All right. I'm here because… I thought about it, and… you've been my person since we were, like, 30 running around like idiots. You know, we do things together. We do fun shit, boring shit, hard shit. I tried doing my own thing, but it just wasn't the same.
The point is, we're getting old together. You know, we're getting old, and if you die… I wanna be the last person you see.
Don't die. But if you do, I'll be right there with you.

Stop scrolling, start watching! Bening, Foster and Ifans are all amazing and the story—which is as much about friendship as it is about records—is worth every minute.
ps. make sure to catch the fun and impressive post-credit footage too!

Well, looks like my Jodie Foster obsession is taking off...
Annette Bening is fantastic (of course)- and while this could be the typical triumph-of-the-spirit Hollywood biopic, it's not.
There is triumph and there is spirit, but there is also accountability and the depiction of a flawed, damaged person for whom it is sometimes hard to champion.
Jodie Foster with her sculptued arms, tourist t-shirts, and inexhaustible support bridges the gap between the audience and Bening's ego-driven swimmer.
A bonus is Rhys Ifans' subtle navigator, who is a world away from the goofball roles in Notting Hill and the HP series.
It's biographical, so it's fairly unspoilable, but trigger warnings for SA.

Women of radblr if you're looking for something to watch, I recommend Nyad on Netflix. It was so good! We need more movies about women achieving their dreams and spending time with their best friend tbh
