Client Project Step 5

In the client project step 5 we are to write a memo explaining to our client how they can best share their content to reach their goals. My client is the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity here at Central Michigan University. After working with my client, the main goal is overall posting high quality content and more content in general, across all platforms of social media.  

The strategy is to focus on reaching the followers and community on every platform, making sure we cover all the bases. Doing this will prevent any miscommunication because every platform will have content and information being posted. Posting across all platforms will be great for my client, Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, when they are hosting philanthropy and charity events. Posting across all platforms targeting all the communities will increase the number of views, resulting in more engagement with the events and potentially more donations and participation. The platforms and content to be posted for my client to share online content will consist of Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram stories and posts.  

Another goal we have set is more content in general. When looking at verified accounts for organizations, businesses, or even social media influencers, they all have one thing in common, and that is the amount of content being posted. Even though my client is not a verified account with a huge number of followers, I want to push them and raise the bar to what is to be expected from the social media accounts. We must be different than everyone and other organizations. The more we post high quality content, the more followers will see what is going on and recognize the fraternity. This is raising the awareness to the community that the fraternity posts great content and consistently post updates about involvement, philanthropy, things going on within the chapter, and overall raising the status of the organization.  

Week 7 Blog

Hootsuite's models 3 & 4 taught me a lot about how to develop effective content. In order to create effective content, you have to consider your target audience, create a variety for your viewers, and use visuals that relate to what you are posting about.

When becoming a social organization correlates a lot with effective development and sharing principles. When posting it is important to be consistent in what you are posting, viewers like being able to trust a rely on a brand. Keeping up with current trends and posting relevant content is also good. And being able to collaborate with other people such as influencers.

A corporation that is very good at social media and branding (at least it always works on me is Amazon. Everytime I think of something it pops up as an ad on my feed on social media. https://www.amazon.com

Senioritis Prevention on Twitter

Lately, the days have been flying by. I don't know if its just me or if everyone else feels like it too. There is not enough time in the day to get things done or do the thing I want to do. In the back of my head, I keep telling myself it is senior year, graduation is on the clock, so soak everything in. Because life does not stop for anyone, it keeps moving and we have to keep moving. I have had my hands full with school the past couple weeks, big exams, projects, and the homework is busy work in between the two. Even though school can be a lot sometimes and stressful. We have to take a deep breath, and open our eyes, because later down the road, we will realize that we were living in the best times of our lives.

On twitter earlier this week, I had come across this thread by this student who had graduated but was leaving some positive words and advice for those graduating. The post had a ton of interaction with people liking it, sharing it, commenting on it. I felt that connection just like everyone else, it opened my eyes to appreciate the time i have left here at Central Michigan.

Be sure to focus, do not let "senioritis" ruin your hard work. Sit down and plan out your school schedule and stay on top of deadlines. Make sure you schedule in time to have fun and that could even be some self care time. But most importantly do not fall behind. I can say I started to fall behind in some of my classes because I was too worried about other classes and studying for exams. The little points add up so do not let them negatively affect you.
