2.5/5⭐ ✔️ A solitude of wolverines de Alice Henderson. 4/5⭐ #libros #librosenespañol #librosrecomendados #librosymaslibros #librosgram #booklover #books #bookstagram #bookstagramargentina (en Bahía Blanca Bs As) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoIZNnnOKIh/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

To the Center of the Earth— Greig Beck
Alright folks, back at it again with another one. This was a fun little adventure novel (available on kindle unlimited) it was a good read. My main criticism is the lack of character depth, but there was some fun sci-fi elements to it that I enjoyed.
I like sci-fi the best of all genres and I especially like really sciencey sci-fi, and although you really have to suspend disbelief a lot I think the premise of this book works well enough in context.
SPOILERS::::
Okay, so one problem I have with this I have with this is that the main character (I guess he isnt technically the MAIN character but hes one of the leaders of the expedition) Truely believed there was a chance that he was going to the center of the earth. Like this man spent a good portion of his life and a lot of effort to get to the center of the Earth and brought a bunch of his dear friends to risk life and limb of this expedition and they didnt bother to being a frickin’ digital camera?? Excuse me? Like I get they were packing light, but seriously? Now they have very little proof of all the bull shittiery they went through. Okay, thats all.

Currently Reading 📖: The Siberian Incident
I will absolutely eat up a good creature-feature, book otherwise. And if it's about parasitic alien life that becomes its host, then I will DEVOUR it. The Siberian Incident has been the latter as I have already burned through the first half of the book in day; a true page turner in my eye.
Some thoughts and possibly spoilers after the break,
The characters aren't anything special, but they have just enough personality to make you care a modicum amount about their wellbeing, and that is all that is really needed in stuff like this. You need to care just enough about them so that their inevitable death, either against the alien that resides in the lake or the Bratva, aka the Russian mafia.
At this point in the book, the alien monster is really beginning to make its presence known, what with first appearing in the form of a bear. But not just any bear: A dead, hollowed corpse of bear! Apparently whatever the alien itself is, it's capable of assuming the identity of its prey by, not assimilating with it, but by hollowing their corpse out and then slipping inside to wear it like a suit.
It hasn't been all that gory, but then there hasn't been a whole lot going on beyond the bear autopsy and initial encounter with the mafia, so I am hoping things get gross and painful soon. The suspense and anticipation of seeing the alien's true form is certainly building.
