Since the tragic but over-sensationalized events that happened on the night of the Awards a few months ago, Gideon has had special cause to avoid any media person in his path. Rather successfully, he’d managed to avoid Samar Sehgal among them.
Others had tried to ask him questions, naturally, but most lacked that Sehgal level of persistence, and so he’d dodged questions, whenever he hadn’t been able to dodge journalists in their entirety. 
... Until now.
He’d known it was risky to approach the lion’s den, but Amélie had pleaded and as time goes on he’s found it harder and harder to deny her any request. But as Samar exits the building and claps eyes on him, Gideon fears it’ll come at a steep cost.

1 Executive Summary
This strategic management paper shrouded the first largest and only integrated telecommunication company, The Philippine Long Distance Telephone, Inc. (PLDT) within the Philippines. PLDT, Inc. has been awarded Ph's first global MEF 3.0 certification for carrier ethernet services. The company is the leader in providing a wide extend of media transmission services, counting settled line, cellular, and broadband services in the country.
This paper provides PLDT’s corporate vision and mission. The vision statement is brief and comprehensive, it identifies the company’s goals and defines where and what PLDT Inc. wants to be in the future. The mission statement is realistic and clear, PLDT Inc. has recognized its target client bunches, and also distinguished their needs and requests, audibly it focuses on tending to issues of client fulfillment. It also implicated the corporate officers of the company. Provide some examples of the product and services they offered. In external assessment, the sector includes different kinds of forces, key external factors, and the Porter’s Model Analysis. It also evaluates the internal and external matrices that show the strong internal status and how successful PLDT Inc. in its field. After calculating the total weighted score of the matrices, they were translated into a formulation of business strategies.
The biggest competitor of the company in the telecommunication sector is Globe Telecom. In the fixed-line telephone market, PLDT with its subsidiary is Globe’s main rival. PLDT was consistently increasing in revenues against Globe Telecoms. In general market development in terms of subscriber’s base within the year is still at 7.3% and the market value is still at 8.1% making the company drop into quick advertise development. Based on the increment of subscriptions and the overpowering volume of information usage tied down with the rising modern technologies.

PLDT is the Philippines' largest and only integrated telco company. Founded on November 28, 1928, the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) is the leading telecommunications and internet service provider in the Philippines. Through its three principal business groups—fixed line, wireless and information and communication technology, PLDT offers the largest and most diverse range of telecommunications services across the Philippines’ most extensive fiber optic backbone and fixed line, cellular and satellite networks.
The company's core businesses are fixed-line telecommunications, mobile telephony services, broadband, and internet of things services under various brands. It also has investments in broadcasting, print media, utilities, and direct to home satellite services, among others. As of 2019, PLDT is listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE:TEL) and its American Depositary Shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:PHI). PLDT has one of the largest market capitalizations among Philippine-listed companies.
The first president of PLDT was Theodore Vail Halsey while Major J.E. Hamilton Stevenot, who represented the American firm General Telephone and Electronics Corp. (GTE), was elected executive vice president and general manager.
When PLDT was incorporated and given the franchise to establish and operate telephone services in the country on November 28, 1928, a typhoon had just ravaged Eastern Visayas, Bicol Peninsula, and Samar. The ability to communicate amongst loved ones and across the country became crucial. Sadly, phone networks then were like disconnected intercom systems and you could only call people within your own small city. Filipinos were disconnected from neighboring towns, disconnected from friends in the other island and, needless to say, disconnected from the rest of the world. It was under this scenario that the law was signed giving birth to PLDT.
What the new law hoped to achieve was to interconnect these "intercom" systems into a seamless nationwide network that would facilitate communication and delivery of services to the people, as well as spur economic development in the countryside.
Under the American owners of PLDT, many small phone companies in the provinces were acquired by the Company to help speed up the rollout and connection of these different phone systems all over the country. The management of PLDT was then set to lay the groundwork towards linking Filipinos to each other and, more importantly, to the world.

The total weighted score of 2.68 in the table above indicates that PLDT has a strong internal status, with its strengths outnumbering its weaknesses.
Strengths
PLDT’s three main business groups, Fixed Line, Wireless, and Information and Communication Technology, provide the country’s most comprehensive and diverse range of telecommunications services. To offer the best services to their customers, the company uses the most comprehensive fiber optic backbone as well as fixed line, cellular, and satellite networks.
Weaknesses
On the other hand, one of PLDT’s flaws is its sluggish link speed. When PLDT introduced its Vibe and DSL products, which enabled customers to connect to the internet faster via broadband, there were numerous complaints about the service. The slow internet was the one of the top complaints as it failed to meet the customer’s needs. And those issues were not addressed or published in a timely manner. Customers may decide to switch providers if they believe that they find a better offer for the service they need.
3 External Assessment

i) Economic/Business Cycle Stage
High political stability provides a stable and friendly business environment with predictable market growth trends. However, when there is political chaos, it deters the investors and harms the stakeholders’ trust in economic and consequent organizational performance. Currently, PLDT Inc. is present in different countries, each having own political tensions.
ii) Inflation/Employment/Interest/Exchange Rates
The GDP growth rate will determine the PLDT Inc.’s ability to pursue its long-term growth strategies. High GDP also signals the consumers’ ability to spend more on offered products. High unemployment signals the availability of surplus labor at comparatively lower wages. Operating in such a market can lower the production cost of PLDT Inc. The organization should also carefully consider the interest rate and its influence on borrowing ability and attitude towards investment. The high interest rate will encourage the attitude towards investment and increase growth opportunities for PLDT Inc. Finally, the exchange rate fluctuation can also influence the profitability and international trade. The high fluctuation on local currency can be a cause of serious concern for PLDT Inc.
iii) Labor Market Conditions
PLDT Inc. must study and predict the labor market conditions to understand how it can attract talented workers and leverage their skills to improve business performance. When labor markets are flexible, PLDT Inc. can take advantage of higher labor productivity. Whereas, operating in rigid labor markets may cause labor wage and other issues raised by powerful labor unions. PLDT Inc. should also carefully analyze the availability of skilled human capital as a shortage of skilled labor can affect business efficiency and make talent attraction and retention more challenging.

The global expansion strategies of the PLDT Inc. are influenced by the financial market efficiency as operating in highly efficient financial markets leads towards improved liquidity position and strengthened ability to enter new markets. Studying the demographic characteristics can help PLDT Inc. in choosing the right market segment/segments with high growth potential. The business and marketing strategies are also influenced by migration. It is important for PLDT Inc. to understand the people’s general attitude towards migration as it can influence firms’ ability to bring international managers to host country.
ii) Equality and Power Distance
PLDT Inc. must adjust its business management practices while entering in markets with high or low power distance. The growing inequality in many countries is altering the power structure, which has serious implications for international business organizations like PLDT Inc.
iii) Gender Roles
PLDT Inc. need to study the traditionally assigned gender roles to align its marketing and communication practices accordingly. Marketing and human resource strategies in a traditional, patriarchal society with clearly distinguished gender roles will be different from societies with low gender stereotypes.

PLDT Inc. should invest time on understanding the consumption motivations and social trends that define the consumption behavior. PLDT Inc. should also attempt to understand the degree of consumer ethnocentrism and consider the country of origin effect to determine local consumers’ evaluation of foreign products. Lastly, PLDT Inc. should study the consumers’ leisure interests and should focus more on enhancing the customer experience if customers prefer experiential products over traditional product offerings.

i) Political Stability
PLDT Inc. is present in different countries, each having own political tensions. Growing tensions and instabilities in the global political environment can affect the Gold industry growth and limit the growth opportunities available to PLDT Inc.
ii) Changing Policies
It is important for PLDT Inc. to study the current trends in the country’s political scenario as changes in government may alter the government’s priorities towards the development of different industries.
iii) Protests/Pressure Groups and Governance System
PLDT Inc. should carefully analyze the protests by pressure groups, social/environment activists and worker unions as such protests play an important role in the policy making process. Close collaboration with such groups may enhance the PLDT Inc.’s ability to collaborate with community and achieve long-term corporate goals.
iv) Bureaucracy and Corruption
Operating in countries with high corruption level and weak law enforcement makes the business environment increasingly unpredictable for PLDT Inc. due to jeopardized public trust on business organizations and overall political and economic structure. The corruption can influence various business operations, ranging from licensing, contracting, fraudulent deals to frequent lawsuits. It will also threaten the organization’s sustainable development by destabilizing the society, harming justice system and endangering the rule of law.

High taxation affects international trade and prevents exports. PLDT Inc. can enter in low taxation markets and benefit from high profits that can be invested in research and development activities. PLDT Inc. should know the specific taxation policies to understand the host government’s priorities and interest in developing industries and how intellectual property rights are protected in the host country and make the business strategies accordingly.

Use of social media has become common in a modern business environment. PLDT Inc. can leverage the opportunities offered by social media marketing to improve business performance. Technological trends can be used to start the creative social media campaigns for developing online brand communities.

PLDT Inc. should carefully consider the on-going technological innovations to stay ahead of the competition. Entering in markets where technological advancement has not reached the maturity means PLDT Inc. can increase the market share by focusing on emerging technological innovations.

PLDT Inc. needs to consider the investments made by competitors on a micro and macro level to understand how new technologies influence the firm’s value chain and prevailing cost structure. The adoption of new technologies has shortened the lifecycle of new product development. Today, new products are developed quickly, and supply chain partners have also gained more power. • Rivalry Among Competing Firms = Strong
There are only few competitors that PLDT have in the Philippines such as Globe Telecom, Sky Cable Corporation, and Converge ICT Solutions. Globe Telecom is one of the leading telecommunications companies in the Philippines. It operates mobile, fixed line, and broadband networks and provides communications services to individual customers, small and medium-sized businesses, and corporate and enterprise clients. Next is Sky Cable Corporation which is known as the first internet service provider and the leading cable and broadband technology provider in the Philippines. It offers broadband, cable and satellite television services. And lastly, Converge ICT Solutions which is the leading player in all-optical broadband access industry in the Philippines. It operates fixed networks, fiber optics, cable TV, enterprise private lines, fixed broadband, and wireless broadband services for home, businesses and in the corporate world. These are the top competitors of PLDT for having almost the same services in the market. In that case, PLDT should step up their game since they offer almost the same services with these competitors. They should try differentiating their services or add something unique by providing new services. In that way, PLDT can get new customers and gain more loyal customers.
• Potential Entry of New Competitors = Moderate
There are also new entries of competitors of PLDT such as Dito Telecommunity Corporation. Dito Telecommunity Corporation is formerly known as Mindanao Islamic Telephone Company, Inc., or Mislatel. It is considered as the newest major telecommunications company in the Philippines. It offers connectivity with secure, fast, and high value 4G and 5G technologies that enable the customers to be connected, anytime, anywhere, any way they prefer. PLDT should focus on innovating their services from this new competitor. In that way, it can build a strong brand identity in the market.
• Bargaining Power of Suppliers = Strong
These suppliers can influence in raising the prices as well as reducing the goods and services of PLDT. It includes foreign investors, international and local contractors, and stakeholders. Foreign investors such as American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) where they issued with American Depositary Share (ADS) which represented one PLDT common share. This means that ADSs are listed and traded on the New York Stock Exchange and the Pacific Exchange in the US where PLDT (as one of the largest market capitalizations) is in listed companies. International and local contractors such as Chinese telecom suppliers Huawei Technologies, FiberHome, Sunsea Telecom Ltd., and Tyco Electronics, Singapore-based Fujikura Asia Ltd., Sweden’s Ericsson Telecommunications, and Fibercom Telecom Philippines which helps in the first phase of its P1.8-billion fixed-line fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network rollout program. And lastly, stakeholders which have a say in nominating directors as well as independent directors. Having these suppliers can help PLDT develop a close relationship where all of them can benefit from each other.
• Bargaining Power of Consumers = Strong
These consumers help in determining the quality of the goods and services offered by PLDT. It includes businessmen who are in charge in generating revenue from business activities, changing network services who are in charge of satisfying the customers' expectations and concerns regarding quality of service, pricing, application process, service provisioning process, repair and restoration service and the billing process, government sectors wherein having a partnerships with them can help the society, and lastly, small entrepreneurs such as PLDT Load / Smart Load from over 1 Million retailers nationwide and sari-sari stores or any PLDT Sales and Service Centers. These consumers can reduce the prices and improve the quality of the goods and services offered by PLDT.
• Potential Development of Substitute Products = Strong
These substitute products offer the same benefits of PLDT but in a different way. It includes mobile data and portable or pocket WIFI. Mobile data is an ability to use your cellular data in online browsing. It can also replace your internet at home especially if you are a light data user by activating your hotspot. Light data users use internet at home just to check the email, shop occasionally, or browse the websites. This can also save you from paying too much for an internet. Another substitute is Portable or pocket WIFI. Portable or pocket WIFI is a small wireless modem that connects any Wi-Fi enabled device (smartphones, laptops, and tablets) to the internet using load. It is small and light which makes it very comfortable to carry. These substitute products are considered as a threat for PLDT.

The External Factor Evaluation (EFE) Matrix shows the evaluation of external factors according to its weight, rating, and weighted score. The Key External Factors are based on the opportunities and threats of PLDT. Based on the gathered data, the total weighted score of weight is 1.0, while the weighted score is 3. This means that PLDT’s strategies are effective in taking advantage of the opportunities and preventing threats in the company.

The three companies had met the average standard of how performance of the industry should be in terms of what kind of service that this company is giving to their customers. As you can see from the table in terms of the scoring and with the comparison of various strengths and weakness that has been computed and being scored, we can tell that in terms of the final result, the PLDT has more advantage on attaining and being successful at their field because of how they cater the demands of their customers which is their strong point. It is mostly in terms of the PLDT’s breath of service offered and its availability and accessibility to the whole various people and to their customers which makes them attain and preserve the excellency they are known of in their line work as it is. The reason why the other major strengths of the other two companies of its competition had been seemed as not sufficient or effective is because of the availability and quality of the products that is being produced is mostly not covered by most demand of the customers all across the country.

Since PLDT is a major telecommunications firms the exert a specified services to masses as its own advantages and disadvantages that could lead as its weakness in the long run. Such major companies such as PLDT must have or initiate a long term plan on how they will organize and solve such incoming or futuristic issues that will provided on them in terms on their connection in the political environment
According to Fern Fort University, this are some political factors that could affect the company and some investors or shareholders must be wary before they enter this type of huge company by determining PLDT’s:

And such economic factors of the Philippines could work in their favor in terms of growth rate of the industry, inflation & industry’s economic indicators as digital service provider will be determined on how they’re daily goals of assets and profits will be in the next several years. PESTEL analysis is also a great way to examine and to enlist such several major factors that could identify future advantages and disadvantage of a major company when dealing itself in the macro perspective of its environment. In terms of the economic factors, according to the Fern Fort University of Ferndale State of Michigan, such economic factors that could impact the economic environment of PLDT are:

PLDT should always need to understand the well-being and the needs of their clients as their generated profit and income surrounds from its users. Social customer leadership is a potent factor to lead and to know what factors that could impact the social status of the company in the eyes of its wider audience, According to the (Fern Fort University, n.d.), using such PESTEL analysis could determine the:

Kami melihat ASUS sebagai produsen yang tidak pernah bosan merilis notebook baru, Dan belum lama ini notebook terbaru yang mereka rilis adalah ZenBook Flip S, yang diklaim sebagai notebook convertible tertipis di dunia. Inilah salah satu penyebab mengapa bobotnya ringan. Desain Asus Zenbook Flip S Jika kita melihat bagian depan, versi Royal Blue membawa karakteristik Gaya Zen yang berkilau. Warna biru ini dibawa ke bagian dalam notebook juga. Sementara itu, seluruh tepi notebook ini dipercantik dengan warna emas garis yang cocok dengan keyboard. Diklaim sebagai notebook convertible tertipis, port otomatis yang disediakan agak terbatas. Di sisi kiri, ada port USB C dan jack audio. Di sisi kanan, ada juga satu port USB C disertai dengan sensor sidik jari datar, volume jack, dan tombol power. Sadar bahwa port terbatas, ASUS juga menyertakan satu multi-adaptor di dalam kotak. Sebagai notebook konversi, layar ZenBook Flip S dapat dilipat 360 derajat. yang bisa Anda gunakan sebagai tablet raksasa.  Title:  Feeding Program 2019
Proponents: Children particularly in Albay
Theme: “Nutrition and Food security.”
Scope: Children particularly in Albay
Venue: Albay Astrodome (Old Albay District, Legazpi City, Albay)
Date: March 9, 2019 / 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
I-Rationale:
          This campaign will give free food and clean water to children particularly in Albay and with hygiene kits that contains toothbrush, toothpaste, towel and sanitizer. The Lack of food and clean water are one of the reasons why there are children who are suffering from malnutrition. Volunteers from Albay will gather together to help to distribute the food supplies and water. There are also some kind-hearted people who donated relief goods and grocery supplies to children in Albay. Donating to the needy benefits the recipient, but it also benefits the donor in a variety of ways, from financial considerations to improvements in physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual well-being. Therefore, Feeding Program 2019 is proposing to give free food supplies and clean water to children in Albay who are suffering from malnutrition and hunger.
 II-Objectives:
             This project aims to:
1. Provide free food supplies and clean water to the children particularly in Albay who are suffering from malnutrition and hunger.
2. Improve Life Satisfaction
3. Lower the incidence of malnutrition and Dreams to attain food sufficiency.
4. End Hunger and give welfare to children.  
5. Promote better growth and development of children.
 III-Description of the Activity
1.This project will be participated by the children particularly in Albay.
2. This project will help the children in Albay who are in need of enough food supplies and water in their everyday lives.
3. All the free food and water and some donations of food supplies and bottle water from people will be given to the certain children of Albay who are suffering from malnutrition.
4. This project will help the children to sustain their needs in food and water.
5. The said program will be held at Albay Astrodome with a capacity of 6,000 people. This will be convenient when held in a large space area.
6. The volunteers in distributing food supplies, water and hygiene kits for this project are students and citizens from Albay and people from different places.
7. This program is a huge event because there will be 800 participants.
8. The free food and water are from the Provincial Government of Albay in partnership with the Department of Agriculture.
9. There will be speakers who will acknowledge why children who suffer from malnutrition and hunger must treat immediately and will share about how we should maintain healthiness and cleanliness in our body. A speaker will also thank the important people who are behind this huge event and to all the volunteers and people who donated relief goods and water to the children.

Nama Micro-Star International alias MSI bisa dibilang sudah sangat dikenal di kalangan gamers dengan berbagai varian produknya yang menyasar gaming. Produsen komputer asal Taiwan itupun berupaya untuk memperluas segmentasi pasar dengan merambah produk untuk kalangan bisnis lewat seri Prestige. Salah satu produk terbaru di seri ini adalah MSI PS42 8RB Prestige.
Di Indonesia, produk yang menyasar kalangan profesional ini diluncurkan bertepatan dengan ajang Indocomtech 2018 pada awal November tahun lalu. Berbalut dengan simple elegant dengan bobot yang cukup ringan, membuat laptop ini bisa menjadi alternatif terbaru yang menarik di segmen tersebut.
Tapi tentu saja, tampilan dan bobot masih belum cukup untuk memutuskan sebuah laptop memang layak beli. Maka baca selengkapnya review MSI PS42 8RB berikut ini agar kamu bisa mendapat pencerahan sejauh mana seri Prestige mampu unjuk gigi.
Desain
Salah satu faktor yang membuat sebuah produk laptop dilirik, biasanya karena faktor desain. Kenapa Apple laris salah satunya karena desainnya yang mahal. Sederhana tapi menggugah selera. Nah, MSI rupanya menyadari hal ini. Desain apik bisa mengatrol minat konsumen.
Desain logo naga merah yang jadi ciri khas di tiap laptop gaming-nya, diaplikasikan pula di seri Prestige ini. Bedanya warna logo melebur dengan casing full alumunium berwarna silver. Efeknya kesan mahal pun segera hadir pada laptop yang memang sudah mahal dari sananya seharga Rp 14 jutaan. Dan memang seluruh body maupun casing Prestige ini dibalur warna silver terang. Bahkan stiker fitur produk pun warnanya senada.
Konsep slim design diadopsikan pula oleh MSI. Dimensi tipis dengan layar yang bisa dibuka sampai 180 derajat membuatnya asyik dipakai di segala tempat. Thin-bezel yang memagari layar IPS sengaja tidak dibuat menyatu, menghasilkan rasio layar hingga 81% dengan efek lebar. Menariknya logo MSI samar terletak di bawah layar, disusul kamera di bawahnya. Hal yang cukup unik, mengingat lazimnya kamera laptop biasa ditaruh di bagian atas.
Permukaan di bagian keyboard terasa agak penuh karena pemangkasan ukuran trackpad. Ditambah jejalan speaker dan tombol power di bagian tengah laptop. Lagi-lagi berbeda dengan desain kekinian yang menempatkan tombol power di antara keypad bagian kanan atas. Tapi justru desain ini menurut saya terlihat lebih terkonsep. Memunculkan aura  futuristik tersendiri.
Display
Layar MSI PS42 8RB Prestige sebesar 14 inci memiliki kualitas warna yang tajam. Selain karena material IPS yang digunakan. Layar ini juga mampu menyajikan resolusi full HD 1920 x 1020. Cukup nyaman untuk bekerja kantor, membuat desain ataupun menonton video.
Tak ketinggalan MSI turut menyertakan fitur True Color ke dalam Prestige. Fitur pada layar IPS ini sebenarnya berfungsi untuk menghasilkan warna pada gambar mendekati aslinya. Dengan sRGB mendekati persentase nyaris 100% dan kemampuan color coverage NTSC hingga 72%. Yang membantu tugas desainer ketika hendak mencetak hasil kerjanya sesuai dengan rentang warna pada perangkat printer.
Port dan Konektivitas
Untuk sebuah laptop yang memiliki desain langsing seperti ini, MSI PS42 8RB Prestige masih mampu memenuhi kebutuhan port terbaru. Ada dua port Type-C terpasang di kedua sisi laptop. Kalau itu belum cukup, kamu masih bisa menggunakan port USB 3.1 type A di sisi kanan cover. Port yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk memasangkan mouse gaming, misalnya.
Sementara lubang untuk charging ada di sebelah kiri, di dekatnya juga ada port HDMI dan audio 3.5 mm. Tentu saja MSI membuat Prestige seperti halnya laptop saat ini yang tidak menyertakan lagi port VGA dalam fitur produknya. Terkahir jangan lupakan port kartu SD.
Sedangkan kebutuhan konektivitas data bisa didapatkan dari Bluetooth, serta Wi-Fi berbasis Intel 3168 Sandy Peak. Ini berbeda pada Prestige edisi khusus yang menggunakan Intel 9260 Windstrom Peak. Pada edisi khusus kemampuan menangkap sinyal WLAN jauh lebih baik karena memang disiapkan agar nyaman dipakai bermain game. Pilihan kartu grafisnya saja sudah, berbeda  menggunakan GTX 1050 untuk edisi khusus tersebut.
Saya melihat MSI mampu memaksimalkan ruang untuk port di MSI PS42 8RB ini. Meski terilhat slim, namun dengan ragam port yang ada, membuat pengguna bisa lebih leluasa memvariasikan gadget tambahan yang terpasang. Mouse, HDD external, sampai ponsel bisa dipasangkan sekaligus jika memang dibutuhkan melalui Prestige.
Fitur
Laptop bisnis pada kelas high-end biasanya tidak lepas mementingkan urusan keamanan. Salah satunya adalah dengan menerapkan sensor sidik jari. Di smartphone, fitur ini mungkin sudah biasa ditemukan bahkan di ponsel harga dua jutaan. Tapi untuk laptop, hanya kelas menengah ke atas yang memiliki fitur itu.
MSI PS42 8RB pun dilengkapi dengan sensor sidik jari yang tempatnya menyatu dengan touchpad. Didukung aplikasi Windows Hello, kamu bisa memasukan data sidik jari ke dalam sistem laptop. Keamanan sidik jari pun masih bisa dibuat berlapis menggunakan mode password atau PIN untuk mengakses sistem maupun aplikasi.
Selain fitur keamanan, fitur lain untuk kenyamanan juga tersedia. Pertama adalah backlight keyboard dengan LED putih yang bisa diatur tingkat kecerahannya. Memudahkan kamu jika hendak mengetik di tempat gelap  tapi belum hafal letak tiap fungsi keypad-nya.
Fitur lain datan untuk kebutuhan hiburan. Adalah speaker dari Nahimic 3 dengan jalur suara 7.1 untuk menambah kenyamanan telinga mendengar output suara dari laptop MSI PS42 8RB Prestige. Nahimic sendiri menawarkan mode music, gaming, movie, dan communication sesuai dengan pengaturan yang dimaksimalkan sesuai penggunaan.
Kinerja
Pada satu model laptop, terdiri atas beberapa spesifikasi berbeda. Itu wajar untuk menyiasati harga dan kebutuhan tiap orang yang berbeda. Untuk seri Prestige ini, MSI menyiapkan empat varian berbeda. Dan saya berkesempatan menjajal tipe yang bisa dikatakan menengah. Menggunakan prosesor Intel i5 Kabylake, kartu grafis Geforce MX150, GDDR5 2GB, memori RAM DDR IV 8GB, dan SSD 256 GB.
Sementara satu varian di bawahnya menggunakan grafis UMA, Unified Memory Architecture, alias kartu grafis yang teringrasi memanfaatkan memori RAM. Sedangkan dua varian di atasnya, sudah menggunakan otak Intel i7 Kabylake 8550U, dengan dua pilihan kartu grafis: GTX 1050 dan UMA. Memang yang biasanya menjadi acuan terletak pada basis prosesor dan kartu grafis yang digunakan.
Memang yang paling menonjol dari peningkatan performa sebuah laptop terbaru adalah pemanfaatan memori SSD yang tak membutuhkan piringan data dalam sistem kerjanya. SSD membantu proses kerja prosesor menjadi lebih signifikan dalam perkara booting maupun loading system.
Untuk kartu grafis tipe MX, dipilih agaknya untuk menghemat biaya produksi dan harga jual nantinya. Geforce MX sebenarnya menjadi alternatif bawah dari kartu grafis seri lain. Meski tidak maksimal untuk bermain game kelas berat tapi tetap lebih baik dibadingkan konsep UMA di varian lainnya. Membuat Prestige cukup untuk dipakai memainkan game agak lawas seperti GTA V atau Tomb Raider, misalnya.
Kinerja Prestige untuk bermain game turut didukung dengan desain arstitektur MSI yang selalu melengkapi produknya dengan sistem Cooler Boost 3.  Di dalam Prestige terdapat dual fans dengan tiga pipa untuk hardware-nya. Berpadu celah ventulasi yang mudah terlihat di bagian bawah cover atau di belakang keyboard, membuat Prestige aman dari bahaya overheat ketika gaming. Di sini, MSI seakan ingin mengaplikasikan pengalamannya dalam merancang laptop gaming.
Seluruh kemampuan kerja itu didukung kemampuan baterai 50 Whr Lithium-polymer, yang sanggup bertahan yang lama. MSI sendiri mengklaim pada penggunaan tertentu laptop ini mampu dipakai sampai 11,5 jam. Pemilihan fungsi kerja kartu grafis memegang peran di sini. Ketika memanfaatkan memori teringrasi (UMA) maka efisiensi lebih didapat dibandingkan menggunakan Geforce MX.
Kesimpulan
MSI memiliki pengalaman produk gaming yang kuat. Hal itu dibawa pada produk bisnis mereka yang satu ini. Beberapa fitur gaming seperti fitur pendinginan dan backlight yang bisa diatur kecerahannya menjadi sedikit bukti. Fitur yang justru makin membuat menarik laptop ini.
Model ramping dengan pilihan port yang beragam bisa menjadi sebuah opsi yang menarik. Tambahan lagi kelengkapan baterai yang memiliki  daya tahan hingga sepuluh jam makin mengukuhkan laptop ini tepat dipakai untuk bekerja secara mobile. Tak perlu sering membawa colokan charger.
Pada akhirnya, kamu yang lebih condong menjadikan laptop sebagai alat kerja kantoran, maka Prestige bisa jadi pilihan. Urusan gaming casual tetap bisa dicapai di sini. Bahkan bila kamu termasuk hardcore gamer bisa melirik varian tertingginya dengan GTX 1050.

Oeuffice. Laboratorio de investigación de objetos de edición limitada.
Oeuffice es una Oficina de Diseño fundada en 2011 como una colaboración entre los diseñadores canadienses Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte (Quebec, Canadá) y Jakub Zak (Westcoast, British Columbia, Canadá).
Jakub Zak estudió Diseño Industrial en el Instituto Emily Carr en Vancouver, así como en KHB Weissensee (Berlin Weissensee School of Art) en Berlín.
Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte estudió arquitectura en la Universidad de Montreal, luego en la IUAV (Università Iuav di Venezia) y también en KHB Weissensee en Berlín.
Jakub Zak, después de terminar sus estudios se trasladó a Milán, trabajando primero para las oficinas de Claudio y Mario Bellini, antes de irse al estudio de la diseñadora Patricia Urquiola, donde dirigió proyectos como diseñador senior.
En cuanto a Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, primero trabajó para el estudio de Thomas Demand en Berlín y también co-fundó el estudio Samare en Montreal (actuando como miembro itinerante) antes de trasladarse a Milán en 2007 para iniciar varios proyectos entre Italia y Oriente Medio.
Ambos volvieron a coincidir (habían estudiado juntos en Berlín) en 2010 durante la Feria del Mueble de Milán y descubrieron sus intereses comunes y que su visión del diseño se complementaba.
En 2011, decidieron asociarse combinando sus prácticas de diseño bajo el nombre Oeuffice y un ideal común de creación de objetos domésticos “inspirados en visiones de una utopía contemporánea“, como ellos mismos han descrito.
Oeuffice, es un nuevo laboratorio de investigación enfocado en el desarrollo de objetos innovadores de edición limitada.
Ambos anhelaban probar algo nuevo y experimental, independiente de sus respectivas ocupaciones. El estudio (Samare) de Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte llevaba ya tres años de crecimiento exitoso con un enfoque relativamente estrecho con la artesanía canadiense y el patrimonio.
Zak por su parte trabajaba a tiempo completo para Urquiola, “lo que era bastante exigente“, dice. “Llegas a una etapa en la que quieres empezar a hacer proyectos propios… Oeuffice es una colaboración dedicada a la investigación donde Nicolas y yo podemos jugar con nuevas técnicas y materiales que de otra manera no tendríamos la oportunidad de hacer“.
También ayudó a que en el momento en que comenzaron a trabajar juntos como Oeuffice, Lecompte estaba finalizando los planes para co-fundar la Galería Carwan en Beirut, lo que daba a la pareja la motivación de una fecha límite.
Su colaboración les ha ayudado a considerar el proceso creativo y a establecer fuertes objetivos de diseño. “Entre nosotros nos desafiamos y nos felicitamos a la vez. Tratamos de dividir ciertas responsabilidades basándonos en nuestras fortalezas y experiencias que han ayudado a equilibrar las demandas de encabezar una exitosa práctica creativa“.
Además, “trabajar conceptualmente como un equipo nos ha ayudado a desafiar la integridad de nuestro proyecto de investigación y desarrollo, trabajamos para refinar lo que emprendemos y ejecutarlo con las mejores técnicas y los mejores artesanos. A veces trabajar juntos ha traído nuevas e inesperadas soluciones que por nuestra cuenta habría sido difícil de descubrir o imposible de emprender“.
Las piezas de Oeuffice reflejan el amor de la pareja por el diseño arquitectónico y el deseo de llevarlo a una escala doméstica. Sus materiales favoritos son el acero, la madera, resinas, el mármol negro y el cobre.
“Nuestro trabajo está inspirado en la arquitectura, específicamente en la arquitectura que trata temas visionarios y/o utópicos, donde se celebra el paradigma… una arquitectura ideal y estrechamente ligada a su entorno, donde todo está bien proporcionado y en equilibrio. Generalmente admiramos la variedad y belleza que se oculta en todas las arquitecturas de los periodos más influyentes“.
“Hicimos investigaciones con todo, desde el Constructivismo ruso hasta las estructuras básicas que están en el centro de cualquier edificio”.
Así por ejemplo, la colección de taburetes, mesas y consolas “Kapital” (2014), de edición limitada y hechas a mano, se basan ​​en las formas esenciales que recuerdan a los primeros capiteles de piedra y conjuntos geométricos simples que se encuentran en la arquitectura clásica. Sus perfiles, proporciones y característicos detalles inspiraron estas obras de Oeuffice como una re-interpretación simplificada con un giro contemporáneo.
Sus estanterías y unidades de almacenamiento -“Laveer“, “Calico” y “Centina” Totems (2011)- concebidas como lugares para exhibir “artefactos personales de importancia” y producidas en los primeros años de Oeuffice, se basaron en una serie de inspiraciones, desde el “Racionalismo italiano y el tropicalismo brasileño” hasta su proclamado héroe personal, el artista Brian Jungen.
Otras influencias que reconocen son, por un lado su país de acogida, Italia, que “ha sido decisivo en nuestro trabajo por su rica historia arquitectónica, fuerte cultura de diseño, larga tradición artesanal, innovación industrial continua y atención cultural general al detalle“.
Y el otro factor muy influyente “es nuestro privilegio de viajar regularmente, ya sea por trabajo o por placer, para visitar varios países y participar en su cultura. Esta exposición continua realmente ayuda a estimular nuevas ideas y desafiar nuestras percepciones o expectativas“.
Con la colección de centros de mesa “Centerpieces-Milanes” (2013) Oeuffice decidió rendir homenaje a los momentos de sutil pulcritud arquitectónica re-interpretando los motivos urbanos de Milán. “Milán es una ciudad discreta y hermética en cuanto a arquitectura”, dice Nicolás. “Sin embargo, cuando prestas más atención, descubres cosas como puertas intrincadas, barandillas refinadas… “.
La colección se compone de tres modelos diferentes de latón, mármol negro y acero oxidado : un candelabro entrecruzado que se asemeja a las puertas ornamentales, un vaso abierto basado en sus balaustradas retorcidas y una porción que recuerda sus rejas de seguridad.
Durante su investigación de campo el dúo se sintió maravillado con la obra del arquitecto Piero Portaluppi (1888-1967).
“Portaluppi tenía obsesión por los detalles… es una de nuestras mayores inspiraciones“, dice Bellavance-Lecompte, que además construyó uno de los más famosos monumentos nacionales de Milán, la Villa Necchi Campiglio, donde diseñó todo, desde el mobiliario hasta los suelos de mármol multicolor.
La serie de mesas y taburetes “Pinac” (2015) son una sorprendente simplificación de las hendiduras naturales en los minerales prismáticos. Las mesas combinan una tapa de cristal de color, con una capacidad transparente y reflexiva, con la geometría fría de una base de aluminio angular.
Al caminar alrededor de los objetos “Pinac” se genera una nueva geometría y aparecen figuras combinadas con transparencias y diferentes tonos de color que refractan sobre la superficie de aluminio. La pureza de las formas evocan el movimiento del Arte minimal de los años 60’s-70’s.
Para Oeuffice, la edición limitada les permite trabajar de una manera más artística : experimentar con nuevos materiales, formas y técnicas no convencionales.
Desarrollar objetos únicos y poder ser libres de trabajar en estrecha colaboración con los artesanos en comisiones a medida en lugar de desarrollar productos para la producción en masa.
Su obra ha sido expuesta internacionalmente en varias galerías como Phillips de Pury en Londres; R20th en Nueva York; Galería Dimore en Milán y Carwan Gallery en Beirut.
