WHO WANTS TO HEAR ME RAMBLE ABOUT GAY FURRY DEMON SEX? XD

(damn, there's a sentence I never thought I'd say....)

Okay...so I see some Stolitz confusion and bashing online and I need to type up a defense here because I won't be able to sleep otherwise lol

I consider myself to be a Ship Critic and someone who takes shipping rather seriously.

What I mean by this is, I like to analyze and break down romantic relationships between fictional characters because it's just interesting to write for me. I especially take delight in friendly debating with opinions that I strongly do *not* agree with.

Let me start off by saying I am NOT a "this ship is awesome because gay furry sex lol" type of girl.

FAR from it. I'm generally more passionate about hetero ships between human characters (because I can relate to them more) among other reasons. So if you wanna dismiss my defense as "shallow fangirlism", you can forget about that lame excuse.

I fell in love with Hazbin Hotel when it was finally released in February and suffered waiting for each new two-parts per week. During that time, I decided to watch Helluva Boss as well, after a friend showed me a particularly soul-crushing clip (Moxxie's childhood trauma about his mother).

Yes, I like funny sex jokes as much as the next goofy adult but scenes like this, scenes that carry a very heavy emotional weight are what really get me in the end, even moreso when VERY little dialogue is exchanged. I knew I had to watch the entire episode run after seeing that the creators had a talent for this.

I saw people asking:

"How did Stolas go from using Blitz as a sex toy to being painfully in love with him?"

Oh I can tell you. I can tell you the EXACT moment this is revealed. But it's not spoon-fed to you; it's quite subtle actually and this is why lots of people miss it.

See, one of the strongest talents Vivenne has shown me is that she REALLY knows how to get her characters to communicate their feelings to the viewers JUST from their expressions and body language. These can be 'blink-and-miss-it' teeny little scenes and it may require a couple rewatches.

But since people demand time stamps for all information others post here, I'll rewatch a few scenes from S1 E7 'Ozzie's' as I'm typing this.

'Ozzie's' remains to be not just my favorite episode of HB...but probably my favorite episode of any adult-targeted animated show outside of Japan (aside from S2 E7's Mid-Season Special)

It has this huge reveal for both Blitzo and Stolas.

We'll first address Blitzo's irrational, stalkerish behavior of Moxxie and Millie.

He's obsessed with them. He finds both of them very attractive, fantasizes about threesomes with them and is constantly inserting himself into their personal lives.

Why?

Because they have everything that he badly badly wants for himself.

They have the perfect marriage and he is trying to live THROUGH them.

This was hilarious to me at the beginnning of the show but it's slowly revealed that it's one of the most tragic and depressing things I've ever seen. And it's scarily realistic too.

But you know this already so let's move on...

Blitzo follows the couple to Ozzie's but he can't get in without a date. So he calls up Stolas and yes, this is very low but he doesn't realize how much this means to Stolas (hell, I'm not sure even Stolas realizes it himself!) but the owl man is giddy with joy, he rushes over and they enter Ozzie's.

When Ozzie and Fizz mock Moxxie for being so sappy towards his wife, this strikes a chord with Blitzo (because they're his IDEAL relationship) and he speaks up to defend them.

NOW PAY CLOSE ATTENTION; THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART:

Fizz, still holding onto his past grudge turns on Blitzo to humilate him:

"Some nerve you got commenting on a relationship"

Time Stamp: 11:37

As Fizz says "-ship", Blitzo VERY QUICKLY makes eye contact with Stolas who has a look of panic on his face. Blitzo is seeking VALIDATION from Stolas in this sharp, subtle second of screentime, as if to ask

"Well, ARE we in one?"

And then what happens next...Stolas remains silent, Blitzo's ex joins in to announce how selfish Blitzo was in bed with her, tearing him down further. Stolas stands up like he's going to put a stop to it but then Ozzie notices him and interrogates him about sleeping with Blitzo.

Blitzo looks incredibly ashamed and guilty as Stolas blushes with similar feelings...and hides his face behind his menu; HIS BIGGEST MISTAKE IN THE SERIES SO FAR.

Time Stamp: 12:24

The look on Blitzo's face as he grits his teeth and darts his eyes away basically says

"Yeah, I should have known...boy am I an idiot for trusting him to stand up for me".

(look how SHOCKED he is...wow, this hurts fr ;_;)

This is a silent betrayal on Stolas's part. Afterall, his reputation is on the line, so if he were to defend Blitzo, it confirms they are in fact, dating. He chose his pride over Blitzo and Blitzo is crushed by this betrayal.

Moxxie finishes his song and kisses his wife tenderly. Stolas watches this and also wants to have an affectionate moment with Blitzo (who is rightfully glaring daggers at him) and tries to reach for his hand.

Blitzo rejects his touch and suggests they leave. As they do, Blitzo still looks furious and hurt. Stolas is now realizing how badly he screwed up with a "What have I done?" face (13:41)

He even looks disappointed with himself.

After Blitzo drops Stolas off, he thanks him and tries to smooth over the awkwardness with sweet talk but Blitzo just rolls his eyes in disgust and pulls on his face like "I don't want to hear this bullshit".

He responds coldly and curtly, "Yeah." Stolas makes more suggestions to spend time with him, which just makes him even angrier and he snaps

"I'm not fucking you tonight, okay!

I'm really just..." (14:28)

he pauses to wipe a tear because at this point he can barely hold it together (top notch voice acting and animation directing btw)

"...not in the mood, Stolas."

Stolas still tries to talk him into doing couple things unrelated to sex.

Blitzo's face switches back to anger and frustration because Stolas isn't getting the message so he goes for the blunt tactic;

"Stolas, don't act like what we have is anything but YOU wanting ME to fuck you, okay?"

(14:42)

"You make that really clear all the time."

(again his voice sounds like he's about to break down)

"But I-I just can't do it tonight, okay?"

(Finally meets his eye)

"...I'm sorry."

I believe this is code for "I'm sorry we're even in this situation and how your reputation got damaged. " Or, more painfully, "I'm sorry I'm such an embarrassment to you".

Stolas replies "Okay" and takes a deep breath to compose himself. They say goodnight and depart.

An important note here is that Stolas calls him "Blitzo" instead of "Blitzy" to show more respect.

As Blitzo zooms away coldly, Stolas looks up at the sky with tears in his eyes, surprised at how much it hurts.

He then sits down with his head in his hands in anguish...because he's getting that

"Oh...no. These feelings are real" epiphany.

And as if this wasn't enough angst, Blitzo collapses onto his couch at home, goes through the memories on his phone and starts sobbing.

I'm going to be real with you; this is the most heart-breaking shit I have ever seen in an adult show of this type. It's also the first time a show of this type got me to cry.

The last six minutes have revealed so much information without spoonfeeding it to the audience because the show RESPECTS its audience.

To recap:

*Blitzo takes Stolas on a first official date to use him

*Stolas is extremely happy about it

*Blitzo gets humilated and looks to Stolas for validation

*Stolas betrays him and breaks his heart

*Blitzo snaps that their relationship is nothing more than lust-driven sex

*Stolas realizes he's actually in love with Blitzo and it's a huge problem because (he believes) that it's unrequited.

*Blitzo breaks down because the ONE person whom he thought would protect him didn't do so.

So these two are convinced that neither one loves the other...while the irony is, it's quite the opposite.

Because if Blitzo REALLY didn't feel anything towards Stolas, he would not have gotten this emotional.

Yes, they are both lonely...but I really don't think that's all there is between them.

So..........we know WHEN they started falling...now the question is why;

I think the answer's quite simple; single-target affection.

It was mentioned in S2 that Stolas and Stella did sleep together ONE TIME...but Stolas didn't enjoy it at all. He is stuck with a wife who hates him so much that she put a HIT on him...and a daughter who thinks he's a loser. Blitzo is pretty much the one person in his life who is able to make him happy. That one small, bright spot. He enjoys the sex with him but he also simply enjoys his company, as shown in Ozzie's episode. He is thrilled to simply talk to him about his day...and do anything else that couples do. They're complete opposites. Stolas is an intellectual but naive and sheltered. Blitzo is poorly educated but cynical and street-smart. Opposites attract...though this is likely more from Stolas's POV than Blitzo's.

In other words, Stolas is into bad boys xD lmao

In Blitzo's case, Stolas is the only character who shows him physical affection which he desperately craves. He's pretty tsundere about it most of the time...but I think he actually does enjoy that attention...especially when he's always getting disrespected by Moxxie and Loona..and quite a lot of people around him. BUT he's too scared to get serious with anyone because of past trauma and he also believes that no one could possibly love him as a person. :(

Reasons I Think This Love is Real

Aside from what I pointed out in the Ozzie's episode...there's quite a lot of evidence, esp from Stolas's POV.

After he realizes he's in love, he goes to Asomodeous for an ALTERNATIVE method for Blitzo to use so they will no longer sleep together. He wants to set Blitzo free. Which means he DOES truly love him because love is about being generous to the other person. He COULD be totally selfish about it but he isn't.

Asomodeous mentions how against love potions he is and Stolas agrees. He thinks that's out of the question.

In S2 E6 OOPS

Fizz: Seems your taste has gotten more 'regal', lately?

Blitz: Yeah, well unlike you, I fuck who I want WHEN I want. I'm not gonna be tied down to some big blue-blood asshole.

Fizz: You coulda fooled me the way Prince was cozying up to you at Ozzie's.

Blitz (gets very defensive) HEY! Stolas only cares about have a rugged peasant raw-dog him into his mattress, okay!

It's nothing...(gets hesistant and looks away)...you know...

(Fizz gives him a 'bitch please' look xD)

"it's nothing else."

Fizz: Then why were you even there?

Blitz: OTHER very important reasons of course.

Fizz: Whatever. I don't actually care.

Blitz: Stolas is just a loud, thirsty BITCH!

(Fizz is rolling his eyes again)

Blitz: He loves feeling the thrill of getting dicked by the lower class.

It's a novelty to him.

Fizz: LITERALLY just said I don't care!

Blitz: And then he'll call me and try to see how my day was!

And he'll pretend to care about me and comment on my photos laugh at my jokes...

Fizz: (Smirking) OH! That's definitely your clue right there that it's all bullshit!

Blitz: I KNOW, RIGHT??

Fizz: (Making a 'What in idiot' expression, shaking his head)

Blitz: HE'S JUST A FAKE, PRIVELEDGED ASSHOLE...

Fizz: Sounds like you just hate him for being a prince!

No one (laughs) and I mean NO ONE pretends to care that much just for a cheap lay.

All right. IF ANYONE knows what real love is like, it's Fizzaroli...who is in a very HEALTHY relationship with Asomodeous. He recognizes the signs because he's IN that place. He sees it...and he's annoyed that Blitzo keeps denying it and brushing it off...yet clearly can NOT stop talking about Stolas (amusing irony)

To sum up (this freaking essay lol) 'Stolitz' ABSOLUTELY has the potential to be pure and true...these two just need to communicate...or Stolas has to PROVE to Blitzo that he's serious about his feelings in another way.

There is no doubt that this ship is 100% endgame and is a case of the 'Earn Your Happy Ending' Trope. I look forward to the rest of the journey. Ron is putting my feelings about Stolitz in a perfect phrase:

I kinda love the development of Fizz. Okay more than kinda. Hear me out.

Spoilers for the latest episode!! Also this is long.

When we first see him, he's cocky, super confident, and immediately starts shitting on Blitz and just going off on him. And I loved that, ngl. But yeah! Bold, confident, bit of an asshole.

When we next see him, we get a few sides of him:

We see him in private with his boyfriend. He's still cocky and shit, but he's also a little softer towards his lover. We also see that he clearly prefers to just avoid things he's anxious about. He doesn't want to bring up the newspaper article. He skirts around the issue of him going out without bodyguards.

We see him in private with Blitzo. We see him holding a grudge. He's angry, so lashes out, but also when Blitzo starts explaining his side to him, we can see confusion and hurt. As he relaxes around Blitzo, he becomes a bit more like he is with Ozzie: cocky, but doesn't handle anxiety well.

We see him in tricky situations. He acts confident, but he's clearly scared, and alternates between exaggerating his behaviour to hide it, and being clearly panicked. He also clearly cannot handle as much as he pretends.

By the end of this episode, we can see that his first appearance wasn't entirely who he is. He is a cocky lil shit, and that's great. But he's also not great in high stress situations. On stage he can call out his ex-best-friend-almost-boyfriend and laugh about it, because it's low stress. But put him in a hostage situation? Yeah, no, that's high stress.

This also relates to his childhood. He was a clown, and a well liked (and apparently well known) performer. He can handle a stage performance. But then he went through the massive fucking trauma of the fire and a life altering injury. It kinda doesn't shock me that he might have some anxiety problems, and be prone to panic in high stress situations.

Then there's the latest episode! We see so much of him here and I love it. Some key elements.

Him as a performer again. On stage, although we can see he's uncomfortable and nervous, he's in his natural element. He assumes the over the top persona, he interacts with the fans (although as with his first appearance, is not okay with the creepy ones.) And importantly...

He's nervous specifically because this time he's up against competition. That's a big difference between him now vs him in his first appearance. He's comfortable on stage, yes, and he's confident in his skills. He knows he's good. But in this competition, being good isn't enough. He has to be the best. And as an artist, I can relate here. I am good at art, but if I judge myself against others, or am judged against others, I fear I will fall short, because I'm good, but I'm not the best.

Him and Ozzie is interesting to me here. Yes the relationship is sweet lol. But also, it's the dynamic. Ozzie is a prince of hell. And it's very clear, imo, that Fizz typically does not need to worry about being messed with because his boyfriend will come to his rescue. But this episode, and the previous one? He's separated from him. He's held hostage, just hoping his boyfriend helps him before he's hurt. And then Ozzie can't be with him, so he's dealing with Mammon and creepy fans and the anxiety of competing all on his own. It's hard to be confident when you're on your own. Notably, whilst Blitz definitely imo plays a role, it's after he receives encouragement from Ozzie in that environment, that specifically gets to the root of the issue, that he's able to stand up to himself.

And obviously, him and Mammon. A very clear exploitative and abusive relationship there. Fizz feels he can't leave, and there's a whole mix of reasons there, but mostly the emotional part. He feels he owes Mammon, and Mammon clearly gets threatening when you try to go against him.

So where does this leave us with his character?

Fizzarolli has grown up on stage. He's confident in his performing skills, and knows just how good he is. He has a cocky persona, but as we see with the deaf fan, he does have a softer side for non-creepy fans.

Despite this confidence, he's not confident that he holds up in comparison to others. This seems to be a mix of his innate self and Mammon's abuse. On top of this, he knows that for all his skill in performing, he's not so skilled at actually looking after himself. He fails to protect himself from those who want to hurt him, he's easily exploited, and if not for dating a prince of hell, he'd probably be a lot worse off tbh.

All of that means that he's actually a fairly anxious guy, and prone to panic when things go wrong. I imagine some of his childhood might be at play here. Someone mentioned the golden child and scapegoat dynamic between him and Blitzo and...yeah. Growing up knowing that the guy who messes up on stage is all but disowned by his dad is going to make you nervous about messing up, even if you're great.

And despite it all, he also genuinely cares for others. He cares about the non-creepy fans, he loves his boyfriend very much, he forgives Blitzo pretty easily, and doesn't seem to hold grudges easily. Like to hold a grudge against Blitzo he had to sustain severe injuries resulting in the complete amputation of all four limbs and the loss of his horns!

He's outwardly confident, he's sarcastic and good humoured, if a bit of an asshole. He has a soft side in private around his loved ones, that sometimes shows publicly when he's not on stage acting the part. He's got a lot of understandable anxiety about being compared to others, and he flourishes best with the support of those he cares about. He's not just his performer persona, but he's also not just soft and anxious. There's a lot of duality in him and I love that.

Robo Fizz will always be the real Fizzaralli to me just for the fact with how well he was dishing out insults towards Blitzo, handing Blitzo his ass on a platter when Blitzo started firing at him, and his Greed outfit more appealing then whatever the other real Fizz was wearing during his previous/current episode debuts. Most importantly Robo Fizz seems like the type to hold a grudge/not forgive at all which is something that I wish Real Fizz would have done when interacting with Blitzo.

I read this manga discussing about bullying. The one who get bullied is often being ignored by everyone but when the perpetrator was exposed everyone including in class blame the perpetrator but not themselve for also being complicit. Another manga who have similar theme is Koe no tachi/ A silent voice. This manga take the perspective from the bully why do they commit bullying. It's shown us they do that in order to fit in, to impress somebody, and the last thing no one hold them accountable. The mc after being use as scapegoat and he get blamed for everything so he the one who get bullied. Nishimiya Shouko The girl he bullied is deaf since the school accomodate to her disability she can't communicate with anyone. So the girl despite was being bullied she just want to make friend, she is not looking for revenge or hold grudges. She just want to be treated as equal and this media like this as always adult being incompetent but it work and was pretty realistic. Her character development was slow and i can see her from just wanted to stay home. Finally she want to have her own dream becoming hair stylist and live on her own. One of the character who reminded of loona from this manga is Naoko Ueno

She was violent and abrasive. But i found her to be more forgiving and understandable than loona. Her wrong doing is not being played as comedy or it's quirky thing. Her action is seen as wrong. The reason she bullied because she believe nishimiya was using her disability for taking advantage of people. Her mindset was not right but put a bit more nuance, she was responsible making sure shouko grade can make her continued to the next class so she won't continued stuck in fifth or six grade. When she psyhically assaulted nishimiya and how loona attacking blitzo is very different in framing. People reacted are massive different a lot people are very angry with ueno but with loona they excused her behavior. Ueno in both case i found some who infantilized excusing her behavior but also people who deemed her to be complete monster who doesn't deserve redemption, loona is more often people forgave her so quickly just like that. Naoko Ueno she changed and have character development but loona she remain the same as ever. Ueno doesn't have any tragic backstory from seeing her perspective despite her being unlikable character she have growth. Loona she is the unlikable character whom the creator thought to be likable. Simple as that

A Little Moxxie Love:Now THAT’S Comedy!!

Somedays was just another day in hell, especially in Imp City. Violence on the streets, the odd riot here or there as its denizens of imps, hellhounds, sinners and all the manner of hellborn walked to and fro going about their business. For Moxxie, his business would've been enjoying a rare bit of peace and quiet at the I.M.P office, basking in the downtime before and inbetween jobs or gigs.

But noooo, could't have that now could? Maybe even just some quality time with his lovely wife, Christ on a stick, he'd take some personal time with Loona or one of his, what was the word he was looking for? Oh right, Booty Calls. But insead of any of that, here he was in the living world, sneaking his way around a local park somewhere in Burbank, California looking for a tree house.

No not like some little cabin club house for some neighbourhood tykes, as like an actual, literal treehouse!! A very infamous one at that for you see this treehouse belonged to quite the celebrity. One our favourite little Imp Hitman had the distinct pleasure of being designated to deliver the client's revenge by proxy. As the sharply dressed, put own upon killer for hire mumbled to himself like a certain dastardly mutt, hauling a package securely in his arms, he couldn't help but reflect on how he wound up here. Thinking back to how it all started with that goddamn wolf....

~Imp City, The Pride Ring in Hell as overseen by King Lucifer Morningstar. To be precise, The Office of I.M.P (Immediate Murder Professionals, duh!!),a few moments ago~

??:"And that's why I want that damn-blasted squirrel dead!! DEAD!! YA' HEAR ME!! D,E,A,D DEAD as a doornail!! As dead as she made me!!"* Moxxie along with his ever lovely wife Millie and Blitzo's surly teen hellhound secretary and dispatcher Loona simply sat at their usual meeting room table, varying degrees of deadpan expressions on their faces as their latest potential client seemed to finally finishing his rambling tangent of ranting and raving, nonplussed as he seemed be coughing up a storm. The sinner before them was particular as he looked similar to but sure as fuck wasn't a hellhound like Loona. No this wolf was a sinner of the recently deceased variety and depending how well you knew your toon celebrities, he was a famous one.*

Loona:*shares a glance to her imp co-workers,slash friends with benefits (Don't tell Blitzo,none of his business what a grown hellhound does with her sex and love life.) before she rolls her eyes as she types at her phone.)"Right so yeah no shit Sherlock,we get that. You want this lady offed, kind of what we do here Pops..."

??:”That’s Walter Wolf to you, you punk ass whatever! Kids these days not even a mister, no it’s just pops, you’re about as worse than that squirrel!!”*The hellhound effortlessly ducked the old sinner’s cane as he once again went on another rambling tangent. Loona and the imp couple rolling their eyes as they waited for Yiddish accented codger to refocus. Yes sir, the one and only Walter Wolf, archenemy regular punch bag of Slappy Squirrel. Still holding a grudge and no doubt having wound up here because he finally bit the big one and it really came to bite him in his senile furry behind.*

Moxxie:*deciding it was time at least to try and get this conversation back on track. Particularly before the old lupine sinner caused himself to die...again. Was it possible to die twice in Hell for a sinner?* "Sir yes we get it. As Loona told you, we make it our business to go to the living world and get the likes of you their payback. So details would be nice, especially if there's any specific way you want her to die?"

Walter:*paused mid rant as he adjusted his glasses, squinting at Moxxie.* "Alright you little red skinned horned opossum, that's how you want it, you got it. I want you to take this little bundle right here and plant it somewhere in that uppity Slappy's tree in Burbank. Put it somewhere she's never gonna find it and KABOOM!! Ol' Walter Wolf finally wins one!! In your face ya uppity squirrel bitch!!"

Millie and Loona could only narrow their eyes with deadpan intent at the coughing, wheezing old wolf sinner, given the state of him implied exactly how he'd died in the first place. But hey leave it to old Walter Wolf to never learn a lesson, right? As Moxxie nervously eyed the package he now held in his hand, hearing the ticking of a clock as beneath its simple light brown wrapping paper was a bomb. Realising with little to no doubt he was going to have to go to the living world and actually try to kill Slappy Squirrel of all people!!

Moxxie:"....Oh crumbs...."*Now really given the circumstances and the magnitude of the situation he was about to find himself in? Who could blame him for being only able to respond like that? if Blitzo were here, there was no doubt he'd tell moxxie man up, stop being a little bitch and go kill the old squirrel!! It was their job!!*

~And now back to our regular feature present~

That moment of reflection made Moxxie grit his teeth and spit, if not outright hiss as he reminded himself if and when he saw that old wolf again? He'd slap the absolute shit out of him, like it wasn't bad enough he was going to try kill Slappy Squirrel? One of the few fondest moments in his otherwise abysmal childhood had been watching old Slappy cartoons from the living world with his gone far too soon saint of a mom. But of course sweet precious Millie took a moment to convince him to take up this job alone as 1. Blitzo was too busy with his usual shenanigans and 2. She felt going solo would do his confidence a world of good.

So of course he continued on, mustering up the fortitude to carry out his mission. Besides which he knew he had to make it fast enough since that stupid fucking wolf didn't tell him how long he had exactly left on the timer for this bomb!! Any further hesitation or delays and KABOOM!! but finally the sweet relief as he found himself at what had to be the tree that the squirrel called home.

It was fortunate especially for our fave little imp boi that it was dark out, made for a little stealth. Millie was onto something, doing this solo was doing wonders for his self esteem especially when he didn't have to be overly elaborate like at that summer camp trying to be in charge. Unlike that mission this would be direct and to the point, get in and plant the bomb then hightail out of there like bat out well, hell. Determined more than ever, the imp managed to pry open a window soon as he got close to the house, entering the living room so far so good, still unseen and unheard.

Now all he needed was a good place to plant the explosive package and he could haul his crimson behind out of here. But he had to be still smart enough about this, Slappy was a crafty one in her cartoons and there was no doubt age only increased that. Spying around the room as he stopped his sights upon a large pile in the corner. Helluva Boss Season 2 Ep 1 spoilers

Just some musings about Stella, Octavia and the family dynamics.

So after the glorious start of season 2 and all that amazing/sad backstory on Stolas and his family, I just had to rewatch episode 2 of season 1. Naturally.

And something Octavia said in response to Stolas at the end stood out to me:

Stolas: "I'm sorry sweetie... I thought you loved it here."

Octavia: "When I was a kid and my parents didn't hate each other."

This implied strongly that Octavia was unaware of any pre-existing animosity between her parents prior to Stolas' one night stand with Blitzo.

Also in the very beginning of the episode, when the timeskip happens, we skip from happy little Octavia to unhappy teenage Octavia. Back then, it seemed like her taste in clothes and music might come from the disruption of the household peace.

So now we get back to season 2, episode 1:

We find out that Stolas and Stella were in an arranged marriage that has been unhappy and unwanted from the beginning. They never liked each other. We also, more remarkably, see Stella openly mistreat and verbally abuse Stolas. (Later also implied that physical abuse happened as well, judging from Stolas reaction to her trying to slap him.)

We are shown even more family portraits than before, those of which show Stolas in his marriage with Stella, they both look extremely unhappy in it.

So how does that add up with Octavia remembering a happy family?

Stolas said he tried hard to make this work but it was never enough. For Octavia's sake, he tried. In all pictures with his daughter he is also very clearly genuinely happy.

But what about Stella?

We've seen that she still yelled at and belittled him in public without a care.

...well. My only assumption is that since Octavia wasn't around in those scenes, Stella tried to be at least somewhat civil around her daughter. Otherwise, I don't think any child would have been THAT oblivious to an already broken household. (I mean, yeah, that tends to happen too if you don't know anything else, but I don't think this was the case here.)

My assumption is that after that one night stand affair, Stella just completely stopped bothering to pretend in front of her daughter. (Since she had the "moral high ground", why bother being civil?)

But I think this was also not a sudden turnaround, but something that gradually seeped out from over the years.

As we can see from the portraits, they have always been cold to each other. Even in portraits with Octavia, Stella doesn't look quite happy to be there. She just endured.

It also seems very clear that she was never that involved in raising her child after she "popped out the egg". In the flashback, it's Stolas who goes to comfort Octavia after a nightmare, with Stella not wanting to get up. In Octavia's childhood drawings, we only see herself holding her father's hand. He was very obviously the one who organised the three of them going to LooLooLand when Octavia was a child.

I genuinely think Stella never wanted to be a mother. She was obligated to, and she did the duty she was forced into. Afterwards, she left it to Stolas, who was more invested in it.

So, Octavia's childhood nostalgia might be influenced by her mother never being much around, with Stolas doting extra hard on her. He compensated for Stella's absence with overbearing love, so that she never really felt the lack of it back then.

His unhappiness probably later hits the peak because Octavia is growing up and no longer needs him so much as she used to. The only thing getting him through this marriage is "gone".

The same might be true for Stella. She was not as invested, but still trapped by her duties.

So once Octavia grew up, Stella turned to the things she wanted and is getting bolder in showing her distaste for Stolas who she held her own grudges against.

Stella wants a social life, she wants parties and she wants good sex.

(The latter she ain't getting, so she is (wrongfully) lashing out at Stolas. She is using him as a punching bag for being trapped in this marriage, even though he is in the same position.)

The "no divorce party" is their 25 year anniversary.

(seems like it's either not a thing in hell, or they are so publicly unhappy that no one thinks they seriously would celebrate that)

It's published in a newspaper, and Stolas is spitting out his drink when he sees it.

It's probably a new development of humiliation in their relationship.

My guess is that she never was quite this blatantly obvious about it to people other than her social circle. (While letting Stolas feel her hate in full in private.)

From Stella's own words it seems like she throws parties often, or at least as often as she can get away with.

Again, my guess is that those things have increased over the recent years and that Octavia is not present during those occasions she publicly bashes him.

Even tho she is quite literally loudly gossiping about him on the phone while Octavia sleeps.

This one has me torn because she could wake up at any moment and hear that?? On the other hand she is sleeping and clearly not hearing it. Do owl demons canonly wake up late and is that just a thing for Stella to use mornings to badmouth her husband? xD Who knows. Or maybe this just Stella already no longer giving a fuck. Maybe for Octavia, it was growing up and being able to see more clearly what was happening between them that already caused cracks in that childhood ideation of their marriage, where the affair was only the final blow.

I can only go off theories what Stella behaved like around Octavia before the big bang.

So far their relationship is somewhat between non existent and cold.

I would kinda like to see Octavia blow up at her mom like she did with her dad. I don't think there's even a canonical exchange of words between them. It's always Stolas caring for Octavia and Stolas and Stella being at war.

According to Stolas, she leaves with Octavia on weekends.

Where to? What for? (Well, probably only to hurt Stolas by taking away his daughter. ...does Stolas only have free days on weekends?)

It's probably not even that interesting. Despite taking Octavia, that doesn't mean she actually spends quality time with her daughter. Octavia is probably left to her own devices and ignored..... but I'm so curious!

So far Octavia was only seen blaming Stolas. I want to know how she sees her mother.

With the latest episode, I think it's safe to say that there's a Robo-Fizz model built for anything

Not only does Mammon claim "We got a Fizzie for every occasion", but we're given specific examples:

No one told that Robo-Fizz to insult a park guest, much less attack him---destroying all in his path just to "get back" at someone he disliked. Why is a simple robot clown even capable of disliking someone, having a rivalry with them or holding a grudge against them?

Perhaps that Robo-Fizz at Mammon's theme park was specially made and other models don't have those emotions. They might follow commands and make conversation, but these are just programs: automated responses to specific criteria ("If condition x is true, then activate protocol y") rather than individual thought

Yet now, we have psychologist Robo-Fizzes---something that has to analyze patients, monitor their behavior, draw information from a database and make logical conclusions (we hope). Although this model would be more advanced, it doesn't require actual intelligence. But to see these other Robo-Fizzes wince at what they're doing (or what's being done to them) while straining to keep a smile implies they are feeling, thinking creatures

Regardless of whether Robo-Fizzes are self-aware, they do seem to be fulfilling some of the potential roles of robots, androids and/or artificial intelligences: performing simple but monotonous tasks (groceries shopping), highly dangerous tasks (firefighting) or assisting experts by performing tasks that don't require a certain level of expertise (such as a tech or nurse screening a patient before calling the doctor)

But at the same time, this presents a problem for workers: a robot that needs no food or sleep, has no social obligations and suffers no mental exhaustion would be preferable to a human employee, cutting costs for the management because robots are not paid wages or require workplace benefits (health insurance, sick days, retirement funds, etc). Are there imps and hellhounds who protest the use of Robo-Fizzes? Do they feel Robo-Fizzes "threaten" their careers?

He is a constant threat even to Moxxie and circles around the problem with jabs and veiled threats. We see that he can put on an act. Even if it's extremely obvious he's a danger to everyone, he still manages to play it up that he's friendly at least, in the eyes of Millie and Blitzo though Blitzo is easily fooled by flattery which we have already seen used by Striker.

Millie knows when something is up with Moxxie but she doesn't seem to realize they're in danger and maybe that's just because they're family and her family is close to each other and because she's trying to make a good impression for her father in law that she never met.

They got married and it seems like that was news to Crim either because Moxxie left and tried to stay gone or because Crim had something against Millies family/upbringing. It's even possible Moxxie just straight up told him to stay away from him before the wedding.

There's a few things that happen too, including Chaz who I am trying to figure out still like, is he an ex or is he someone Moxxie used to know and ran off with to get out of that life and Crim is still holding a grudge over it. It's even possible Crim is the reason Chaz comes back into the picture (Since we see him with Moxxie and Millie at the house)

Either way, Crim has a problem with Moxxie working for Blitzo because he's hells biggest clown at this point and he definitely doesn't like Millie for something and though I don't think he would kill Moxxie, I do think he would hint that he could make things a problem for him for being a disappointment. No man with that much fear earned respect is going to be impressed by his son working for a laughing stock especially with his own business being what it is.

You make some great points in your S2/E1 Helluva Boss review

I wonder if they felt they didn't have enough time to have child Stella interact with child Stolas, but I think there was a way to make Stella a character that's set up for the audience to hate without flattening her as much as that episode did. (And maybe they will develop her more? Idk)

I guess I'm picturing child Stolas and Stella interacting where they're trying to behave the way they know their family wants to, stumbling through their first meeting and Stolas freaks out about something Stella does (picturing the rest of his life married to someone he doesn't want to even be friends with) and Stella holds a personal grudge.

I just think (at the moment) Stella's role as an antagonist feels like she's a bitch just for the sake of being a bitch and narratively I believe it's less interesting for her character. I don't want her to be necessarily "sympathetic." I usually find compelling character drama can help ground and compliment humor a lot for a show.

(also I thought it was hilarious how excited the hellhounds were that detained Blitzo because they were dog enthusiastic about doing their job haha)

The episode really just started out with 'hey, she's basically Angelica Pickles' and just kept on in that vein.

(That part with the hellhounds guards was great, especially the tail-wagging)

My Blitzø Headcanons

Blitzo Headcanons blitzo is a descendant of a long family of cold bloodthirsty killers called kriegers. (alias is also his last name) the mark on his forehead is a family symbol for those who have inherited the krieger's will blitzo was born in a circus in the pride ring alongside his brothers blitzo has two family heirlooms two golden weapons that were your father's and a ruby skull choker from your mother blitzo and fizzaroli are brothers they were united until "the accident" but he had to separate because fizzaroli became "too proud" it was blitzo who threw barbie in rehab despite not being able to speak, the two are very close and would do anything to meet again. blitzo worked as bodyguard and composer for verosika mayday blitzo broke up with verosika mayday for the simple fact that she uses it for her business after the end verosika pays the victim in front of blitzo showing that she is over him blitzo has demonic powers but the reason he doesn't use them is because he doesn't need them. blitzo fakes his age because he wants to feel young because he is over 50 years old blitzo has a high defense mechanism on its spikes he can grow more spikes on his back so he can increase his killer skills and instincts blitzo made a contract with belphegor to adopt loona blitzo worked for mammon as a circus performer and soon as a clown in loo loo land he holds a grudge against mammon for "causing the accident" blitzo is friends with some overlords and other powerful beings on voxtagram blitzo has talents for musical theater but he never showed these talents because his father didn't allow it he sings better than moxxie and has better taste in music blitzo and his brothers hide their past as they refuse to tell anyone about their tragedy at the circus and family he even banned the IMP from talking about it his family is something he wants to keep hidden he hides anything about her even his own cell phone from loona claws the white spots on blitzo's body are scars from his past stolas and other demons think the imp scars are actually just white spots although stolas always protects him blitzo can take care of himself if he wasn't so clumsy he could have run the imp without any problems blitzo is a succubus and imp hybrid of lust and wrath blitzo's relatives (his grandfather example) are still alive blitzo's father is the closest living relative blitzo hates himself always doodling himself on photos for the simple fact that he screwed up after all the tragedies before the accident and after the accident blitzo believes he will never be loved and does not deserve to be loved even wanting to be loved and spoils any relationship he has or does (however verosika mayday was an exception) blitzo not only works at IMP but also works for the owner of the building where the agency is located

RELATIONS !

bibi's note; this is to show everybody my self inserts has befriended/loved (?)

Bibiyana Kovaćevič ; (kaya ship)

Kazutora Hanemiya; a little brother/child figure, they've known each other since 2002. bibyana or otherwise known to her community as bibi takes care of him as her own sibling/child.

Blitzo; her little brother, he was always out and about rarely coming home some nights as he spent his time with baji and hanma.

Keisuke Baji; while there isn't much interaction between bibi and baji, she looked after him when he, kazutora, and blitz would hang out. she treats him as her child, someone to look after. bibyana has spoken to ryoko a few time. visited his grave after she and blitzo got reunited.

Takeomi Akashi; a comfort person, turned lover for bibi, when she was in a bad spot she happen to meet him and his sister. senju, seeing Itty bitty sparks decided to play cupid ! and it took off from there.

Sanzu Haruchiyo; nothing more then a 'hi' here, a bento there and a quick plug hookup. though it turns into bibi making sure sanzu eats and he gives her weed and facts about takeomi. she has gotten mistaken as sanzu's gf.

Senju Karawagi; simply a good female friend, bibyana see's her as a younger sister but also bsf ! they hangout every so often, visiting cafe's, shopping, senju trying to get bibi to introduce her into witchcraft.

Blitzo ; (shuzo ship)

Hanma Shuji; anything, everything. a soul mate, twin flame, whatever you call it. shuji's been with blitzo for a while, knowing him like the back of his hand.

Bibyana Kovaćevič; his older sister, blitz went MIA after bloody halloween. took a while for bibi to find him again and rekindle their relationship.

Kazutora Hanemiya; To say 'friends' is a lot. they hung out but blitzo liked hanging with baji and tora just ended up coming along. blitz grew a resentment for him because his sister took him in like a stray cat, taking his sisters time away from him. strong dislike but they came to make up.

Keisuke Baji; nothing much actually, they were friends as kids but bloody halloween happened,, blitzo shut down feeling extremely guilty.

Manjiro Sano; boss of bonten in the future, though he holds a grudge at blitz for disapearing/changing sides after bloody halloween. Blitz doesn't know how to approach him.

Sanzu Haruchiyo; a fellow junkie, one looks after the other if they tend to go to far and if they're both out of it rindou is dealing with their asses. probably slept together once or twice 🤪

Hajime Kokonoi; Blitzo uses him to get more money outta gambling. like an investment, blitz borrows money to gamble, plays a couple games, gives back whatever they borrowed and keeps whatever they won.

Helluva Boss AU

which is still un-named

blame @petitprincess1 for getting me into the fandom

so lets set some stuff up

first of all Barbie Wire is the boss of imp, though the rest of it stays the same (still has moxxie loona and millie)

“it’s Barb now the ie is silent”

They had a brief fling with Verosika before they stole her credit card and car

though they didn't use that for horse riding lessons

(tell me what animal she should obssess over please)

and instead of stolas she sleeps with stella

now the episodes go the same except her interactions with some characters are different

like she still intrudes upon M&M to feel some kind of familial love due to what happened between her and fizz and blitzo

at Loo Loo Land robofizz talks about how she took an easy way out and left everyone in the dust

which pisses her off and starts the fight

the verosika episode stays the same except there's and extra character who we only see the human guise of, and he is being as barbed towards her as Verosika is

“seriously the fuck did i do to you dick?!”

it just gets her more insults and he joins in on her humiliation

during the striker episode there's an unusual incubus with a bandana over the over half of his face is there helping out and representing a demon lord (an oc of mine that ill detail later in a second post)

and how striker is to moxxie in this episode is how the incubus is to her, she figures out he’s the one from the verosika episode that hated her, and apparently still does

it ends with the three of them winning, though barbie though she knows it was barely and likely due to stella being there

anyway the rest of the episode goes the same

then comes the oh so known Ozzie’s incident

as she and stella are humiliated by fizzarolli who makes it clear from how he’s dragging her around and his tone that he really hates her

but then a cage is lowered much to her confusion and out steps that incubus but now without his outfit from the ranch she can see his face

it’s Blitzo (whose o is not silent to separate himself from the nickname barbie called him)

needless to say she was not ready for her brother to sing about

“how they were sibling till one day she abandoned him at the circus and only came back to ‘fuck things up’ and then leave again leaving us (gestures to fizz) to deal with the damage)

now that the episodes are laid out lets get into relationships

like i said latches onto M&M to feel a family bond

she met verosika after Barbie left rehab and after the fling with her stole her card and card

as for her relationship with fizz and blitzo?

it’s bad, so bad

thing was I’m guessing form what we’ve seen in the episode that Loo Loo Land is probably not the best place to work or somewhere you’d want to work forever and after the loss of Tila (i’m assuming she’s dead but we don’t know yet canon wise) she decided to fake having an addiction to be sent to rehab and once she got out she’d just not work for Mammon anymore

she signed no contract so he can’t stop her once she’s well off his grounds

thing is she promised to come back for Blitzo and Fizzarolli (i’d imagine they wanted to always move on to bigger things but Mammon isn’t gonna let his best performers just go) she knew she couldn’t do it alone

so that’s why she bought another imp out of rehab

thing was he was in there for a reason other than addiction, he was there for anger management (ironic i know)

and the reason he “helped” her was cause he has a huge grudge against Mammon from being booted from Loo Loo Land and blamed him for his addiction

somehow this imp managed to get a hold of some grenades that were like a mockery of angel weapons, Barbie has no idea how but he did and she had no idea he had them or planned to use them

anyway he set some off in the main tent (and other places) where fizz and Bltizo were performing

Fizzarolli being on the ground was closer to the blast and the one that got tossed up in the air where Blitzo was on the high wire got them both badly injured

since they were fake angel weapons it didn’t kill them but it cause irreversible damage

for one it threw blitzo from the high wire to the ground knocking him out and leaving him at the mercy of the fire from the grenades

the blast damaged fizz’s limbs to where he couldn’t move and they both got badly burned

Barbie was on the other side of the fair when the fires broke out and wasn’t too worried (since we’ve seen fire doesn’t hurt imps) but when it actually does burn her she runs thinking somehow angels are here

it would be much later that she found out what he did but uh, Mammon got to him first so

yeah

anyway blitzo and fizzarolli wind up in the hospital bot are covered in burns (the white spots) though blitzo more so due to where he unfortunately landed, fizzarolli lost his arms and legs, and with how blitzo landed it badly damaged his arms, and it takes a lot of physical therapy and healing for them to work again

fizz loses most of both his horns and blitzo loses the majority of the horn on the side of his burn, and blitzo was told he was lucky he didn’t go half blind

it was here he also found out that the demon who did this to them was a fromer employee who shouldn’t have been able to get in and should have still been in rehab

and that Barbie was also seen there with him

however the phantom pain Blitzo was dealing with especially in his arms got him addicted to morphine and pain killers, landing him in rehab for a while where he met Verosika

she was in for her alcohol addiction after what happened with his sister and at first she was pissed thinking it he was Barb (im getting sick of doing the thing so now im just gonna do Barb) but realized he wasn’t her

as they got to know each other Blitzo learned what his sister did to her, and finds out that she bought that imp that attacked him and fizz out of rehab, which he tells to verosika

needless to say the relationship between the siblings is soured

they get out later (with verosika buying her way out) and Blitzo finds fizzarolli working at Ozzie’s with new limbs

Fizz is thrilled to see him again, and Blitzo starts working under my OC who works with Asmodeus, leading to him eventually working at Ozzie’s as a performer

he and Verosika are a thing here, and my OC helps bring out the incubus side of him more such as wings and higher sexual appeal (I'm going off the theory that the twins are part succubus/incubus)

he also wears a false horn with a jewelry ring around it to hide where it connects to what’s left of the real one

Barb didn’t know how badly injured the two were till later but couldn’t bring herself to check on them cause she was scared

now while Blitzo definitely disowned her (in front of a lot of demons) as his sister

Fizzarolli hates her

cause the way he sees it not only did she abandon him and Bltizo, she came back, got them really hurt, permanently injuring them both, is the reason Blitzo wound up in rehab, and never came to check on them or apologize or anything

so that's what I've got and yeah Barb has got a lot to do to earn forgiveness
