I have joined the society of bluetooth earphones
#refurbished for the record#i have been dragged kicking and screaming into the future#my phone doesn't have a headphone jack. my mp3 player does but it also has bluetooth capability. my ereader only has bluetooth for audio#so I figure since I'm going on the eclipse trip in a few months I should get some wireless buds for the train#went with some used skullcandy sesh because they were like twenty-two dollars had had a twenty hour battery life#I ALMOST went with some used Hesh headphones that looked really cool and had fifteen hours but were also forty-nine dollars#which combined with the other things I needed to buy would have put me thirteen dollars over my seventy-five dollar walmart giftcard#I was very tempted if just for the aesthetique~ but realized if I bought the cheaper earbuds I could have enough money for some instax film#and the cheaper earbuds and 2 pack of film plus the household objects I needed put me at a tidy seventy-four dollars and fifty-six cents#so I didn't have to spend any actual money on anything woot woot#the earbuds are blue. which is my favorite color. but they're like a pastel blue. which is like my least favorite shade of blue#ah well I'll sacrifice looks for function and affordability any day#*stares in slight dismay at hideously pink refurbished and thirty dollar instax mini 9*#what I REALLY wanted was some of those urbanista solar-powered headphones/earbuds#but even used/refurbished both were out of the total price range of the gift card(s)#I actually had two giftcards which together totaled seventy-five so that was pretty sweet

Hey y'all ever think about how fucked it is that only something like 0.5% of NYC's population has Native American ancestry?

With the introduction of a few more chasseaurs (since I made this post) and their respective titles, my brain started thinking about the Moh's Hardness Scale
This scale doesnt list Obsidion or Bloodstone which is a type of heliotrope, but the concept stands
Diamond (Charles) -> 10
Garnet (Astolfo) -> 6.5-7.5
Bloodstone (Gano) -> 7
Jasper (Roland) -> 6.5-7
Obsidion (Olivier) -> 5-5.5
I ranked these generally in terms of Moh's hardness since this may be a representstion of strength in the chasseaur ranks. Especially since its confirmed Commander Charles is of the Diamond seat which is the hardest mineral known to mankind (and I guess vampirekind.)
See also, now I wanna know the hardness of Astermite. Because I made a joke about Vanitas being of Astermite if he stayed in the chasseaurs, but now that I think about it there is a scene in Gevaudan where Chloé mentions how hard she tried to get the divine tear stone off the book to no avail BUT THE STONE DIDNT BREAK OR CHIP which means it must be a relatively hard stone.

Y’all, I’m exhausted.
My uncle passed away over the weekend, very early on Saturday morning, after a very brief but aggressive battle with cancer. From diagnosis to death was less than a week.
My mom and I have done everything in our power to be with my family as much as possible, and I am so thankful that I got to say my goodbyes and to be with them when he passed, and some portion of most every day since.
But between work, therapy, previously scheduled appointments, funeral arrangements, choir, etc. and just general grief, I feel like I haven’t slept in days. I’ve barely been eating (or had time to eat) let alone manage anything else in my life, and every time I think I might have a moment to lie down or do some laundry, something else comes up.
I am so ready and willing to do whatever is needed for my family right now, but I think I am reaching a bit of a personal breaking point.
#Thursday I worked from 8:30 to 4:30 then picked up my parents and drove forty minutes out to my aunt's to see him#we were there until after 11PM and didn't get to bed until 1 or so#the next day I worked from 8:30 to 1ish when my cousin called me and said they needed me at the house#so I dashed home picked up mom and drove out there#we were at their house until 7:30 or 8PM then went home#but we were called back shortly after because he became non responsive#we went back over there and sat up until 5AM or so before falling asleep in my cousin's bed#he passed away shortly after 7AM#we got up#I held my cousins for a while#eventually I did a coffee/food run#my mom and I called hospice and the funeral home and arranged all of that#we spent the day with them#I put on a crock pot meal and we stayed with them until dinner time or thereabouts#we told them to get some rest and call if they needed anything#we didn't eat all day#went home and crashed#Sunday I just felt sick all day and was crying off and on#Monday I worked from 8:30-3 and then went to a meeting with the funeral coordinators with my mom my aunt and my cousins#Tuesday I worked from 8:30 - 4:30 then had choir from 6 -9 then went to the store and showered#yesterday I worked from 8:30 to 12:45 then went home for a long lunch hour therapy appointment#went back to work from 2 to 5#took my dog to the vet at 5:30#went to my aunt's at 6:30#was there until after midnight#didn't eat#went home did dishes and took out recycling and had a quick shower#wrote the obituary#today they're touring a facility for the memorial but I can't take off work in the middle of the day so I'm not going to that#I'm working until 5 or so

talked to my dad on the phone tonight and he told me his first son/my late half brother who i never met's 19yo eldest child who i've also never met cause she grew up in new zealand before their family moved to the US came out as a tgirl a bit ago and now has just moved to melbourne for uni/can i get in touch and help her settle in type thing lol. technically she is my niece i guess which feels ridiculous like... sitcom ass situation

had the biggest kendall roy moment this morning i am still shaking
#the doors of the exam close at 9 and if you’re not seated at that point you’re not allowed in#i call the uber at 8am thinking yesterday it took like 20 min to get there#uber is ten minutes late to arrive#and then we immediately get stuck behind a dump truck on my narrow street that wasn’t moving to let anyone pass#we wait for ten to fifteen minutes and then i decide to just get out and ask the dump truck guy#he says it’ll be another THIRTY TO FORTY MINUTES#so i just politely apologize to the uber driver and hop out and run to a busy street and hail a cab#at this point it’s almost 8:30 in the middle of rush hour#thank god the cab driver was amazing and we got there at like 8:51#i ran in and took my seat and it was all okay#but ohhh my god !!!!!#it was SO CLOSE

you see it's actually very funny that two of my favorite indie games of all time decided to focus their final updates to a hardcore challenge crowd, and as a result have ridiculously inaccessible difficult endgames with exclusive story content locked behind tedious challenges that 95% of the playerbase will never complete. Deuteronomy 9: Moses Tells Israelites That Wicked Nations Will Be Destroyed Because Of Their Unrighteousness
1 Hear, Israel: You are now about to cross the Jordan to go in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities that have walls up to the sky.
2 The people are strong and tall—Anakites! You know about them and have heard it said: “Who can stand up against the Anakites?”
3 But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like a devouring fire. He will destroy them; he will subdue them before you. And you will drive them out and annihilate them quickly, as the Lord has promised you.
4 After the Lord your God has driven them out before you, do not say to yourself, “The Lord has brought me here to take possession of this land because of my righteousness.” No, it is on account of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is going to drive them out before you.
5 It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the Lord your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
6 Understand, then, that it is not because of your righteousness that the Lord your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stiff-necked people.
The Golden Calf
7 Remember this and never forget how you aroused the anger of the Lord your God in the wilderness. From the day you left Egypt until you arrived here, you have been rebellious against the Lord.
8 At Horeb you aroused the Lord’s wrath so that he was angry enough to destroy you.
9 When I went up on the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord had made with you, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water.
10 The Lord gave me two stone tablets inscribed by the finger of God. On them were all the commandments the Lord proclaimed to you on the mountain out of the fire, on the day of the assembly.
11 At the end of the forty days and forty nights, the Lord gave me the two stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant.
12 Then the Lord told me, “Go down from here at once, because your people whom you brought out of Egypt have become corrupt. They have turned away quickly from what I commanded them and have made an idol for themselves.”
13 And the Lord said to me, “I have seen this people, and they are a stiff-necked people indeed!
14 Let me alone, so that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven. And I will make you into a nation stronger and more numerous than they.”
15 So I turned and went down from the mountain while it was ablaze with fire. And the two tablets of the covenant were in my hands.
16 When I looked, I saw that you had sinned against the Lord your God; you had made for yourselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. You had turned aside quickly from the way that the Lord had commanded you.
17 So I took the two tablets and threw them out of my hands, breaking them to pieces before your eyes.
18 Then once again I fell prostrate before the Lord for forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water, because of all the sin you had committed, doing what was evil in the Lord’s sight and so arousing his anger.
19 I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.
20 And the Lord was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him, but at that time I prayed for Aaron too.
21 Also I took that sinful thing of yours, the calf you had made, and burned it in the fire. Then I crushed it and ground it to powder as fine as dust and threw the dust into a stream that flowed down the mountain.
22 You also made the Lord angry at Taberah, at Massah and at Kibroth Hattaavah.
23 And when the Lord sent you out from Kadesh Barnea, he said, “Go up and take possession of the land I have given you.” But you rebelled against the command of the Lord your God. You did not trust him or obey him.
24 You have been rebellious against the Lord ever since I have known you.
25 I lay prostrate before the Lord those forty days and forty nights because the Lord had said he would destroy you.
26 I prayed to the Lord and said, “Sovereign Lord, do not destroy your people, your own inheritance that you redeemed by your great power and brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
27 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Overlook the stubbornness of this people, their wickedness and their sin.
28 Otherwise, the country from which you brought us will say, ‘Because the Lord was not able to take them into the land he had promised them, and because he hated them, he brought them out to put them to death in the wilderness.’
29 But they are your people, your inheritance that you brought out by your great power and your outstretched arm.”
