Where did all the birds go?? by Debbie Meader
Via Flickr:
All of the birds that were feeding in our yard took flight or cover from the Juvenile Cooper's Hawk! The Coop landed on our railing for a brief rest on a very foggy morning. It was very queit with no birds singing or chattering, until the Coop left the area!

Clash of the Titans!!! by Debbie Meader
Via Flickr:
Miss Penelope, one of our female resident Anna’s Hummingbird is challenging the female Rufous Hummingbird perched in her favorite spot! After our Yucca Plants bloom, I leave a few of the stalks in our yard as the Hummingbirds love to perch on them. The feisty little Rufous chased Miss Penelope around the yard for about a minute. I had to laugh as they each perched on different stalks about 100 feet apart from each other, no one was on the favorite perch!
