Head Girl studying some kind of magical artifact at Hogwarts & chilling back home on the south-west coast of Ireland.

so the other day i was playing Animal Crossing wondering how i could best do a traditional Western Irish outfit for my OC and fell down a rabbit hole of historical fashion on youtube and ended up thinking "Wait i could just draw her instead of trying to clumsily recreate this in ACNH 🤔" SO I DID. (kudos to me for drawing instead of playing)(and kudos to fashion history nerds on youtube i love you 🙏🏻)

AND I'M SO HAPPY I DID. i'm in love with my drawing. i created her in like 2002 or something and it's the first time ever i'm happy with how her face turned out 🥹

drawn after Bouguereau's magnificent work. sketched on paper, corrected a bit + painted on computer.

as for her outfit, i took inspiration in several sources. i think i read/heard somewhere red skirts would traditionally be for married women, but it's such a pretty colour i put it on her shawl. also i did not go as far as to draw patterns on her clothes because it's waaay out of my league haha.

So anyways guess who just came back from an *checks watch* 8 hour hike

#On my old blog I once mentioned hiking with my father and how long it always takes #And how much I hated it as a kid #They thought I was exaggerating the numbers #I was not #We set out at 10:30 and now it's 7 #But to be fair we ate dinner at a restaurant #And the owner drove us back the last ~10 km #When we sat out a taxi driver pulled over asked where we are going and then proceeded to telk us we shouldn't walk that #Because it's 15 km to the tourist trap he thought we were going to #But we went 2km further and then up a mountain #Got amazing pictures out of it #But climbing the mountain took an hour. Getting down took longer #Now imagine I wasn't 20 but 7 (the age I was when I first took this route with my father)#I know this is oversharing but I exhausted and proud of myself and fucking sweaty #Can't believe we did this every second day #Luckily my father's knees are awful now so he can't do it every second day either

okay but I am genuinely so unwell about numbers and dates and ages and time and years etc. so I'm blaming all my bad luck on the number 23

#got so paranoid about it that i didn't talk to anyone for the last few weeks and i haven't applied for a job and i'm honestly not doing #anything until i'm safely 24 #idk what 24's gonna be like but it's got a 4 in it so that's a good sign #but then again 14 had a 4 in it and that was a terrible age #but tbf it was a 4 + a 10 which is like. my fav number and my least fav number. so the year just malfunctioned #first 6 months good second 6 months bad #so 24 can fit two 10s but they're not as obvious. but it's a multiple of 4 so i trust it a bit more #4 x 6. idk my feelings on 6 but it's never really done anything too bad to me so yeah. 24 is the safe zone #i blame everything on the number 23 and also my friend's awful ex girlfriend #OKAY SO LIKE i was reading coronation street youtube comments the other day #and people were talking about how characters like terry duckworth and mike baldwin were kind of prats before but then they #had some significantly bad experience and after that they became Absolute prats #like basically what caused their villain origin stories #and i was like oh my god am i gonna turn out like them?? is my friend's ex girlfriend responsible for my villain arc??#and i have felt myself becoming more negative and unhappy and cynical and bitter over the past few months #and i was like fuckkkkkk no i can't enter my mike baldwin terry duckworth era #bc before whenever a remotely bad thing happened i would just disappear and go back to telling myself there is nothing good with the world #so like for every job i never got and for every time i put something in the group chat and no one replied and every time i made something #and no one cared about it i would just sink deeper into some hole of hatred at the world #i mean. the rsd. like I'd still react to stuff in that way when i was younger and happier but at least back then I'd also #wave at cool clouds and smile at people in public and be like ''fuck i woke up too early and now i Have to take a photo of the sunrise''#but now i don't do any of that I'm just some bitter cynical bitch who hates everything #so yeah. my 2024 resolution was to reclaim the whimsy i lost at the end of 2022. and so far it's not really going well but at least I'm not #23 anymore #ramble

Sometimes I remember the fact that one time during camp me & four other girls got sent to live in a cabin meant for 25+ people by ourselves and during the three weeks we spent there had the biggest amounts of horror experiences I've ever experienced in a single camp trip and I just think to myself, what the fuck

#oh also there was a creepy sixth girl who wasn't from the camp but just. occasionally stayed in our room #we had a counselor living with us because you can't let 5 (6?) 10-11 year olds live by themselves & it did little to stop the shenanigans #mostly because it's much less stressful for her to be dealing with 5 (6?) kids than managing a whole ass 25 of them so she was more lax #I think what led to it is that the cabin was VERY isolated‚ the windows we had only opening to this forest of pine trees #so you had this creepy ass atmosphere + the solitude + the lack of internet access + the fact that all of us where into creepy stuff #but like. Either all of us had collective phycosis or there really WAS something up with the cabin because unexplained things did happen #istg I have been there four times and every single one the amount of shenanigans happening was obnoxious #first time we had a mixed age group so there was like a five year difference between the oldest and youngest in the group #second time was this creepy shit‚ third time I managed to accidentally aquire a harem of 5 dudes at age 12‚ and fourth was my gay awakening #I've got more core memories related to that camp than to my last school lmao

I just remembered, that shortly after watching the Mario movie a few days after its theatrical release, I tried so hard to not think about it, but tiktok kept pushing Bowuigi content my direction as it did in the few weeks before the movie's release, and I would think, yeah its definitely up my alley, and it works but I'm not a mario franchise fan, the sonic franchise has my heart.... well apparently the mario brand decided if my heart was taken then they'd go after my head because Bowuigi literally started infesting my dreams and now I'm in a hole so deep I'm really not even looking for an escape, I'm embracing it

(Sorry for the tag rant, this is really turning into a personal post in the tags)

#told my boyfriend i might become a mario fan out of spite due to our roommates saying my opinion doesnt matter on the movie #because i saw sonic 2 at least 10 times in theaters #and seeing Mario in theaters 2 times doesnt mean its a good movie- and their other friend said its mid so they arent watching it #well jokes on them- mario is the top grossing film of this year so far #and they were always talking about how great the second avatar movie was when it came out #and decided to be petty and not watch puss in boots the last wish because we said that it was in our opinion a better film #but they can't say anything about the fact that Mario is on the way to beating out Avatar 2 in the box office profits #i sometimes just wanna punch a bitch in the face #(idk maybe its also because i have a little bit of a superiority complex over them because they're my boyfriend's ex girlfriend)
