I joined this facebook group out of morbid curiosity and to lurk and find stuff for this blog.
Saw this post and wanted to vomit.
It’s so bad even the Nano'ers are ragging on it lmao

Just when I think the group can’t get any worse.

I can think of at least 10 reasons why you can't keep the water clean.

god that one post about not testing water... yes aquarists in the past didn’t test water but they would also consistently lose lots of fish while establishing their tanks. i have a book on fishkeeping from 1966 that explains how pH and hardness can kill fish and plants or make them thrive.
That’s interesting! Would you like to share the title and author of the book? People who follow this blog may be interested.

Wait, what size tank do guppies need? I have no intention of ever getting any, but I'm curious about their actual care requirements now.
Personally, I recommend no less than a 20 gallon for a small group, and go up from there if you want more, or if you have a mixed sex group, as they breed very quickly.
EDIT: This is a decent care sheet, but I object to their recommendations for tank mates, as guppies do better in harder, more alkaline water, and many of the suggested fish do better in softer, more acidic water.

Nano, a very educational group where they don’t even know how to overwinter fish.

Recognize they don’t get paid enough to deal with your dumb ass and go home. Also, stop buying fish during a pandemic, you plague rat.

Have you considered cycling your tank without killing fish? Or, better yet, put a moss ball in there because it’s not suitable for either species.
