Here's one that came to me just yesterday.

In Wires and Nerve it's established that Iko's personality was programmed by Linh Dataran, specifically via watching clips of Prince Kai and his fan group feeds. If Iko's personality is moulded by Kai, I think it would be hilarious if she starts unknowingly copying his gestures. It wasn't something she was capable of in her servdroid body, but with her escort body she will wring her hands like Kai when a situation's awkward, curl her nose like him when unimpressed, run her hands through her braids when unsure.

Cinder is the first one to pick up on it. Except she thinks that Kai is copying Iko, and not the other way around. Iko teases Kai, "I know I'm amazing, but you don't have to copy me," whereas Kai is flummoxed, totally stumped that he has been unconsciously mimicking Iko.

Eventually Kai goes on the attack, saying, "hang on, I spend way more time around Cinder and I haven't picked up her gestures"--he has, and she's picked up his, but they don't realise it--"why would I have picked up Iko's?"

The crew goes on either side of this argument until Cress digs up some old videos of a tweenage Kai with the same gestures, proving that--yes--Iko is in fact the copier. Kai then asks Cress how she got these videos, to which she bashfully admits were from years of spying on him back on her satellite.

So does Iko know Kai best? Does Cinder? Does Scarlet, who was a fan of his and had a picture of him on her wall as a teen? Well, obviously it's Cinder that knows his heart and soul best, but if anyone knows the most specific details of Kai's younger years, it's Cress. She knows things even he doesn't know about himself--"you didn't lose your school jacket in grade 7, your friend stole it. I saw it on security footage."

Kai learns to be flattered, rather than weirded out, by all these people knowing all these things about him. But he loves that when he tells Cinder a story, and he pauses and says, "you probably know this already. Peony would have told you," Cinder just smiles and replies, "maybe, but I want to hear you tell it."

i should probably make a lunar chronicles blog to say all this shit but god. i miss them so bad. i need to see them on the big screen one way or another. i need to see kai and cinder's awkward first meeting and her - a five star professional mechanic - literally slamming his tech on its side in an effort to fix it. i need to see cinder crashing the ball in a rain-soaked dress. i need to see her and thorne break out of jail and thorne tell her about starting a prison riot over fucking soap while she just stares at him without a drop of amusement in her eyes, only for them to become best friends. i need to see scarlet aim a gun at wolf and hear wolf tell her to aim at his head because it makes for a more fatal shot, and the sick, nasty parallels later. i need to see cress and thorne stumbling over the dessert, navigating more than just sand dunes. i need to see iko get her new body and feel herself for the first time. i need to see jacin being a jackass to everyone because he's been raised in a place where being anything but harsh will ruin him. i need to see him helping winter through her hallucinations, the two of them holding back their affections at every moment because they can't display them without someone getting hurt. i need to see the final showdown, the "nice shot, cress." i need to see them all eating lemon cake at the end after weeks of eating canned military food on the rampion, eating with their hands because they all forgot cutlery, getting frosting all over their fingers. i need-
