Paul Lukas has the dubious distinction of being one of those Oscar anomalies, a longtime supporting player who suddenly gets thrust into a leading role that wins him the award for best actor. His competition included Gary Cooper in For Whom the Bell Tolls (Sam Wood), Walter Pidgeon in Madame Curie (Mervyn LeRoy), and Mickey Rooney in The Human Comedy (Clarence Brown). Oh, and Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca (Michael Curtiz), the one performance that everyone remembers. Lukas had plenty of opportunities to attract attention before: He had begun acting in movies in his native Hungary in 1915, and after coming to Hollywood had appeared in numerous films, playing Professor Bhaer opposite Katharine Hepburn in Little Women (George Cukor, 1933) and the sinister Dr. Hartz in The Lady Vanishes (Alfred Hitchcock, 1938), for example. He had played the role of Kurt Muller, the coordinator of resistance movements against the Nazis, in the original Broadway production of Watch on the Rhine in 1941, so he was a natural choice for the film version, though he landed the role only after the actor producer Hal Wallis wanted, Charles Boyer, was unavailable. As often happens, the Oscar was no step toward better roles in movies, and Lukas spent much of his later career on stage, though he continued to appear on film and TV up till his death in 1971. The play was written by Lillian Hellman, whose lover, Dashiell Hammett, did the screenplay with some input from her. Unfortunately, the result is less a movie than a sermon about doing one's patriotic duty in the struggle against fascism. It didn't help that Wallis hired the play's director, Herman Shumlin, for the film: Shumlin had never directed a movie and had to be assisted throughout by cinematographer Hal Mohr. He was also unable to rein in Bette Davis, who is miscast as the noble and dutiful wife and has a tendency to slip into some of her familiar and caricaturable mannerisms in the film.

All-American Co-Ed is a 1941 American musical film produced and directed by Leroy Prinz as a Hal Roach Streamliner for release by United Artists. It stars Frances Langford, Johnny Downs, Marjorie Woodworth, Noah Beery Jr., Esther Dale, Harry Langdon, and The Tanner Sisters. Quinceton College Zeta fraternity stages a revue with members in drag. The resulting publicity catches the attention of newspaperman Hap Holden (Harry Langdon) and Virginia Collinge (Frances Langford). They convince Virginia's aunt Matilda Collinge (Esther Dale), president of failing Mar Brynn (a woman's horticultural college), to refute the school's staid image by sponsoring a contest awarding a dozen free scholarships aimed at "unusual girls", winners of pageants for fruits, vegetables and flowers, as women most likely to succeed and to be showcased in a musical presentation during the Fall Festival. To publicize the contest, President Collinge pokes fun at Zeta members as being least likely to succeed and bans them from their campus. For revenge the Zeta chapter president Bob Sheppard (Johnny Downs) is coerced to infiltrate Mar Brynn by entering the contest as "Bobbie DeWolfe, Queen of the Flowers". After falling in love with Virginia, Bob comes clean and assists in staging the show, but includes in the finale a Busby Berkeley-style spelling out of "Zeta" as revenge for the ban. Awan kelabu masih menghinggapi Man United saat bertamu ke markas Bayern dalam laga perdana Grup A Liga Champions 2023/24. Bermain di Allianz Arena, Kamis (21/9/2023) dini hari WIB, Setan Merah takluk dengan skor 4-3.
The Bavarians mengunci kemenangan lewat gol-gol yang dicetak oleh Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry, Mathys Tel, serta eksekusi penalti Harry Kane. Sedangkan, Man United hanya mampu membalas lewat Rasmus Hojlund dan brace dari Casemiro.
Atas hasil tersebut, Setan Merah kalah untuk keempat kalinya dari enam pertandingan musim ini dari Bayern Munchen di laga pembuka fase grup Liga Champions, kebobolan empat gol di kompetisi ini untuk pertama kalinya sejak dihajar 4-0 oleh Barcelona pada tahun 1994.
Gol Pertama Merusak Segalanya
Diakui bahwa kesalahan dari Andre Onana dalam mengantisipasi sepakan Leroy Sane sehingga terjadi gol pembuka, membuat mental para penggawa Man United runtuh di babak pertama.
Ten Hag juga merasa sangat marah dengan serangan yang terjadi sebelum gol pembuka dari Sane di menit ke-28 dan juga gol dari Serge Gnabry empat menit setelahnya.

Perbaiki Hal Ini
Man United tidak diperkuat lima pemain bertahan di Allianz Arena dan mereka telah kemasukan 14 gol dalam enam pertandingan musim ini.
Raphael Varane dapat kembali untuk pertandingan Premier League di Burnley pada Sabtu malam, tetapi Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia dan Aaron Wan-Bissaka semuanya harus absen dalam waktu jangka panjang dan belum jelas berapa lama Harry Maguire akan absen.

Awalnya Sadio Mane dan Leroy Sane beradu argumen di lapangan, tentang permainan. Ternyata hal itu berlanjut hingga ruang ganti, keduanya sampai berantem. Sadio Mane dikabarkan sempat memukul wajah & bagian bibir Sane. Keduanya akhirnya dipisahkan oleh rekan setim.

Former CLICO Chairman Leroy Coleridge Parris has to face a judge and jury for his alleged theft of more than $3 million from the insurance company and other related charges. On Thursday, Magistrate Manila Renee committed the 77-year-old of Dayrells Heights, St Michael to stand trial before the High Court, despite legal arguments by his attorneys Hal Gollop KC and Neil Marshall. Parris is accused of stealing $3.33 million belonging to CLICO International Life Insurance Limited, between December 1, 2008, and April 27, 2009. He is further charged with conspiring with other persons to defraud CLICO International Life Insurance Limited of the same amount by inducing the insurance company to pay out the money to Thompson and Associates. The former insurance executive is also charged that between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2010, he conspired with others to cheat the Crown and the Commissioner of Inland Revenue of public revenue by failing to submit tax returns to the Commissioner or account to the said Commissioner for taxes on his income for the year ending March 31, 2010. It is also alleged that between December 1, 2008, and April 27, 2009, he engaged in money laundering in that he concealed $3.33 million, the proceeds of crime. The charges are indictable. Assistant Superintendent of Police Trevor Blackman was the prosecutor in the case. When the charges were put to Parris during the committal process, he replied: “I maintain my innocence of all charges.” He has been on $1.5 million bail since his first appearance before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court in June 2020. He reports to the Glebe Police Station every Friday before 6 p.m. Parris will make his next court appearance before Magistrate Renee on Monday when the committal process is to be finalised.
