What's Unique About Islamic Calligraphy Art?
Islamic calligraphy art is a beautiful and intricate form of visual art that celebrates the Arabic language and its poetry. Originating in the Middle East, Islamic calligraphy art has undergone many changes and expressions over the years to express more abstract ideas. While traditional Islamic calligraphy is still practiced today, artists have begun to experiment with new styles that express more open-ended ideas. This form of art bridges cultures from all over the world and is highly esteemed for its unique composition and details.
Symbolism And Meaning Behind The Calligraphy
A calligraphy is a beautiful form of art that has been used for centuries in Islamic countries. Each piece of calligraphy is unique, and each artist has their own distinct style. Some examples of Islamic calligraphy include the Kufi script, Diwani script, and Thuluth script.
The use of geometry and intricate detail to create a unified work is what makes calligraphy so beautiful. Symbolic artwork can often be interpreted in many different ways, which allows for a great deal of flexibility in how it can be used. Calligraphers often use religious symbols, verses, and motifs to create an aesthetically pleasing product.
Calligraphy has a long history dating back to antiquity, and it remains an important part of Islamic culture today. It reinforces spiritual values and cultural heritage while offering insight into traditional Islamic beliefs and practices. By studying calligraphy, you can gain a deeper understanding of this fascinating art form.
The Unique Style Of Islamic Artistic Expression
Islamic artwork is predominantly non-figurative, which means that the focus is not on depicting people or objects but rather on capturing the beauty of nature and the Divine. The language used in Islamic writing forms part of the artwork itself, adding an extra layer of beauty and mystique to each piece.
While many Islamic paintings feature abstract geometric shapes and motifs, there is also a great deal of figurative imagery present. This variety helps to captivate the viewer with its simplicity and mystery. Additionally, bold colors and intricate patterns are used throughout Islamic art to create a unique piece of artwork each time. In addition to being aesthetically pleasing, these elements provide visual rhythm and harmony as well as added coloration for an ever-changing space.
Preserving & Appreciating Islamic Calligraphy For Future Generations
There's something special about Arabic calligraphy that can't be matched by any other type of writing. The intricate hand strokes, the variation between cultures, and the color schemes are all part of what makes Islamic calligraphy so unique. Islamic calligraphy has been around for centuries, and it has played a major part in shaping the culture and traditions of many different countries.
Today, there's a growing appreciation for Islamic calligraphy both in the Middle East and globally. Through preservation methods such as digitization and online exhibitions, we're able to bring awareness to this ancient form of art while promoting dialogue between cultures. At the same time, we're working to educate future generations about the tradition and significance of Islamic calligraphy.
Let us embrace the beauty of Islamic calligraphy and Islamic decals by taking the time to explore this wonderful tradition!

*sips hibiscus tea* I’m working on “Wave 1.” What is that you ask? Well… It’s whatever. ( I don’t feel like writing it all out ) Basically 5 black and white 8.5 x 11 designs with links and QR codes to “themarsrevolver.com” that I intend to distribute like flyers around college campuses and various other locations that I suspect might have people who would be interested in such a thing. I’m also considering taking my tripod and filming the process with my phone whilst wearing the mask. But I’m not so sure about that. I actually feel uncomfortable working on certain things around my dad. More so than my mom. Dad is the one that makes me cut my hair after all.

I FINALLY WATCHED THE FIRST EPISODE OF MS. MARVEL and i took notes 😋
A little word of warning that I have only read one comic issue of Ms. Marvel in my lifetime so, the little knowledge I have of her is mostly from posts from Ms. Marvel enthusiasts and information from her Marvel Wiki page SO, a lot of my comments are based solely on the MCU Disney+ show portrayal; and of course, SPOILER warning if you haven't watched it yourself :>
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To start, I am absolutely in awe of the art style that they went for. It is so in tune with Kamala's character, and it distinguishes the show from the other Disney+ shows which just adds to its charm. Like, just look at the title cards and the text conversation 😩
Tumblr media
I love that they included this because one, it is so Scott to even do all this, but it also perfectly explains why everyone seems to know all the details that went down during the Endgame battle without delving too much into it because of course Scott sat down and talked about it for the world to hear, so much so that there was literally an "America's ass" reference to the art/merch at AvengersCon 😭and AvengersCon please, if I lived in the US, i would probably risk it all to attend it too, i totally get it Kamala sweetie
Tumblr media
Kamala. Khan. It is absolutely lovely to watch Iman's portrayal of Kamala, especially knowing how much she loves the character herself. The YouTube account, the fan art, the doodles, the DIY Captain Marvel costume? She is literally us. When she said, "Maybe I spend too much time in fantasy land..." I felt that to my core. My parents aren't even aware of how much time I actually spend just devouring fan content (and across all the shows/films/books I obsess over too, not just the MCU/Marvel), so for her to even reveal that side of her to her family, a girl can dream.
I also have to say, while I am a Filipino, I have grown up in an Islamic country since I studied elementary and high school overseas so seeing their culture throughout the episode was really refreshing and awesome to me. Like terms like haram and halal being thrown around, the garments, the gold jewelry, the music, the cultural practices down to giving tupperwares of food to your best friend to take home (which we also do a lot in Filipino culture), and the aunties gossiping were all literally things i see and experience in almost a daily basis. Also, Bruno? We love a supportive best friend, a real one actually.
Lastly, I know this was already a recurring criticism when the trailers first came out, but I do still feel a little meh with the change in her powers, especially with the source being the bracelet? It looks cool, yeah (and yes, i did see that it does still include her stretching her body parts albeit in a different way); but reading up on how important her original powers were both as part of her identity and just the ability itself, the change was pretty disappointing. But then again, changing details whether it's in the character's powers, suit, or identity itself is nothing new in MCU adaptations. Seeing how great it's been so far, I have hope that it'll still be really great and be able to honor the source material :>

Ramadan Decoration Ideas for A Festive Home
Tumblr media
Decorating your home for Ramadan can create a festive atmosphere and enhance the spirit of the holy month. Here are some creative decoration ideas to make your home feel warm and welcoming during Ramadan:
1. Ramadan Lanterns (Fanous): Hang traditional lanterns around your home or place them on tables to add a touch of authenticity and charm. You can find lanterns in various shapes, sizes, and colors to match your decor theme.
2. String Lights: Decorate your living spaces with string lights in warm tones to create a cozy ambiance. You can drape them along walls, windows, or ceilings for a subtle glow.
3. Islamic Calligraphy: Incorporate Islamic calligraphy art into your decor by displaying verses from the Quran or phrases like "Ramadan Kareem" (Generous Ramadan) or "Ramadan Mubarak" (Blessed Ramadan). You can use framed artwork or decals to adorn your walls.
4. Dates and Dates Baskets: Dates are traditionally eaten to break the fast during Ramadan. Arrange baskets of fresh dates or date palms as centerpieces on tables or countertops as both decoration and a reminder of the significance of the month.
5. Ramadan Banners and Garlands: Hang banners or garlands with Ramadan greetings or Islamic patterns across doorways or mantels to add a festive touch to your home. You can also make your own DIY banners using colorful paper or fabric.
6. Table Settings: Set your dining table with elegant tableware, including special Ramadan-themed plates, cups, and napkins. Add a centerpiece of flowers, candles, or dates to create a beautiful focal point.
7. Ramadan Cushions and Throws: Update your sofa or seating area with cushions and throws featuring Ramadan-themed designs or colors inspired by the season. This can instantly transform your living space into a cozy and inviting spot for family and guests.
8. Scented Candles or Incense: Use scented candles or incense with fragrances like oud, musk, or rose to evoke a sense of tranquility and spirituality in your home. Light them during iftar (breaking of the fast) or suhoor (pre-dawn meal) to create a soothing atmosphere.
9. Ramadan Crafts: Get creative with DIY Ramadan crafts such as paper lanterns, crescent moon mobiles, or Ramadan countdown calendars. Involve your family members in making these crafts to add a personal touch to your decor.
10. Prayer Area: Create a designated prayer area in your home with a prayer rug, Quran stand, and Islamic decor items such as a decorative mosque or mini fountain. This space can serve as a focal point for spiritual reflection and worship during Ramadan.
Remember to keep your decorations simple, tasteful, and in line with the spirit of Ramadan, which emphasizes gratitude, reflection, and spiritual growth. Happy decorating and Ramadan Kareem!

The 1970s
Zines have been around since the 1930s, however, they became popular in the 1970s – particularly within subcultures such as the punk community. This makes sense as the 1970s was a decade of notable change across the globe, with the US government attempting to regain the peoples trust after Watergate and the Vietnam war whilst struggling with civil rights, women’s rights, and environmental issues. Meanwhile Europe was undergoing political upheaval and economic growth with many countries experiencing social unrest, whilst leftist political movements, such as communism ad socialism, were on the rise. Alongside this, conflict and instability spread across the Middle East – with the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, the formation of militant groups, and the start of the Arab Israeli conflict.
Perhaps due to this, many zines during this decade explored issues such as environmentalism and other social justice issues and were associated with punk rock and DIY culture. They helped people share ideas and opinions outside of mainstream channels and provided a sense of community for like-minded individuals. Common themes within these zines included environmentalism, animal rights, anti-authoritarianism, anti-capitalism, music, art, politics, and other social justice.

Guide To Modern Islamic Interior Designing And Ideas
The homes of people are nothing but an extension of their own selves. They reflect the identity of the people who live in those houses. The important features that a house must reflect are beauty, cleanness, love and warmth. The modern Islamic interior design is a perfect example of all the above-mentioned features. Islamic architecture and calligraphy are heaped with wonderful skills, ideas and technology. These art forms play significant roles in enhancing the interiors of any house.
Islamic Styles:
The Islamic style used in the interiors of the house is the perfect combination of careful layouts, geometry and the philosophy of open space. The various Islamic art forms that get used in designing modern houses reflect a majestic and grand appearance. DIY Islamic art forms are quite popular these days. They are unique creations made by the talented artisans which help in revamping the look of any room instantly. These art forms are mostly hand-made and are a perfect combination of the traditional Islamic calligraphy and the contemporary tastes of today.
Delicate Texture And Fixture:
Islamic calligraphy art is the combination of both the modern and old design elements that inspire the Islamic religion. Most of the home décor items having Islamic art forms have detailed geometrical patterns, designs of flower friezes, and sweeping Quranic verses. These beautiful designs make the décor items even more appealing and heart-touching. Experts involved in Islamic artworks suggest keeping the accessories of your houses delicate so that the overall appearance of the rooms looks peaceful and subtle.
Styles In Islamic Calligraphy:
The Islamic calligraphy has a rich history of its own. There are so many variations available in this form of calligraphy which gets used by the designers even today. Some of the most popular calligraphic scripts include:
·  Kufi: This one is the oldest Islamic script that got developed during the fourth century AD. The script contains long texts in writings and is mostly used these days in designing tiles.
·  Thuluth: This calligraphic form is quite a readable one and the modern designers use it in making various contemporary Islamic art forms these days.
·  Naskh: It means to copy. This Islamic calligraphy is quite soothing for the eyes. You get lovely stencils having such calligraphy. You can design them to decorate various accessories of the house and give them the holy Islamic touch.
·  Diwani: This Islamic calligraphic form is quite a modern concept which several designers are using these days. The wonderful shapes and curves that the calligraphy has made the home décor items look absolutely stunning and attractive.
Sometimes, you do not get the desired Islamic calligraphic quote that you are looking for. In such cases, many reputed companies accept custom orders and design those specific styles to suit your interests in the best manner. Bold colors and accents like greens, blues and reds are the modern Islamic styles that prevail these days when it comes to interior decorations of your house.
This has mostly got inspired by the Moroccan style of art where bold accents are quite popular. Today’s Islamic art ideas are no more boring and traditional only. You get several quirky designs in centerpieces, pillow sets, table runners, etc. that can make your house ready for any festive occasion.

اِنَّ رَبِّىۡ قَرِيۡبٌ مُّجِيۡبٌ "Indeed My Lord is near, responsive to prayers " (Surah HUD:61) In this concise sentence, the Quran has refuted a grave misunderstanding of the mushrikeen(polytheists), which has in every age misled people into wrong creeds. They presumed that Allah lived far away from them and, therefore, was unapproachable like their own rulers on the earth. As the only way of approach to them was an intercessor who alone could receive and present their requests and applications to their rulers, and convey their answers to them, they presumed that there should be some intercessor to help approach Allah and bring to them the answers to their prayers. Obviously this is a false presumption.Accordingly, they tried to secure the services of those who were well versed in the art of conveying the requests with the necessary presents and gifts to the Highest Authority. This misunderstanding created hosts of intercessors, and the establishment of the system of priesthood, which has so incapacitated the followers of mushrik creeds of ignorance that they cannot perform by themselves any religious ceremony from birth to death. Now let us consider the concise answer of Prophet Salih (peace be upon him), by which he broke asunder the false presumption of the mushriks. It is this: Allah is near at hand, so you can invoke His help directly without the help of any interceder. He answers prayers, so you can yourselves receive the answer to your prayer. Though He is the Highest, each one of you will find Him so near to yourself that you will be able to convey your request even in a whisper, nay, you are permitted to convey your requests openly or secretly to Him. Therefore give up the folly of seeking interceders and setting them up as His partners, and address your prayers to Him Who is near at hand and answers prayers. Note
That Iraian image set is only describing underground culture. No women with their heads uncovered except in their houses or backyards as per sharia law, no men and women socializing in public, the art depicting a person is stashed in the corner of someone's room instead of an art gallery, the band is playing a tiny DIY house show instead of a concert with thousands of people. Open concerts need the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Iran is not just a copy of America.
This is also something I know, but it... does well to remember that people are not a universal. Perhaps it is always best to be aware of what is both the street life AND the underground society, and that alienating the underground does not encourage them to trust you when you try to urge them into risky behavior in changing society as a whole.
