My parents and sister went to the Dentist's clinic last week and the dentist asked them what their favorite style of music was to play while they had to sit there suffering with their mouths open. And I imagine myself in three situations:
1- choosing a fucking sad song that will make me cry (thinking about my favorite ship fr)
2- choosing something extremely SUS (Bernadette-)
3- Being indecisive and not deciding anything (99% FRRRRRRRRRRRR)

Omg wait.. this weekend's doctor who episode 'BOOM' was written by Steven Moffat?? YES YESS! How did i not clock that before? i am SO EXCITED!!
Moffat Doctor Who in the year of our lord 2024. Mr Fairytales himself. Mr Doctor Who should make the kids hide behind the sofa. Writing for a series with themes that are so similar to what he was doing in his time as Showrunner. Writing a seemingly a scarier tense episode, which he is good at.
My expectations are SO high Mr Moff you CANNOT be letting me down with a dud now. I will not allow it. Give us another masterpiece. Do itt

I've seen several Dr Who fans hate Twelve for what happened to Bill in World Enough And Time. And obviously you can hate characters for any reason at all (as long as you're not dicks to real people about it). But I really don't follow the logic of how it's his fault?
Like the episode itself plays with the idea of blaming the Doctor, with the hard cut between Bill entrusting her safety to him and the aftermath. But as for what actually happened: team TARDIS answered a distress call, and the Doctor stepped in as soon as things got actually dangerous. The whole episode could've just as easily happened the same way if Missy wasn't there. The way it turned out was bad luck (to put it mildly).
I just don't see how the Doctor was really at fault, and the episode might even have been a bit more interesting if he was more at fault. His companion coming to harm directly due to him trying to make the Master a better person (rather than coincidentally happening at the same time) is a really tragic idea. (That's not me saying that the series 10 finale isn't already interesting or tragic. I adore it.)

honestly if I were ever to throw the Suitehearts into any of my Killjoys stuff the dynamic would literally be the stupidest thing in the world. you do not want to have the Four and those guys together in any setting. it's a recipe for disaster. Jet and Benzedrine bitch and bicker like old ladies. telepathic warfare is waged via a complex language of glares and eyebrow movements between everyone in the room. Sandman makes a wholeheartedly joking comment to Ghoul like "I want to study you in a lab" and Kobra Kid gives him a black eye on the spot. Crab and Donnie end up playing hide n seek with the Girl until someone else who isn't aware of the game accidentally dumps a whole dude out of their hiding spot on accident and then gets elbowed for it. everyone hates each other but they're also kind of pals in the way that people who occasionally help each other out but don't see each other outside of that can be. that kind of thing

the thing about clara and 12 is that they have the most fucked up relationship in the whole show, they are like icarus and daedalus except they are both flying too close to the sun, all the time. their morals just go off the fucking rails when it comes to saving the other person and they don't even fully know why they are doing it. the chemistry between the actors is insane and some of their scenes are some of the best doctor who writing i have ever seen
also, clara is a deeply inconsistent character designed by a misogynist that is incapable of making women seem somewhat human

is it an unpopular oppie (cute way of saying opinion) to think that stories with only 1 or 2 gender customisable LIs is kind of the way to go moving forward for choices 🧍
like the main issue ppl have been having seems to be the quality of the books n their subject matter, n the quantity of LIs won't fix that? back when it WAS the norm to have 3+ LIs per book every non-whiteman LI would get sidelined and treated like shit by the plot. at least now when the plot railroads you into spending more time w one LI u can choose their gender/appearance, and it's easier to split screentime equally between 2 LIs compared to for example 4
plus limiting it to less LIs allows the story more time to flesh out characters n ur relationships w them. it's easier to incoprorate LIs into the plot n make them important + impactful when there's less of them
OBVIOUSLY none of this is ideal and their whole business model is a bit garbáge, these are simply my thoughts !

okay not enough people are talking about this. To everyone that has survived this long, either taking pills, fully healed from, or currently suffering through hyperthyroidism undiagnosed is a fucking hero.
Hyperthyroidism (and it's sister hypothyroidism, which I know less about) is fucking awful.
Your metabolism is completely thrown off. Your heart constantly races. For me, it was at a resting rate of 160 BPM at one point. When running, it was 220. That's enough to give you a heart attack.
Your balance is constantly off, you fall over and wobble nonstop. You physically cannot walk a straight line. In extreme cases, looking up can make you fall over. Yes, looking up could knock you over.
Your eyes stick out of your head uncomfortably so. The muscle behind them swells up, making them stick out. In extreme cases, people have needed to get eye patches, or, for those unlucky, the eyes do come out completely.
Your own fucking throat is attacking you. Like I said, I know less about hypothyroidism, but hyperthyroidism is what happens when your thyroid, located in the front of your neck, goes ballistic. It's incurable naturally and can only be treated with pills.
It's not "clumsiness." It's not being "sensitive." It's a fucking disease that goes after 40% of AFAB people. THAT'S A HUGE CHUNK OF PEOPLE.
My dad got it, too, so it's not just them, either.
Some people have to take pills forever. The lucky ones heal. For some, only radiation can finally kill it before it kills them.
If you're suffering from hyperthyroidism (or it's sister), I am so fucking sorry. My heart goes out to you.
Reblog to let hyperthyroid victims know you see them. You care. You want them to get better. I love each and every one of you.
I hope we will one day heal, in one way or another.
