Israel has cut water, electricity and food to Palestinians in Gaza. They are buying 10.000 M16 rifles and plan to distribute to civilian settlers in the West Bank to hunt down Palestinians. They're bombing the only way out of Gaza through Egypt, after telling refugees to flee through it, and have threatened the Egyptian government in case they let aid trucks pass through. Entire families, generations, are being wiped out and left to wander the streets hoping they don't get bombed.
Palestinians are using their last minutes of battery to let the world know about their genocide and are being met with a wall of "What about Hamas? What about the beheaded babies? Killing children on either side is bad!" even though the propaganda claims have been debunked over and over again. How cruel is it to ask somebody to condemn themselves before their last words? Or before grieving the loss of their entire families? When there's no such disclaimer to Israelis even though their government has shown over and over genocidal intent? Like who are you even trying to appease? What will your wishy washy statement do against decades of zionist thought infiltrating evangelical and Jewish stablishmemts?
Take action. Israel will fall back if public opinion turns its tide. The UK fell back on its bloody decision to cut aid to Palestine under public scrutiny. The USAmerican empire spends $3.8 billion dollars annually solely on this proxy war while its people suffer under a progressively military regime as well. News outlets are canceling last minute on Palestinian speakers while letting Israelis tell lies unchecked. Palestinian refugees are being targeted in ICE establishments and mosques are already being hounded by the FBI. France and Germany have banned pro-Palestine protests, while Netherlands and the UK have placed restrictions . You have the chance to stop this from turning into repeat of the Iraq war.
I want to do something but there's hardly anything for me to do from Brasil besides spreading the word and not letting these testimonies fall on deaf ears. I'm asking you to do this same ant work from wherever you are.

Inktober Days 19-21
Day 19: "Plump"
Tumblr media
Fat! Bear! Week! It’s perhaps the most beloved modern tradition to come out of a national park, when enthusiasts around the globe tune in to the Katmai webcams to see the results of a summer of brown bears gorging on salmon. We root them on, following their progress as they go from springtime skin and bones to mega-autumn chonk in just a few months. Watching these immense bears prowling Brooks Falls for leaping fish is so captivating that at some parks, during slow moments in the visitor centers, we would switch on the webcam feeds at the information desk. Rangers come from all different backgrounds, with all different affiliations and alma maters, but few things bring us all together like cheering on a wild bear eating wild salmon.
Day 20: "Frost"
Tumblr media
One of the privileges of working in northern mountain parks is the early coming of cool weather. Born and raised in South Carolina, few things make me feel more alive than a brush of autumn in August. I remember that first welcome moment in Glacier, when I climbed out of the government truck at Logan Pass for my shift in the high country. There was frost on the mountain slopes and a snap in the air. My breath fogged in front of my face, and the wind whipped through my park green sweater and jacket. Back at home, it was ninety-five degrees and humid, but on that morning, I swapped my flat hat for my fleece cap and spent the day bundled up on the Highline Trail, noting the huckleberries taking on their first tinge of crimson. I remember coming back to the tiny ranger station to find the woodburning stove crackling away, and I thought this must be what paradise was like.
Day 21: "Chains"
Tumblr media
My first thought for this prompt was a chain of islands, but as I brushed up on Channel Islands, I realized it fits even better thanks to the chain of life that stretches from sea to land to air. Underwater terrain creates huge upwellings of nutrients that form the base of a food chain in the kelp forests, where vivid orange garibaldi and massive seabass swim among the waving fronds. Seals and sea lions spin and dive before hauling out onto beaches in noisy rookeries. Above them on the headlands, rare island foxes—only found on six of these islands and nowhere else in the world—scamper after mice and insects, occasionally coming to the shoreline for crabs. And in the skies, bald eagles, storm-petrels, and cormorants swoop down to pluck fish and other meals from the sea. And so life goes around and around on this scrappy cluster of islands.
Like these? Want extra illustrations and national park travel tips straight from the ranger's mouth? You can preorder Thirty-One Days of Inktober: The Artbook! It's a limited run--- snag yours now before they're gone!

Zack: well, one of the funner things we do here on Babylon 5 is the annual Easter egg hunt. Garibaldi hides the eggs, and, I have to say, he did an exceptional job this year. I’ve been searching for 25 minutes, and I haven’t found a single egg. and I’m an adult.
Garibaldi: ooh, yeah. I forgot to do that.

Babylon 5 Rewatch - Soul Hunter
(man those DVD menus sure are something. I want an Animorphs-style version of it, honestly)
((I did the watching on Wednesday and then forgot to post, booo)
I do love the gravity by rotation-design of Earth ships
Fraaaanklin, my favourite space doctor
engage tractor bea...oh. wrong show.
I guess we'll make do with the new and exciting tech of a grappling claw
I would LOVE to see them parking the Starfury. The drop system is neat but how do they get back?
it's always a joy to see William Morgan Sheppard in anything - with him and John Vickery, B5 has cast my favourite two voices ever :D
ah and we get our first look at the lurkers!
not for the last time, all the aliens know something the humans don't, and I really like that humans are so comparatively new to all of this
!!! oh and here's the first mention of Dukat, too. Not that Dukat. Although we'll get a BUNCH of B5/Trek actor crossover, starting right now with William Morgan Sheppard.
I love that little burial ceremony they do
YEESSSS the mantis alien :D iirc they got that one from Buffy??
(edit: no Buffy got it from them)
Garibaldi and Sinclair are always so much fun together
good to know that there is zero medical privacy, it would just feel weird. Is there any scifi series that has it (genuine question)
Sinclair looking up Satai - the plot thickens
'Life's full of mysteries. Consider this one of them.' is such a good way to say, this is none of your business :D

Always a Good Time with Garibaldi
Named after the famous Italian revolutionary, the garibaldi (Hypsypops rubicundus), also known as the marine goldfish or the catalina goldfish, is a species of damselfish found throughout the northeastern Pacific Ocean, particularly in kelp forests and rocky reefs along the North American coasts from central California in the US to Baja, Mexico.
H. rubicundus can grow to be over 38 cm (15 in) in length, making them the largest member of the damselfish family. Juveniles are red with blue spots, while adults are a vivid, solid orange. This color is what gives the garibaldi fish its name; the Italian Giuseppe Garibaldi and his followers were known for their red or orange shirts. Because they’re so brightly colored, marine goldfish might seem like easy targets for potential predators. However, garibaldi males are actually highly aggressive and will attack anything that enters their territory. The juvenile markings are similarly bright to advertise that they’re not there to pick a fight with older males.
Though males guard their territory year-round, mating only occurs from March to July. Males construct nests about 30 cm (12 in) across, removing all vegetation except for red algae. They then swim around their nest, displaying their fins and making loud clucking and grinding vocalizations. If a female is impressed, she deposits up to eggs 15,000 eggs in the nest, and the male fertilizes them. He then guards the eggs from almost-- including the mother, who may try to eat them. However, he does make exceptions for other females, especially as they are more likely to chose nests which already contain eggs. About three weeks after being laid, the eggs hatch and the young disperse. It takes them about five or six years to reach maturity, and individuals can live between 10 to 12 years.
The marine goldfish’s size and aggression wards off most predators, but larger animals like sharks, seals, and sea lions will hunt them on occasion. Younger individuals are also often targeted by sea birds like pelicans. Garibaldis themselves consume invertebrates, particularly sponges tubeworms, and nudibranchs, as well as algae. Despite their territoriality, H. rubicundus has also been known to gather in groups higher up in the water column; this may be a time for males to familiarize and for females to scout out potential mates.
If you like what I do, consider leaving a tip or buying me a ko-fi!
