like im thinking about how that one time it got pointed out that rose is considered “fashionable” when she literally put on a goth nightgown and tied a scarf around it. and dave is considered “messy/undignified” when hes the guy who immediately alchemized like 5 different suits and worse them all even though it was sweltering.

and then im comparing that to how rosemary are always getting portrayed as ‘refined dignified lesbian moms’ when kanaya is the awkwardest character in the whole comic, wore her pajamas to her first date; and rose got blackout drunk from nerves over that very event (and yet dave was still the one who had to tell her it was even a date). rose kissed kanaya for the first time and immediately fell down a flight of stairs.

meanwhile davekat take years to get their shit together, but once they do they HAVE it together, theyre both comfortable and sweet with each other, and dave takes the first fucking opportunity to give john a whole spiel on his thoughts about comphet and heteronormativity. for fucks sake, karkat vantas is the universe’s biggest romance buff. he’s obsessed with traditional dates and love stories. what about that screams “oh theyre the absolute opposite of rosemary, instead of being refined and dignified they fight over pizza and throw chips at each other”.

like im not saying they DONT fight over pizza! im sure they DO because they think it’s funny and they also hate each others guts! and im not saying rosemary DONT do each others makeup or outfits.

im just saying like... we should get rid of the idea that rosemary are smart or dignified and ‘know what theyre doing’. rose played pretend at therapist the same way dave played pretend at being an internet coolguy. theyre both just actually idiots irl. and if anyone is gonna give your fave the gay talk it would be one of the striders, not rose. rose will just make fun of you for your gayness without being helpful in the slightest.

I love my new phone so much but it has these lil plastic strips on the sides and corners that I really like at the start bc I thought they were seared into the metal and they look cool but lately they've started to flip up and peel and so I've been cutting off the pieces that flip up with this razor that came with one of my art sets and I always feel sort of a little guilty for running the blade over her body but i hope she knows it is not out of malice or hate. i hope she knows that i don't hold her delicate body with the intent to scratch her sides and maim the wonderful features she came with. i am doing this out of love. at any moment i could destroy her but i hope she knows i'm choosing not to. i clip her wings because i love her. i maim her body so i can appreciate her. i cut the plastic so she can serve me longer.

#random post #I don’t mean that as in ‘yea woo let’s party and get fucked up’ like no lol #I just mean. our house is a place where people get along #there’s no expectations here. wanna sit and talk? we can hang out and talk about whatever #wanna play a game? chances are a few other people do to #need to get away for a bit and maybe take a nap? we’ve got plenty of beds take your pick. we’ll make sure no one bothers you #hungry or thirsty? help yourself don’t be shy. we can always get more #like we had ppl over on Saturday and it was so FUN like ppl would talk all together and then different conversations would split off of that #we would go outside then back in. we had food and some ppl had alcohol #we were laughing SO hard about funny shit (like discovering that my sisters bf worked on the gas meter at grandpas but didn’t SAY ANYTHING #ABOUT IT LMFAO) my cousin brought his gf to meet everyone and she just fit in perfectly and so obviously had an obsession for animals #her and my sister were like sudden bffs it was hilarious. my brother and younger cousin ate at 2:40 and slept upstairs till 6:00 #and all we did was turn of the light and put on a fan for em lol. crack up at how comfortable they were #me and my lil sister were walking up and down the driveway talking and looking at the stars. the nap duo were pointing out constellations #when most everyone left it was my household and my sister and her bf. she played uno flip and incoherent with me (usually no one does lol)#and we laughed very hard at all of the adult cards. one of the hints she gave for sidechicks was ‘sad used to have a lot of these’ and #I immediately got it. it was fun. we blasted music from the 2000’s and ate bread #I slept for 11 hours that night lmao and I was tired the next day but I wouldn’t have changed it. I like them lots #it’s days like that that make me think I’m more extroverted than introverted. just because I don’t always know what to say doesn’t mean #I don’t like to talk yn? anyways I’m writing a novel in the tags but I don’t care <3 I just love us and I wish #other people were able to have love and fun times often #I hope this doesn’t sound like me bragging about my home life. trust me I know it’s not some shining light in the darkness or whatever #but it’s something. and I don’t mind sharing my love with other people

my 25th anniversary Ver.3 Colour v-pet arrived today! ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ

I'm very tempted to open it up now and bring my beloved Turbo back from the grave after his circuits finally conked out in 2021, but with work getting really busy really soon, I'm going to have to resist the idea and come back to that in a few months when peak season settles down :'D

at least now we can finally get him to the Ultimate stage he was never able to reach! I started raising him in middle school around 2009 in a rural country town, so by that point there was absolutely no-one in a million mile radius to battle with, so he was forever an Ogremon or a Unimon lol

#haulaupost #I do love purple and orange but man do I wish it was just a direct palette-flip of the original #the green isn't the best-looking imo... would have preferred it with just two colours instead of three #there'll probably be shell mods on etsy soon enough no doubt lol #but #my baby!#he was an original v3 and lasted 24 years from 1997... they really made em to last!#at least nowadays I'll be able to set him to sleep mode when I'm at work or otherwise preoccupied #I still have fond memories of the time I forgot to feed him before an exam and he died right in the middle of it when it was dead silent #futilely clutching my chest trying to bury him further in my scarf and jumper to muffle it lmao #lots of good memories with this guy
