Raise a Glass to Dad
Raise a Glass to Dad
There is a soft spot in my heart for a good daddy. I had one of the very best in my grandfather, am lucky enough to have one in my dear step-father, and get to be married to one of the best. My step-father learned early in our relationship that the best way to parent is to show love first and foremost. Love for my mother, love for me and my sister, love for our family. He has always been a…

TEN MEXICAN FOODS YOU WILL LOVE 💓
I don´t think I´m writing list articles in the immediate future so I want to publish most of the unpublished or not so known material of mine that I already presented for publication to comic magazines, food lists, food magazines, etc...
This list even when I presented it as a finished work the idea was to give a general outline to editors for them to tell me what else would they want me to add (if needed).  The next list was presented to (if I remember correctly to toptens.com , listverse , etc...) You will see some repeated or more detailedly explained items from another lists of mine; I don´t think I am being repetitive as much as I am CONSISTENT and coherent with what I write, say and do.
One editor, just as a final note, did not give an explanation of why they didn´t want the article to be published... ... ... ... but mentioned four possible reasons:
1The list is too short or has fewer than ten items 2. The list requires too much editing (poor English or lack of proofing is usually the reason) 3. The topic is already covered on Listverse 4. The topic is not remarkable enough
Without more more forewords, I present you my draft called:::
Ten Mexican Foods That You Will Love 💓👍🐯🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮
My Mexico is a country with a lot good stuff and one of the best things to try is our variety of foods and drinks. Talking about gastronomy, much of our stuff (like the region of Tequila Jalisco, where Tequila is made) has been considered as part of Humanhood´s Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO. I have listed these ten foods in no particular order, why? because I hope and look forward for you to taste and love them all MI AMIGO!!! 1) Tequila. Made in: Region of Tequila, Jalisco. Type: Alcoholic beverage. Flavor: Strong, with different notes depending on the brand. Some brands you should try: Don Julio. Cazadores. Corralejo. Centenario. 1800 Añejo. Tequila is one of our most known beverages, it´s made by fermenting (and then distilling) the sugars from the pineapples of the Tequila´s Agave, a plant of the family of cactuses. It is a very known beverage in the world, and it is served in many different cocktails , be sure to try it with a Cola beverage (that is called Charro Negro) or with a grapefruit beverage (that is called a Paloma) 2) Mexican beer. Made in: all our territory Type: Alcoholic beverage. Flavor: Slightly bitter, with different notes depending on brand (Oh, by the way, flavors and fragances can be studied by notes, same as a song, you can hear chemists and tasters saying: Oh, this flavor (or fragance) has these and these notes.) Some brands you should try: Pacífico. Montejo. León. XX Lager.Negra Modelo. Bohemia. Bohemia Weizen. 3)Tacos al Pastor. Made in: all our territory and most mexican food restaurants world-wide. Check for the mexican food restaurants in your area! Type: Tacos (meat on tortilla) Flavor: Salty and sweet. Every important Taco Restaurant (Taquería) has his unique recipe with unique flavor. They are usually served with some pineapple which gives them a slightly acid and sweet taste and some kind of mexican sauce that makes them spicy and hot. Note: The first version of tacos al pastor is actually of arabic origin, but our own version of that recipe (with corn tortillas and our own added ingredients) can be found anywhere around. 4) Tacos de Guisado. Made in: All our territory, hopefully in many mexican food restaurants world-wide. Type: Tacos Flavor: All flavors can be included here. Tacos de guisado are tacos made up with pretty much all mexican stews ever: Mole poblano, Liver with onion (my favorite!), sausage with cheese,  Mole verde, etc... 5) Quesadillas. Made in: all our territory and most mexican food restaurants world-wide. Type: they are folded tortillas with cheese and other ingredients. Flavor: Slightly acid and slightly sweet because of the tortilla. Quesadillas can be made only of cheese or add other ingredients such as champignons, sausage, squash blossom, etc... 6) Mole. Made in: All of our territory, but every region has some kind or kinds of regional mole recipes, the most famous of all is called "Mole Poblano" that means Mole from Puebla (Puebla is both the name of a city and a state). Mole Poblano is pretty much found all around Mexico and in all Mexican Restaurants. Type: Stew. Flavor: Complex and delicious, it is a combination of the spicy flavors of chiles, bitter and sweet flavors of chocolate and salty flavor of spices and meats served with it (chicken mostly but others can also be used). Every taste at mole stew is a complete sensorial experience. 7) Pescado a la Veracruzana (Veracruz Style fish) Made in: All of our territory. It was originally cooked in Veracruz, but now it is considered a world-class recipe. Type: Stew. Flavor: Salty, slightly acid and sometimes hot when chiles are added. 8) Tortas mexicanas Made in: All of our territory and many restaurants world-wide. Type: They are somehow alike to a sandwich. They are made with a big piece of bread with a lot of ingredients inside. It is important to differentiate mexican tortas from spanish tortas. In Spain they call tortas to cakes (as for a birthday party) and here in Mexico tortas are bread with ham, sausage, cheese, chicken, or other ingredients inside. Flavor: Lots of flavors can go inside of tortas, from chicken to beef and from pineapple to different kind of sausages (salchichas and chorizo the most known), I have also tasted tortas made with two or three different kinds of cheese. 9)Agua de horchata Made in: All of our territory. Most mexican restaurants world-wide most have it too. Type: Non-alcoholic beverage. Flavor: Sweet. Normally made with rice flour, some variants of the recipe include making it with oats or almonds, really tasty!!! 10) Mexican Wine: Made in: mostly the northern states like the Baja Californias. Type: Alcoholic beverage. Flavor: Depending on the brand. Mexico has a lot of kinds and brands of wines. Many brands have won awards around the world. Brands you should definitely taste:  Casa Domecq.    L.A. Cetto.    Monte Xanic. Hint: Always ask your waiter for a recommendation on which wine to taste, they are usually very useful. Well, that´s all for now. Hope you have enjoyed the article!!!                                                          ¡Hasta la vista, amigos

Los destilados de Guanajuato
Tumblr media
