Event FAQ

Regarding TFB

What does TFB stand for?

TFB originally stood for Tickle Fic Bloggers, as a tag some tickle Tumblr vets used in the early community days. It evolved to Tickle Fandom Bloggers as the community grew to include more than just fanfic writers.

Regarding Giftee Assignment

Do we get to choose which prompts/pairings we write for after we choose fandoms or is it just assigned randomly?

As the event host, I have a super fun albeit chaotic puzzle to unravel between all of the participants requests and what they feel comfortable creating for. Once I have received all of the Fandom Registrations (Due Nov 12th by midnight PST), I will go through the lists and begin pairing folks off by fandom. This isn't to say your Giftee is also making your gift, though that does occasionally happen. In an effort to create as much diversity within the pieces being made, I tend to assign from most to least niche, but there will always be plenty of more popular fandoms produced naturally.

Once you've recieve your assignment, you then have the freedom to choose within the options provided by your Giftee. For example:

Fandom One ~ Character A x B* ~ Character B* x C ~ Character A & D Fandom Two ~ Character A x B ~ Character B x C ~ Character A* x B x C Prompts ~ Scenario 1 ~ Scenario 2 ~ Scenario 3

As the Magic Maker, you then just have to choose the pairing and prompt that resonates with you the most! Such as:

Fandom 2, Pairing 3, Scenario 1

Regarding Posting Timeframe

Once the assignments are given out, are they do by December 31 or on December 31? Or just any time during that month?

Posting for the event is during the entire month of December to keep with the holiday spirit. That said, you’re more than welcome to queue it up for Dec 1st at 12:01am your time to be one of the first ones if you finish early 😁 Also, try your very hardest to have your art or fic completed and posted by December 31st as this is a holiday exchange!

We totally get that this is a super busy time of the year. If you have any problems, including needing an extension or needing to drop from the event, please please please reach out. I am here to help!

Regarding "The Featherflake" Warm-Up

What's this whole Featherflake thing about? Are we posting and tagging it?

The Featheflake is just the lil symbol in the banner and pfp for this event. Last year I had a buncha folks chomping at the bit to get started before I had the opportunity yo divvy up assignments, so thought it might be a fun idea to give y'all a warm-up activity for anyone who wanted to participate 😊

The non-flowery version of the prompt is to come up with your own interpretation of what a tickly-snowflake (hence Featherflake) would be!

For artists, you guys can design your own versions of a Featherflake.

For writers, that can either be describing it, how it differs from snow, or the lore/story behind it.

...or you can just show what happens when your fave character's interact with the Featherflakes 😏

Heads up: the slideshow is out of order right now, but I'll make a new one sometime in the future.

I've decided to create a new version of the lists of fandoms I'm a part of. The total is 79. (28 in list 1, 28 in list 2, and 29 in list 3)

In there it shows all of what I'm into. From Team Fortress 2 to Gorillaz, from Jack Stauber to Pibby, from My little Pony to Total Drama.

October and now I'm into Fairly OddParents (finishing it up), My Little Pony, Steven Universe, Clone High, the Cuphead Show, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (show), Jack Stauber's Opal, Moral Orel, Baldi's Basics, My Friendly Neighborhood, The Walten Files, and a little bit of There's a Man in the Woods.

August and September was King of the Hill, Summer Camp Island, Bluey, Bojack Horseman, Fairly OddParents Total Drama, Team Fortress 2, Mario Strikers Battle League, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Watching the Rise of the Titans movie and I'll be documenting all of my thoughts/reactions here. [Spoiler Warning]

On a similar but unrelated to the movie note, can we just talk about how toa started with Jim having 0 dads and (if strickler and blinky live to the end) will end with 2 dads? Like I just really feel happy for him that he has two dads who actually figured out how to put the past behind them to not have any infighting between them so that both of them are healthy father figures. Jim has already been through literal hell and back losing his actual humanity in the process so if he loses one of them, I'm going to be really pissed because at this point, this is just Jim torture porn. Y'all know how as SpongeBob SquarePants went on, the show just became Squidward torture porn? It's starting to feel that way for toa and I really hope they cut the shit by the ending

Who did I vote for 'n why? -

Hawks! ..surprisingly. I knew Katsuki would make 1st place anyway (which is what I wanted) but I also wanted hawks to get on the list.

If I'd vote now I'd probably be Shiggy

Why are the results so different this year? -

• My first suspicion was that a lot of new fans started voting ...but it turns out there are actually fewer votes in the top ten this year !

• Maybe people know their actual favorites better by now, so they don't just choose who they liked best in the new season but overall.

• Maybe some charas got hyped or talked about more in events etc. In japan than here.

• I can't say for sure but it's so strange to me. Before this poll there weren't any drastic changes in the polls and most of the votes were comprehensible.

What happened to Hawks and Endeavor? -

• Hawks

↳ The last popularity roll was after he was first introduced . He immediately went on 4th place. I cannot explain to myself how he isn't in the top ten at all now. This is so damn weird .

It's not like he doesn't have fans fangirls he's extremely popular . I was already confused why he isn't getting any official merch by now but now I'm just ｂａｍｂｏｏｚｌｅｄ

• Endeavor

↳ He has been around since the first poll and was never on any spot in the list (1-20) but then in the 4th poll he went to nr.8 . Now he's gone again.

↳ I think this is because of his redemption arc it seemed like he was bettering himself but it became more and more clear that it's not really doing anything w his family.

↳ Another reason might be that we don't have as many interactions of him with Hawks as before ??

1. Bakugou Katsuki 💢 爆豪勝己

Why ?

↳ In my opinion there are lots of justifiable reasons for him to win and keep winning.

• Personality , character development , entertainment , looks , fangirls , waterfalls

•he is kind of an 'outcast' under the students and heroes . Which is also the reason shigaraki thought he'd be easy to 'convert to the dark side' . What i think is the important point in this is that he doesn't do that. His determination to his goal is what is so inspiring in my opinion.

•He's never afraid to say what he thinks and wouldn't lie either. Brutal honesty is entertaining to watch and sometimes you just want someone to say what you would be afraid to.

I'm sure even if you don't like him you've heard all the reasons why he's likable already, so I'm gonna move on now - If you want me to discuss why , how and what makes him so likable/popular tell me in an ask or the comments!!

Does he deserve it?

↳ This is a popularity poll.... There isn't really any debate on whether the opinion is right or wrong. I understand why some fans don't like him but seeing people get mad about a poll like this is straight up ridiculous. You don't like the chara that's popular? - then vote for your fav to be able to compete . Talk more about them and why they're great instead of just listening reasons why the currently popular character isn't.

• I would say because this isn't a right or wrong thing yes of course he does. Whoever wins does , because it's not about the characters actions being morally superior but his likability and connection he has with the fandom/audience.

If we wanna make a poll on which character is the most angel I'd say baby Deku wins! 🖤

2. Midoriya Izuku 🐰 緑谷出久.

I was actually surprised that he got on top of Shouto //no pun intended(͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)// They did have more tight votes than the others .

• It isn't too wild for him to be in second place the more I think about it.

↳ He too has matured and had some major character development taking place from ch.1 to now. The major complaint from ppl who didn't like him was that he's a 'crybaby'. He doesn't cry as often now and if he does it's almost always understandable . His attitude and self-esteem has also gone up quite a bit compared to the first chapters .

He kept all the good stuff in his personality and improved on the 'annoying' stuff . ( I personally never thought he was ¯(°_o)/¯ )

• All around he has a good heart , is more likable than most protagonists , is always working on improving himself , soft boy with the goal to save people. A genuine, non-superficial , real hero at heart.

3. Todoroki Shouto ❄🔥 轟焦凍

We all knew he was gonna be in the top 3

with all the fangirls he's got ... Mh but let's just say even the people that don't love him usually like him. I don't think I've heard a person shit talk Shouto . 🤔

• I personally didn't really pay attention to him until the U.A. Sports Festival Arc! - I know shocking .

In all the arcs after that I kept liking him more and more. I would even say he's one of my favorite characters at this point.

• There are again loads of reasons to like him. We are watching his personal journey into human/social interaction and a normal life outside his toxic household with him. There is genuine tragedy in his story that he himself didn't understand . God damn remember when he said that it was also his fault his mom is gone. We really want to support and help him, but he isn't just a sad story. We see him succeed. We see how strong of a person he is .

There's a lot more I could say about him as well but you get the point.

• oh yeah.. He's also incredibly attractive.

Poll Artwork -

I absolutely love the way Horikoshi Sensei chooses specific themes for these. They're always something to look forward to and are a big part of what makes the popularity polls so exciting!

The designs are so creative and cool . I love that their placement numbers are discreetly incorporated into their suits - the only nitpick I could find is that the villains almost got no changes which is kind of sad in my opinion !

My lord if you would hold me at gunpoint and ask which I like more out of these two I'd probably get shot . They're so awesome! (I'm sorry this is just me geeking out at this point) I keep trying to type why they're so cool but I just keep writing “they're just so cool” over and over again.

2. Todoroki

One thing I never liked about his normal hero suit is that it's just very blank. It makes total sense with his personality and the hero suit of his father being so different, which is why it works but just looking at it gives me the desire for more!

Prediction: Sonic’s gonna roll up to Tom and Maddie at the end of the movie like “Look! I found a younger brother(Tails) and an older brother(Knuckles)!

Robotnik now has the Egg Stache, but how did he lose all that weight so fast?

Did Eggman trick Knuckles, or are they just working towards the same goal(catch Sonic) for the moment, and Knuckles is gonna turn on him the second Eggman’s no longer needed. Only to face whatever big bad robot Eggy designed because come on, this version’s prepared for just about anything.

Also, Knuckles slapping the shit out of Sonic was great. I don’t know why, but it was. He’s gonna get the shit kicked out of him in return though, I can tell.

Second ALSO, just noticed this, but when Knuckles hit’s his fists together they form the same sort of energy sparks Sonic gets while going fast only in red.

Powerpuff Girls gritty sequel, but it’s actually good

So this might be a bit late, but here’s how I would do a gritty and dark sequel to the Powerpuff Girls, but it would actually be good.

THE PLOT

Way back when they were children, the girls gave up their powers in order to trap Him, who had snapped and was trying to bring about the end of the world. The Utoniums moved away(one of the few people left in Townsville able to do so), and the girls lived normal human lives up until their thirties, when their dad has finally died. That’s when the Rowdyruffs show up, with a way to return the girls’ powers. While Bubbles and Buttercup refuse initially, Blossom jumps at the chance to become a hero again, and they are eventually forced to follow suit as old and new enemies return. However almost 20 years without powers have left them kinda rusty, and the Rowdyruffs have to train them back up if they want to beat Him again, once and for all.

CHARACTERS

Powerpuffs as a whole

All live in the same house with their late father. Still have a good relationship with each other after all these years, and even still hold weekly family game and movie nights. As this is a continuation, they would be played by white actresses, though I’d personally like Buttercup to be played by an Asian one to match Utonium(who I always saw as Asian, tbh).

Blossom

Started strong, but over time became depressed. Started college, but never finished, and currently works part time in retail. Spent the most time taking care of Utonium, and when not doing that could often be found playing video-games in her spare time. Jumps at the chance to be a hero again, though as time goes on she doesn’t find it as fulfilling as she thought she would. Her arc would deal with finding fulfillment and her place in the world, and not clinging to the past.

Bubbles

Works as a stripper, and finds it incredibly fun. She often incorporates animal motifs into her outfits, favoring squirrels and never using bunnies if she can help it. Is way too generous and forgiving, but has the worst temper out of all the girls. Her arc would be tied up in Boomer’s, and allowing herself to fall in love.

Buttercup

Owns an auto shop, and is scary good at what she does. Has a league of boys and men who work under her that see her as a scary godmother. Also has a habit of giving candy to kids whose parents come into the shop. Her arc... idk actually she’s the most well adjusted out of all the girls. Maybe she doesn’t get an arc, or it’s something about being the youngest child. Smokes weed to curb her more violent tendencies, and shares with Butch.

Bunny

Gets resurrected by Him to act as his lackey/spy on the PPG for him. Has a normal form, where she looks like a regular teenager, but when her powers activate turns into a Hulk-like brute of a monster that, while looking neater than her original form, is still monstrous and scary. Her subplot involves being incredibly unstable, and the PPG and RRB trying to figure out how to stabilize her before she explodes again.

Rowdyruffs as a whole

Stayed with Mojo Jojo in the Ruins of Townsville to keep an eye on Him’s “grave”. The time was spent training and preparing in case he ever returned. When he did, and the RRB were defeated, Jojo sent them off to restore the girls’ powers and prepare them to fight Him.

Mojo Jojo

Helped the PPG take down Him, and the stayed behind of his own free will to keep an eye on things when they left. When the Boys showed up he did his best to be a good father, and turn them to the side of good. He had mixed results, but at least they stayed with him. When Him tried to break out he made a last ditch effort to contain Him, sacrificing himself but letting the RRB flee with the girls’ powers.

Brick

A stern and powerful leader, he just barely keeps his brothers under control. Gets exasperated easily. Is insanely jealous that the girls got to have normal lives while he never got a chance at that, and thus gets pissed at Blossom for taking it for granted. Gets better later on.

Boomer

Incredibly promiscuous, which just gets worse when he gets around people. One of his first actions is to grope Bubles, and then immediately get knocked out in response(before she gets her powers back). Makes it his goal to win her heart, becoming a genuinely better person in the process.

Butch

Completely fucking wild, but surprisingly becomes normal when he smokes weed. Gets “tamed” by Buttercup, in a sense, by which I mean he realizes he’s a complete ass and tries to do better. Also loves kids, once he figures out they’re tiny chaos machines.

EXTRA DETAILS

Princess still exists, and is kinda like evil Batman. She still gets her ass beat every time, though. Also she tries to flirt with Brick to piss Blossom off, but neither of them care.

Professor Utonium might have been hiding something about the PPGs creation.

Blossom starts out being very unkempt and then gets better, and then goes right back to being unkempt again as her arc goes.

Would 100% like this to be animated, but also live action is good if needed.

He makes $3300 a week and has a job besides that? Yeah i'm gonna go out on a limb and say people do more for their followers than he at 1/20 that. That's probably why people are annoyed.

I didn’t know he had another job and if he does then he more than deserves his money since it would mean he’s working 2 jobs. I’ve been a patron for around 16 people and I can tell you right off the bat even if I payed 20 dollars a month I still wouldn’t get 10+ drawings per week. That’s more than a drawing a day and most artist can tell you how fucking hard that is. Most artist do not do that and don’t want to do that. Also I have no idea what you were trying to say with that 1/20 part, didn’t make sense to me.

Besides all of that, why are y'all acting like he’s forcing these people to give him money? People are allowed to spend their money where they want to and obviously it’s with this guy so he’s doing something right. People like you are the reason why content creators don’t make any money, cause you feel entitled and don’t think they deserve the money they get. If you think other artists deserve it more than give them your money, reblog their shit, leave comments, actually support the content creators you like, instead of whining about “why does this guy make money???”

Everyone whining about this guy hasn’t even boosted another artist they think should get an equal pay or “deserves it more”.

Kiwi (kiwibyrd) on YouTube as well, they make awesome doodles as well as finished digital paintings

Chris Hong, does great fully rendered watercolor pieces, also some wonderful portrait pieces.Sachin Teng, unfortunately I haven’t seen them online in a while but what they already have out there is worth to look atKadaBura, makes dope ass stories and character designs. They’re in the middle of writing a story right now called “The Executioners”
