This is my oldest brother, Theo, watching some gaming live stream and Zues(our German shepherd husky mix) was apparently wanting to watch too😂

I just walked in to Theo's room to tell him I am getting door dash for dinner [it's just Theo and I home tonight- parents are out] and see if he wants me to order him food as well & I walked in to this! Too funny not to snap a picture & share...

Captain, our doberman, otherwise known as my #1 dude, my main man, or the best dog ever...he is a whole mood on his own in the morning. He really hates getting up in the morning and there is not a food, treat, toy or activity that is incentive enough to bribe Captain to get up...he is incredibly stubborn. All the other dogs in the Greyson household pack of hounds will get up no problem. We usually put the dogs out for their first morning potty around 7:30 and feed them shortly after all except Captain. This guy doesn't get out of my bed (where he sleeps every night) till 10:30 or 11 at the earliest.

The funny thing is the only way Captain will get out of bed before he's ready to (usually there's no real reason he has to we just let him sleep) is if you say the magic words, you have to say "that's an order" after whatever command in the morning so for example "Captain you need to get up and go potty that's an order."🤷‍♀️ Works every time lol.

Dog is serious about his beauty sleep...Captain sleeps the latest and is usually in bed the earliest.

Captain, our doberman, has a secret love of ducks. It started 6 or so years ago when our family was living in North Carolina. One of our neighbors had ducks and Captain absolutely was obsessed with them from the first moment he saw them. Captain didn't want to hunt them or chase them or anything - it was actually the opposite- Captain loved cuddling them, watching over them. He would lick them and weirdly enough the ducks & Captain bonded and both liked each other. It was a pretty odd couple the ducks & Captain...

When we eventually moved from north Carolina Captain got really depressed for a while- he was sincerely heartbroken about leaving his ducks. We bought him a stuffed animal duck and it really helped Captain- he was happy again. Since then, Captain has gone through so many stuffed ducks- every few months we are buying him one to replace the prior that is worn out/ falling apart. If ever you tell Captain to go get his baby- he'll bring you his duck and Captain normally brings his duck to bed with him at night.

& Don't even get me started recounting incidents where we've taken Captain for a walk or something and he happens to see wild ducks smh...

Morning vibe with Jewel 12/02/23

Jewel's face is about how I feel about early morning dance classes on Saturday. Not that this is an abnormal thing for me and my dance schedule but there are times I still gripe about it....like today. I'd like to just lay around in bed this morning.

Anyway, my family got our Christmas tree up and decorated yesterday evening. Liam and Caitlyn came over and hung out and helped too which was nice. It is still a little weird that my brother Liam and Caitlyn don't live in our house anymore AND Liam is going to be a father...holy shit! That's all just so weird, surreal and crazy to me. It's also possible my oldest brother Theo might be moving out and going to New York for a job opportunity there as a wedding photographer. Photography is really Theo's passion even though he does have a business finance degree as well and works in banking which is a good job but I understand He wants to do more of what he loves and not continue full time career in banking and doing photography on the side where he can and when he has time. I want him to have a photography job. I am jealous He could be moving to new York. New York is where my family is from originally and I love new York so much - miss living there.

Well, that's my little blurb for today. I have to get in for hiphop class!

Our family's doberman, Captain, is not a morning kind of dog...that's no secret but he has been better about getting out of bed in the morning. That doesn't mean though that I still don't get the looks from Captain in the mornings...

The look Captain gives once we are up and Hes followed the routine with the other 7 dogs of getting their breakfast and then going outside for their morning business. Captain looks at me as if to say 'Really? We got out of bed for this? WTF?'

Honestly, I am not really a morning person either so I can't say I blame Captain even though I am up early every day I wish I was able to sleep late it just doesn't happen for me because of insomnia(which is made worse with hyperthyroidism) I don't fall asleep or stay asleep well, I also usually have early dance classes or appointments or work or something, and also I think it's because of my type A personality which both my parents and brothers have as well- just the drive and need to get things done- accomplish things and the earlier you get up...the more day time you have to accomplish things.

The term double trouble has never described a canine duo so well as River(our male golden retriever) and Zues (our german shepherd and husky mix)!

If you are not aware Zues was not really a planned addition to the Greyson household hound pack. Over a year ago now, when our family was still living in Washington state, Zues was handed over to us by a coworker/friend of one of my brothers because this person's situation in life was changing and for many reasons they couldn't care for Zues properly or keep him any longer. Zues was originally going to be a temporary visitor in the hound pack until we could find him a fit forever home but being around this german shepherd husky mix we all quickly fell in love with him & so his home is forever with us Greysons. Since the day Zues came into our home he has been close companions with our 2 golden retrievers, River and Ava. At this point none of us in the family are quite sure Zues realizes he is in fact not a golden retriever. River and Zues are particularly bonded I think partly because they are very close age wise and them being so opposite in personality- they balance each other out...well most of the time at least...

These two boys together have caused a lot of mischief and pulled some crazy shenanigans but this morning might have topped all the ones before (if I am honest I'm kind of impressed & simultaneously mystified by the whole event). Sunday mornings in the Greyson household are typically pretty lazy, slow and uneventful and this morning started out the same. By 9:30A.M. all the dogs had been fed and watered and a little after 10 they were put out in our fenced in backyard. My mother called me downstairs a while later and informed me that both River and Zues were missing. Mom had gone to let the 8 dogs that make up the Greyson household pack of hounds back in the house but the two never came & were not anywhere in the yard. We checked the fence and gates around our backyard- went around the sides and front of the house. Dad and Theo went to neighbors and yet Zues and River had not been found or seen. We have security cameras around the outside of our home and when we looked at it- Zues and River were out in the backyard with the other dogs- they were there and then they were gone. Never seen jumping over or digging under some part of the fence, never caught on any cameras along the sides or front of the house. After nearly 45 minutes of searching and investigating along with my family I came inside our house to search inside (eventhough there was no chance to any reasonable person they had gotten back inside). I went down into the basement on the finished side which has a small second kitchen, living area that is our game/video game room, a bedroom that was Liam and Caitlyn's before they married and moved out and a small half bath. Down there I first found River- he was laying on top of the pool table! Zues was then found in that small kitchen laying by the fridge. I couldn't believe how calm and nonchalant they both looked at me as if this was perfectly normal and not Houdini like at all!

I have so many questions! Most important how in the world did these two get back in from the backyard when doors were closed and get into the basement unnoticed?? I guess Houdini dogs never tell their secrets. Double trouble...

This is how Captain tries to prevent me from getting out of bed nearly every morning - he lays on top of me and stares at me until he falls back to sleep with his head still up[Captain is currently snoring while remaining in this position]. I just want to go to the kitchen & get coffee!

Captain is our doberman here in the Greyson household pack of hounds & if you are familiar at all with me or my posts then you are aware that of the 8 dogs we call family Captain is very attached to me more so than my parents or brothers. When I am home regardless what I am doing Captain is usually next to me, laying on me in some form or fashion or is close by - somewhere he can still have me in eye sight.

One thing about Captain though is He really does not like when anyone in the house is looking at their phone, tablet, laptop/computer. He even has a dislike for people reading books although Captain seems to find it acceptable for us to watch tv.

I am not sure what it is- maybe Captain gets jealous of the up close attention but regardless he will attempt to use his paws, snout and head to knock phones, tablets and books out of your hands. Captain will try and sometimes succeed at closing your laptop when you are using it. Another of his favorite tactics is place some part of him in the way to block whatever you might be looking at. It's all usually pretty funny but sometimes irritating.

Since my older brothers and I were homeschooled from kindergarten all the way through highschool- we did a lot of work on laptops and computers and of course had books and things to read for school. We taught Captain that when we said to him we were doing school - he needed to, for lack of a better way to put it, back off and allow us to continue without his stunts to stop or distract us and he does. This doesn't work when you try to pull one over on Captain & tell him you are doing school when you aren't. I don't know know how he knows but this dog can tell if you are lie about what you are reading or looking being for school & he goes back to his tactics to stop or distract you.

I have recently been taking some online college courses so I am back to having to tell Captain I am doing school and he backs off, although he still doesn't like it.

I want to know how this dog figures out we are lying about doing school. How is Captain able to be a k9 lie detector?

This is Captain being good & doing his best to be patient and supportive while I work on some things for my college courses.

According to Captain there is no 'good' morning if you are woken up before 11AM.

Incase of the mondays I have found some pictures of our dogs as puppies for you! The only one not included is our German shepherd husky mix, Zues because we did not get him as a puppy. He was actually not a dog we planned to get or intended to keep but love him much! So we've actually only had Zues for about a year and half now.
