My strength and my song
The Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song. 2 Nephi 22:2
I came across this verse today and I was inspired to write about what this verse means to me and how Jesus is my strength and my song
My Strength
When I am stressed and scared, He gives me courage. He helps me to continue trying and not lay down and give up when the only hope in sight is His promises, and not something earthly and tangible.
In all other times, He helps me to be my best self and constantly improve. To focus on my gifts and love for others. To be patient when I am frustrated. To make choices that improve my relationships. To trust in Him and His promises. He reassures and comforts me. He makes me achieve things I couldn’t achieve on my own.
My song
Through the good and bad times, He is always in my heart and my mind. Like a song, that comforts, that empowers, that celebrates joy and hugs you when you are filled with sorrow. Like a song, He feels every emotion with me. Like a song, He inspires me to sing praises and to open my heart to Him and to others. Like a song, He helps me to experience my emotions in a meaningful and productive way. Like a song, He makes life better, more interesting, more beautiful.
I know that He is my strength and song.

Love of God painting
This painting is in the 2024 Come Follow Me manual in Jan. 22-27 lesson. The artists says she was dealing with diversity and God's love for the diversity of His creations. It is getting some push back from some who think it depicts the pride rainbow and they find that offensive. Some comments are that the queer world hijacked the rainbow from it's Christian symbol associated with Noah. For me, the rainbow pride symbol is about diversity and God's love for all His creations. I am thrilled to see this beautiful painting in the CFM manual. I am not surprised that it generates some unpleasant reactions. I look at the positive image it creates for me of my inclusion, as a gay man, in Gods love. Allejula Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise whomever included in the CFM manual.

19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them who believe, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are chosen: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Tomorrow in Sunday School, when we discuss Luke 4, specifically the call of Christ “to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised”, Americans need to be talking about trans people, specifically trans children.
Being trans isn’t political or moral failing, it is simply a condition, like diabetes, where we can live normal lives with certain accommodations and sometime medical intervention. It is not even experimental and the data shows that hormone blockers and gender-affirming hormones decrease suicidality by 73%. Every state that has laws prohibiting gender affirming care for minors is killing children.
A follower of Christ would not stand for this for a second. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints should be calling out every politician who supported and voted for such legislation. They should also be loud in opposing laws that seek to restrict freedoms of trans people existing and living their lives.
Even if you run with the idea that it is immoral, then it comes against what we fought for before we came to earth. Letting teens transition doesn’t harm anyone. If you’re concerned about dropping fertility, your focus is better spent on pollution, suppressed wages, and the housing crisis. You wouldn’t oppose chemotherapy for children even if it made them infertile; it’s hypocritical to say it matters when it comes to gender dysphoria. Even if you don’t believe it, the general scientific community says it is life saving care. People have a right to live according to their beliefs.
Any other condition, people would be looking to legislate the failure of getting lifesaving healthcare as child abuse. Instead we have to fight for the right of parents who value their children more than their religious or political beliefs to get lifesaving care. This is not okay.

I just had an interesting idea in Sacrament Meeting: a Come, Follow Me sketchbook
There'd be a Drawing Prompt based on that week's reading, such as Nephi getting the Brass Plates, or Ammon cutting off the Arms, or the Savior appearing to the Nephites
I saw my future SIL drawing in Church, and thought of my Little Brother (a better artist than me at half my age), and just thought it'd be an awesome way to get more people involved, especially Neurodivergent People (such as me & my Brother)

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump; for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
