a/n. happy birthday my favourite boy. inumaki's my first fav from jjk even before i got deep into this so he holds a special place in my heart

you had been away overseas for work for what felt like an eternity, and inumaki hadn’t been able to hide his lowkey yearning for your return. it had been two long months, and his birthday was just around the corner. little did he know that gojo was behind a plan to surprise him, with you as the ultimate gift.

as inumaki’s birthday approached, you and gojo plotted in secret, arranging everything meticulously. when the day finally came, you were hidden away in the cozy little apartment you shared with inumaki. the excitement bubbled within you, knowing that your surprise was about to unfold.

the apartment was dimly lit, with a delicious cake resting on the table. inumaki’s eyes sparkled with anticipation as he prepared to blow out the candles. gojo, ever the instigator, leaned in and asked with a mischievous glint in his eye, “inumaki, what did you wish for?”

inumaki sighed, a tinge of sadness in his voice, and he closed his eyes to make a silent wish. but as he blew out the candles, he felt someone’s hands over his eyes, and he thought they were gojo’s hands.

he shook his head dejectedly, not expecting his wish to come true anytime soon.

then, the hands over inumaki’s eyes were suddenly removed, and he blinked in confusion. in front of him stood not only gojo but also panda and maki, all of them grinning as if they were in on a secret. but there was more. inumaki felt hands on his shoulders, and his heart raced. there should only be three people in the room, right? the three people were standing before him, so who…?

gojo and panda smiled knowingly, with a phone in gojo’s hand, and maki smiled too. inumaki’s confusion turned to curiosity.

then, in a soft whisper, you spoke into inumaki’s ear, “boo.”

inumaki whipped his head back so quickly it was a wonder it didn’t spin off. his eyes widened, disbelief and joy washing over his face in equal measure. there you were, standing before him, your smile radiant, and your eyes filled with warmth and love.

inumaki couldn’t contain himself any longer. he pulled you into a tight, almost crushing embrace. the world faded away, and for a moment, there was only the two of you. he carried you and spun you around, laughing like a child, his happiness radiating from him.

as he finally put you down, inumaki held you so tightly it was as if he never wanted to let go. his eyes shone with the light that had returned, and a tear of pure happiness escaped, glistening in the soft light of the room. he couldn’t speak, but he didn’t need to. his actions and the depth of his emotions said it all. you had given him the greatest birthday gift of all, and he was completely smitten, unable to contain his overflowing love for you.

“oh, there, there,” you whispered, gently running your fingers through his hair, savoring the feeling of his warmth and the silky texture of his hair. “i’m back.”

inumaki, with tearful eyes of happiness, looked into your eyes, his smile brighter than ever. his voice quivered as he whispered softly, “konbu konbu,” a phrase you understood as a tearful “welcome back!”

in that moment, the world outside ceased to exist. it was just you and inumaki, wrapped in each other’s arms, a beautiful reunion that neither of you would ever forget.

yuuta is the type to want to do something romantic for toge’s birthday like plan an elaborate surprise party you’d see on t.v. but he absolutely refuses to let toge think for even a moment that anyone forgot or sees it as less special than it is.

toge who never celebrated his birthday before coming to school, who they had to ask gojo to pull his student records up to know exactly when it was. who spent his entire life believing his birth was a curse and that he should be grateful to even be allowed to exist.

yuuta even refuses to hide it with a smaller celebration cover-up, because he needs him to know exactly how much the day means to him.

someday he might plan an actual surprise, when the number of birthdays they’ve spent together overpowers the memory of the birthdays he’s spent alone. when he’ll be the one to remind yuuta instead of vice versa, when he looks to the day with happiness instead of dread.

until then, yuuta stays awake just to be the first to say happy birthday at exactly 12 in the morning. he brings him his favorite food, takes him to cafes and every place he never thought he’d have the luxury to see. he fumbles his way to make a slightly sad cake, and ends up buying one as a back-up, but toge refuses anything but his sad cake because it’s yuuta.

the only exception was shibuya.

the days that followed that birthday, with yuuta hundreds of miles away and a heaviness in his heart, was one that was intimately familiar to toge. alone, in pain, not knowing if his loved ones were alive or dead. not knowing if he was alive or dead.

he didn’t even cry until they were all together again, and even then it was in relief that they were still breathing, and grief that he couldn’t protect them.

after everything, the fights and despair and moments that they weren’t sure they’d survive, yuuta made him another cake.

he hadn’t improved very much, and honestly his decorating skills left a lot to be desired, but it was yuuta.

toge savored every moment of it.

first of all, inumaki’s a precious beanie, do not let his lack of vocabulary faze you in any way, because this guy's a master at expressing love through actions

when both of them first met, she'd joined tokyo jujutsu high along with yuuta okkotsu, capturing maki, inumaki's and panda's attention

panda being extroverted of the three introduces yuuta and her to maki and inumaki, and she was especially curious about inumaki whenever he'd mentioned words like “shake,” “sujiko,” “okaka,” and so on

that's when panda tells them that the inumaki clan possesses the cursed speech technique, where whatever he speaks has a major impact, not only on the enemy but on himself, depending on the severity of the cursed technique. hence, he speaks only using the ingredients of the onigiri rice ball.

also, just because he couldn't speak, that doesn't extend to his writing, he also can write letters when necessary.

initially, it was a bit difficult to understand his vocabulary, but with certain signs, she learned to be able to communicate with him.

over time, they bonded really well, enjoying their alone time whenever possible. an ideal hangout for him would be picnics in a flower park.

whenever (y/n) felt upset, or low on herself, inumaki would rub her back, calming her in a way none of the other classmates would be able to.

eventually, during missions, whenever inumaki said in his code language, she nodded and replied accordingly, causing everyone else to be surprised that she could understand him in a much deeper way.

he's the best listener, there's no shadow of a doubt

months went by, and even as yuuta decided to travel overseas, she stayed back to help everyone. this made her be closer to inumaki, especially whenever the kyoto jujutsu high people showed up.

she would even invite her classmates over for a meal, which inumaki would help her cook, and as they spent time together, they noticed the little things appealing to them, for her, it was his eyes and in the way, he'd give her head pats, and for him, it was how she gave him space to cope with everything,.

when inumaki fought against hanami, he hurt his chest so bad that he needed to rest and recuperate a little bit.

so when he was resting, (y/n) had gone to meet him, sat beside him every day, ruffled his hair, spoke to him about whatever happened, and also confessed while he was sleeping. “well, this is not what i expected to happen. toge, Iooking out for curses doesn't feel the same without you. i wish i could tell you how much i like you and how much i miss you. anyway, get better soon,” and leave the room, while she was oblivious that inumaki had actually heard that, causing him to smile.

in the days leading to her birthday, she noticed teddy bears being left outside her house, and she'd smiled, picking them up and keeping them safely in her bedroom.

on the day of her birthday, she found a (f/c) teddy bear outside with a note, saying, “i may or may not be secretly leaving teddy bears outside your house so i can see your delighted face in the mornings. meet me at our spot in the park.”

as she went to the park, she noticed a blanket on the grass with her favorite items and a note that said, “happy birthday, will you go out with me?” she turned around to find her favorite person and ran to him and hugged him, who in return left her a soft peck on her lips as they ate together for the first time as a couple.

Its my birthday!

having toge celebrate ur birthday is just a fun experience yet a memorable one. Toge always got u the best presents but not this year!

This year he had other plans, toge got a chance to prank u so he used it! First of his plan was the cake, usually he gets u a small vanilla cake with strawberries but this year he did something other than usual.

He invited all of your close friends and family members to celebrate, you were just tired of studying all day long and cooking then u finally got a text from him, it was like a relief for you. "hey honey please come to my house!" he texted waiting for u as a bunch of presents were waiting for you.

At first yuta blindfolded you and led u the way. Only to find toge wearing a party hat with a cute bouquet of flowers having "happy birthday" written on it. At this point, you just thought it would be a wholesome night. You hugged toge gentle as he took off the blindfold only to find your family and friends throwing party poppers all over the place singing u happy birthday songs!

"oh toge I couldn't ask for a more perfect boyfriend than you" you smiled kissing his hand, yuta than interrupted and told u that you should cut the cake, and when u did the whole table was filled from the whipped cream. It was a balloon designed as a cake. At this point u felt humiliated while the guests where laughing. "it's not fun toge!" you were able to cry until toge did this.

He took out the box of the "engagement ring" from the balloon cake and got on one knee "shake! Ikura? Takana!" he said indicating that he wants to propose to you with a candy ring as you both were 17 at the time and it was a bit early.

Honestly it was a bit chaotic but fun memory, you still got the ring he "proposed" with and it's really adorable. You couldn't ask for a more fun and caring partner ❤️
