Novel phytochemical constituents were isolated from the hexane extract of Mesua Ferrea L. seeds by using n-hexane. The two new compounds were identified by spectral (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectra, mass spectrum, elemental analysis) and chemicalanalysis. The compounds identified are 5-formyl-2-(propan-2-yl) phenyl acetate and 2, 4-diformyl-6-(propan-2-yl) phenyl acetate. Anticancer activities were assessed for the isolated compounds and have shown variable activity. These novel compounds are being reported for the first time.
