I've made, like, a Ridiculous amount of progress on one of my writing projects these last few days. it's still going to be ages before this is ready to share (especially cause I've turned it into a visual novel, so it need a fair amount of art and programming on top of the script) but it's so. so. good. like I've really found a Niche here where I'm perfectly in line with my target audience (target audience = me and my needs) and I'm obsessed with what this is turning into. I really feel like it's growing on its own now into something beautiful. it probably won't have a wide appeal, but for me it's so meaningful and I feel like what I'm writing is coming directly from my soul in a really vulnerable and truthful way, but like an exciting way too. like I can't wait to see what this looks like when it's done, even if no one else likes it (which is a possible outcome here I'm prepared for)
I've spent the past year+ throwing spaghetti at the wall with my WIPs knowing the general themes I've wanted to explore, but all I've been able to meaningfully produce has been edgy slop. I feel like now I've finally made a breakthrough and figured out exactly WHAT I'm trying to explore and say within these themes. like it's fully clicked into place for me. I was on the right track all along but I just had to feel out the point of it all.
this is such a meaningless post without the full context of what I've been working on (which I can't really share until it's at least mostly done), but I still wanted to share my excitement and that I've been feeling good about it.

how to tell my gf we need to have a mutual lore drop session because I know for a fact we are both holding back some pretty major “secrets” that need to be discussed at some point (hers being something she already told me before we started dating but forgot she already told me so now she keeps dancing around it and doesnt know I know) (mine being that I have a kinda fear of intimacy considering my ex would physically hurt me during sex and now I know I’ll be all jumpy and nervous during it).
We havent hooked up yet (mostly due to being long(ish) distance and just being generally flustered by each other and inexperienced, but also likely do to each of our things we’re kinda hiding) and I know they are convos we need to have but I also dont want it to seem like im… yknow.. asking for sex or anything.

I did a really dumb thing and sloppily contacted someone I'd lost touch with 4 years ago and what started out as a criticism of their opinions turned into a long vent about all the saved up resentment I felt toward them and it was a really stupid idea. It's funny, I don't even really care about the thing I was defending, I was just intensely projecting on it in the moment to get my resentment out. I think I need to take a few steps back when I feel myself projecting or assuming others are projecting in the future, when I'm seeing things that are not there.
Long story short, I made a few stupid decisions that I have reflected on and now I'm gonna have to make a conscious effort to separate resentment of the past and projection to cope.

You know what's fun? Having to clean up the mess of a coworker who just got promoted above you
Sorry rant time. and I hate this cause she's actually a very very lovely person. She's just.. not great at this job. At all. And now she's my 'senior'. Like okay so we have 4 work streams at work, ideally it would be 1 person per task per shift but afternoon shifts sometimes only have 2 people on them, so when that happens we split it 2 work streams each right? Well when I've been on those shifts with her she's so slow that I usually just give her 1 stream while I take 3 and even then she still falls behind on her single work stream and I end up helping her on it!!!!! And she makes so many basic mistakes. Especially on more complex stuff. Like the mistake I just corrected for her, it was very close to committing a very bad breach of the law (accidentally, not maliciously) that coulda got a few people fired, maybe even arrested, and the company fined. And now this persons getting paid more than me. Much more.
I'm so done with this place
