Mike in s4 felt like an episode character except he didn't have any gems to choose the good options so he had to pick all the shitty ones

Things I absolutely need to see in season 2 of Roswell NM aka; my Alex Manes wishlist

Okay so I get that Alex isn't a central main character but I still feel like we were robbed of a lot of his backstory - particularly of the last 10 years. In my biased opinion, he's probably the most interesting character just in terms of him being so complex and the most relatable character on a human level that so many of us were immediately drawn to. When we look at all the characters, we're given an idea and some background into their last decade spent away from or in Roswell and while we're obviously aware that Alex was at war and has spent the last decade in the airforce, I still feel like we need more because while other characters (Liz and Kyle) might've been away too, Alex's last decade was very different to anything either of them or any of the other characters could have experienced and his last decade without a doubt changed him more so than any of the other characters time away could have changed them. I mean the guy spent a whole decade of his formative years in the military - something which he clearly did not want- but I want to see everything. I want to see what changed him other than the tool shed, I want to see how and why more pieces of that vibrant teenager were torn away from him, I want to see him having risen up to the trials he inevitably faced. I want to see what makes him the current Alex Manes that we love. With all of that said, just a few other things I need to see or hear about in s2:

Alex's injury. I wanna know how Alex got his injury (is a flashback asking for too much even though it will be painful as hell to watch). I wanna see/ hear some background of Alex after his injury, waking up in hospital, his PT, and yes his previous/ current PTSD that he seems to be keeping well hidden.

I wanna see more badass Alex Manes dropping mfs and taking no bullshit. We got to see a bit of this in ep12 but I really wanna see other characters getting to see Alex being a badass. I want his friends and Michael to see that the emo punk kid who had a chip on his shoulder is now this badass who can absolutely drop you. I also want them to see him being the swift hacker genius that he is and solving problems and hacking databases and breaking firewalls that are impossible. And I want to see him being a captain of the airforce. The respect that he gets from subordinates and how important he is.

I really want to see some or even one of Alex's military buddies- someone he served with and was close to. You can't convince me that in 10 years he didn't get close to anyone at all. And yes, that includes a possible ex lover of his making a return to Roswell. I'd just really like to see how he interacts with them as opposed to how he is with the gang. I feel like he'd be a lot more open with one of his military buddies or exes. I mean I really just want Alex to have someone who knows him and his story and his past and what he's been through so that he can have someone who is just there for him and him alone ( I know he has Kyle but that's different). I want to see him having this connection to a person who has experienced the same things he has, someone who was there with him when he was at his worst.

His family. Alex grew up with 3 older brothers who I presume were also bullied by Jesse. I know Carina said we'd meet another Manes brother and even though the chances are that he's most likely evil, I am holding out hope that there is at least one Manes brother who is not an absolute dick and who actually cares about Alex. I wanna see him and Alex, and them bonding and I'm also kinda keen to see Michael meeting him and how he'd react around them.

Alex's native heritage and his mom. I'm so curious to meet his mother and to see her relationship with him and with Jesse specifically. I really want to see how she fits into the alien business and her feelings on all of it.

A lot of this is probably very unrealistic bc it's just a 13 episode arc and this isn't even the main storyline or character but let me and my wishful thinking live in peace bc I just really miss Alex Manes okay

Someone brought this gem onto my TL again and my latest wish is to see Alex like this. In glasses. Comfortable. Casual. Just having a good time with friends. Kinda really wanna see him wearing sweatpants and these glasses while doing research in his cabin and drinking some coffee and everyone is so shook bc they're so used to seeing him dressed prim and proper

Ooh gotta add in seeing Alex in his dress blues. IT'S WHAT WE DESERVE YOU COWARDS (@ Roswell writers). Like I have no idea how it works and when they wear their official dress blues exactly but like let there be a ceremony or something and he pulls up in his dress blues and the rest of the characters (yes Michael bby, I'm looking at you) are speechless. Enter Rosa saying "Damn Manes, you didn't have to go so hard". And yes I want his dress blues to showcase all his medals and badges and what not and everyone needs to see that our boi is a BAMF who looks damn good in uniform
