaelyn, Shin-Ah is actually cursed according to his horrible village. He's also much more forgiving.

Auron: The number two inspiration. They're both mentor archetypes, lost their honor, and are technically dead/have died before the story starts. By the time post-SHB rolled around, Etienne told the twins that "this is (their) story" when it comes to their father acting like a jackass. They also have similar aesthetics and carry around big swords.

Sesshomaru: Another Moon Guy lol. If Auron is his number two inspiration, then Sesshomaru is number one. Both are born to noble families and are much stronger than their peers. Both are arrogant as fuck (though Eti isn't as arrogant as Sesshomaru). Both look indifferent 99% of the time, value strength above almost everything else, and barely talk unless it's needed. If Eti could, he'd just walk around and look pretty like Sesshomaru does lmao. Definitely the blueprint for one half of his personality.

The Doll: It's the way she talks in the English dub. No, really. He talks in the exact same cadence as her, though with a different accent. It's also the fact she says she was made to love the Hunters, just like humans love their Gods. Eti has a similar view of himself and his constituents (the people of Eorzea and eventually all of Etheirys). So long as he's useful, all is well.

Michiru: The blueprint for the other half of his personality. Michiru is very graceful and polite, but doesn't mince words or indulge people. Eti has a very similar philosophy, as he values truth above all else and holds people to a high standard. While they're both kind and have an almost soothing aura to them, neither of them are very social.

Velvet: The third inspiration. Surprisingly NOT a person with a dozen moon motifs! Eti's story and character development closely follows her's, except he doesn't fall headfirst into vengeance the way Velvet did.

They both once had everything, only to lose it all. Their respective homes were destroyed, they both spent years afterwards being more like monsters than people, and they both eventually find a reason to live again. They don't run away from their pasts, but instead push forward and do what must be done to make things right.

My personal thoughts lately on the new mk "1" mk new game.

*sigh* i have never been so disappointed in my life

If anyone remotely think mk1/11.5/12. Whatever that fucking thing wants to call itself. The new mk game.

If anyone remotely thinks its gonna be good.

.....

They aren't a mortal kombat fan.

They don't have any standards.

They are blind and are consumers of hype.

They probably are a fucking reddit guy.

They don't care about the integrity of the lore,story,characters,and 30 fucking years of the series trying to get it right (but failing to do so because of greed and the incompetence of higher ups/boon)

They legit are new to this shit and dont listen to older fans when we say "THIS IS BAD,DO NOT FUCKING WASTE YOUR MONEY!"

Like if people are saying 11 was better. And that wasn't even by much. Thats how you know your game sucks.

Because despite my gripes with 11. At least the characters dont look like cookie cut outs. And at least the game has replayability. Ignore the pre battle dialogue and a majority of the storymode outside of aftermath. (And some things within because oof)

Then 11 isn't that bad. Trim the gristle and you're good.

But mk "1" ?! Nah fuck that.

Yet Another Writing Ask

5. What's a tag you never want to use for your works even when it applies?

This just speaks to my tagging style, but I don't (and won't) tag common triggers directly: I use 'Additional Warnings in Author's Note' in lieu of the links. I understand why some people tag for upsetting content, but---specifically because of AO3 tags' prominence (and searchability)---it feels kind of tacky, like a grungy miserable billboard off a Los Angeles freeway.

Yeah, no, I just can't. Especially not before the work's synopsis.

While I'll use tags like 'Angst' or 'Hurt/Comfort' to give readers a general idea of my work's flavor, I prefer to explain my content warnings in the introductory A/N for those who need them, rather than emblazon them on what is essentially the cover of my novel.

23. Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?

It depends.

I lean toward description because I'm absurdly deliberate when I write---loads of in-your-face detail lends itself well to uncomfortably close third-person PoV. But since precision is key, it also means I expect perfection from myself, and I end up in diminishing-returns-type situations pretty frequently. (Not that mad about it: rewriting and polishing and adding detail is super therapeutic for me, and by far my favorite part of the writing process.) Because it's somewhat effortless, my standards are so high they're in space. Which in turn makes it hard. I guess.

And I absolutely love register shifting, which makes it easy for me to slip into different characters' voices---I've been told I hardly need dialogue tags for my P-Shep/Liara conversations since their speech patterns are so distinct. What tends to be difficult---and requires the most effort---is ensuring the dialogue conveys what it needs to, and in exactly the right tone, without the information seeming forced.

(It's funny---while looking over SAtS, the dialogue that seems the most pat to me comes straight from the game.)

40. Write a 9-word fic.

Whoops, I'm gonna cheat here and post an excerpt (of an excerpt) from what I'm working on. But it's nine words that neatly encapsulate the turmoil in LWLS:

Someone else's pain was a prize to be won.

Here's the full sentence (P-Shep's PoV):

Weird, though, Liara's insistence that it was okay, totally fine: how she desired to carry a burden she didn't have to, that wasn't hers; and not only carry it but like caress it and covet it, as if someone else's pain was a prize to be won.

Just realized that I never did an actual writeblr introduction. Whoops. Anyway!

No idea how to format this, but we're here now and there's no time like the present.

Hello writeblr, I've been with you for almost a year now (I think). You can call me Harley, and I've been writing as long as I can remember. While the stories I wrote back in elementary school aren't the best, I am still proud of how much I've improved since starting out. I've kept a few WIPs I worked on in high school (those are being finished and edited), as well as a few others I started in the past few years.

Speaking of which, here are some original WIPs you might find featured on here (whether as part of tag games, asks, or random snippets):

Tales of the Unfortunate Summoner - Demons, humans, and trauma galore! Yes, I finally named the WIP with the niece-uncle relationship between a human (Henriette) and demon (Hadeon), featuring nobody's favourite former Shakespeare demon, Blaise. If you enjoy more modern fantasy, this might be the one for you. Once I finish writing and editing it so it's up to standard, of course.

Love Corrupts Fresh Lilies (often shortened to LCFL, due to laziness) - Ah yes, another instance of "idiot protagonist messes up and now everything's destroyed"! Meet Rafflesia, the poor mistreated girl who finds herself lost in some bizarre world after escaping her cousin, Jacob. She soon becomes corrupted and ends up a machine of mass destruction. Well, that's the plan, if I ever finish it. If you enjoy dark fantasy and dark romance, you might enjoy this.

The Devoted Musician - Wow! An analog horror series based on other horror media, how original! Well, it's been seven years in the making and I'm hoping it turns out alright. If you enjoy graphic horror media, ghosts, curses, and comic relief brought to you by deceased teenagers, this is something you might be interested in. It will be available on YouTube (with the next episode coming out VERY soon), and I will post the links to the videos on here as well.

Undying Service - I've barely outlined this WIP, due to focusing on my larger projects (see items 2 and 3 on this list), but here's the gist: altar server dies and is buried in a church, which they haunt to annoy members of the clergy as well as other religious folk. They might fix the occasional thing, but this is a mystery/satire, so we can't have too much of that.

Organized Obsession - This WIP has a better outline than Undying Service (at this point, literally anything does), as well as some characters. If you saw the poll that involved "fandom discourse but turned up to 11", that's this one. This WIP has some dystopian elements to it, but is also a satire (taken more seriously, unfortunately). I don't want to spoil too much, but in this world, taking sides is a must if you want to survive.

I'm going to be releasing a WIP crash course soon (along with the next episode of The Devoted Musician, which will have a bit more substance), so stay tuned!

I hope to meet more mutuals and people to follow, and the ones that I have are the best writers I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. If you have questions about any of my WIPs, feel free to send me an ask or tag me in a game! I try my best to respond to those as soon as I can.

I have come for dragons! So, you mentioned Logan is the human with dragon Patton and Virgil, right? (Can't find the post to check, whoops) Can I ask what the situation is between humans and dragons in your AU? Like are they close or antagonistic? And are Logan and his dragons helping each other out, or is it a (found) family situation, or maybe forced cooperation? What are Pat and Virge hoarding? No need to spoil anything you don't wanna spoil btw!

This all happens to be set in one of the versions of my fantasy universe, Faedell, btw, so you can also browse that tag for some general lore if you want, though not all of it is up-to-date with the current version in my head.

So, the relationship between humans and dragons is kinda complicated. They're not really that antagonistic, but they also tend to not interact a whole lot. The one place where they do traditionally interact a lot is in the dragon/princess dynamic. There are two forms this usually takes place, though of course there are blurry lines:

1. Princess in a dragon-guarded tower. For whichever reason, there's a princess in a tower, and whoever put here there purposely got a dragon to guard her. The dragon's duties are primarily to make sure the princess doesn't leave/get taken away until a specific time and person comes. Also hunting for her meat, sometimes. Depends on the dynamic and who else is involved.

2. Captive Princess. This is rather less arranged, and involves a dragon carrying off a princess, who then lives with the dragon and does stuff like cook, clean, organize treasure, etc. Being a dragon's princess is actually considered fairly respectable, too. And there's a whole magical contract between the dragon and the princess, where the dragon promises to provide for and protect the princess, and the princess promises to do the princess duties. Usually this contract is ended by a knight or prince coming and fighting the dragon. Sometimes to the death, sometimes not.

(Also, worth noting, dragons use the term "princess" in the generic to refer to the human in either of these arrangements, and usually they are in fact princesses, but sometimes you will hear of a princess who is actually a prince, or even (more rarely) a commoner of any gender.)

The second scenario is what Logan, Virgil, and Patton are in. Logan is the youngest of several princes and princesses, and the two dragons snatched him up one day and carried him off to their shared cave system. He willingly entered the contract, and is happily living as a Dragons' Prince, organizing their hoards.

He also helped them come up with a system to share him, because it's very unusual for two dragons to have one princess. But Virgil and Patton had to work together to carry him off, because they are both pygmy dragons, and too small to do it alone. So they have to share him. (most pygmy dragons do not have princesses for this reason.)

I dunno yet if there's anything special about their hoards, or if it's just the standard 'gold and gems' sort of thing. Maybe they have other pretty rocks.

Also, they might be a bit upset to hear you call them "Logan's dragons." They're not Logan's dragons, he's their prince!

why does your ship deserve to be considered the most toxic?:

Leo can’t remember anything that has happened to him before the age of twelve. All anyone knows is that he was in an accident that should have killed him, then he returned with an indestructible body and a void where his personality should be. He cannot comprehend good or evil, does not understand the concept known as ‘choice’, and cannot envision an existence where Res isn’t his Master. He imprinted onto Res the moment he met the other man and pushed himself into Res’ life without considering whether or not Res might want it. His first Master did not pass, he simply changed how he looked, and what he looks like now is Res. Period. He has nothing to offer, nothing to say, no emotions and no heart to give. All he knows are the facts, and the facts tell him that there is no Leo without Res. So he’ll make sure that there’s no Res without Leo. Res has always been very into science, but he isn’t too fond of how there are a bit too many restrictions on the experiments he can perform, and he’s even less fond of how they die whenever he tries some of his more ‘exciting’ stuff. Thankfully he has Leo, his little obedient puppy who will obey his every word and donate his body for research. Of course, he’s never asked him whether he was okay with that, but signing a consent form is so old school. He believes that we should be doers, not dreamers, and he’s always wanted to see what the insides of Leo’s body looked like. And all the resistance it’s putting up just makes it all the more exciting. Leo spells unending excitement, and that’s all the reason Res needs to make sure no one else has him. Res is life, but he is not Leo’s purpose for living, because Leo has not questioned whether or not life has a purpose. He doesn’t need to. Res is Leo’s Master, and Leo’s Master is the very concept of life itself. Without his Master, the earth does not spin, and the sun does not shine. Why would it be anything else? Leo is not a person, he is Res’ dream. The dream of a creature that would do nothing but obey his every word, and the dream of an anomaly that he could endlessly explore without an expiration date. A thing that Res will never get bored of. To Res, Leo is just an adorable lab rat who happens to be the only one in the world who can fulfill his dreams. He does not care for Leo, the person, because Leo is not a person, but he does care about Leo, the humanoid playground that belongs to Res, and Res alone. This is love, because love is when someone makes your heart race, and love is when someone makes you feel like you’re free-falling into obsession. Res loves him, loves him, loves him loves him loves himloveshim. Just as we don’t get emotionally attached to the oxygen that keeps our heart beating, Leo does not get emotionally attached to Res, and he doesn’t need to. This isn’t love, it’s something more than that. Love can change, fade and evolve- it’s fickle, fleeting and easily manipulated. What Leo and Res have is a constant. Res belongs with Leo, and Leo belongs with Res. Don’t argue with the facts. Because you’re wrong, and Leo will make sure you know you’re wrong, no matter who you are. It’s a good thing they’re with each other, and no one else. (Leo is Uno's oc, Res is Canada's oc. Above description written by Uno.
