So was anybody going to tell me there is a whole discarded Meet the Robinsons short explaining how Bowler Hat Guy took Tiny to the future with him? Or was I supposed to find that out completely on my own?
Like, this thing is fully story-boarded and has not one, but two different potential endings.
Both versions of the short basically have Goob telling the story of how he brought a dinosaur to the future to an audience of sorts.
This one is apparently the first version that was made of this short, it has the most completed animation out of the two versions. In this case, the short starts with him seemingly telling the story as if he's being interviewed. However, it turns out he is actually in a psych ward telling the story to a cardboard cutout crowd.

This second version scrapped some of the scenes from the first draft and it ends with the reveal that Goob is telling this story to the Robinsons in an effort to convince them to adopt him into the family, they put it to a vote, and he is given the okay. I personally like this version more, but I'm biased because it's always neat to see more of the family. Also I know Wilbur voted no.

I love the concept of this short as a whole because it builds on the whole idea of Goob as an unreliable narrator as we saw in the "They all hated me" sequence.
Another thing that caught my attention during this short was the nods to classic Disney shorts a la Mickey Mouse and friends. From how the short starts with an opening card with Bowler Hat Guy's face on it and how in one of the scenes he is even whistling Steamboat Willie.
Overall, I know that technically both versions of this short probably wouldn't work given Bowler Hat Guy's ending in the movie, but its still a really fun concept. And more Meet the Robinsons content is always a win.

Behold, the latest boy band in town – “The Trashbin Princes” (or “The IBags”, or something equally lame).
This is product of me wanting to draw more of somehow obscure characters and crossovers, things like “Once Upon A Studio” amplify that impulse.
I was thinking what other notable characters in Disney canon are there, that aren’t spunky youngsters, not having imposing presence, not particularly fortunate and neither the ones who frankly hit jackpot as the result of their ventures.
The guys here are, from left to right:
Fagin the animal-loving crook, from “Oliver & Company”;
in the middle is, I, uh… forgot his name, Frodo Mardigras or something?
Michael “Goob” Yagoobian (also known as “Bowler Hat Guy”), possessor of possibly the bleakest fate(s) in Disney movie, from “Meet The Robinsons”;
Joe the unemployed from “Rhapsody in Blue” segment of “Fantasia 2000”.

UNRELIABLE NARRATORS; SIDE C
Kuzco Propaganda:
The movie starts with them doing the voiceover, telling us how he'll show us that evil people ruined his life for no reason at all, before proceeding to show him fire a loyal advisor, announce to a guy he'll chase him and his whole village away from the homes they've been living in for generations, just to build a summer villa with pool for himself, have a guy thrown off a window for being on his way when he was freedancing, etc., etc. Then as his life is ruined and we get back to the point at the beginning from which he had started the flash back which took half the movie, he's like "see? for no reason!"
Goob Propaganda:
The scene where his classmates are like "hi Goob!" "Wanna come over to my house later?" and adult!Goob, as the narrator, says "They all hated me" still cracks me up to this day

There's something really funny about the Mad Hatter thinking it's absurd to talk to your own hat.
I mean, he's right, but still. 😆
The Mad Hatter in Disney Heroes Battle Mode constantly flits between being the most chaotic old man who will throw handfuls of sugar in your eyes to evade capture, and being a lucid voice of reason for like two sentences before crying about not being able to find the teacup he forgot he tucked under his hat.

the timeline is one big loop yeah but i think lewis is the first in his timeline to go and change goobs story. i think the loop still exists but in this new loop goob gets to be happy. i also wonder abt wilbur knowing the exact date when lewis got given up for adoption and whether or not cornelius has gone back to that time to watch his birth mom again or if he told wilbur abt it. so much. So Much.
