I think maybe the localization for nirvana initiative owes the fanbase an apology for not translating names of the chapters for the butterfly dreams route 1 to 1 because now you just have 100000000000000000 people still convinced that "ryuki diverge" is the real true secret final ending because they dont know what its. like. called. and thus like. what it means.

When talking to Shigure in chapter R4 she (as a hologram) talks about Zhuangzi's Butterfly dream. He has a dream where he's a butterfly happily fluttering through the air, and then wakes back up as himself. It's a question, as she says, “Was his being a butterfly a dream…? Or is the world he awoke in a dream?”

This is deliberately called back to in the route itself. The last lines of the game EVER said are from Shigure calling back to it, "The boundary that divides the real and unreal is ambiguous. It's all a butterfly dream. Perhaps you are that butterfly...fluttering as the wind carries you through the air."

Like...it's so obviously thematic!! It's a question!! WHAT IS REAL!! Yes, it answers a lot about her motivations, but it's like...not the final ending it's a THESIS STATEMENT ABOUT THE WORK AS A WHOLE. It ties everything together despite the fact it's allegedly about tearing it to shreds. It's not meant to be understood in terms of like. "real true canon timeline" or whatever it literally comes to being because it breaks the whole flowchart I can't believe this is an argument--

i think overall the localization did a pretty good job but like. this one feels pretty egregious to me.
