If you’re like me and live in a city, you may also get greenery withdrawals. Since moving to Manchester for University i’ve realised how important the outdoors really are. You may be also have suffered from anxiety, depression and panic attacks, however this is not to say that if you live in a tree-house high above in the amazon that you’re not subject to some sort of intense or anxious feeling by any means, we are all vulnerable up there from time to time. However, as someone who has dealt with some of these certain feelings, they can hold you down like the Lilliputians, rope after rope or thought after thought. I found when remaining positive wasn't always the most straightforward solution, turning to exploring the outdoors is the finest way to take a moment to appreciate the world we live in and take a step back from the pressures of our hustling society. Whether its the mountain ranges of the lake district or your local park, plenty of studies show the health benefits of becoming more outdoors, encourage the people around you who live busy and stressful lives to go and make the conscious effort to go get that ‘Green Exercise’
As we know this year Friday 23rd November is 'Black Friday' so I'm gonna roll with 'Green Friday' by doing a litter pic while walking in a natural environment. Interestingly whenever I walk to my 'Sit-Spot' in The Mersey Coastal Forest I always end up zoning in on little bits of litter amongst the trees and then pick it all up and put it in the nearest bin 🌲🚮🌲👍👍
