I wish it could be easy for all of us
a person points to their own shadow, symbolizing the inherent struggle we face in breaking free from the shackles that hold us captive to our thoughts and societal expectations.
In today's world, we often mistakenly equate freedom solely with the rights bestowed upon us by the government. However, the true essence of freedom lies beyond the confines of legislation. It resides within the depths of our minds and hearts, where we grapple with limiting beliefs, self-doubt, and the fear of judgment.
Society's norms, prejudices, and expectations can become insidious chains that bind us, preventing us from exploring our individuality and embracing our uniqueness. We are conditioned to conform, willingly surrendering our freedom of thought to the expectations of others.
But within each of us, there lies an untamed spirit yearning to soar beyond boundaries and restrictions. To achieve genuine freedom, we must first liberate ourselves from the mental barriers that inhibit our growth. We must challenge the status quo, question the accepted norms, and dare to be authentic in a world that often thrives on conformity.
The person in the photograph reminds us that it is within our power to shatter the illusions of captivity. By empowering our mentality, we can break free from the chains of conformity, embracing our true selves without fear or inhibition.

One recent “point,” Bhattacharya recalled, was Khalid telling them that from what he had seen in jail, Hindi-language newspapers are how most inmates got their news. If they were running public campaigns to persuade the BJP government to release political prisoners under their regime, they should start writing in Hindi. Lahiri recalled that while English-language newspapers carried both the prosecution and defence arguments of Khalid’s year-long bail hearings in the trial court hearing the Delhi riots conspiracy case and then the Delhi High Court, the Hindi language newspapers barely reported the arguments Khalid’s lawyer Trideep Pais made in court. They, however, carried the claims made by the police in a prominent place, with headlines that made allegations sound like facts.

Arriving at Chennai (colonial Madras) as it sweltered in the heat of the impending monsoon, Wheeler found the government offices closed and decided to kill time at the local museum. "In a workshop cupboard," he wrote in his memoirs,
my hand closed upon a neck and long handle of a pottery vessel strangely alien to that tropical environment. As I looked upon it I remember recalling that provocative question in the Legislative Assembly at New Delhi: "What has Roman Britain got to do with India?" Here was the complete answer.

Durga basti in New Delhi, inhabited by dwellers employed mainly in the informal service sector – casual labourers, domestic workers, barber, carpenter, iron smith, vegetable vendors, street hawkers, tailors, washermen, cleaners, masons, rickshaw pullers, sex workers etc, was a large slum destroyed to make way for the Delhi Metro. In the wake of the city gearing itself for ‘world class standards’, people were driven out from footpaths, roads, parks and other public spaces due to a nexus between government, citizen’s groups and judiciary. The land was taken away from the poor and used for operations of the globalised capitalist economy, the big business players, the real estate lobby and the corporations.
