Dalam pameran yang berlangsung sampai 19 November mendatang ini, para pengunjung dapat melihat langsung tampilan eksterior dan interior dari BinguoEV dan melakukan pre-book untuk mobil listrik Wuling kedua ini. “Wuling memulai pengembangan EV sejak tahun 2014 di Tiongkok dan seiring berjalannya waktu, Wuling telah mencatatkan pencapaian signifikan sebagai produsen kendaraan listrik global yang berpengalaman dan terpercaya di dunia. Hingga saat ini, sebanyak 1,6 juta unit produk mobil listrik Wuling telah dinikmati oleh konsumen di berbagai negara. Charging costs with Electrify America and the Hyundai Ioniq

Yesterday was a very busy day. I had driven over 70 miles before 9am, having to drop a friend off at his home in Angier and then beeline to the NC State Fair grounds for the annual Raleigh-Durham Caged Bird Society’s Per Bird Fair with my Congo African grey parrot in tow. After the show, I ran home and dropped off the bird and picked up my husband so we could go to a wedding in Wendell. At the wedding, I got a text from our Airbnb guests that reminded me of the fact that neither of us turned the apartment due to the last minute wedding invitation. After the ceremony ended, I high tailed it back to the house to clean the apartment, running 80+ and dropping my efficiency to 4.7mi/kWh from 5.3mi/kWh.

After the emergency cleaning, I went and picked up my husband and we came back home to rest before the next round of engagements - dinner with friends and then a gaming party in Apex.

My battery was low, I plugged in while cleaning the apt and when we got home, but we we’re short on range. I decided that it was worth the cost to charge at Electrify America to save time. So we drove over to the Raleigh location and plugged in. The starting remaining range was 27 miles and the battery reported 23%

The initial charging speed was 62kW (peaked at 65kW), but this dropped to ~40kW after I turned the HVAC on so my husband could nap in comfort (he was running on less than 4 hours of sleep).

We charged for less than 15 minutes for a cost of $5.79 after taxes.

This jumped the range from 27 to 98 miles (23% to 67%).

Now, you’re probably thinking that $5.79 for 71 miles is a lot to pay. The reality is that it’s the same (at current regular gas prices) as a 32.5mpg car - which is higher economy than any of our remaining premium gas drinking vehicles (a Volvo wagon and BMW roadster).

Our BMW i3 would have used close to 2 gallons of premium gas to deliver the same range, at a cost of $6.10. Looking at it like that, the Ioniq is pretty cheap to operate even with expensive rapid charging.

Nearly 100K New EV’s Projected in the UK for 2020

At least 98,500 new battery electric vehicles will be registered in the UK in 2020, according to DriveElectric, one of the UK’s leading EV leasing companies.

This figure is based on DriveElectric’s own forecasts, and it will represent a significant increase from 37,850 - the number of battery electric vehicles registered in the UK in 2019. This will mean a 260% rise for BEV registrations in 2020 compared to 2019. The figure does not include plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).

DriveElectric uses its own model from its intelligence of the UK market to forecast EV registrations. Reasons for this substantial EV increase are:

Changes to Benefit in Kind (BIK) company car tax: there will be zero company car tax on pure electric cars from April 2020 for a period of 12 months. Switching to an EV from a plug-in hybrid could result in savings for the employee and the company in BIK, fuel and National Insurance in just one year of £4,578.1

A return to company cars rather than employees taking car allowances: DriveElectric already has evidence to show that this change is happening.

Increased availability of electric cars in 2020 compared to 2019, in part due to the new EU fleet-wide average emissions targets - selling larger numbers of EVs can help car manufacturers avoid substantial fines.2

Existing manufacturers such as Tesla will continue with a large market share and a high number of deliveries (approximately 25,000 units).

A number of manufacturers are entering the market with new battery electric vehicles, for example PSA, with a predicted volume of 12,000 units. Volkswagen will have a big push with EVs; although the new ID won’t be ready to roll out of UK showrooms until later in 2020, other all-electric Volkswagen models will help with the firm’s numbers.

There is growing environmental awareness, about climate change and also about challenges with local air quality; EVs help to provide a solution in both areas.

Increasing numbers of initiatives such as Clean Air Zones are resulting in organisations considering renewing their fleets with electric rather than petrol or diesel vehicles.

However there is also one additional key factor that is responsible for the increasing shift to electric vehicles, that DriveElectric has witnessed in its trials of EVs with organisations around the UK: drivers, many of whom may initially have been sceptical about a move to EVs, vastly prefer the driving experience of electric cars and vans to that of their petrol or diesel engine equivalents after experiencing EVs.
