I See You Fall • Barbie/Blade Runner2049 crossover

•

So this is a bit of a weird crossover, but it's quite interesting to explore. The characters are... well, some are not a carbon copy of their real counterpart, but I think it's really necessary.

There's a little boy in this whole story whose name is literally Noah (you know, The Notebook reference)... the boy is like Ryan when he was little, which is to say, he's cute.

Niander Wallace (from Blade Runner2049) is also in the fanfic, he is not entirely important, he is a friend of K (Joe/Ken) and has an abysmal personality change, since he looks more like Junior from Panic Room 2002 than himself Wallace.

Anyway, I think you could give this a try, you might like it... it's not bad at all.

Joe sighed, he was really tired and his back ached like hell. Ken was standing in the doorway, his face contorted at what he was seeing. There was the man, kneeling on the side of his little son with his face buried in his entwined arms, crying uncontrollably.

It was something Ken had never seen. Joe was falling apart.

Or: Where Ken not only decides to change his name to Joe after his girlfriend Joi dies but also turns out to have a child which he left with his father when he was younger. Simu Liu's Ken is his partner in the police and tries to do his best, Barbie and Allan are Ken's friends and Niander Wallace is Joe's friend and housemate (although he seems to be more of his son's babysitter)

-The Trouble Shooting (1)-

My Mac Pro has died all of sudden since yesterday. I didn’t get too panicked. It was pretty old. But I’ve beginning to tremble by now. Gradually, the square aluminum has been coming into my eyes, and pieces of my panic have begun making a shape, as time passes.

“What should I do with the dead body?” was my question.

Online chat Apple support maybe more essential than bothering friends ‪on Monday morning. I didn’t know my serial number. Someone gave me the answer “Flip over a MacBook and you’ll see the serial number printed on the Mac itself”, when I googled on my iPhone.

We do not ask friends or family to help for solving our problems anymore. We can solve the most problems online. All right, I need to reset frame of my mind from the old time to the present time. Simply, I have to adopt the change.

The old SF movies haven’t been science fictions anymore. People in the past were shocked to see video calls on 2001: A Space Odyssey. Everyone’s walking and taking on video calls by smartphones nowadays.

I wonder if, some people have been already having the holographic companions like the ‪Blade Runner2049.

昨日、突然マックが死んだ。「良くぞここ迄やってくれました」と言う程、古いのでいきなりパニックには落ち入らなかったけど、時間が経つにつれ、無言の四角いアルミニュウムが毎時、毎分、チラチラ目に入り、パニックの破片が一つ、また一つ、ジワジワと形を成し、断片的に震え始めた。

「さて、一夜開けた今、この死体をどうするのか？」が問題だ。

iPhone を取り出して考えた。月曜の朝からマックに詳しい友達の邪魔をするより、マックサポートのチャットだ。でも、シルエル番号分からない、マックが開かないでググったら「マックがつかないなら、ひっくり返せば裏に小さくかいてあるよ」と教えてくれた。

なる程、今は、人に直接聞くより、ある程度の問題解決はオンライン上、一人で出来る時代なのだ。古い過去から現在との気持ちの切り替えが必要だ。

昔のSF映画は、日に日に空想科学で無くなって来ている。キューブリックの2001年宇宙の旅の中でビデオ電話を見て、皆驚いていたのに、あっと言う間に現在は普通にスマホで歩きながらビデオ通話をしている。

「ブレードランナー2049」みたいにホログラムの交流が当たり前の社会も、実は既に来ているのだろうか？
