You know, if chuck made like thousands of worlds with different versions of Sam and Dean that he gave up on when he got bored, who's to say that Steve and Robin aren't an early draft of them 🤷

Alright, because of the post I just reblogged off of you: Grace Blackthorn. I love her, too. If you were given free rein to write her character's story post-canon, what would you do with her given the confines of her existing ending? I personally think I would remove her from London altogether and send her to another Institute for a fresh start.
Grace. All right. There is a lot I'd want to rewrite about her direction if I could control canon, but alas, I can't and it wasn't the question.
As for post-canon, I would indeed remove her from London too. It's makes the most sense considering all the memories in London, many distressing, and the reminders of what she did in the past and what was done to her for those actions. I truly think anyone who gets locked up in the Silent City for any amount of time emerges with a slight shift of mind. Plus, while I doubt many of the remaining TLH cast would realistically stay in London their whole lives, I do think Grace would benefit more from a distance between herself and, at least, James and Cordelia.
I'm not sure which Institute I would think best for her to go. There's a decent amount of scientific innovation that goes on in France, but somehow I feel it's not the place Grace would want to be. I don't know how many men Tatiana pimped her out to, nor can I recall whom they were and where they were from, but I just feel like even the entirety of France and it's diverse areas would not quite be her scene for healing.
Because that's what I'd write for Grace post-canon. Healing. I want to see how she does not quite wrestle with guilt - because how can you feel bad for doing what you needed to survive? - but does struggle with the ghost of Christopher. It would hurt anyone pretty bad if the one person who unwaveringly stood by your side and cared about you when they did not have much reason to, who encouraged you to find that last piece to complete their life's work, just died. And died by the hands of your adoptive family, no less. This is one my nit picks because I wish we had seen Grace defeat Tatiana rather than Cordelia - it would have felt more significant, in my eyes. She had more emotional stake in it.
Anyway, I would send Grace perhaps to another Institute located in the UK, actually, or Ireland. I do not think she would be comfortable going to Idris, simply because while she is more open to the Shadowhunter identity, she would still have a lot of complicated feelings there and it'd be a lot more difficult to sort out when also living in the country where your orphanage was. And I also would not send her to America (sorry, I know, there was a fanfic where this happened and I fully respect it, it's just not what I would have done (I also know more about other countries than I do about America, so I'm more comfortable dealing with them)). Ultimately, while I'm thinking this out, I'm settling on Ireland because I think it feels removed enough for Grace to feel like she can breathe and, if all the stories are true, it's the centre of a lot of supernatural activity, especially involving Fair Folk.
I point this out because I think Grace is the kind of person who has to keep busy to keep going. I feel like she spent too much idle time as Tatiana's ward and wouldn't want to be reminded of that. I'd write about how she works the day investigating local Fair Folk issues involving mundanes and others (I think she also shares Kit's close ties to Downworld, if not so comfortably to begin with but gradually more so) and training, then goes for patrols every couple of nights or so, before letting herself relax, exhausted, before some fireplace and allowing herself to feel what she feels so she can eventually move on. She might still work with scientific invention, because she does indeed seem curious, but I think it'd be some time before she really got into it again.
Basically, I want to write Grace in grief for all she has lost, and taking the time to go through that and heal each wound in her, before we look at things like whether she ever has romantic interest again, who she befriends, whether she reconnects with anyone from the London Enclave, and so on. I think she might reach out to Lucie first (I would argue she still writes letters to Jesse anyway) just because of their potential for a decent friendship and their previous partnership. And I am always looking for f/f ships, so a little part of me wants Grace/Lucie, but considering canon Lucie/Jesse and how important that is - I'll leave it alone. Close female friendships are also brilliant and we do need more of them even in TSC.
But anyway, I think I've rambled long enough. Hopefully that was a satisfactory answer to your question. I really enjoyed thinking through this and sharing.

jesse deep dive cause i can't sleep
was thinking about the Controversial Jesse Scene and--before i do any hard takes or really have opinions on it--i can't help but think the way he perfectly captures Traumatised Victorian-Edwardian Man. how we don't see how he's feeling most of the time, considering he's not a main narrator and nor is he in a position where he's constantly able to talk about his emotions. In fact it would be canon consistent to assume he actually has never been able to talk about his emotions with anyone ever. Nor is he or has he really ever been able to show them or express himself in any way. With Grace he could express his love for her, but he was always in a bit of a carer position for her; she was never really there for him to confide in properly. He's not overly guarded about everything--his trauma doesn't manifest like that. He recognises a generally caring community when he sees one; he applies all his skills on how to be respectful and kind and connect with people that he no doubt had to teach himself (Tatiana not being the best role model and all, and also keeping him away from the rest of the world for the most part).
With this background, it makes perfect sense for him to latch onto the Herondales, whom he's realised over decades how unfounded and exaggerated his mother's hatred of is. He's heard horrible things about them, and they're nothing like that when he gets to know Lucie and she tells him about her family (which as much as she vents about them in her first writing project, she actually loves her family and finds them generally supportive and not a source of trauma or hurt, so different from Jesse's experience of family). To him, getting to know the Herondales is a bit like leaving a restrictive cult and realising that rock and roll and dungeons and dragons are actually great and not charged with supernatural villains at all (and of course, subsequently getting far more into them than if they had never been forbidden in the first place). He idealises the Herondales a bit, and if I'm honest--I can't really blame him. They gave him the life he always wanted and his in-laws and wife are always going to feel like a sort of rebellion against and liberation from his mother, especially when she inadvertently but also kind of intentionally put him through you know, the whole possession thing. In which he 'did' everything he's worked so hard to not be anything like and which would've been traumatising on so many levels.
I know possession is a supernatural trauma and not really relatable to any of us (as far as I'm aware, can't ever say never) on here. But when it comes down to it: Jesse was raised solely by an arguably evil if not at least bitter, vengeful and delusional (in terms of feeding herself lies because she can't face the truth until they become her truth, I'm not sure if I'm using the word correctly here and understand it can be a sensitive and ableist thing if I'm not) woman, who isolated him from the rest of the world (much like a cult does). I know Tatiana did things to Grace she didn't do to Jesse. But it's also not a competition of who had it worse: each of their childhoods was what it was. Jesse has known literally nothing else. And yet he figured out how to be generally a good person, he researched how to be a shadowhunter and trained himself and his sister, did all the things that Gideon and Gabriel didn't figure out about their family until they left it, without actually ever leaving. We don't really get page time talking about these things, but it's pretty impressive when you think about it. But it also means his (relative, okay, okay) morality has been hard-fought for, and even though he logically knows none of what Belial did in his body isn't his fault, it's still as if he failed in the one thing he thought to be critical, more critical than what he wants or prefers: breaking the cycle of hurt breeding hurt that Tatiana lives in.
Combine that with the fact that he's never had anyone to hold space for his feelings. Had to figure that all out on his own, and grew up in an era (has it really changed though??) where it's virtuous to be calm on the surface even if, as we know, it leads to emotions simmering into rage when they do eventually surface, making an anger/trauma response when it does happen bigger than if, say, hurt was felt and processed and grieved with others who offer a corrective experience as would be ideal. And the fact that though he has a new network around him, they're not there to all be his therapists and he's still the new guy, still super polite and trying to make a good impression and super grateful and kind of surprised when they do include him--so he's not about to process, really, how to look past his own trauma and be there for his sister, when, in his eyes, she's had more agency than he had in his possession, something he would have longed to have just a smidge of so he could hopefully stop it, and seemingly taken the easy way out and done the thing that Jesse could never, ever condone and honestly thinks he raised his sister to be better than. It feels like a betrayal of Jesse: his morals he fought so hard for. And it reminds him too much of what he went through: James, who he's heard how much Lucie adores and all the times she's been worried about, not being in control of himself and accidentally hurting people (Cordelia at least, Lucie fills him in on that) for three and a half years.
Yes, he isn't taking into account the dynamics of power and abuse and how what Grace went through, too young to know better or really have any choice in the matter until it was normalised, held over her in ways she couldn't fight until Tatiana was briefly out of the picture (at which point she did straight away). Going with the cult metaphor, the brainwashing and gaslighting and blackmail and total under-thumb squishing was exactly what Grace was going through, she was being controlled as well, but from Jesse's point of view she had a little bit of autonomy, she didn't use it or even come to him for advice and help, and it just feels like a betrayal especially given all his unprocessed trauma. It's too much of a shock for a man who's just been resurrected (which would also have some jarring effects one would imagine). Yes, he wasn't kind in how he treated her, the way he should've been. Yes, he hurt someone so vulnerable and it's always going to be there in their sibling relationship history. Yes, the shock wears off and she's still his sister, James and Cordelia are back together, yes he should've stood up for her more but. I don't think it's out of cowardice, even if one could call it morally grey. He's behaving like someone with his resources and trauma would, arguably better than many. He did make a brother out of that event, putting in an effort to reach out to James. So many people don't know how to mediate, and honestly, this is a really tricky situation for all who do (Christopher mainly, who does accidentally belittle James' pain in a way and brush over it with the turn-the-other-cheek-privilege rhetoric, which is in some ways the attitude Jesse places on himself and those around him including Grace if you get where I'm taking you and the irony of it).
Anyway, I have thoroughly enjoyed every fic exploring this relationship and everything that went down with this event in every different way. I don't have a problem with saying 'oh Jesse should've' but I also don't see the point in expecting him to be morally perfect when we don't expect that of other characters, and when it happens to the extent the imperfections that make him three-dimensional are washed away, when he has so few of them to begin with and he's probably the least fleshed out male character of the main cast (not saying he's complete cardboard!!! he's just the amount of fleshiness many of the female characters are, who we also tend to expect to be morally perfect!) like yes it creates an island for Grace in many ways that Tatiana all but orchestrated the way she did Jesse's death--a lasting punishment if you will, for ceasing to be her 'weapon' by exposing her to the others she forced her to hurt. It's a shitty situation in so many ways and I hate that she gets this legacy even from beyond the grave. I only don't think Jesse should bear the full responsibility for bridging everything and processing it for all of them

Brightside, Chapter 1
Fandom: Teen Wolf, 9-1-1: Lone Star
Rating: Mature but don't go beyond canon violence
Relationships: Carlos Reyes/TK Strand, Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski
Summary: One week before Iris goes missing Carlos is assigned a new partner that is a transfer from California. He is a bit of an odd one.
(this will also become a fix it for S4 finale)
Notes: Spoilers for S4 of Lone Star and Teen Wolf Movie in only that Eli Hale exists. I decided Carlos should have some different back-up. And another character to vent my annoyance about Detective Grier through. Derek and Stiles are pre-slash for a while, it is complicated. Stiles knows Eli exists but hasn’t met him, only talked on the phone. And I like magical overpowered Stiles so keep that in mind. Gabriel Reyes was a human born into a pack, he gets tapped by the Texas Rangers when there are supernatural cases. In my world pink wolfsbane is a bit like poison ivy to wolves, irritation and rash causing.
Inspiration: Brightside by Halestorm
Fake a smile, And self-destruct, Count it down, Four, three, two, one, I'm over it, All the bullshit, And this fucked up world, I'm living in, Where everything, I'm choking on, Is supposed to help, And keep me hanging on, Yeah, ain't it fun, So enjoy the ride, 'Cause life's a bitch and then you die
So I keep looking, On the bright side of life, 'Cause it only gets darker, We all need something to keep believing, So I keep looking, On the bright side of life
~
Stiles frowned as he was about to brush his teeth for bed. The protection spell on his new partner Officer Reyes was triggered, it indicated a head injury that could have been fatal without him having tipped the balance. What in the world was the other man up to. He should be at home snuggled up with that hot paramedic fiance of his. Then Stiles sighed realizing that maybe Carlos Reyes was a little less by the book than he’d originally thought. If someone thought a person he cared about was lying Stiles would be investigating in his off time. Stiles was just glad he hadn’t got in pjs yet as he grabbed his keys to go rescue Carlos.
It didn’t take Stiles long for him to arrive at the neighborhood they’d found Iris earlier. Closing his eyes focusing on narrowing down Carlos location. Stiles shouldn’t have been surprised it was the house that looked pretty and perfect. Those houses always did seem to hide the worst sins inside. Knocking on the door Stiles could sense two life signs in the house currently. After a moment he heard steps towards the door and an older woman opened the door. Her eyes widened upon spotting the man’s police uniform.
“Hello, Officer. It is very late. What seems to be the problem? I was just about to go to bed.” The woman was trying to appear calm but Stiles could clearly see signs of anxiety.
“You have two choices, hard or easy.”
“I don’t understand.”
“Oh I’m pretty sure you do. Easy means you quietly let me arrest you and allow me to give aide to my partner. Then we all three wait patiently for the rest of APD to come arrest you and…” Stiles paused for a moment glancing at a picture on the wall behind her. “your son for all your dirty deeds, finally get some justice for his many victims. Or I can do it hard way. You won’t like that.”
“I have no idea what you are talking about. I’m going to have to ask you to leave if you don’t have a warrant.” She swallowed hard not letting this young officer trick her into harming her son.
“See, I don’t need one when an officer is in distress. You took my partner. Both his fiance and I would like him back without further harm. NOW.” Stiles channeled a bit of Sourwolf’s attitude as he stepped into her physical space cause her to back up. Slamming the door behind Stiles threw up perimeter wards so that the killer couldn’t sneak up on him.
“Get out of my house! You are going to upset Darryl.” She tried to open the door to push Stiles back out.
“Oh? That would make my day. I love upsetting killers who target weaker members of society for their prey.”
She tried to physical attack Stiles head on in desperation. It didn’t take him long to slap restraints that had been made with mountain ash just in case.
“That was very dumb.” Stiles pushed her to walk into the kitchen where he felt Carlos showing signs of coming back to consciousness. “What is your name?”
“Trudie. You are very rude.”
“Oh no, a serial killer’s mother thinks I’m rude. My fragile self-esteem will never recover.” Stiles pushed her into a chair and used a bit of magic to keep her stuck there until he released it. Now he felt more comfortable focusing on Carlos who was starting to groan in pain. “Oh good the dumbass who didn’t think to get back up in the form of his partner is alive.”
“Stilinski?” Carlos tried to figure out what was happening. Last he remembered was discovering the tunnel that the person who abducted Iris could have escaped through. “My head is killing me.”
“That is to be expected since Old Mrs Bateman hit you in the head with a shovel at least once before dragging you into the kitchen. I’m not sure how many times she probably knocked your head into the wall too.” Stiles looked over at the woman who didn’t say anything but she was crying silently. Stiles touched Carlos using a bit of magic to heal Carlos enough so that his pain would be less but not enough to raise suspicion of not being injured enough. “I really don’t want to get assigned a new partner. I might not like them as much as you. So in the future...CALL ME FOR BACK UP BEFORE GOING INTO A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION!”
“Uh, sorry?” Carlos was unsure how to react. He didn’t think his new partner liked him much. Stilinski talked a lot but rarely actually said something. And Stilinski was either extremely professional or a sarcastic shit to everyone. Almost everyone. Carlos did over hear a phone call on their first shift where Stiles was genuinely nice to who ever was on the other end.
“Yeah, not good enough. But I’ll let your fiance really lecture you on not risking your life when there is help available.” Stiles grabbed his knife slicing the restraints from Carlos hands and feet. “Stay put because I don’t know what other damage she did.”
“Is she the one who abducted Iris?” Carlos now remembered why he acted so brashly in the first place.
“No, she is just mommy dearest to the killer. And like a good mom she was cleaning up his mess by doing away with you.” Stiles sighed. “I’m calling it in because we’ll need both locations searched because we don’t know how long he has been active. And we know there is at least one body in this house.”
“W-what?” Trudie gasped. She was certain the pantry door was closed at the moment. But that was exactly where the other cop walked over too and opened it. Darryl’s latest victim fell out with a soft thud.
“It is over, lady. I’d stay quiet until you talk to a lawyer at this point if you are just going to keep denying reality. You shouldn’t have fucked with my partner.”
“How rude!”
“Fuck off. You covered up numerous murders and attacked my partner. I don’t give a flying fuck about how my language upsets you.” Stiles glared at her before calling Ranger Reyes directly. “Gabriel, we have a problem.”
Carlos eyebrows climbed up as heard his father’s voice over the phone. How the hell did his new partner know his dad enough to have number programmed into the phone.
“Dad and you can now complain next time about your kids not getting back up and getting abducted.” Stiles held the phone away from his ear as Gabriel yelled.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY SON WAS ABDUCTED!?! HE WASN’T EVEN ON SHIFT TONIGHT!”
“Dude, would I be calling you so casual if he was still in danger? He has a bit of a head injury that might need stitches but I got here before worse happened. On the positive side he did break a serial killer case that APD was dismissing because of the victims. If you can notify the officials channels and send paramedics too. The killer is Darryl Jones. His mother Trudie Jones is the one who abducted Carlos because he was dumb enough to explore a crime scene after hours without backup.”
Carlos cringed at Stiles glared at him while tattling to his dad. It was a good thing he was to old to be grounded.
“Yeah, I’ll call his man. I haven’t yelled much. Figured TK deserves that privilege.” Stiles nodded at something Carlos couldn’t hear before hanging up.
“You know my Dad?” Carlos wonders if he woke up in another reality. Stilinski hadn’t mentioned at all this week knowing Gabriel Reyes.
“Long story I can tell you later when we don’t have an audience. Now what is TK’s number?”
“Who is TK?” asked Trudie sniffling.
“His paramedic fiance.”
“Oh weddings are lovely. I’m sure she is beautiful.”
“TK is a guy. But is hot.” Stiles shrugged at the glare Carlos gave him.
“Oh I do love The Gays.”
Stiles blinked before just shaking his head staring at Carlos who rattled off the number.
“Hello?” The phone had only rang twice before TK picked up.
“TK? This is Officer Stilinski.”
“Oh god. What happened to Carlos? He was supposed to be off already.” It was clearly TK was going through worst case scenarios. It made Stiles want to kick Carlos in the shin hearing the worry but the man was injured enough.
“Deep breath, TK. Your fiance is a certified dumbass but he’ll be okay. I’m just not sure what time he’ll be getting home. It depends how long it takes the Rangers and APD to clear us from the scene. He is injured but not to serious, he might need some stitches.”
“WHAT?! Can I talk to him?” TK was throwing on shoes and grabbing keys planning to head out once he knew where to go.
“He was hit in the head with a shovel at least once. Officer Reyes decided it would be a good idea to investigate where Iris Blake was found without backup.” Stiles handed over the phone to Carlos.
“Babe?”
“Hey TK, look I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have-”
“Carlos, I was upset but I also shouldn’t have gone to see Iris without talking to you first. But Babe, how did you get hurt? And I’m coming to you.”
“TK, no, you don’t need too. I’m not that hurt. And Officer Stilinski is watching me closely until everyone else arrives. He called my Dad.”
“He knows your Dad?”
“I know Owen too.” Stiles commented looking up from examining a cupboard that was making Trudie very anxious. He frowned sensing something with his magic before turning to the older woman. “Seriously? You seriously let your son store his serial killing trophies in your kitchen? Gross.”
“Carlos, did he just say serial killer? YOU WERE ATTACKED BY A SERIAL KILLER?”
“No, I was attacked by a serial killer’s mother. I guess. I’m not fully sure where a serial killer came into this honestly. I was unconscious for a bit. But I’m serious TK, you don’t need to come all the way over here. Just wait until I know which hospital I’m getting dragged too.”
“Too late, I’m already in the car on my way to you. Are you really okay at the moment?”
“Yeah, I promise. I guess I’ll see you in a bit then.”
“Alright, I love you.”
“Love you too.” Carlos handed the phone back to Stiles. “Do you know everyone in Austin?”
“Nah, I met Owen a long time ago in New York. I haven’t talked to him since I arrived.” Just then Stiles felt someone cross his wards. “Did you call your son earlier?”
Trudie pressed her lips together without saying anything.
“Stilinski, talk to me, what is wrong?” Carlos started trying to move but his balance was slightly off.
“Stay. I have this handled.” Then Stiles eyes got even wider. “Wait. Well fuck. So Carlos what do you know anything about your Dad’s family?”
“Is now really the time to ask me ice breaking questions?”
“I mentioned it for a specific reason. I need to know how freaked out you are going to be if I start throwing magic around.”
“Are you sure that you weren’t the one hit with a shovel?”
“Cute. No. But we have a werewolf attempting to sneak past my wards.”
“Werewolves aren’t real. I don’t see you having any silver weapons.”
“Silver comes from a mistranslated text a long time ago. There was a family who became notorious for killing werewolves, their last name meant silver. However I am going to hand you the gun with wolfsbane bullets. Shoot if he gets to close to you.” Stiles could tell Carlos still thought he was delusional.
Trudie gasped when this cop seemed to know what her son was already. He also seemed more than ready to kill or injure her baby. Trudie tried to make a sound to warn her son but found her voice wouldn’t work. She glared at the cop she had heard called Stilinski.
“Oh fuck you, like I thought for a second you wouldn’t warn your demon spawn the moment you had the chance.” Stiles shifted again sensing the man coming in a back window.
“Stilinski, this is crazy. Werewolves and magic aren’t re-”
A roar was heard as the door flew open there stood a man. But he was a bit more than just a normal human man. He had claws, fangs and glowing blue eyes. Carlos had the safety off the gun before he registered what he was doing.
“Hey, Reyes, this is a positive. He isn’t an alpha werewolf, just a pathetic beta.” Stiles knew those words would cause Darryl to snap further.
With a roar the man launched himself at Stiles who had picked up a cast iron skillet. Even Carlos had to wince at the sound it made connecting to the werewolf’s skull.
“Bad doggy, no treats for you.” Stiles brought the frying pan down two more times for good measure knowing how tough wolves could be.
“What the hell,” Carlos couldn’t but whisper.
“As I said our killer was a werewolf.”
“You killed my boy!” Trudie started sobbing able to speak again now that her son was unconscious.
“He isn’t dead. Just unconscious. He’ll recover unless he attacks again. Then he goes down for good.” Stiles growled, his flashing red briefly.
“Are you a werewolf too?” Carlos couldn’t believe he was seriously concede ring that werewolves were real.
“Nope. I’m a Spark.”
Trudie gasped in horror. Oh no, what had she done. Her father always taught her to avoid Sparks but especially avoid angering Sparks.
“What’s a spark?” Carlos asked glancing over at the woman and then Stilinski.
“I am.” Stiles smirked but then his phone rang. Cursing softly he answered the call. “Hey Derek, what’s up?”
“Really?” Derek’s sigh was loud. “Are you okay? I felt you tap into the pack bond a minute ago but it felt more annoyance than fear or anger.”
“I’m fine, Derek. I guess I just wanted a little reassurance when I took down a beta with a frying pan.”
“Are you turning into Flynn Ryder?”
“Derek, serious question but when did you watch Tangled? And why didn’t you watch it with me?”
“Eli made me watch it a couple of years ago. And I didn’t know I was supposed to not watch any movies without you.”
Stiles pouted for a moment before hearing sirens coming closer. “Look, I gotta go. The situation isn’t a code red any longer. I’ll call you later to fill you in, okay?”
“No.”
“What do you mean no?”
“No, you can wait to fill us in when we get to Austin.”
Stiles paled looking more than a bit panicked at that. “What do you mean when ‘we’ get to Austin? Why are you coming to Austin and who is ‘we’?”
“I’ll talk with you in the morning, Stiles. Goodnight.”
“Don’t you. Goddammit he hung up on me. I am sprinkling pink wolfsbane in his underwear drawer.” Stiles made a note in his phone.
“Was that your boyfriend?” Carlos asked waiting for the sirens to finally reach them. “He sounded worried.”
“Not my boyfriend.” Stiles sighs frowning trying to figure out why Derek would come to Austin and who would he bring with him. “It is a very complicated thing.”
“Carlos? Stiles?” Gabriel came running in through the open door with his gun drawn.
“Hey Gabe, you are going to need to take charge of the scene right away. We have a serial killing wolf whose human mother helped cover up his decades long crimes. She is the one who abducted Carlos.”
Gabe paused glancing down at the unconscious killer before giving his son a once over for any serious injuries. He had never really wanted Carlos to become involved in the violent side of the supernatural world. Carlos only ever really had interacted with the mystical side of the Reyes family. Granted Carlos didn’t know they were actual mystical and not just strangely superstitious.
“Hey Dad.”
“Hey Carlitos, I am sure you have questions. I’m sorry this is how you found out about the full spectrum of my job. I never wanted this for you.” Gabriel secured Darryl with werewolf proof cuffs.
“THAT IS MY FIANCE IN THERE AND I AM A PARAMEDIC. I KNOW HE IS INJURED NOW LET ME PAST!” An impressive growl from a human could be heard.
Stiles stuck his out to where the patrol officer was trying to get TK to leave. “Let him in. I don’t know where the ambulance is but he can examine Officer Reyes while we wait. The scene is safe currently.”
TK rushed into the kitchen falling to his knees by Carlos seeing the blood still flowing from the cut on his forehead. “Babe?”
“Hey TK, it really isn’t that bad. You know head injuries look worse than it is.”
Stiles snorted knowing how much worse it could have been without his added protection. He stepped back to fill Gabriel in on what he had discovered since the initial phone call. Now earlier in the day Stiles had not had the pleasure of meeting Detective Grier by a quirk of chance. But her luck had just ended as she walked into the room.
“Oh hell no.” Stiles hauled off and punched her, the nose breaking satisfyingly under his fist.
“WHAT THE HELL OFFICER STILINSKI?” yelled both Carlos and TK.
Trying to stop her nose from bleeding. “Lovely to see you again, Stiles. How is your pup these days?”
“Fuck you. What are you doing working in Austin? The Calveras are not friendly with other hunting families.”
“Stiles?” Gabriel frowned trying to figure out what he missed.
“Her married name is Argent. She is Stefano Argent’s widow and former partner.”
“Detective Grier, is this true?” Gabriel was livid that there was an Argent in Austin that nobody knew about.
“What does it matter to you?” The Detective was frustrated that someone knew her past. She had ignored protocols for entering the terriotory for a reason.
“Maybe because he also thinks a murderous witch like you shouldn’t be on APD?”
“I was protecting people. I followed the code.” She glared at Stiles like he was a cockroach she wished to smash.
“Bullshit. The only Argents that ever followed the code was Alison and Chris. And even that is arguable.”
“We will be talking later, Detective Grier but for now get the hell out of my crime scene and case. I’ll be talking over the serial killer case that you had dismissed.” Gabriel couldn’t help but wonder if Grier had taken Iris seriously if his son wouldn’t have to had to pull such a risky move to prove Iris was telling the truth.
“I take it that it would be pointless to try to press charges for assault?” She glared at Stiles.
“Be my guest. I can always go back to bounty hunting.” He crossed his arms not amused. He would call Danny later and have him do a deep dive because why was she in Austin too.
She let out a huff of annoyance and stormed out of the house.
“Did you really have to punch her?” asked Carlos while TK was trying to clean his head wound with the kit he brought with him.
“Oh trust me, she deserves a hell of a lot more. I know of at least one orphan because of her hand.” Stiles looked at cast iron skillet with longing.
“What in the hell is going on?” TK could tell there was a lot going on that he didn’t have enough of the pieces to make a picture with.
“Focus on taking care of Carlos right now, TK. Then later Stiles and I will come over to your house to explain everything.”
“You should ask Owen to come too. He knows some of it.” Stiles said reluctantly. The problem was once Owen knew then Stile’s Dad would also know which department he is attached to now. They hadn’t talked in over a year after their last fight. Any further discussion was put on hold as paramedics had arrived. So had Gabriel’s special team for the forensics and to take the suspects into custody. It was a busy next couple of hours for everyone. Especially since several couldn’t stop their minds from being focus on other things.

Read on AO3
THE APPLES SAT innocuously on the kitchen counter in the secondhand wicker basket with a collection of wax fruit bought from a local thrift store as a random attempt to make the apartment look slightly more lived in without risking actually leaving real fruit lying around to be forgotten and rot. Hidden in plain sight, or so they would claim if anyone asked. After all, something as valuable as a couple of immortality granting apples from Idunn's garden would have been kept in a safe or something, not casually out on the counter... sitting there... waiting.
"They're apples," Charlie said, eyebrows practically climbing into her hairline as she looked at the twins in front of her. "Literal fruit instead of just metaphorical like the three of us. They don't have eyes to stare at you in judgment or whatever."
"They could, though, if you put googly eyes on them," Jack piped up. He was positioned upside down on one end of the giant purple and blue monster couch with his socked feet up the wall and his head hanging off the edge of the seat. "Then they could stare at you. Not sure they'd be that intimidating, though."
"They're intimidating enough without eyes," Jimmy sighed, scrubbing a hand down his face. "We know they aren't actually judging us, but it still feels like we're being judged the longer they just... sit there."
"Uneaten," Cas chimed in morosely, fingers tracing over the zigzag pattern on the nearest pillow.
"I'm beginning to see where the judgment is coming into play," Charlie sighed. "What did Sam say about it?"
"That it was entirely our choice when or even if we decided to eat them," Jimmy mumbled, looking down. "That he loves us both more than any standing in any Court to which he's beholden and is prepared to be with us for the rest of our lives, however long that ends up being. He wouldn't have accepted our proposal if that wasn't the case."
"That's sweet," Charlie admitted. "Unhelpful, but sweet."
"Unhelpful but sweet" had, unfortunately, pretty thoroughly summed up Sam's attitude regarding the apples' presence in the twins' apartment. He had listened patiently when Jimmy and Cas had called him in a panic after finding them in a brown paper bag on their coffee table with a note from Idunn herself that hadn't made much sense, something about Loki and favors repaid. And he had come over and inspected the note and the apples to be sure they were genuine and not some trick being played out of either malice or mischief. The confirmation that the apples were indeed the genuine article direct from Idunn herself had not done anything to assuage the twins' anxiety, and that had been when Sam had sat them down and told them that it was their choice but that he couldn't help them make it.
"I'm already immortal," he explained softly, holding their hands loosely in his. "To what degree, I don't actually know, since the number of half-fae raised in the Seelie Courts is very low and we're all still waiting to see what exactly will happen, but the fact is that I can't help you make this decision because I never had a decision to make. I can tell you what it's like to live as an immortal among mortals, knowing that however much I care for the friends I make who become like family to me, that I will inevitably outlive them... but it's not the same thing."
The prospect of outliving their family was already something that Cas and Jimmy intellectually understood, since it was statistically likely that they would outlive their parents, aunts and uncles, and even some of their cousins who were born before they were. But this was the prospect of outliving not just their age peers but the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of those peers. Probably longer, barring being much less lucky in the event of another alicorn incursion or any number of other things that could occur. The apples would make them unaging and harder to kill, but not truly immortal in all senses.
And they were right there.
"It doesn't feel real," Cas said at length, carefully picking out the words. He could feel Charlie and Jack looking at him and kept his gaze on the kitchen counter. "We didn't do anything to earn them. No battle, no quest, no struggle to prove ourselves worthy... it feels like cheating to just... be given them like this."
"You went on a quest to find security against being unmade, right?" Jack spoke up, tapping one foot against the wall. "Well, who said the quest actually stopped when you found Daddy and made the bargain with him?"
"What do you mean, Jack?" Jimmy asked, sitting up. "We came, we found him, we made the bargain, Sam cast his spell, and we worked off the exchange."
"And then you stayed," Jack pointed out, his upside down smile coming out a bit lopsided. "You stayed on to work in the cafe, even though you could have gone back to your parents. You got this place and this couch, put down roots and made yourself a home here. You made friends with Balt and Meg and Donna and Amelia, hung out with Charlie and Daddy and me outside of work. When Daddy and I invited you to come spend my birthday with us, you did. And you met my mom.
"And when the alicorns attacked, you didn't run away, and you helped me take care of Daddy, and let Daddy take care of you when you got sick. You met Grandma Mary and Uncle Adam and Uncle Dean and didn't let them chase you away. You hugged Uncle Geth when you met him, just accepted him as he is and as a part of Daddy. And I've seen you both doing battle against some of the jerks who come into the cafe and are mean to you." He shrugged, ruching his shirt up a bit against the couch cushion. "Quests don't have to be flashy to be important. And you gotta admit eating those apples would be pretty solid insurance against being unmade."
"Is it enough?" Cas asked, picking at the weave of the pillow. "The possibility of eternity with Sam... is the balance enough?"
"I dunno," Jack said, shrugging again. "I mean, I'm eight. My life has barely started. And I'm not gonna live that much longer than a human will, by the numbers. But you're gonna marry Daddy, and you'll be my Papas, and I like the thought that one day a long time from now when I'm gone, you three will have each other. And you'll have to see people die, but you'll also get to see their kids and grandkids be born. And really, Miss Idunn thinks what you've been through is enough, or she wouldn't have given you the apples, right?"
"Kid's got a point," Charlie hummed. She looked back and forth between Jimmy and Cas. "Is it a suspense issue? 'Cause they're just sitting there and you've built it up and now it feels too big to just eat them?"
Jimmy looked at Cas.
Cas looked at Jimmy.
"Yes," they chorused.
"Okay then," Charlie said. "Make eating them part of your wedding ceremony?"
"No," Cas shook his head.
"Too much pressure," Jimmy added.
"Call Daddy over and have a small ceremony here," Jack suggested. "You're both gonna eat them, right? So promise each other that you'll always be together, that you'll always be there for each other. That you're choosing to be what you were created for." He grinned. "And then, once you eat the apples, Daddy can make dinner for you this time!"

Hi!
I don't know if you've already mentioned it or assumed it, but I'm still wondering what you think about the possibility that Sakura might actually be the "god" shown in the pilot? I know that in general, all of the FIRST chapters are unofficial, and in theory, have nothing to do with canon, but still I allow for the idea, and it has been confirmed in general, that somehow or other, Sakura is/was the leader of all the school mysteries. So I wonder.
Also. Again, I don't know if you've talked about this, so if I'm repeating myself, I apologize, you can ignore what I said.
Hello Hello Anon :DDD no worries! I wasn't asked this question yet and even if I was it is no problem at all ^^
Thanks for the ask!
There have been a lot of theories about Sakura being the 'God' Hanako was talking about in the first chapters or as in the pilot as you said :000
Tumblr media
Honestly I have no idea :'DD Sakura seems indeed really strong/have a lot of authority.
Sakura being the real leader or at least having a lot of impact of the mysteries seems pretty clear too :00
Tumblr media
Even before I thought Tsuchi was the traitor because of this for example ahah
Hakubo doesn't hesitate to do what she asks, and we know Hakubo mostly follows orders of his 'master'.
I do think she could be the being who said to Hanako what to do (so the god he mentions), since she has authority over the mysteries, and Hakubo seemed to not question at all what she said. She could be the one who told ghost Amane that he had to be Hanako-san of the toilet to have his sin forgiven. I do think this is a big possiblity, since as I said, she is the one who appointed Hakubo as number 6. She could have appointed a lot of the mysteries, Hanako not being an exception.
The strange thing to me is that it is pretty clear that she still has to "obey" to Tsukasa (and probably the godlike entity in him). She can only talk to Nene because she knows Tsukasa is not here too.
Tumblr media
She is bound to him and can't do what she wants because she asked for a wish from Tsukasa. And we do all know what wishes mean in Hanako kun.
A lot fo things about Sakura makes me go ????????
Tumblr media
Because of this for example. I do think now it's mostly a lie, or at least something she wished she was. But I won't erase the possiblity of her being human before.
Tumblr media
Sakura's goal is to finally go outside and to destroy all barriers between life and death (the near and far shore). I wouldn't be that surprised if Sakura is a god, I don't think it's impossible for a god or supernatural to be bound to another one.
Tumblr media
And it is pretty clear to me that she is not from the livings nor from the deads (or she just doesn't care about disappearing) So what can she be expect for a god like entity? (tbh, I also think when she says that, it means that the labels won't exist anymore but I am really really not sure)
I do know that a lot of person think that the god in Tsukasa could be the one Hanako mentions too :0 But I think since there are 'Kamis' in tbhk there isn't only one god. For me Tsukasa has a godlike thing in him but it doesn't erase the fact that Sakura could be a god too. Even some mysteries could be Kamis too, it was said several times. There are a lot of different gods in tbhk and I think it would make sense if Sakura is the one who appointed Hanako as number 7.
And tbh we are missing a lot of 'rules' about the seven mysteries, the gods and links in tbhk to say anything concrete for now in my opinion :// AidaIro probably left some hints but definitely didn't explain
I honestly don't really know what to say XD I think we don't have that much on Sakura and I also think her being named Nanamine (with 7 in her name) is also mostly because we will learn about her with Hanako and Tsukasa's backstory :00 I think we will have some info about her with the mysteries left! For the broadcasting club, they only have Hanako and the clock keepers' yorishiro to destroy (they absolutely don't care about Mitsuba's yorishiro big rip). And I hope we will know more about the seven mysteries and her too in the next chapters ^^
Idk if this is what you really wanted to know Anon :'DD This is pretty messy because I don't think we have that much things about her for now (and tbh this is not the plot that interest me the most so I don't go full crazy about it :00 I can be wrong on a lot of things because I don't know all her appearance in the manga as well as others characters) I don't have that much to say, I really wanna know more about her hdskjhdskj
thanks again for the ask!

I don't care too much about BNHA, but do you know what I care the least about? Spoilers, so please if you don't mind TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN THE MANGA RN PLEASE I WANNA KNOW
So I am waaaaay fucking behind on the current manga(because I'm just getting into the series and am learning most of it through osmosis). The ONLY reason I'm paying attention is because my favorite character was very much dead for a hot minute there.
Things I know are happening:
I think this might be the final battle of the series where they're going to take out All for One(the Big Bad Villain of the series)
pretty much everyone is involved somehow. All the Heroes and Villains are on the battlefield. We get glimpses of every other character who isn't a combatant watching and reacting to what's happening.
Except Izuku, our main goddamn character, who is somewhere fucking else for god knows what fucking reason I'm sure it'll make sense when I get there but he's not fucking here.
We got Bakugo vs. Shigaraki fight where Bakugo def got fucked up but he did more damage to Shigaraki than expected given.... whatever the fuck is going on between Shigaraki and AfO I have no idea I'm not clear on that.
AfO was kinda fucked up from a thing that happened pre-Canon but he's now kinda healed but might be over-healing into erasing his existence but for now he is walking the battlefield dick out(which is making the fans go 'heart eyes motherfucker I'm down to forgive your war crimes!') and he's just stealing clothes(and Quirks) from random Heroes.
Back to my boy: Bakugo got very fucked up and like. Major damage to his heart and is kinda Mostly Ghostly right now and we get some heartbreaking thing about an All Might trading card he's been carrying for a decade that his dying thoughts are 'huh. Wish I took the opportunity to get this signed....'
Best Jeanist and Edgeshot are attempting to do some impromptu battlefield heart transplant which might kill Edgeshot in the process and has also had the fandom making 'Jeart' memes because as you can guess from the name 'Best Jeanist', his powers include manipulation of denim fibers.
I forgot to mention that this battle essentially girlfriend-coded Bakugo because Shigaraki is trying to tear him apart specifically to hurt Izuku when he finally shows up and sees his friend's dead body and I say 'girlfriend-coded' because 'hurting/killing a major character in an attempt to break our Main Character' is usually reserved for a girlfriend but Shigaraki outright said that Bakugo is the person closest to Izuku and is the death that would hurt the most. And while this is def true because they're main characters who have a lot of connections and history, most series would 'forget' this and trade this role for the female love interest to be in danger for the Hero to save.
So they kinda fucking Supernatural-ed it by making it gay and killing him off (though Bakugo is probably going to live).
Also Dabi is still kicking but extra crispy now and no one's sure what the fuck is up with that and I'm like 'my motherfucker in christ please stand down and get some therapy for your daddy issues'.
Which is unfortunately something I could say to SEVERAL characters in this series but I digress.

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)? For Hel or for Karin if you'd prefer! // @nightmarecountry
Tumblr media
Hel's eyes are an inhuman, unnatural green. The sickly bright hue of a particularly pure thread of malachite, too pale and bright to even pretend at human make. They are all the paler in direct sunlight, fading eerily against the white of her eyes. In her glamoured form, it's one of the more overt signs of her true nature.
In her true form, the eyes have the added oddity of appearing more birdlike. Rather like a raptor, the iris takes up most of her visible eye, rimmed with black at the very edges. Without wing, feather, or beak, this is one of the few hints that she takes up the more avian aspects of her father's forms, compared to her brothers as stallion, serpent, and wolf.
People do notice her eyes, as if drawn to them. To some, they're the eyes of a dead woman, a reminder of her absent grandmother who she so favors. To others, it's simply an unnerving indicator that something supernatural stands before them. Those who are more accustomed to strangeness, her eyes might even be called beautiful, or frightful, or some merger of the two that means the same thing.
Other than the aforementioned special traits of color/bird of prey shape, Hel largely shows emotions through her eyes. It is said that an inhuman creature, even shapeshifted, cannot hide their eyes true nature. This is true of Hel whether glamoured so others might tolerate her or in her own true form and playing at impassive coolness. Her eyes betray her in every sense.
Tumblr media
I'm pretty sure I have it on the blog as old lore that Karin had bright grey eyes, but forget that. I lied to you. I played myself. Karin now and as set in stone canon has the same rich, dark eyes of her FC. While some might have warm brown eyes with amber or hazel undertones, Karin's eyes skew more towards black. They're deep and cool, practically drops of ink in low light.
It matches with her brown hair and is one of those traits that just makes her seem average -- she is, in fact, the only daughter in the family not to inherit her mother's vibrant grey eyes. If one wanted to be rude or appeal to Western beauty standards at face value, you could infer her eyes are also part of why she's considered the least pretty of the Lindholm girls. She instead has her father's dark eyes, proving that national stereotypes are just that, since her dark complexioned father is the Swede and her mother is a fair-haired American that none of the children really took after.
They are pretty eyes, though, if anyone cares to look. She rarely dolls them up beyond a bit of eyeliner, as they'll be obscured or enlarged by her glasses anyway, which does them an injustice. For that reason, most don't pay too much attention to them, or focus instead on how unflattering her old spectacles make her eyes look.

"This feels like a war crime," but there's a voice in the back of your mind that says something else, something you don't quite understand; I'm pretty sure this violates the Geneva Conventions.
"Oh yeah? And who exactly is going to stop me? One of the other war criminals?" Jschlatt spits, but for some strange reason, you hear an echo of his voice in your head, spoken still with vitriolic sarcasm, but his words don't quite make sense; show me where Geneva is in this world, Y/N, show me on the map. The intent is still the same, still who cares, who cares, who cares, I'm going to kill you, but it's like the arguing voices in your mind are your intentions, and the words you speak are done so through an automatic filter without even meaning to.

19. What’s something you so desperately want to write, but you haven’t gotten around to it yet?
if i want to write something i'll write it, it just depends on whether i'll follow through and finish and publish it, so i'll take this as something i desperately want to finish and show the world but haven't gotten around to yet, and i have a few.
How The Light Gets In - i'm haunted and vexed because im so in love with that universe.
“Can you stop trying to corrupt Sykkuno for five fucking minutes, Y/N?” He’d snapped during a meeting while you were obviously the imposter, trying to get Sykkuno on your side like a silver-tongued serpent. While the others had laughed about it, you had gone noticeably quiet. Enough so that there was a growing sense of dread in the pit of his stomach, hair standing up on the back of his neck.
While Corpse’s words were said with genuine irritation, the next words out of your mouth were frankly venomous.
“Sorry we can’t all be a paragon of fucking virtue, Corpse,” you’d spat, and the rest of the VC had gone dead silent. Corpse swallowed hard, furious that you’d managed to pierce his armour and point out his insecurity with one sentence.
What You Love You Devour - again, over 20k, i just reread it and like.... it needs so much work but i LOVE villain!reader, and also q corruption arc my beloved,, here is a moment from the reader finally snapping and confronting q in the prison when he's there to torture dream who'd agreed to revive wilbur in exchange for a favour;
“Before breaking your cheap, little heart, I hadn’t been honest a day in my life; everyone had told you as much, you chose to ignore them; did you think you could fix me?” You gave a harsh laugh, stepping forward, crowding him into taking a step back, expression irate, trying to keep up his strong front, “Actually, I guess, wow, you did; since you, I haven’t told a lie,” and you gave him a derisive look, “because fucking you up wasn’t a challenge, making you fall in love with me wasn’t a challenge, getting you to the point where you’d die for me? Not a fucking challenge, Quackity. You offered me your life and it fucking bored me.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY IM DESPERATE TO FINISHED BUT YOU'RE TALKING IN YOUR SLEEP it means so much to me rn
“You and your flatmates are the hipster crowd, you don’t need my help with that,” you point out, instead immediately offering the alternative of, “you should slap it in the corner of your first album.” The assuredness of your words, even amidst this joke, catch him by surprise. First album, as if you knew there’s be more than one. But you’re still talking; “you know I do mean weird bitch as a compliment, right?”
“Y/N, you’re a weird bitch,” Wilbur says it fondly, say it like he means obviously. You beam.
“See that’s what I like, you know? People are afraid to be weird bitches but weird bitches make the world go round.”
20. What is something that you know more than you will ever need to because you’ve done copious amounts of research about it for a fic?
hahaha that's the thing, i tend to take my hyperfixations and cram them into my fics, rather than research topics i'm not already interested in. the mafia? an old hyperfixation. lighting design? my profession. the music industry? my last BIG hyperfixation was classic rock and i wrote 600k about that and i have family history there. Dante Alleghri's Divine Comedy? i own it and have already read it for fun. aslkjfslkdjfh even going beyond youtube fics i can't really think of researching something FOR a fic that i didn't already have a vested interest in. a detailed knowledge of A Midsummer Night's Dream? i was in the play as Puck when i wrote that fic. the suburban layout and culture of a small australian lake-side town? set in my grandfather's old town. the process of addiction recovery? i'm in AA -
WAIT NO I'VE THOUGHT OF ONE
michellin stars. i dedicated a reasonable amount of time finding out how the michellin star system came to be and when it was expanded to America, and the history from there, for a oneshot for a developed classic rock OC lmfao,, and yes, michellin stars and michellin tyres ARE the same michellin.

SPN has so much spinoff potential and so much canon to work with, it's such a waste that none of it's getting used. This post is just all of my spinoff ideas, I'll apologize in advance because it is VERY long.
Wayward Sisters, obviously. There are so many possible storylines to work with, so many stories to tell. I'd really love to see some Charlie, Eileen, or Krissy Chambers cameos. I think that Charlie and Claire would get along really well (just read this post). Rowena is another character that I think could easily be worked into the canon. She could teach the girls all kinds of magic and be the fun wine aunt that spoils the girls on their birthdays. I don't think that Claire would like her very much, but, Rowena and Alex would probably get along just fine. How much I need this in my life: 1000000000000000000000000/10 when I heard that this idea had been tossed out I was so angry. Why doesn't this exist?
Men of Letters prequel that's mostly set in the bunker. This show could really expand on the canon lore and give us some more background on the Men of Letters, as well as any other similar/rival organizations that were around before the main show's time. The Men of Letters have so much story potential for a spin-off; corrupt leadership, new monsters, other organizations, expanding the MoL to outside the U.S. Episodes could be in a monster-of-the-week (MOTW) format, starting and ending with the Man of Letters the case is assigned to making notes in his journal or case file or talking about the case, as well as the overall season arcs. Episodes would be titled by their case number, i.e S1 E1 Case No. 1925-4, etc How much I need this in my life: 1000000/10, the supernatural/historical drama combo would be absolutely stunning.
A series focusing on all of the alternate timelines and universes, both the ones mentioned in the main show and ones just randomly created for an episode. There are infinite possibilities. Each episode would be in a MOTW format, but with different versions of Sam and Dean. The HunterCorp universe, Jared and Jensen from the French Mistake, a universe where their names are switched, a universe where Dean went to college and was the one with the demon blood powers, a universe where they drive a Mustang instead of the Impala, a universe where Sam isn't scared of clowns. I could go on, but I'm going to stop myself here. How much I need this in my life: 9/10 I think it would be pretty funny, but it's not my best idea.
A Bobby and Rufus spin-off where they talk about cases they worked on together or with other hunters, but the stories are told similarly to Tall Tales. It's the same story but told from different points of view depending on who's talking. I wish we'd gotten to see more of Bobby and Rufus because I think those two are hilarious and really think that this could be funny, even if it was just a web series with twenty-minute episodes. How much I need this in my life: 10/10, I love Bobby and Rufus and I think that they have a lot of interesting hunting stories to tell.
GHOSTFACERS GHOSTFACERS GHOSTFACERS. How much I need this in my life: 100000000000000000000000/10, I love the Ghostfacers. That's my whole idea.
A Jack-centric show that's almost a political drama. Jack is the ruler of heaven and is constantly being manipulated by angels, demons, and Death herself. He just wants to make an afterlife paradise, but power-hungry angels won't leave him alone. Remember that Jack is very young and trusting by nature, so there is a lot of potential for disaster if he gets goaded into doing something, like making new universes or ending existing ones. Cas is a main character and he does his best to protect Jack, but he has to be careful to not seem overprotective/like another manipulator or Jack won't trust him either. I have no idea if I'm making any sense, but shoutout to me if I am. For some reason, I've always thought that heaven would be an interesting setting for a spin-off, and those angels are pretty similar to power-hungry politicians. How much I need this in my life: 800/10, I would totally watch this.
A very short series that just destroys the canon finale. Twelve episodes, detailing the storylines that were ignored or destroyed by Carry On. E1: Rescuing Cas from the Empty and he and Dean have a long talk about their ~feelings~. They kiss, and for the first time, Dean’s mind is free of doubt about whether or not anyone could ever love all of him. E2: Eileen returns. She says nothing when she sees Dean and Cas holding hands, just raises her eyebrow and smiles knowingly. Some excellent movie night content. E3: 1 year later. Sam and Eileen’s wedding. Dean and Cas aren’t legally married, but their matching gold rings are very prominently shown. It isn’t mentioned. The wedding is almost canceled because of the rain, but with a wave of Jack’s hand the clouds disappear and the birds start to sing. E4: Sam and Eileen have moved out of the Bunker. Cas finally convinces Dean to downsize, so they find a little house in Lawrence and settle down. Cas works as a special ed teacher. Dean works as a mechanic. Miracle loves the backyard but makes sure to stay away from the beehives in the back corner. E5: Sam and Eileen’s twins, Mary and Maura, are born. Dean and Cas love their nieces, and Jack loves them too. He doesn’t know what to call himself, so they settle on Uncle and call it good. E6: Deaths. They all die old. Cas’s vessel has aged, but he can’t die, so when Dean finally passes away in his sleep, Cas scatters his ashes in the woods and disappears, ascending to heaven, to spend eternity with Dean. The closing scene is a dark screen, with the whoosh of wings and a soft “Hello, Dean.” OK. That was a long one. My apologies. How much I need this in my life: 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10. I would reach nerdvana thirty seconds into episode one.
Another spinoff of that idea is just...Dean and Cas living a normal life. Short episodes. Cas goes to the grocery store. Dean drags Cas to a horror movie fan convention. Cas meets a roomba. How much I need this in my life: I can’t type enough zeroes to express it.
Campbell prequel that focuses on Mary and her childhood. Mary being raised as a hunter but not being allowed on hunts. Mary rushing home to finish her chemistry homework so she can help her dad track a nest of vampires moving east. Mary missing her prom to help Samuel on a hunt. Mary trying to keep her real life secret from John, a man she knows loves the parts of her he knows about. Mary always being an outsider, the kindest and most beautiful girl in her class, but so slow to trust and quick to speak that everyone is afraid to be her friend. Mary is a character that has the potential a lot more development, for twelve seasons she’s the burning martyr in every Winchester’s imagined paradise. She deserves more. How much I need this in my life: 11/10, Mary isn’t my favorite character but I would die for her.
Gabriel spin-off. That’s it, that’s the idea. How much I need this in my life: 10000000/10, Gabriel is a character that we don’t know a lot about so there are so many possible directions for a story about him to go.
Show set in the SPN universe that doesn’t really interact with the main show’s canon. It’s about two cops in the 30s that become hunters by accident. After investigating the apparent suicide of a hunter in their small town, they become enthralled by her library, filled with books about ghosts and vampires. They pour over her journals on their own time, fascinated by what they’re reading. They get to know the hunter through her writings, her accounts of her hunts and travels. Eventually, a nest of vampires settles in the town and the two put their newfound knowledge to the test. This show would just be based on canon lore, there wouldn’t be any mention of the Winchesters or other main characters, although a few MoL team-ups is definitely a possibility. The two become quite a team, tracking werewolf backs on bulletin boards in their basements and hoarding rock salt. How much I need this in my life: 89/10, I think this could be really interesting and I am a sucker for historical hunters.
Speaking of historical hunters-Samuel Colt prequel. Cowboys, vampires, cowpires. Hunting in the wild west, galloping across the prairie chasing a pack of werewolves. This show could also tell us a lot about how different types of monsters spread across the U.S. Ghosts will go anywhere people go, but what about vampires? Shapeshifters? Ghouls? What was it like to hunt without technology to help with research? The hunters in this series would be the authors of the journals that modern hunters use every day. They’re the ones that tested tracking and trapping methods. Again, no idea if this is making sense, but I think that a supernatural western would be really awesome and would expand/substantiate the canon lore. How much I need this in my life: 1000000000000000000000000000000/10, I love cowboys and I love Supernatural. This is literally the best thing that could ever happen to me.
Crowley. I want to know more about him. A series that tells us all about Fergus Roderick MacLeod, starting with when he was born in Scotland and ending with his death in All Along the Watchtower. We know that Rowena was his mother, that he was a tailor, that he sold his soul for an extra three inches ~down there~, and that he was a terrible dad. I want to know more about his childhood, about the people he made deals with, about how he became king of the crossroads and of Hell. Crowley was a very interesting character that was abused by the story. I want to know more about him. How much I need this in my life: 10000000000000000000000000000000000000/10, I really do love Crowley and I would watch this a thousand times over.
Final idea: MOTW only. No season arc, no overall storyline. New hunters every episode, from all different times, from over the world. All kinds of monsters. One episode in Victorian England, the next in 1990s Los Angeles. Very few recurring characters, if any. The recurring characters would be the Bobby Singers of the world; the lore guys that you call when you need help. Each new character has their own style, own car, own music, own personality. The show could have some a m a z i n g guest stars because they’d only appear in a few episodes. There are so many possibilities for episodes, even if they weren’t full length. How much I need this in my life: 100000/10, I love MOTW episodes and would really like to get to know the characters. It would be very easy to write one-off fanfics for this show, and also very easy to introduce this show’s characters into Supernatural’s canon.
You made it to the end!!!!!!!! That’s all I have for now. Sorry for writing so much, I just can’t stop thinking about SPN and all of the wasted stories.

writing tag game!
Thanks @clyde-side for the tag! Though I'm not sure why you'd tag me, I'm not much of a fic writer! 🤣
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
17! But the vast majority of these are old fics that I wrote during my LJ days that I imported into AO3. They also don't include the fics I decided not to import from either LJ or fanfiction.net
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
65,925
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Everyone's Going Crazy (Or Maybe It's Just Me) Ace Attorney, Klavier/Apollo, 2k words, 2008 (Fun fact about this one - it's the oldest dated fic in the Klavier/Apollo tag!)
falling stupid for you Guardian, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan, 21k words, 2021
The Course of True Love Supernatural, Destiel, 11k words, 2019
Fashion Sense Merlin (BBC), Merlin/Arthur, 1k words, 2009
it's not a miracle you need Supernatural, Destiel, 7k words, 2020
4. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I've replied to most of my comments! Because they always make me very happy so I want to thank them for taking the time to comment!
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Hmm, my Supergirl fic Surrender is fairly dark. It's my only femslash fic on AO3 (I have femslash fic for The OC and Loveless on fanfiction.net/LJ), but it's about a character and her evil alter-ego, so kinda like selfcest lmao. I have some other fics that are kinda dark, but this one is the most recently written (from 2018)
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics have happy endings, I don't really know which one has the happiest one!
7. Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
I was going to say I don't, but then I remembered that in 2009 I did write a crossover fic. It was a gen fic for Kingdom Hearts and Tales of the Abyss. I never imported this into AO3. But ever since then I have never been interested in writing crossovers. I have been tempted to write fusion fics though.
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Nope!
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Once upon a time I did. But not in a very, very long time. I find sex scenes in fic to be for the most part boring as fuck, so I don't waste time writing them.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think my fics are good enough to get stolen lol
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I would drop dead from happiness if that happened, but alas I'm still alive
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope
13. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
I think the obvious contender for this one is Destiel, since I started shipping them in 2008 and have been shipping them ever since. But it's not always my favorite ship of the moment. New fandoms often capture my fancy. The entirety of 2021 demonstrates that pretty well, I've gained so many new ships from Asian dramas lol. But I haven't stopped shipping Destiel.
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I don't really have any WIPs. There is one Destiel AU WIP I tried to write for NaNoWriMo in 2019 but I gave up on it and tbh I hate it, I'd have to do a whole rewrite if I ever revisited it. But I probably won't.
15. What are your writing strengths?
I have none lol but I like writing dialogue the most
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Basically everything else about writing except dialogue. I hate writing descriptions of settings and stuff. All I care about is characters talking to each other.
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Since I've been reading fanfic for Asian fandoms for 8 months now, using some terminology from another language is only natural. Particularly the stuff that isn't really translatable into English, like how the characters refer to each other in canon. Like in Mandarin, the use of familial words even when they're not related (like -ge/-jie), or titles (-gongzi) or other nicknames (lao-/xiao-). Or in Thai, younger people using Phi/P' for their seniors. And of course any other relevant words that describe food or other parts of their culture. But that's as far as I'd go, for the most part.
At least these days... in 2008 I wrote an Ace Attorney drabble in which Phoenix and Edgeworth speak in French, but that was the entire point of the drabble. I think it'd be weirder if there was full dialogue in another language in a story where that wasn't the point, but still I admit to my hypocrisy when it comes to this topic lol.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Weiss Kreuz, on fanfiction.net in 2002. It was really, really bad lol.
19. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Probably falling stupid for you (the Guardian fic). It's not well-written or anything but it was pure self-indulgence. It was a fic I really enjoyed writing!
Tagging: I don't remember off the top of my head how many mutuals I have that write fanfic, so if you do write fanfic and you want to fill this out, go ahead and do so and say I tagged you!

Hey! I kinda stumbled into your post about The Magicians and, as someone who a) is also interested in fandom culture and b) was an active member of The Magicians fandom during its highest (and lowest) points, I thought I'd share some of the context revolving around the shipping controversy.
So, during the first two seasons, the central m/f ship clearly seems like endgame, with no big hints about the main character being anything but straight. Sure, because the protagonist's best friend is a queer man who has a crush on him, and there are the usual queerbaty lines here and there, they were a big ship among the fandom, but nothing more. Until season 3 came along, and had something of a bottle episode, where the two get stranded in the past together and are explicitly in a romantic relationship. After they return, both kinda acknowledge the fact, but The Plot comes knocking. Shippers became more numerous, and some people started speculating that they could be a viable ship, but most of the fandom took it as a nod from the writers and a self-contained story that wouldn't come back.
All the while, the show's social media accounts hyped up this pairing more than any other, and made frequent remarks suggesting more canon recognition. Virtually every week you'd find a tweet, a poster, and so on, that egged people on. And by this point, the showrunners had the audience's trust due to their handling of other topics. There were more POC than usual for TV, the main character's chronic depression was an ongoing struggle, things like addiction and trauma were handled in believable ways. By having a self-described "depressed supernerd", who is comfortable with being bi/ pan, and storylines that catered to a queer neurodivergent audience, during three years they grew and grew in popularity and as a safe space for exactly these groups. I was one of those: I'm a historian, and pretty used to consuming media critically; I wasn't a teenager who's never seen herself represented, but an adult who got used to looking for good representation when I want to find it, or just watching things with no expectations for the fun of it, and at most dissecting the "what ifs". This show stroke me as the former, and became the relaxing and understanding queer space I ran into after a very long week. And there were A LOT of people in a similar situation.
Then came Season 4, and that's when things got tricky. Because you see, for three years they told us this show was clever, and it turned out to actually be; that this was a subversive and complex story being told in an absurdist way, and all that came to fruition. So when, with this season, there was both a flashback confirming that the main character wanted to persue a romantic relationship with his best friend, like in the past, but got turned down, and a very final break up between him and the girl who seemed like endgame for the first seasons, shipping went from "cool but unlikely pairing" to "damn, that's a great subversion of queerbaiting!". And their social media, trailers, released images and so on confirmed that to the audience (the tweet I recall better had the main m/f pairing, with a closed book, and was captioned with something on the lines of "a chapter ends so that another can begin"). The protagonist spent the entire season trying to rescue the guy he'd confessed feelings for. In a moment where they'd have to establish his identity, the frase said by said guy was the same reference used to talk about the bottle episode multiple times before. The nature of their relationship having changed is acknowledged by another character. At the end of the day, it seemed like a clearly confirmed fact.
And that's when the protagonist dies. There's a lot more ugliness around his death and how it was handled by the script, or how the showrunners pat themselves in the back. But it suffices to say that when an audience is mostly composed of "queer depressed supernerds", killing off the person who represented how someone like this could not only survive, but thrive, is more than a little traumatic. And doing so without ever giving the oh-so-central amd hyped up m/m relationship any ending, good or bad, makes it all seem both pointless and mean spirited.
Sorry about the gigantic text; this was such a unique fandom response and situation that I'm still quite fascinated by it (something like the near perfect creation and corruption of a vulnerable community's safe space). I don't know if you care about it, but just in case this interests you as well, now you have a summary.
hi hello! first, thanks for the extremely thoughtful post, it was interesting (I don't explicitly remember what I said in my post but I very much do remember being fascinated by the fall out of what the show did at the time) (I swear I'll finish pick it from S2 one day, though I'll admit I personally found season one a bit of a slog).
I remember reading enough posts from people on here and articles on sites like io9 to agree that what they did re killing off the bipolar I believe? lead and framing it as a noble sacrifice or something was in extremely poor taste, and I sympathise(d) with all the people who could relate to him and their grief coz like you said, even from my outsider perspective it seemed very ugly on the part of the show.
as far as the ship part of the conversation goes, I'm still largely ignorant of that from a first hand experience pov. but generally speaking, for me, I was and still am fascinated by what these (often lower budget, American CW/syfy etc) shows do to kinda stoke or fan fandom expectations/wants vs what fandoms do to themselves to set themselves up for a fall (canon vs fanon basically). in other words, how much a show queerbaits its audience vs how much the audience queerbaits itself, if that makes sense. not at all saying that's what happened in your fandom, again I haven't yet seen enough of the show to form an opinion on the ship aspect, but really just generally with those kind of shows (Supernatural being the big one recently, that Roswell show, even Teen Wolf going way back).
I usually find myself coming to the conclusion that like most things it's not a black and white issue, and that there's a certain amount of "blame" for lack of a better word on both sides. but again that's usually an observation from me as like a satellite to these shows and fandoms, not really valid in many senses, just something that eases the itchy part of my brain that's super intrigued when these fandom dramas explode as they're prone to do.
but no, I deffo do care in a larger sense so thanks so much! I'll deffo save this in case I ever get around to finishing the show for myself
