I think all videogames need an “I’m an adult without any free time” setting. I know you have a beautiful open world but I have five free hours of time in a week and I’ll probably never get through the intro

Messed around in the Dragon's Dogma 2 character creator (which is AMAZING btw) and managed to, for the first time with this character, make a rendition of her that actually looks like her. #speaking my truth#zhongzhu#i love them...theyre so hashtag girl#theyre like so nb to me#i never knew how id feel abt the ship in the early days but i loved the art#i was waitijg to see how baizhu would be characterised#his story quest changed me#baizhus entire DEAL is like...what if i was a clamp boy who had to deal with my clamp boy fate but i decided i was built different#the selfish desire to live and have nice things and decide youre built different than the cycle#i want more interactions!!!#but like their kinda clashing but also harmonious perspectives would be great#and also they have the shared trait of RAMBLING NERD WHO LIKES OLD THINGS AND LORE#as a rambling old things nerd who cannot give up the bit for ever and ever i want that for me#i believe in vaguely guy but not much baizhu and genderfluid non human shapeshifter dragon zhongli with ancient vague gender mindset#ya think zhongli has human teyvat normie views of gender hes like an ancient non human beast he was probably busy thinking abt the war#i also like that they both have kinda reptile vibes cause baizhus style is kinda influenced by changsheng#like what if a snake and a dragon hybrid loved each other very much

my toxic trait as a dnd is player is that I'm obsessed with making fantasy communities and if you leave me alone with my thoughts for too long I'll turn my characters simple backstory into a whole fucking town that has its own history and culture and then walk up to my dm and be like 🥺 "Can you put this in your world please?" 🥺
#My first dm ruined me this way#Bc he gave each of the players their own side missions based on backstory n love that I did this#bc I've written like half of the quest for him already Including NPCs#I invented a religion in his world to justify some character choices I made for my barbarian#And he just rolls with it and it's incredible#Like I go 'my character has a twin sister who went to magic school'#And 'when my character left her tribe she joined a crew under the captain Tommy Wisgnome on his ship the antechamper'#And then my dm goes cool#Your sister graduated magic school and now works as an advisor to a power dragon king#And Tommy actually is a former agent to a disbanded CIA like government agency but still retains some powerful contacts#Anyway yeah they'repowerful but if you want help from either of them you have to deal with the politics they're deeply embroiled in#Like God fuck yeah#I still have to get used to the fact that other dms don't Do That#Bc I'm over here crafting nuclear story bombs of NPCs from my backstory on accident#Bc I cannot stop fucking thinking about absolutely ridiculous concepts that have nothing to do with the main story#And then putting them in my characters backstory bc they sound neat#Like girl help me#I pretty much always turn my characters family/caretakers into NPCs bc like how you were raised influences you a lot#And I like being like my character is this way bc they grew up around these ppl#And then my brain took it a step farther and went#Okay now I'm going to create a whole ass setting bc my character acts this way bc of the culture they came from as a whole#Like hello!!!#It feels rude to just be inventing cities at someone else's table but also I'd love it if my players did this#I have no idea what is proper dnd etiquette#Anyway currently having big thoughts abt the village my teifling gnome is from

I really miss Dragon Age 2.
#I’m not sure I can say it was the best one? technically speaking Origins probably is? but it was the one that I liked the story of most. it#hit me deepest. that messed me up but I also loved it. and it was much better designed for cause and effect#dragon age 2#inquisition is frustrating because half the time - especially w War Room - you pick as well as you can based on all the info you /have/ at#your disposal and it goes ‘hehe you picked Lelianna’s ‘let’s be cautious and scout first’ ^u^ over Josephine’s ‘let’s ask the nobles if they#can help intel gather’ and Cullen’s ‘let’s send our soldiers to look around’. 300 people died ^u^’#so if you want good results you either re-load or use a guide bc there’s little sense to it & you’re constantly punished not for really your#own choices but just arbitrarily. I used a guide like 3 times the entirety of DA2. I use them constantly for DAI becuase every time I go ‘im#just gonna play normally : )’ ten minutes later I tell some girl the wardens seem cool & she immediately gets brutally murdered#also they constantly have NPcs there to tell you something and die seconds later and it’s so annoying??? in every other DA game you can heal#and save NPCs you find injured but now they go ‘tell my wife…I’m sorry…’ and die and you have a quest to tell their wife ‘sorry I didn’t#give her one of the 40 health potions I was carrying’ or some idiocy. I have NOT ONCE been able to save by healing an NPC when in every#other game I had MANY chances. no heal even EXISTS as a spell in DAI when it’s a basic skill in every other game???#also the quests are structured so badly half the time I walk into a house and kill a monster and Varric goes ‘ah the High Beam Killer dead#at last’ and I won’t know what the fuck he’s saying At All but some quest marked Spooky Mansion is marked completed and I gain exp without#ever remotely knowing what the quest was in the first place#in DA2 when I got punished I deserved it. in Act3 the Mages with Grace suspected me of turning them in bc I tricked the Templars instead of#killing Thrask and that made sense. I did pick a slightly less safe outcome to protect him. i absolutely never betrayed them but I did take#a risk that put /them/ at risk and it made sense for her to distrust me. In DAI my friends get killed because I’m Qunari no matter what I do#at the war table before or after and they just give me pointless missions about it so I have the illusion of choice and consequence#DAI is obsessed with Only Bad Outcome quests because the Devs are centrists who think there’s no right answer to fucking anything and it#deeply damages the story structure and the quest load out#(I don’t hate DAI I’m just venting. I enjoy many many parts of it. but some I want to destroy rabidly with a hammer)

Story idea: The king of a powerful kingdom puts out a call for dragon hunters/knights to slay a fierce dragon that he says is threatening his kingdom. What he doesn’t tell them, however, is that the dragon is actually his daughter’s previous suitor, whom he cursed with the help of his court wizard to keep away from the princess.

When you say that Rab knows that Nine is an ancient soul, in what way do you mean? Is it like in real life when a young person might be called an old soul? Or can Rab actually tell that Nine is a lot older than he looks. If so it would kinda be funny if they had ran into each other for a short period of time when Rab was Eleven’s age. Like nothing world shifting but something kinda mundane that Nine probably doesn’t even remember and that Rab wouldn’t necessarily remember in great detail. Ooh~ maybe Nine gave him some advice at the time that really stuck with him (so he has a vague memory of the person who said it) that Nine says to someone else somewhere on their journey word for word that kinda clicks. Sorry I kinda rambled there, I got a bit carried away. Hopefully you get a laugh out of it
The latter- Rab, being genuinely very wise and very well aged (except for his pevertness. We'll give a pass on that for now) catches on that Nine is much older than he looks- he noticed that Nine had subtle wisdom and muted sadness that only old age and seeing too many lives pass away can supply.
It would be interesting if they once met in the past! Nine definately visited Duransil a lot before its fall and Rab was a king that was well known for conversing with the commonfolk- it wouldn't be surprising if they met in a pub or on the markets. I imagine Rab in his 20s had bought him a beer or two in exchange for the stories of the outside world since he was a traveler that told him he never have stayed in one place for long, and Nine gladly supplied- and after a long nice conversation or two later Rab had asked for his evaluations on other monarchs on the countries he visited. Nine, after contemplation, had answered that ranks are merely a suggestion and should not be respected much- as long as the monarch treats the lowest of beggars and the highest of royalties with equal kindness, they are set to be successful. Rab took that in mind and nodded, and Nine left with a smile and a wave and a train whistle.
About 50 years later Rab suddenly gets hit with a memory with the Exact Same Person and goes OH. oh. Oh, it's the guy.
