Just a clip of one of my betta fish getting a close look at the cherry shrimp and Amano shrimp in his tank.

I'm pretty sure he only saw shrimp for the first time a couple of days before this but he seems fascinated by them.

My female betta fish would have eaten as many of them as possible if she got the chance and I ended up having to remove the shrimp from her tank.

This male betta fish is totally different though and he loves to watch the cherry shrimp in his tank.

El pez betta (Betta splendens) es un pez dulceacuícola muy popular por sus llamativos colores, aunque los ejemplares silvestres presentan colores menos llamativos y aletas más reducidas. Esta especie es nativa del sudeste asiatico donde también se le conoce como “el luchador de siam” debido a su conducta territorial y a los enfrentamientos efectuados entre los machos. Entre sus particularidades más llamativas está la presencia de un órgano llamado laberinto, el cual le permite respirar fuera del agua, siempre y cuando haya suficiente humedad en el aire y la elaboración de un nido de burbujas por parte del macho sobre la superficie del agua, donde el mismo colocara los huevos fecundados y se encargará de su cuidado.

It's the last day of keeping Kuhli in my other betta fish tank setup to see if it helps Stitch, my other betta stop glass surfing.

He's been exploring this tank and getting to know the new environment but I think he definitely prefers the other aquarium.

He just seems more active in the Walstad betta fish tank that I usually keep him in and with Stitch still glass surfing in that tank, I see no reason not to switch them back.

Aqueon should do away with its harmful and unnecessary line of Betta-specific tanks which are mostly under 1 gallon, some as low as 0.25 gallon.

Aqueon sells many excellent aquariums (5 gallons and above) that will actually provide Bettas with a quality of life.

The Aqueon Betta fish tanks are a way for them to maximize profit opportunities by producing cheap and "easy" tanks that mislead consumers. People buy them thinking Bettas must prefer tiny spaces and that these tanks are low-maintenance, but in order to keep water conditions tolerable they would actually need to do water changes every 1-2 days. The cramped size does not allow Bettas to perform their natural behavior of exploring, patrolling, and hiding.

How can consumers take Aqueon seriously when they claim, "it's all about the fish?" when with Bettas, it's all about profit?

Today VS The day I got her! What a glow-up! 🐟🐠🐡🦈 When I got Shub-Finnurath, she had one completely translucent fin on her belly, now it's bright red! Her lips were pure white, and now they're colouring up red and black!! (I was concerned at first, until I realized it was her pigment showing up!) I just feel bad for fancy goldfish in general. The poor things are like if someone looked at a pug's face and went "yes, excellent, let's do that to an animal's entire body". And the ones with the bulging eyes! Eyes aren't supposed to be like that! Let alone the bubble things that are so prone to getting damaged if you do things like, uh, give them substrate to dig in like they enjoy. Not happy that "balloon belly" selective breeding is spreading into other fish. Balloon belly rainbows? Ugh.
