Fake Fic asks: 🐝 Refraction
🐝 send me a fake fic title, and I’ll make up a summary for it!
Cisco doesn't know why he keeps dreaming of Barry - their patient in Star labs. Sure, it could be the guilt for what happened to him, and he's been spending a lot of his waking hours looking him up and talking to the man's family.
Barry sounds exactly like the sort of person Cisco would love to hang out with, but it doesn't explain why Cisco has such specific dreams of the two of them watching Star Trek and placing bets on who can eat the most Belly Burger nuggets (spoiler alert for himself: Barry always wins, the man is a bottomless pit).
It gets very worrying when the dreams slowly grow into strange, waking visions of Barry moving at superspeed, fighting a man in yellow, and into very creepy flashes of Doctor Wells standing over Barry's comatose body.
Cisco can't explain it, but he knows Barry is in very grave danger at Star labs and he's determined to save his future best-friend-maybe-something-else. He also really hopes Barry wakes up soon, because this will all be a lot to explain.
(In which Cisco gets his vibe powers before Barry wakes up from his coma. Set in the CW Flash show.)

@alittleflashvibe Merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy :)
Ficlet based on this ask
Warnings: vague sexual references, nothing explicit
Barry felt like he was on fire.
He wasn't, he knew that, but something had to be wrong because whatever the meta he'd been fighting had done made his normally already warm temperature unbearably hot and the first thing he did when he stumbled into the Cortex was change from the stifling leather Flash suit into the nearest t-shirt and jeans available. It didn't help. In moments it seemed, the gray S.T.A.R. labs shirt was nearly black, soaked through with sweat. God, why was it so hot?
"Barry? Is everything alright?"
Barry spun to face Dr. Wells, feeling light-headed, and when he tried to find the words to explain what was happening, he found that all his thoughts disappeared as quickly as they came.
"I...no. I don't think...something's wrong." He finished lamely. "Where's Caitlin?"
Dr. Wells frowned, giving Barry a concerned look over his glasses. "She's already left for the day. What happened?"
Barry tried to focus on Dr. Wells' words, but it was getting increasingly difficult with every passing second. He felt like his mind was foggy, like he couldn't think straight. He could feel his heart racing, his palms sweating, and his thoughts becoming more and more consumed with the man. He needed to leave before he did something stupid but he couldn't make his feet work.
"There was a meta...they did something but I-I don't know..." Barry tried to explain, his mouth dry.
Without realizing it, he'd moved closer to Dr. Wells. When had that happened?
"Are you hurt?" Dr. Wells' voice was gentle, but his eyes were sharp and assessing as he scanned Barry from head to toe. Barry was suddenly very aware that his jeans were growing increasingly uncomfortable.
"No, no, just...I can't think...maybe I have a fever?" There, those words made sense together and sort of explained what he was experiencing. The thick fog in his head only seemed to be increasing and words were getting harder and harder.
Dr. Wells nodded and wheeled towards the medbay.
"Come lie down, I'll have a look." He instructed calmly and Barry found himself following on autopilot.
Barry watched Dr. Wells, willing himself to listen and understand while the man checked his vitals and took his temperature, but every word seemed muffled and far away and he found himself staring at the older man's lips more than anything. He wanted to kiss them, to feel them on his own, to taste them - when had he moved closer? Dr. Wells didn't seem to mind and if Barry was in his right mind, perhaps he'd have found that weird. But right now, all he wanted was for Dr. Wells to kiss him.
Cisco's low whistle snapped him out of it and he whipped his head around to look at him as he crossed the room.
"That's a high number. You feeling okay, man?"
Barry...thought he'd answered but he couldn't be sure, he was far too busy staring at Cisco. Had he always been so pretty? Cisco and Dr. Wells spoke for a moment but Barry couldn't follow the conversation and all he got out of it was that Cisco was even prettier when he was frustrated. Dr. Wells wheeled out - to call Caitlin maybe? - and then it was just Barry and Cisco.
Barry needed to get out of here, before he did something he couldn't take back. He stood to leave but Cisco stopped him with a hand on his arm that only made the burning sensation worse. Cisco had opened his mouth to say something but before he could, Barry kissed him - so suddenly that Cisco almost stumbled backwards in his surprise.
Barry's eyes widened when he pulled back.
"Sorry, I...I don't know why I did that-" He started to explain but then his eyes met Cisco's and he couldn't stop himself from going back in for more. And more. And more.
Why wasn't Cisco stopping him? Why wasn't Cisco pushing him away and telling him that this was wrong and that he needed to stop? Then, Cisco seemed to regain his senses and moved away.
"Barry, you're not...yourself." He said carefully; Barry noticed he was slightly breathless and it only increased the heat in his stomach. "We should wait until you are."
'We should wait'. That wasn't a rejection like Barry had been expecting and the realization made his head spin. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. Cisco was probably just being kind.
"Right." Barry said, taking another deep breath to try and clear some of the fog from his head. "Right. We should wait."
He didn't want to wait though, it felt like if he didn't do something he'd burst into flames spontaneously.
"Maybe I should just go home." Barry said suddenly, wanting to get as far away from here as possible before he made another mistake.
"No way, dude, you're almost at 40 C. That's high even for you. You're gonna need to hang out for a bit until we know you're not gonna boil your brain." Cisco insisted and Barry could only nod in agreement.
"Okay, okay. I'll stay." He mumbled, feeling embarrassed and foolish for his actions but also unable to stop staring at Cisco.
"Good boy." Cisco teased and Barry bit the inside of his cheek hard to keep from letting out the most embarrassing sound of his life.
Cisco definitely did that on purpose; if he remembered later he'd have to get him back for it...somehow. But right now all Barry could think about was all the other ways he could get Cisco to praise him like that.

The two have a strong bond from the start of the show and faced some challanges. Do you prefer the pairing together romantically, see them more platonically or dont like to see the two togehter at all?

Guilty
1377 words
04/30/23
No one’s pov:
Cisco was sad in his relationship with Barry. No, it wasnt bad, but he felt guilty. Like really guilty.
Barry always got him gifts and presents of stuff that he never really talked about but always wanted. Like the action figure he got of him yesterday of the Flash. Or like those really cute red pare of googles that had cushions so his eyes wouldn’t hurt when he blew up stuff. And it was getting to the point where it was everyday. Sometimes small 5¢ or large 600$ things.
But it really was hurting him. Because he couldn’t give Barry anything back. He didn’t have as much money as Barry. Star Labs wasn’t paying him anymore, so he was starting to need money. Of course Barry gave him this money, not as a sugar daddy but as a concerned boyfriend, and it hurt that he couldn’t pay him back. That he wasn’t enough for Barry. So all he felt was guilt. And he decided to break it off with Barry, but he didn’t know how. So in the mean time, he was avoiding him, ignoring him. And one really late night he went to their favorite bar to drink it off and…
“Barry?” Cisco asked doubting his eyesight for a second. And there a drunken Barry sat, sprawled in the counter of a stool, drink in hand.
“I think I finally found out how to get drunk!” Barry said as he wobbly got up. Cisco caught him, seating him back down on the stool. He went in Barry’s wallet, pulling out two hundreds, assuming that’s how much he drank, saying that he was drunk. Cisco placed the hundreds on the counter as the bartender went into the cash register.
“80$ change.” He said slapping the money down. Cisco took the money and put it back in his boyfriends wallet before chug-a-lugging him to his car and driving him to his apartment. He chug-a-lugged Barry up to his apartment, and placed him in his bed. Barry had fallen asleep by this time and woken up as they walked in the apartment.
“Cisco?” He asked as he rubbed his eyes. Cisco had been kneeling along side the bed, watching him sleep as he placed down the clothes for Barry when he woke up.
“Yeah. Yeah I’m here Barry.” Cisco said back, hesitantly. Barry took his hands off his eyes and cupped Cisco’s face.
“I missed you.” Barry said, with angel like eyes. Cisco pulled his hand down, tears forming in his eyes as the guilt rushed back into his head.
“I know.” Cisco said softly, holding Barry’s hand in between his own.
“What happened?” Barry said softly, “you had me worried. I went out drinking every night I-“ he continued.
“Bare. Bare! BARRY!” Cisco said as Barry rambled. Barry finally caught his attention and stopped talking.
“I think we should break up.” Cisco continued, placing Barry’s hand back on top his body.
“W-what why?” Barry asked quickly sitting up.
“Because you give me all the gifts and money and… it’s just not enough.” Cisco replied, slowly saying the last part.
“If it’s not enough you could have just said something.” Barry said cupping Cisco’s face again.
“No Bare-“ Cisco said but was cut off by a rushed kiss. Barry kissed Cisco roughly, Cisco slowly submitting. Barry’s hand crept up to his hair, forcing him to keep his mouth their. Cisco did before pulling back as hard as he could. Barry pulled back too, loosening but not fully letting how of his hair.
“What- what’s wrong- isn’t that what you want?” Barry asked as tears formed in his eyes.
“No- it’s not enough-“ Cisco said to himself.
“Well-w-we were gonna get to that“ Barry said with a smug smile.
“No it’s still not enough. IM NOT ENOUGH!” Cisco said suddenly, tears falling down his eyes.
“IM NOT ENOUGH- ILL NEVER BE ENOUGH!” Cisco yelled at Barry. Barry looked up at him, his eyes widening as he realized that, he was the problem, well in his mind.
“You get me all these gifts! You love me so well but I can’t repay! I can’t give you all the stuff you give me!” Cisco cried as his tears took him over.
“And I love you too much to let you have that life.” Cisco said in a softer voice. He paced back and forth, hands creeping to his hair, shaking as they held it up, tears falling down his face as he awaited a response. Suddenly he stopped infront of where Barry was sitting, having had enough.
“Well?” Cisco started waiting for a response, waiting for Barry to tell him get out, or to get up and slap him across the face, “ANSWER ME DAMMIT!” Cisco said his voice breaking again.
“I’m sorry.” A broken hearted Barry said, tears falling down his face. His voice was shaky and broken and honestly, it hurt to hear. Cisco flinched at the sudden change in tone.
“What?” Cisco said softly, his tears almost immediately stopping as he realized that Barry was crying too. Actually sobbing uncontrollably.
“I said I’m sorry. I thought showering you with gifts would make you happy..” Barry rambled as tears fell down his face. His breathing sped up and it seemed that he was on the verge of an anxiety attack.
“No- no- hey.” Cisco said kneeling down before Barry and grabbing the wrists that were holding Barry’s head up. He looked into his sad eyes, watching the tears rush out of his eyes, as if all the water stored in his body just decided to burst out right then and there. He watched as more tears fell. He couldn’t even speak.
So he just hugged Barry. He hugged Barry as if the world would end if he let go. They stayed like that for hours. After a while, Cisco just got in bed and told Barry to cuddle his waist and cry for as long as he needed to, because truthfully he had knees like an old man.
After a few hours, their sobs turned into cries, their cries turned into hiccup-y breaths, which turned into slowed, paced breaths. The both laid their all through it, neither daring to move an inch. Cisco rubbed circles on Barry’s back. Barry wrapped his arms around Cisco for dear life, his head resting on his stomach.
“I’m sorry, again.” Barry blurted breaking the comfortable silence.
“It’s not your fault I promis-“ Cisco started, but was cut off by Barry.
“No it really is. I really didn’t mean to make you feel that way.” Barry cut off.
“No it’s fine.” Cisco said trying to reassure Barry.
“No it really isn’t. I thought that showering you with gifts would make you never leave. I thought that even if you stopped loving me, you would never leave me because is some twisted way you needed the money. But instead I made you want to leave me even more.” Barry joked, on the middle part (kinda), before his voice started to crack on the last part.
“But seriously I could never imagine feeling like that. Like you weren’t good enough because you couldn’t give your partner all the stuff they wanted.” Barry stated crawling up to kiss Cisco softly.
“It’s fine Bare I promise. I was just in this depressive state of mind that made me think I wasn’t good enough.” Cisco said as Barry pulled away.
“No! STOP INVALIDATING YOUR FEELINGS! YOU DESERVE FEELINGS TOO, WHATEVER THEY ARE.” Barry yelled suddenly cupping his lover’s face and looking him in the eyes, forcing him to do the same.
“Cisco I don’t think I told you this but, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. YOU’RE GOOD ENOUGH. THAT MEANS THAT ALL OF YOUR FEELINGS MATTER. THAT MEANS THAT DEPRESSIVE STATES OF MINDS AREN’T SOMETHING TO BRUSH BY. OKAY? DO YOU HEAR ME?” Barry continued holding Cisco’s face in between his hands and not letting go until he got an answer.
“Yeah. I hear you, I’m sorry, it wasn’t ‘just some depressive state of mind’ it was something bad and we need to work on that.” Cisco replied, holding Barry’s hands on his face so he wouldn’t let go. This forceful touch was actually comforting.
“Thank you, and yes we need to work on that. I can’t have my baby feeling bad about himself. And don’t apologize, sometimes you can’t help it.” Barry replied pressing his forehead against Cisco’s.

22, 23, 26, and 27 for the ask game! :)
22. Popular character you hate?
Kylo Ren. His redemption was poorly done, and…yes, he should’ve lived, but not for some awful romance plotline. He should’ve lived so that he could do the hard work of atoning.
Or they should’ve gone full-fledged villain with him. Because…they were going for Vader parallels, but they did NOT stick the landing at all.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Nora West-Allen! I understand the criticisms about her, which is why I only write her around the age of 18 (since imo that’s what she should’ve been), and there are some inconsistencies in what she knows about Thawne, but aside from that…idk I found her compelling and I love the Westallen family 🥰
(I also think she’s great in s7, even if I hated the Godspeed arc and that season as a whole)
26. Most shippable character?
Probably Iris honestly, she’s shippable with a bunch of characters 😂 notably Barry, Eddie, Kendra, and Caitlin!
Cisco’s also pretty shippable: Barry, Cynthia, Kendra, Kamilla (even Lisa, if you’re so inclined)
27. Least shippable character?
There’s a few that could fall into this category (Azula, Ozai, etc), but definitely Thawne. The thing he had with Meena in s8 was sweet, but they had to turn him very OOC to make it work, and we only knew this version of Thawne for an episode or two, so it wasn’t even enough time to get attached to them.
salty ask game!

still for the shippy ask game, i'm always scared of asking, and i hope it's okay that i'm sending a second ask and mentioning my own otp, but rate Barrisco from 1-10 and explain why? if you don't mind?
That’s totally okay! I love asks, And don’t worry I’m the same way when it comes to putting asks in people’s askbox.
I’d put it at a 7/10 because as much as I love them together and their dynamic, I haven’t watched the flash in a while/ have just started on episode and thus haven’t gotten to really get into their dynamic.
(Off topic I love how when Cisco was talking about the suit holding and Caitlin was concerned that Barry wouldn’t, Cisco says “He can do it. I know he can do it.” Because Sure Cisco, and Caitlin, have been taking care of him for nine months but they haven’t gotten to actually know him. Cisco believed in Barry long before he got to know the guy. Again that’s just my analysis)
From this ask game! (Send me an ask and I’ll try to answer the best I can, if you want.)

Old Scars, Fresh Wounds
Flashvibe drabble set in Season 2 Episode 23: The Race of His Life
Pairing: Barry x Cisco
Tumblr media
"Have you never worked with a tool before?"
"I'm working with one now," Cisco sniped at Harry, releasing another strap from the mask their mystery speedster was wearing.
He should have been in a better mood. After all, they had just defeated Zoom and saved the multiverse, but somehow it didn't feel like a win. Barry's dad was dead. Cisco had held Barry every night as he cried and fidgeted from nightmares. He'd been frightened by the deadened look in his boyfriend's eyes. Then there was the guilt of locking him in the pipeline. The look Barry had given him was enough to put him to his knees. It ached in his chest like the phantom vibrating hand. Cisco knew that defeating Zoom would do little to take Barry's pain away.
Cisco jumped a little as the mask sprang open under his hands. He and Harry shared a look before pulling the mask over the speedster's head. Once he saw the speedster's face, Cisco felt as though all the air had been sucked from his lungs. He couldn't even hear what the man was saying over the frantic thoughts in his head.
"Crap," he muttered. He watched helplessly as Barry turned. He was across the room, and his father's doppelganger was between them. Cisco wished he was closer. He wanted to throw a hand over Barry's eyes and drag him out of the Cortex so he would never have to know. The look on Barry’s face twisted something in Cisco. His helpless eyes followed Barry out of the room.
"I'll go," Cisco told Joe. Joe looked as startled as Cisco felt.
Barry was just in the hallway. He hadn't run off as Cisco had feared. He was leaning heavily against the wall. Cisco, unsure if Barry was still angry with him, placed a hand on his waist.
"Bar-" he started but was cut off by Barry throwing his arms around him and sobbing in his shoulder. Cisco sighed. As much as it pained him, this was a Barry he could handle. Angry Barry was difficult. Distant Barry was impossible. But Sad Barry. Sad Barry Cisco could do. He could hold Sad Barry. He could run his fingers through his hair, and ignore the world, even as it crumbled around them, until his speedster was ready to face it again.
"His name is Garrick. I should have-I didn't," Barry babbled into his shoulder. Cisco shushed him. They stayed like that for a few minutes before Barry straightened up, sniffling and brushing the tears off his face.
"You don't have to go back in there," Cisco said, "You can wait in my workshop or meet me at home. I'll breach him back to his earth and come back to you." Barry shook his head.
"I'm good. I just need a few minutes." Cisco knew he was far from good, but he nodded and gave Barry his space.

Old Friends
Part of Iris had always known she would one day meet a young and star-struck Eobard Thawne and she wouldn't be able to be who he wanted her to be.
She should have realised it was always going to be April 2024 [Part of The Flash & Hawkgirl] (T, 11.6k words)
The Flash (TV 2014)
[Iris West, Kendra Saunders], [Cisco Ramon, Barry Allen], Eobard Thawne, Zari Tomaz, Rip Hunter, Eobard Thawne, Ensemble
Major Character Death
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Role Reversal, Iris West is The Flash, One-sided Iris West/Eobard Thawne, Creepy Eobard Thawne, Multiple Timelines
June, 2041
Going to Central was a mistake. Zari was sure. Central City was where all this had started. It was still where A.R.G.U.S. had the highest presence.
Still where they faced most resistance, according to Behrad. The Gem Cities hadn’t given up on the Flash returning yet.
They should. She was long gone. There was no one who could face A.R.G.U.S.

A Barrisco thought for you:
We’ve all heard of the evil power duo that is Savitar x Reverb…but what about Savitar x Echo 👀
Savitar is trapped in an endless loop he can’t escape, filled with anger and pain and jealousy of Barry Allen, and Echo has the power to rewrite fortunes and give unfortunate souls better lives…and also they’re Barry and Cisco, they’re drawn to each other. There’s something here, I can feel it
ooooooooooooh wait yes I love this you're onto something for sure!!!!
