Bolt sales were up sharply year over year, with more sales growth than all but one of Chevy’s models (the Malibu) and two other GM models (XT4, Terrain). Bolt sold 22,073 vehicles in 2021 and 38,120 in 2022, a 72% increase for this model line. Most of GMs other models showed either sales declines or more modest growth, with the company overall adding 2.5% to sales year over year.

So, Bolt sales are increasing significantly, like many other electric models are, while gas car sales are showing much smaller growth.

How To Install Chevy Flexplate

The chevy flexplate is located between the motor and the transmission. The flex plate is a metal plate that is attached to the crankshaft. It transfers rotational energy from the engine to the transmission. Its outer edges have gear teeth that engage the starter, and its center has a pilot hole that engages the crankshaft. The starter and flywheel are mounted on the soft plate. Installing a Chevy flex plate is difficult due to the amount of rust that forms around the crankshaft. An adjustable wrench for clamping the crimping plate can be used to turn the flywheel or the crimping plate. The flex plate is used only on vehicles with an automatic transmission and is mounted directly to the crankshaft.

Here are the easy steps to install the Chevy Flexplate:

Step 1: Apply an anti-rust agent (if any) to the junction of the crankshaft with the bending plate. Try installing the crimping plate by placing the clamps on either side and rocking it back and forth. 

Step 2: Try rotating the flex plate on the crankshaft by applying more penetrant and using a crimp plate wrench. This will make installation easier by separating the crimping plate from the rust. If necessary, rotate the flex disc several times until it releases from the crankshaft using the clamping mechanism.

Step 3: Heat until the flexible disc expands. Use the clamping mechanism to pry the flex plate off the crankshaft, as it will be hot to the touch. Flex plate installation cost
