The guys are younger in this than the movie. The gif search is more of a dumpster fire than last year (esp Charlie it’s all charlie with crack ships 😭) so I gave up searching for the exact gifs I wanted. These are close enough. Gif credit to gif makers.

Will and Benny POV

This could be bullshit.

They wouldn’t be surprised.

Within three months the Miller family as they knew it fell apart.

They were the family with the nice big house, military father, a room full of awards, everything had its place. Who would have known the man who freaked when his sons' misplaced things created the biggest mess of all.

Their father has always been a hard man, closed off, lacking affection. Thankfully the household wasn’t totally absent from it. Mom was reserved too, but softer. She’d give hugs and encouraging smiles. The most affectionate of all, the most open was their grandma.

It’s one of the many reasons the brothers got so close and depended on each other. Without that, things would have been a lot lonelier.

Their father worked a lot, often off on missions and spending lots of time away from home. The older they got, the more it seemed he didn’t want to be there. Maybe in reaction to that, their mother started to shut down too.

When it was time for Will to leave the house, he didn’t want to leave Benny behind, but it was time. Benny was still in High school then.

Their father was always a mystery, a man who barely showed emotions outside of his anger, a trait he unfortunately passed down to them both.

Because he was so closed off, Will figured he had some skeletons in his closet, he also wondered if his father was always this way or not.

Of all the secrets he could imagine, this wasn’t one of them. They have a younger brother. He’s closer to Benny in age than Will and grew up in Detroit.

It was hard to get the full story. And Will's mother fully shut down once it came out. She clearly didn’t know either.

From what Will could gather, their brother was with his birth mother until age 7 or 8. A woman his father had an affair with. The kid somehow ended up in foster care and was eventually cared for by a woman named Evelyn.

“Are you ready for this?”

Benny asked, he’s seated in the passenger seat and staring right at Will.

“I don’t know,” Will gripped the steering wheel tighter as he shook his head.

Please read this oneI don’t usually write reviews but the experience me and my wife had is unbelievable My wife was in a car wreck on 1-24-15 and hurt her back but still wanted to see a movie for Valentine’s day 2-14-15 so I got the tickets and went I asked the lady at the door if my wife could Just sit on bench until movie time and she got a bad attitude problem with me so I asked to see The manager she came out and I told her about the problem she seemed like she didnt care at all. But she finally let my wife sit then all we heard was laughing and giggling from them made my wife feel very bad and very uncomfortable we left and won’t be back ever.By the way me and my daughter usually go to the movies there at least once a week sometimes twice a week and have been going there for almost four years now and the guy’s that work there on the weekdays are great very kind and never any Problems at all.

Was happy with the pricing of the movies here. First run movies at discounted prices. The theaters are small, but comfortable. I first saw a movie here in 1987 and it hasnt changed much, except the technology.What disappointed me were the lights that never turn off and when the movie starts nobody closes the doors (I went to the back and closed the doors myself, nothing I could do about the lights). How can one really enjoy a movie theater experience with lights in the ceiling shining down in your eyes.I came here for 3D, because ONLY the Dolby Digital 3D works for me, the crappy RealD 3D doesnt work nearly as well. Then as it turned out the movie I wanted to see was not being shown in 3D at all.I would go back again, but probably sit more towards the front away from the spotlights and open doors.

This place and staff has always given me a pleasurable experience and have gone on various days and times for the last 5yrs Even going during regular hours/days but frequent the senior/family days & hours. Been there during peak hrs & always someone at doors ready to go in and clean soon as a movie is over. Cant go to the Regals or Edwards and the like for top movies popcorn and drinks for the same price or less than what others charge just to get in the doors! Too bad Steve Crow had a bad experience, I have never seen or heard of such a thing all the times Ive gone. Im even greeted & asked where my friend is when I go alone. And acknowledged when Ive not been seen for awhile! Local theaters always best over commercial places anytime!

I see a lot of people complaining about the employees and the seats and screens. Download blackberry handheld software for 8520. I have never had a problem with any of the employees. They arent really friendly, but have never been rude to me or any of my kids. Sure it s small, but for the value, worth it for me. We could never afford to see a movie otherwise. If you get their saver card, you get a free ticket for every four you buy, even on family night. Plus you get free popcorn and free refills on popcorn and soda. Tip..go early in family nights, you will be in line for a bit, and it will fill up.

Dont be fooled by the price and Starlight brand. This place has almost nothing else in common with other Starlights. No reserved seating. No seats in the center (aisle runs down the middle). Small, dim screen. But the other Starlights (Triangle Square in Costa Mesa, Cinema City in Anaheim) have identical pricing and feature reserved seating, center seats, and larger screens, as well as having more total screens, more seats per screen, and nicer aesthetics. Go to those ones if possible. Those actually deserve the '4 Star' nomenclature.

Hate it. We came to watch sherlock holmes and half way through my lady went to use the restrooms and got kicked out cause the management said she was trying to jump movies. she had the ticket stub and she wasnt trying to jump movie.. she waited out side in the cold. while i was waiting for her to return. finally i went out side to look for her and i was very shocked to find out what had happened.. Never again will we ever come here again. Go some where else management seemed racist..

I go to this theater almost exclusively esp so that we could go bowling before or after a movie: $7 refillable (one time before the movie ends) popcorn, clean theater, good sound system, friendly staff. Prices are catching up to that of UA and Regency..$9/adult is more than at some other places; so we are pulling the reins a tad. Maybe it pays to be a frequent movie pass goer..then again, we should head out to the state parks and outdoors more. Head out and shape up, America!

i think this is a fantastic bargain to go to the movies in these most difficult of times. the popcorn is great ..the seating is good and the value is fabulous. we try to make it every Tuesday. i found the employees to be professional and courtesy so i suppose everyone has there opinion and mine is that keep the price low and the audiences will come. thanks.

The movie industry is my passion. When I was a teen I loved going to the cinema. This place is comfy, small and a great place to take out your girlfriend. However last time my girlfriend and I went everything was just dirty. Spit bubble gums, popcorn and smelly restrooms. Not a romantic experience at all. I hope they take some actions!

Is this as fancy as Bella Terra? No. But as far as a discount theater is concerned, this is a definite 5 star theater! Everyone has been nothing but polite and friendly. Only 4 movies at a time but, for the price, im willing to wait a while until they change the options! And any theater with $1 hot dogs is fine by me.

Absolutely love this theater, $6 Tuesday, Thursdays, and Sundays every week are an excellent value. Though it may not be as large as the bigger theaters, the movie viewing experience is still very enjoyable, especially given the price. The employees are friendly and the popcorn is delicious

Considering that it is a 4 screen theater with regular old school seating, it is nice. The floors arent sticky, the seats arent broken, the restrooms are clean and most importantly..very nice staff. Great place to take my family especially since we are on a very tight budget.

Wir sind die Könige - VIII.

5 years earlier.

Aph stood up from her airplane seat, after a few people had already gotten off the plane. She put on the beanie on her short blonde hair, and after collecting her carry-on she got out and dove herself in the German fall weather.

She instinctively smiled, happy to have come home. Slowly walking at the arrival part of Tegel airport, she called herself a cab and decided to be treated like the goddess she was. Aph deserved it, after what was going on.

It didn't take long to arrive at the familiar building she had learned to love so much. It was a dismissed electricity central, that had been turned into a design lover's dream. She got out the cab, looking around and loving to be in Berlin again after all these months in New York. She had gotten used to love the USA, her small studio apartment in Queens, the dream she was starting to build to help the men and the women she loved so dearly. But yet, no place in her heart was quite like Berlin.

"Fräulein Aphrodite!" The doorman greeted her, and then helped her to carry her suitcase. "Es ist so gut um dir noch mal zu sehen. Herzlich wilkommen." Aph left a kiss on the doorman's cheek.

"Danke, Udo." she replied. "I am afraid my German needs to be polished a bit." The doorman laughed, and opened the door for her.

"Shall I call..."

"No," Aph added very quickly. "I want to go upstairs on my own. It's a surprise, nobody knows I'm here." Udo smiled back under his grey moustache.

"Gut. Dann, you can go upstairs and nobody will hear a thing." At the same moment, from the rehearsal room came a thundering sound, made of heavy guitars and a very powerful drums rhythm. Aph smiled from ear to ear. Rammstein was playing, and there was no better sound in the world.

The doorman showed her to the elevator, and they both entered. Aph looked at herself. She adjusted a tuft of hair on her forehead, and smoothed down her beige coat. She surely looked more tired since the last time she had seen him. Yet, she had known him for so many years - or better, centuries, - that she was sure he would appreciated the sight of her face in any condition.

The elevator doors opened, and with her heart bumping like crazy in her chest, she stepped out. Following the music, she walked towards the door where she could hear it louder, and taking a deep breath, she opened it by pushing on the handle. Everything seemed to move in slow motion. The door opened, and one by one she caught sight of all of them.

Like magic, almost as if they knew that Aph was coming, they had stopped playing. Doom, sitting behind the drums, let down the drumsticks to pick up a bottle of water. Paul, sitting cross-legged on his huge amplifier, who still bobbed his head to the rhythm in his mind. Then there was Oliver, sweet Oliver, that was cleaning his reading glasses with a hem of his shirt, as his bass guitar was still hanging from his tall figure. Flake, drinking coffee from a cup that had drawn Batman on it. Till, with the microphone between his teeth, too focused on his lyrics, that kept on scribbling down on a Moleskine.

Her eyes, almost moved by the emotion of seeing them all again, enjoyed the sensation of peace and deep affection that they all woke up in her heart. Until…

"Is it...is it a dream? Am I awake?"

His voice. Aph’s lips curved into the most beautiful smile ever. She couldn’t even turn around completely that she already had Richard’s hands take her face and passionately pull it in for a kiss. First, he left one on her forehead. ‘He knows I love it.’ Then, he kissed her lips, not before smiling at her. Richard. Ares. It didn’t really matter to her. The scruff on his cheeks and his jaws gently tickled her. His dark hair was all spiked up, as usual. He was wearing a simple grey sweatshirt, and despite looking tired – Aph could tell that he had been working a lot, - he was terribly handsome. As ever. And it was always incredible to get back to him.

“Aph!” Paul stood up, and went to hug her. Richard snorted at the fact that he had momentarily pulled her away from him. Yet, he smiled at the scene with arms crossed.

“Hey.” She replied, hugging him tight. “Hello everybody. Missed me?” Aph waved at the other members of the band – and of her family, - and they all looked genuinely happy to see her.

“Hi beautiful.” Till spoke. He was massive, and huge. Elegant. Aph went up to him, and hugged him as well. Till held her close for a moment, before she went on saying hi to all the others.

“Have you…?” Flake whispered to her ear.

“Shush.” Aph said to him, so low that no one could hear her. Flake bit his lower lip, and smiled. It was a huge, naughty smile, of someone that knew something that should be kept secret. “Be a good boy.” She added, to which Flake laughed.

“You look radiant, by the way.” Flake said, leaving another kiss on her temple.

“Enough with the secrets.” Richard said. “Have a seat, babe. How was your flight?” Aph let down herself on the comfortable leather couch next to Oliver. The tall man offered her a bottle of beer, taking it out of the small fridge on the side of the sofa. Aph pulled up her hand, in a gesture that meant that she didn’t want one.

“Thanks Oli, but not now.” Aph continued. “The flight was not bad. I’m just terribly hungry.” Richard caressed the top of her head, then leant in to leave another gentle kiss on her. He couldn’t help it, he couldn’t help but being drawn to her. Her jeans ripped in some points on her thighs, the striped white a blue shirt that hid the morbid curves of her breasts, the small freckles on her nose, that were usually more visible during the summer…when Aphrodite was in the room, there was no hope for anybody. She was the center of his everything. So much, that he found himself almost staring at her. “Richard?”

“…Ja?”

“Alles gut?”

“Ja.” He added. “Alles gut.” Flake, from the end of the room, looked at the scene. He wasn’t a man – or God, - that used to have so negative thoughts, despite being the God of the Underworld. In that moment, Flake was experiencing one of the most beautiful feelings: hope. And he got that just by looking at Aph and Richard, watching as they interacted, as their hands touched each other, as they created their magic.

“You know something. Don’t you?” Doom said to Flake. Flake took off his glasses, and polished them with the hem of his button up plaid shirt.

“The time will come.”

“I hate when you say these spooky-God-of-death-and-life things…” Doom replied, with a small laugh.

“Let’s go eat something.” Paul looked for consense all around the rehearsal room.

“Something greasy. And with potatoes.” Aph, excited like a little kid, pointed at Paul. He winked at her, and started collecting his things, putting away his black ESP guitar.

“We know just the spot.” Oliver added. He high fived with Aph, and Richard let a laugh out.

After a while, they were sitting at the tables of one of the most famous hamburger den in Berlin. Till knew the owner, and he had made sure that the place had been reserved for them only, so that they could have some peace. Aph was sitting at the wooden table, between Richard and Paul. She cleaned the edge of her mouth with the back of her hand, as a drop of homemade mayonaise was going down on her chin.

“Whatever this thing is, I want another one.” She added, as she kept on eating. Richard put the tip of his index finger in the small cup of barbecue sauce in front of them, and gently pushed it on Aph’s nose. Paul laughed as he finished his first hamburger, before standing up to order another one.

“Mein kleines, hungriges Mädchen.” He replied to her, as the others watched the scene, amused.

“Let her be, airplane food is awful.” Till justified her. “It makes you even hungrier.” Aph nodded, and after cleaning her nose she dipped her finger in the sauce as well; she slid it on Richard’s face, from between the nose and downwards.

“Thanks, Till.” She said, with a chuckle. Richard stood still for a minute, with a stupid, cute smile on his face. He then grabbed a paper towel, and cleaned his face.

Aph took a moment to glance at the men sitting with them. They had been together since the dawn of time, literally. Getting adjusted to life in the mortal world hadn’t been easy, that was for sure. Thanks to Paul’s help – who knew humans better than most Gods, - they had made it. All of them had created a nice, happy life on that corner of the Universe. They had families, they had kids. Some of them, had kids and didn’t even know it – just like in the old mythology books. It was so good being one of ‘them’. She istinctively brushed her hand on her belly, and looked straight into Flake’s eyes. Hades touched her hand under the table, for a brief moment. Almost as if he wanted to tell her ‘you can do it’. Aph then waited for Paul to come back to the table, and then cleared her throat.

“Ah, plane cough. I hate it.” Richard said, as he patted her on her back.

“No, Reesh. I just wanteed to gather attention from everybody.” Aph added, putting down her hamburger. The guys looked at her, expecting. Cars kept on passing by, the U-Bahn was just stopping by the station above their heads. Doom looked at Flake, once again. Oliver looked at Paul in an expression that meant ‘So what?’. Richard, of course, was the most focused.

“I discovered it about…”

“…two months ago.” Flake pointed out. He couldn’t hold it in anymore. Richard immediately looked at Flake, puzzled.

“Thanks, Flake.” Aph rolled her eyes.

“At least tell me if it’s something good or-“

“Good. The best, actually.” Aph put a hand on Richard’s mouth, so he would finally shut up. Then she took a deep breath. “You’re…you’re becoming a father, Richard.” She took his hand, and placed it on her belly. Richard let his jaw fall open, incapable of letting out any sound. Everything seemed to be muffled up, like they were in a cloud.

“Das war so schwer.” Flake sighed, then widened his long arms and went to hug both Richard and Aph. “Congratulations you two!” Paul almost coughed out the hamburger mouthful because of the happiness he was feeling. Oliver just felt like applauding, and joined the others for the hug.

“That’s a huge step.” Till commented, not without a smile on his face. “But it will be one of the best steps you can take, that I can assure you.” Aph smiled back at Till, and thanked him silently. He was one that she always liked to count on. And she knew how he was always there. He had always been, actually.

“It will be so nice to have another little one around.” Doom said, as he got closer to Aph and left a kiss on her temple. “Richard?”

“Love?”

The combination of Aph and Doom’s voice brought him back to reality. Being as delicate as he could be, he squeezed Aph’s hand, and brushed the tip of his fingers on her belly.

“It’s real, Richard.” Aph whispered to his ear. “It’s absolutely real.” She caressed his face, almost as if she wanted to reassure him. Richard felt his eyes fill with tears. Tears of the most incontrollable happiness. He leant his face in the space between her shoulder and her neck, and closed his eyes.

“I love you, Aph. This is going to be the biggest challenge of my immortal life.”

“I know.” She added, as she left a kiss on his forehead. “Have a drink on me, everybody.” Aph grabbed her glass of lemon water, and held it up. The others held up their hands, their fingers wrapped around their beers.

“To life.” Flake proposed.

“To life.” All of them repeated.

As they all toasted, Richard felt a shiver cross his back. He looked around, and it seemed to him that there was somebody staring at him. It wasn’t a pleasant sensation. Yet, he shook it off very quickly. He wrapped both of his arms around Aph’s chest, and said to her ear, once again, that he loved her. He said it so many times, almost as if he wanted to kick away the unpleasant moment he had just lived.

Jottings for Final Essay

Kuma Ani - 6PM Street parking, in Albany so not that much space I don’t even see the place on the way in Small sign Seems like you have to know about the place to think about going there Walk in, we made reservations Less than 3 mins, get sat at table Wooden table with decorative pillows on it Meant to seat many, there were 3 or 4 of these wrap around booth things Booths also made of wood Place felt sorta like noah’s ark to me Ambient music playing, easy listening music, soft volume Sushi chefs behind bar, always busy 3 chefs, very concentrated Chalkboard mural on back wall Glass divider so people at bar can see sushi being prepared Not many other people in with us One group of asian girls probably in their late 20s Group of kids who probably go to college nearby, I see greek letters on one guy’s sweatshirt. Waitress comes over with menus, asks what we want to drink Menu isn’t normal menu, all you can eat but made to order $20.99 for all you can eat, pay per piece uneaten From my perspective, you could see this as a challenge. Leave no piece on the table. Definitely not a place you’d go alone We circle the items we want and when the waitress comes back, we give the sheet to her Interesting style of service, multiple servings also welcomed She initially gave us 3 sheets for ordering, 4 people at the table Sit around, watch sushi being made, talk about each other’s days People walking by on the way to the bathroom, I notice it’s mostly asian and white people here. Moderate price tag, might cater to the middle class Older white man sitting at bar, drink in hand (can’t tell what he’s drinking) Looks like he comes here often I can see other people in the waiting area Aside from the wooden booths there are also a few tables for 2 Everything is full Young family is in waiting area, toddler son walking around, walks by us Sushi comes out on wooden boat Grandiose Looks like others don’t always get boats Only at a certain amount of sushi Different types of sushi are separated out on different sections of the boat We each have a dish that we can pour soy sauce into, soy sauce bottle is on the table We eat with chopsticks, no other silverware is provided (obviously) Once toward the end of the first round, we try and decide what we want next Fill out another card, with almost as much as before Give to waitress I notice she’s not stopping by our table too often, but it’s probably already pretty clear whether or not we are done, we kinda just wait till she’s nearby and ask her to take our next card Sitting around waiting again Talk more about how much we hate school, look forward to graduating, etc. I’m watching the TV a bit, some sports highlights are on but nothing I follow I go to the bathroom, it’s all the way in the back, down a hallway. Single use room Come back, notice the sushi chefs have not slowed down at all They each have a rolling mat and they’re very quick with it Each time they load up another boat or plate we get hopeful it’s for us Most of the tables are within view of the sushi bar Eventually we get our food, this time it’s on a plate Try out different sushi this time, some more elaborate like the “Rock and Roll” covered in different sauces Everything is good but I can tell I’m slowing down Everyone’s getting full but we want round 3 Sort of mutual peer pressure, kinda like “ehh i’ll do it if you guys want to” Everyone eventually caves, we get a few more sushi servings but nothing significant A couple comes in that my friends know, they sit down at the bar I think to myself that it’s weird they’re coming in just the two of them Food comes out, this time on a smaller plate We struggle on the last few pieces, definitely want to persist but it’s getting hard Don’t want to have to pay extra Eventually ask for the check, not too much pressure to leave a big tip because the waitress didn’t spend a lot of time checking in on us We pack up and head out, there is still a wait when we leave, probably due to limited seatingb

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que - 8PM

Get to the restaurant, ask for a table for two Lot of flyers for live music, performances, etc. I’m seated, waiting for a friend Seated at the table in the middle, feeling exposed a little Friend takes longer than expected, I’m checking out the menu, waitress comes by I can feel the glances of the table of 3 college aged guys on the booth There is also a table of three adults, white, two men and one woman I look around a bit, looks like it’s more packed at the bar Friend gets here, apologizes for being late and very quickly the waitress comes over and asks what we’d like to drink Most likely was watching the table for the second person to show up I order a beer and my friend gets water, she IDs me We take a look at the menu, share some stories I look around and notice that the two-person tables are all in one corner, pushed closer to the back of the restaurant Could be to make it more quiet/intimate? Opposite side from the bar, maybe they want to serve two different purposes esp when they’re hosting a show TVs by bar, maybe a more casual experience instead of focusing on who you’re with Lot of tables that seat six, otherwise mostly booths Lighting seems just a little dim, but not severely Music is classic rock, fitting for the woody/smokey/BBQ aesthetic Waitress comes over to take our order, we order, have some banter I see one or two more groups walk in as we talk, one of them is a group of college guys I see a lot of college guys but no groups of college girls. My thought is that heavy hearty food like BBQ is frowned upon Girls want to watch their figure, tend to eat healthier Behind me there are more groups of two or four people eating It seems like this table is the one on display, everyone who walks in or out of the restaurant walks right by this one We get our food, looks good Mac and cheese, we both agree, is bomb. Have some more banter with the waitress about it I look around at how the tables are set up Our section is mostly booths for two or four, with these two six seaters in the middle Behind me is mostly booths on a raised area, two or four again but it seems like mostly two High top tables by the bar I see college aged guys or young professionals holding beers, standing around by the bar talking The waitress comes over to us and asks us how we’re doing Offers me another drink, trying to get that upsell Toward the end of our meal, finishing up Waitress starts taking plates from us but I notice she doesn't ask us if we want dessert Possibly the comments about how good and filling it was? We made a few of those Also Jonah separately asks for another container of Mac n cheese to take back home We have her split the check so Jonah can pay for his Mac n cheese Receipt says fill out survey and bring it back for bottle of BBQ sauce. That's how they get you! People might make a point to go to the dino again just for the free sauce (when really they have to pay for another meal too) We sign our receipts and leave

Smokey Bones - 7PM Arrive at restaurant Big parking lot Grand exterior, doesn't really strike me as barbeque other than the sign Enter, get a more modern vibe when compared with something like dino Just clean, I don't know how else to put it. Good, classy branding even though the jokes on the walls are humorous “Less congested recovery room” Walls are wood layered Get a table for 3, there are some hockey games on but nothing huge. I see some people wearing sports apparel at the bar. This is an interesting restaurant because it’s not quite sporty enough to be a sports bar, but not quite Q’ey enough to be a barbeque. I guess more on the barbeque side but still a unique hybrid I see a few groups of college kids but the number of young to middle aged adults overshadows Mostly groups of three to five, mostly male, dressed business casual as if they came from work A few families too We sit down and take a look at the menu. Moderately priced ($15 range) but that’s what you come to expect from decent barbeque I get some wings and my friends get brisket and ribs, create your own combo REAL good pecan butter cornbread Funny sayings on the wall Carolina mop sauce Warm environment Classic rock Fast service Lot of seats but not all full Can picture it gets busy during big sports games Get food, wow! Pretty fast considering our orders, maybe the kitchen was not too busy My wings are fine but for others some sauce is necessary. Good thing we had a caddy full of different ones. Boneisms = innuendo Humor is definitely selling point Waitress also witty, definitely deserved a bigger tip for that

Food is delicious Waitress is on top of her game Clever names on the bathroom doors Bones club reward program We said no thanks but i can see why it would attract return customers who live closer to the area Waitress definitely deserved a bigger tip
