HEXENHAMMER
hexenhammer is a real witchcraft treatise written in 1486. it’s original title is “malleus maleficarum”, which roughly translates into “hammer of witches”.

Hexenhammer elevates sorcery to the criminal status of heresy and recommends that secular courts prosecute it as such. It further suggests torture to effectively obtain confessions and the death penalty as the only certain remedy against the evils of witchcraft. At the time of it’s publication, heretics were frequently punished to be burned alive at the stake, and Hexenhammer encouraged the same treatment for witches. The book has had a strong influence on culture for many centuries.
Jacob Sprenger’s name was added as an author beginning in 1519, thirty-three years after the book’s first publication and twenty-four years after Sprenger’s death, but the veracity of this later addition has been questioned by many historians for various reasons. Kramer wrote Hexenhammer following his expulsion from Innsbruck by the local bishop, due to charges of illegal behavior against Kramer himself, and because of his obsession with the sexual habits of one of the accused, Helena Scheuberin, which led to the tribunal members to suspend the trial.
The book was later used by royal courts during the renaissance, and contributed to the increasingly brutal prosecutions during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

Justification: In this part, it is briefly explained that prevalence of sorcery is a method of Satan’s final assault and motivated the authors to write Hexenhammer.
“Lucifer attacks through these heresies at that time in particular, when the evening of the world declines towards its setting and the evil of men swells up, since he knows in great anger, as John bares witness in the Book of Apocalypse, that he has little time remaining. Hence, he has also caused a certain unusual heretical perversity to grow up in the land of the Lord- a heresy, I say, of sorceresses, since it is to be designated by the particular sex over which he is known to have power [women].”
Papal Bull: Copies of Hexenhammer contain a reproduction of a papal bull known as Summis Desiderantes Affectibus that is addressed to Heinrich Institoris and Jacob Sprenger. According to it, Pope Innocent VIII acknowledges that sorceresses are real and harmful through their involvement in the acts of Satan.
According to the date on the document, the papal bull had been issued in 1484, two years before Hexenhammer was finished. Therefore, it is not an endorsement of a specific final text of Hexenhammer. Instead, its inclusion implicitly legitimizes the handbook by providing general confirmation of the reality of witchcraft and full authority to Sprenger and Institoris in their teachings and proceedings.
Approbation: This part of Hexenhammer is titled “The Approbation of the Following Treatise and the Signatures Thereunto of the Doctors of the Illustrious University of Cologne Follows in the Form of a Public Document” and contains the unanimous approval of Hexenhammer by all the doctors of the theological faculty of the University of Cologne with inclusion of confirmatory testimony by present witnesses.
Text of approbation mentions that during proceedings Institoris had a letter from the newly crowned king of the Romans, Maximillian, which is summarized in the approbation: “[Maximillion I] takes these inquisitors under his complete protection, ordering and commanding each and every subject of the Roman Empire to render all favor and assistance to these inquisitors and otherwise to act in the manner that is more fully contained and included in the letter.”
The approbation consists of a preamble and is followed by a resolution in two parts, which I will not be listing here due to length and general irrelevance.
Main Text: Hexenhammer asserts that three elements are necessary for witchcraft: the evil intentions of the witch, the help of the devil, and the permission of God. The treatise is divided into three sections. the first section is aimed at clergy and tries to refute critics who deny the reality of witchcraft, thereby hindering its prosecution.
The second section describes the actual forms of witchcraft and its remedies. The third section is to assist judges confronting and combating witchcraft, and to aid the inquisitors by removing the burden from them.
According to Kramer, this concept of sorcery is characterized by the conviction that those guilty engage in six activities:
A pact entered into the devil (and concomitant apostasy from Christianity).
Sexual relations with the devil.
Aerial flight, usually for the purpose of attending:
An assembly presided over by Satan himself (at which initiates entered into the pact, and incest and promiscuous sex were engaged in by the attendees).
The practice of maleficent magic.
The slaughter of babies.
BACK TO YUPPIE PSYCHO: WAS SINTRA RIGHT?
In Yuppie Psycho, Sintra lists a few things Hexenhammer supposedly says, but some of what she says is only half-true, or do not appear in Hexenhammer at all.
1. Witches can only be female.
Though the book uses both “succubi” and “incubi” to refer to witches, it is explicitly stated that only women are capable of becoming witches. I am certain this is rooted in misogyny, but it’s what the book says.
2. Witches ride on broomsticks.
This claim is true, but is lacking in a few details: witches specifically use broomsticks that they have anointed to the limbs of children they have killed. It is also mentioned that witches can use chairs (also anointed to the limbs of dead children) instead of broomsticks. This was probably removed due to how graphic it is, and because our witch in-game is child-like.
3. In order to become a witch, a woman must drink the devil’s blood.
Hexenhammer never mentions the drinking of the devil’s blood; it does state that the devil “loves blood and the pouring of blood”. The usage of blood is required for certain spells and rituals but typically comes from babies or some animal. This may be a reference to the Devil’s Blood cocktail.
4. Witches can only be killed by fire or the Athame Dagger.
Once again, this is true, but Kramer believes witches can also be killed by drowning. Drowning and burning were common witch execution methods.
5. Witches often make their lairs in places that have a deep connection to their lives.
6. Witches have familiars.
This is not stated by Sintra, but is present in-game. The book describes witches turning men into crows, but does not mention familiars. This was most likely incorporated from popular media, which stems from Pierre Riffard’s ideals and books on familiar spirits.
let it be said that this is not a criticism against the creators of yuppie psycho, and rather me pointing out the differences for fun. i consider the real hexenhammer and the in-game hexenhammer to be two different books, and therefore, i believe they have different information in them. in the yuppie psycho universe, what sintra says is more accurate than the information in the real life book!
while i have seen images of the yuppie handbook circulating online, i am withholding from posting a timeline of the character’s birthdays until i get my own copy. ^^

Womit soll man anfangen?
Mit einer EU-Kommissionspräsidentin, bei der sich gerade zwei Staatsanwaltschaften streiten, wer zuständig ist, vielleicht auch, um Zeit zu gewinnen, bevor wegen Korruption ermittelt wird. Mit dem Kalkül, dass die EU-Wahlen dann vielleicht schon vorbei sind, obwohl die jetzige Präsidentin gar nicht mehr zur Wahl steht, dann aber wieder das mächtigste Amt der EU bekleidet? Oder mit ihren Avancen an die italienischen Neofaschisten, wieder ins Amt zu kommen?
Oder mit der Eskalationsspirale des Krieges um die Ukraine, um die es längst nicht mehr geht, weil sie in Trümmern liegt? Aber vielleicht lässt sich aus diesem Debakel ja doch noch etwas herausholen. Im Moment wird es mit ukrainischen Menschenleben bezahlt. Vielleicht gibt es doch noch eine Steigerung? Die europäischen Schafsköpfe sind zu allem bereit, während die transatlantischen Adler das Geld zählen.
Oder mit den Apologeten einer Demokratie, die sie längst zu Tode geritten haben, und einer Vielfalt, die gleichförmiger nicht sein könnte? Wer da ausschert und auch nur eine Nuance anders zu denken wagt, fällt dem Hexenhammer zum Opfer.
Oder mit den Schaukel-Boches, Karussell-Schreiern und vereinigten Sumpf-Experten, die im längst gekaperten öffentlich-rechtlichen Spektakel ihre Unanständigkeiten ins verunsicherte Volk brüllen?
Oder mit den völkischen Hirntoten, die mit Begriffen um sich werfen, die sie selbst nicht verstanden haben?
Oder mit Fußballvereinen, die sich ungeniert von den Produzenten der Mordwerkzeuge in aller Öffentlichkeit von hinten penetrieren lassen?
Nein, es nimmt kein Ende.
Und es hat eine Eigendynamik entwickelt, die, wenn man sich analoge Situationen in der Vergangenheit anschaut, irgendwann das kollektive Bedürfnis hervorruft, dass alle wollen, dass es aufhört! Egal wie!

TWST FANS I FOUND OUT SMTH TODAY BY ACCIDENT!!!
My mother had mentioned to me that she watched a documentary and a certain book was a very important point of it. In German, it is called "Hexenhammer" (engl.: "Hammer of Witches") by Heinrich Kramer, and well, basically promotes the hunting of witches.
But HERE it gets interesting! It's Latin/original name is Malleus Maleficarum.
So when I found that out, my brain did a double *click* sound, because I was guessing Disney took both Malleus' and Maleficents' name from this Latin title.
And yeah, I am aware the "Maleficent" means something on its own, but I still noticed.
Could be a coincidence tho...

warum ist deutschland (und europa) (und amerika) (schon wieder) (beziehungsweise immernoch) pur und grundsätzlich rassistisch, faschistisch, menschenverachtend und nationalsozialistisch?
erstmal vorweg: ich weiss es nicht. es ist halt so. dennoch: grund genug um sich ein paar gedanken zu machen. die geschichte der deutschen und der menschheit gibt uns da zumindest ein paar ansätze.
als in deutschland lebender mensch ist diese frage eigentlich ganz leicht zu beantworten: die deutschen gene sind schuld. äääääh, sorry, nein, ich meinte natürlich: die kultur! die deutsche kultur ist schuld.
deutsche haben rassismus und faschismus erfunden. sie haben es sich in ihre seele gebrannt. kollektiv. der deutsche ist rassist. nationalsozialist. und faschist. das war er ja schon immer. seit tag eins, an dem die christlichen invasoren damals die germanischen barbarenstämme abgeschlachtet, ihre frauen und kinder vergewaltigt und dem rest der überlebenden und aufgebenden germanier ihre menschenfeindliche religion und ideologie aufgezwungen haben.
dann kamen noch so andere menschenfeindliche errungenschaften deutschlands, wie zum beispiel "der hexenhammer", der sich in ganz europa verbreitete und dafür sorgte, dass überall massen von frauen unter deutscher anleitung abgeschlachtet worden sind. und dann natürlich der erste weltkrieg, gestartet von deutschland.
und dann kam halt schon relativ schnell hitler. und hitler tötete millionen von menschen gemeinsam mit dem rest der deutschen. und die deutschen starteten einen WEITEREN weltkrieg. womit zwei von zwei weltkriegen schonmal offiziell auf deutsche kappe gingen.
als kind fragte ich mich damals oft: wie konnte das eigentlich dazu kommen? wie konnte es passieren? das ein ganzes land, geschlossen, als kollektiv, menschehass auf ein neues level gehoben hat und das ALLE menschen in diesem land, ausnahmslos, zu menschenfeinden wurden? zu invasoren. zu sklavenhaltern und faschisten. wie konnte das passieren? konnte es wirklich sein, dass die deutschen solche monster gewesen sind?
sind die deutschen, die amerikaner, die europäer von grundauf böse? hatte jean jaques roussau recht? zumindest im bezug auf die deutschen, europäer und amerikaner?
heute weiss ich: die antwort ist ganz einfach. "ja". jeder einzelne deutscher hat dringesteckt. und er steckt bis heute drin. und er kommt da auch nie wieder raus.
nach hitler kam die DDR und das war dann wahrscheinlich der endgültige dolchstoß für jegliches deutsches, auch nur im ansatz rationales denken. seit der ddr haben die deutschen rechtsradikalen und faschisten nämlich eine möglichkeit gefunden, mit dem finger nach links zu zeigen und zu sagen: "ach guckt mal, DA sind die RICHTIGEN faschisten". bis heute machen sie es so, wie man am thema "linksextremismus" und "islamismus" sieht.
sie brauchen einen schuldigen, um sich selbst nicht mehr so schuldig zu fühlen und weiter menschen versklaven und missbrauchen zu können.
die hochgradig nationalsozialistische, faschistische, menschenfeindliche, deutsche polizei sorgt gemeinsam mit ebenso menschenhassenden deutschen medien und politikern bis heute höchstpersönlich dafür, dass wir unsere augen von rechtsradikalen terroristen und faschisten abwenden, die mit abstand die größte gefahr für deutschland auf jeglichen ebenen darstellt, im gegensatz zu linksextremismus und islamismus. die polizisten schützen deutsche nationalsozialisten so und auf andere arten und weisen extrem gut.
wie gesagt. es liegt an den genen. äääähhh, an der kultur. natürlich. mist. wieso verwechsel ich das immer..?
deutschland ist ein nationalsozialistisches, christlich-fundamentalistisches, terroristisches, autoritäres, patriarchalisches, faschistisches, menschenverachtendes, rassistisches land.
genau so wie der rest europas und amerika.
sie sind menschenfeinde. und jeder auf der welt weiss es. sogar sie selbst. und deshalb reagieren sie reflexhaft NOCH MENSCHENFEINDLICHER, als jemals zuvor..
sie sind die biologischen und auch kulturellen nachkommen und nachfahren adolf hitlers. sie werden sich nie ändern. sie werden immer so sein.
menschenfeinde.
die geschichte hat sich nicht wiederholt.
sie hat nie aufgehört.
sie haben immer weitergemacht.
und sind jetzt auf einem neuen, noch nie dagewesenem level.
wir werden niemals dazugehören.
das ist nicht mal meine "meinung". das ist ein fakt. die deutschen beweisen es uns. mittlerweile täglich. es ist ein historischer fakt der gerade, schon wieder, in die geschichtsbücher eingehen wird.
das war auch noch längst nicht der höhepunkt.
ihr werdet immer und immer wieder massen von menschen abschlachten, frauen vergewaltigen, kinder töten und genozide begehen. ihr habt es erfunden. ihr habt damit weitergemacht, ihr habt niemals damit aufgehört.
jetzt heisst es für mich: intifada. djihad. widerstand und geistiger krieg. nicht das, was ihr deutschen, weißen christen aus diesen begriffen mit eurer propaganda gemacht habt. sondern das, was diese worte wirklich bedeuten. WIDERSTAND. und: GEISTIGER KRIEG.
ich werde weiter schreiben, weiter bilder malen, weiter ukulele spielen, weiter bücher lesen und bald werde ich wieder demonstrationen besuchen. das ist djihad. das ist intifada. auf friedlicher ebene. weil das nämlich auch geht.
wie gesagt: der deutsche ist ein rassist, ein faschist, ein terrorist, ein vergewaltiger, ein pädophiler, ein feind. immer. sie wollen unsere kinder töten. oder versklaven. sie machen es seit jahrhunderten.
wir sind tiere für sie und wir werden es immer bleiben.
