Saw this ridiculous thread on twitter that really deserves to be taken apart so lets go:
First of all while it's obvious that Buck is attracted to T*mmy (and at this point likes him a lot considering they're now dating) in 7x04 the the main person who's attention he was trying to get was Eddie's. I did an entire breakdown of that ep btw for anyone who is still confused about what was really happening there.

Buck goes to see Maddie after the basketball incidient and this is how the conversation goes
Maddie: You didn't mean to hurt him did you?
Buck: I don't know. I was pissed you know. Seeing him and T*mmy being such good friends after only two weeks. I felt left out and I guess I was trying to get his attention.
I know that you B/T shippers desperately want to see 7x04 as Buck sent the entire episode being super smitten over T*mmy but that is just not the story that show is telling. The entire conversation that Maddie and Buck are having in this scene prior to T*mmy even being mentioned is about Eddie. Buck and Maddie are talking about Eddie's injury and how Buck thinks Eddie won't want to talk to him after what he did. The focus is on Eddie. Also it doesn't make any logical sense for Buck to be so upset and emotionally invested over some guy he barely knows. He's upset because he thinks Eddie his best friend can so easily replace him in his life.

You're defending T*mmy because you say he left the date not wanting to pressure Buck...yet he almost outed him in front of Eddie (someone T*mmy knows is important to Buck). By the time they were on their first date T*mmy already knew how new all of this was for Buck and how nervous he was, I mean the man was talking about how he was an ally ffs while he was on a date with a guy. And while Buck's comment about finding some hot chicks was embarrassing and I get T*mmy not liking it he should have had a little more understanding given where Buck is in his journey. Instead he made it worse by making that crass closet comment.
It's also just plain rude to go on a date with someone and then ditch them in the middle without making sure they have a way home and without any real explanation (I'm not talking about more extreme circumstances like your date just being an ahole btw). Sure T*mmy told Buck he didn't think he was ready but that was really all he said. Buck was likely left feeling like he was being punished for having a moment where he acted out of fear. T*mmy could have shared an Uber with Buck and talked to him on the way home and they could have seen if they wanted things to continue. But it was like at the first sign of Buck needing more support he bailed.

My personal feeling on the first kiss is that T*mmy really should have given something of an indication of his intentions before he kissed Buck.
Speaking as someone who is bi if I was into another woman and they were giving off the kind of vibes Buck was I wouldn't just jump in there and kiss them. I know they try to make everything more sexy for tv and it's the oldest trope in the book to have the hot guy grab the main's face and lay one on them but given all of the signals Buck was sending out T*mmy really should have gotten more confirmation beforehand.
I'm not accusing T*mmy of anything and clearly Buck liked the kiss and it was also clear in that loft scene he was attracted to T*mmy. Still the vibes he was giving off were also really nervous an unsure and he talked about Eddie 90% of the time literally moments before the kiss. Why jump in an kiss someone who seems that nervous and probably is into someone else? I don't know it's just issues I have with that scene.

When it comes to a lot of the discourse I see around between Buddie shippers and B/T shippers I feel like a major difference is in how we perceive the show. I feel like a lot of B/T shippers mostly just take the show at face value. If something is written a certain way and presented that way to you on the screen you take that as exactly what the story is saying but you're missing the more subtle messages in the writing.
Like the whole scene with Buck, T*mmy, and Eddie in the karaoke bar had a lot going on beyond just what the dialogue was saying and it was likely missed by those who weren't paying attention.
Yeah T*mmy was on call and yeah that could be a reason why he didn't dress up. Although as many have pointed out there's plenty of things he could have worn that would have made it easy for him to quickly change and get to work and still put an ounce of effort into something that was clearly important to Buck.
But the not dressing up wasn't even the biggest issue it was that when Buck seemed hurt by the fact that T*mmy didn't care enough to dress up T*mmy was just like it's not that big of deal get over it (in the demeanor with which he responded). Obviously it was just a silly bachelor party one Chim didn't even show up to and no one else even dressed up for it (besides Eddie) but for me it's another red flag showing that T*mmy doesn't listen to Buck and doesn't have his back like a (potential) partner should.
Also you can defend T*mmy all you want but very deliberate choices were made with this Buddie and T*mmy scene. They chose to have Eddie arrive first and call a lot of attention to what he was wearing. Right before they had T*mmy come in and have that whole convo about his lack of costume to Buck.
Multiple times in the episode they pointed out that Buddie were wearing a couples costume and that Eddie is the one who picked it out. Not only were they matching in the bachelor party outfits but if you look at their outfits in the later scenes while looking for Chim they're coordinated like spouses there too.
They chose to have Eddie be the one to stay with Buck when everyone else left. They chose to have Buddie partying alone when they could have easily had T*mmy there. Especially when you consider this is a much shorter season every scene and every ep means even more than it would in a normal season. If they were trying to build B/T and get the audience to warm to them showing them partying even showing B/T partying with Eddie would have been a great time to do that instead they only focused on Buddie.

I'm happy for B/T shippers that you got your kissing scene at the end but here's what I saw. In a very overstuffed episode they chose to have a ton of Buddie stuff including having Buck and Eddie show up together multiple times while everyone was out looking for Chimney. Meanwhile B/T got one small scene (which included Eddie) in the beginning and one kiss at the end away from everyone else (that immediately cut to Eddie and Chris). The kiss didn't even feel like it's main purpose was to further develop the B/T relationship, it felt like it happened more to serve Buck's bi storyline so he could come out to everyone.
Also others have pointed this out but just because B/T have physical chemistry doesn't mean they have romantic chemistry. They seem like very different people. Too different in my opinion. In what little scenes of conversation they've actually had I just see two people who won't be compatible long term.
Juxtapose that with Eddie and Buck and just how much alike they are while at the same time being so uniquely themselves. How they're able to call each other out when they need to like when Eddie pointed out how it was maybe not the greatest idea for Buck to come out at his sister's wedding.
You can dislike Buddie and ship B/T all you want but you can't deny how all Buck and Eddie have to do is stand near each other and they exude chemistry and compatibility. People who don't even watch the show assume they're together and there's not even one scene of them kissing. Yet the main reason people ship B/T is because they're two hot guys who've kissed twice. There is no other real point of substance there. Now tell me again which fandom is guilty of fetishization here?

You can call us the delusional ones all you want but EVERYTHING is screaming in your face that T*mmy isn't going to last forever. I don't even care if he comes back for season 8. T*mmy and B/T have a giant ticking clock over them and sooner or later their time will be up. There is no way Tim, the writers, ABC, Ryan, Oliver, etc would pass on the phenomenon that Buddie will be once it goes canon. The show already gets a ton of attention just from talking about the possibility of them going canon. Every single article where they even mention Buddie gets attention.
It's hilarious to me that you say the actors and showrunners are what rooting for B/T? In all the the interviews they talk about Buddie now. Tim literally was saying he cares about Buddie too in his response to a fan the other day. He literally said he included Buddie scene specifically for our fandom. Oliver is always posting and liking stuff related to his scenes with Ryan and Buddie. When Ryan gets to do interviews he gushes about Buddie and Oliver. Meanwhile B/T which is supposed to be the canon ship in this important queer storyline they're doing barely gets mentioned. Let me know when that same energy is being given to your ship.

It sorta depends when they ship it... Before Heroes of Olympus ig it's fine, after HoO its a bit more messy. Look, if the person started shipping Nico with.. oh let’s just say Annabeth after the Titans Curse, then I think it’s fine. Because they don’t know about it yet. Nico could be straight, bi, or anything. There’s no harm in shipping Nico with a girl if you don’t know Nico is gay. Don’t go saying how it’s disrespectful if they person doesn’t know because a) spoilers and b) again, they don’t know. Sure, you can pick up on how Nico crushes on Percy rereading the series, but that’s usually after you’ve already read HoO. Reading it on the first time does sorta hint to Nico like Annabeth with how he listens to Annabeth and not Percy and how we just thought that he hated Percy only because of Bianca?Correct me if I’m wrong, but Riordan didn’t intend to make Nico gay until after PJO, right?
After you’ve read HoO, Yes, it’s your opinion and whatnot, but can we please just look at the canon info?
Nico came out. That probably wasn’t very easy. Yes, I get that it’s a fictional character, but again, it won’t take to much effort for you to maybe not ship a fictional character who has said that they are gay. Nico is gay and how about we keep that in mind when shipping.
Before you say “But nobody would care if I shipped Percy and Jason!” Shipping two straight characters like Percy and Jason is a bit different because Jason and Percy haven’t actually said they were straight. If Percy and Jason both said they were straight, I would have a problem with that ship.
It’s his identity and personally I love the solangelo alot and can I do not see nico being with any other female charecter from the series...

whew the deranged BOB anon really needs some fresh air (and a little time out on the naughty stool imo)
does anyone believe for a second that it would have been preferrable to that side of the fandom to have tommy with eddie? i can't believe your BOB anon was able to type that with a straight (no pun intended) face.
it's all fine and good if someone ships b*ddie endgame but it really irks me that some diehards don't see any point to buck being bisexual except in the context of b*ddie. they can lie to each other about just wanting queer rep and soulmates but what they're really saying is that they care more about their ship than the character they claim to love.
meanwhile buck is out her happy and free and thriving and finally -- finally!-- getting comfortable in his own skin. let the baby bi live his best life ffs. none of us knows what's going to happen with tommy but i personally can't wait to get to know him better and watch his relationship with buck flourish into something beautiful. and on that front, we are off to a goddamn great start.
*quick note, i've kinda lost track of which BoB asks i've actually responded to/posted and i'm trying to rotate nice/normal stuff into the mix so it's not wall to wall insanity here, but be aware y'all are not necessarily seeing stuff in the order i got them*
having collected many, many of their opinions, i'm starting to think this anon is just way, way too attached to their gay eddie hc, the more messages i get the more the focus has shifted to being pissed that gay!eddie doesn't seem to be happening. as if they've been personally cheated out of the storyline they want.
like they hate lou but also would've been fine if tommy and eddie had gotten together? (which??? if their complaint is a lack of romantic chemistry between buck and tommy, i'm not sure what's seems so compelling about tommy and eddie? they were incredibly bro-y)

Although the fact I finally leapt on the CNCO train almost four weeks to the day after they officially split up is 100% on brand for my rotten luck, I'm very fortunate to have ADHD and so I have spent the last four weeks trying to cram 8 years' worth of fandom into my brain, with a level of success that has impressed even myself.
Things that especially give me extra dopamine about these doofuses:
. We don't have time for all the things I love about that idiot Vélez but I'll come back to him in a moment. In any case, let me tell you, he's such an amazing human being that I'm not 100% sure he's even real.

. Watching the official videos and still being constantly astounded at Rich's wardrobe. This is split into two levels of incredulity—a) "What the bleedin ell has he got on this time?!", and b) "There wasn't enough budget for a shirt for the poor sod again, eh?" (NB: There is rarely any budget for a shirt for Rich in any video, the poor love. Let Rich Be Warm™, FFS!) Both a) and b) are particularly evident in the Miami video, where the Rich's Shirt budget appeared to have been spent on a granny scarf. For his hair. Obvs. Because of course.
Legit son, what the fuck, did you lose a bet or something, lad?? 👀 It's like when Stewart Granger was in films in the 40s and 50s and he'd wear increasingly bonkers outfits scene after scene but he had absolutely zero confidence issues so he just owned everything like of COURSE he was gonna rock the hell out of it. . The amount of clever camera trickery and stage choreography involved in showing Chris actually dancing as little as possible. Before any of you come at me over this—I'm not saying Chris can't dance, I'm saying they cut around him and they do it consistently enough that it's hilariously obvious they're doing it. One of my favourite examples is in the Vevo Lite performance of Reggaetón Lento, where they just show his left elbow. Oh honey. (I marked it with a pointy finger to help you out)
I have a few theories about this but it's probably because his hips are so wiggly that if they showed them doing their thing on screen they couldn't have marketed the band to kids and that's a giant drop in revenue before they've even started. Not that I've made a study of his wiggly hips. Honestly.
. I have, however, made a very careful study of that lip-lick-into-lip-bite thing he does, and have come to the conclusion that HE is nsfw. Him. Himself. Alone. With no help. He just oozes it. Holy fudgeballs (probably). He's 100% that one guy who would openly flirt with an empty bag of crisps. Seriously son, give it a rest, we're all pregnant now.

. I have literally lost count of how many times I've seen 4Ever in the last four weeks. I mean genuinely I cannot remember. I stopped counting at 12. There is no particular reason for this. I can't imagine anything that keeps my attention so solidly.
It's beautiful. I've been looking at this for five hours, now.
. "Que quiénes somos? YOU ALREADY KNOW!" My guys this has been my very problem with artists announcing themselves on their songs for at least the last decade, thank you for addressing the pointlessness of this activity but doing it anyway, I love you for it.

. Bringing back 90s boy band dancing with a level of aplomb I haven't witnessed since approximately 1998. And yes, I do remember. I was 15 in 1998, I was very much the target audience. Anyway, watch Mis Ojos Lloran Por Ti, it's the most authentically 90s thing I've seen since actual 90s boy band music videos.
White shirts AND white vests with black trousers in an abandoned building? ALL THEY NEED IS RAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also the rap section of Mis Ojos Lloran Por Ti sounds EXACTLY like the rap section of Mysterious Girl by Peter Andre. It does. Go on, check for yourselves, I'm right about this.
. Tóxica. Just. Omg. Tóxica. It's beautiful. I dunno whose idea it was to do an acapella arrangement, but I hope they always hit the green light in traffic, because wow. What a song. (here it is if you're unfamiliar with CNCO, you've read this far, and you've never heard the song before. Even if you have, it's always worth another listen!)
Honestly it gives me proper goosebumps every single time, it's THE dopamine song for me, it just does all the things to my brain all at once. I was listening to all their songs on shuffle and all of a sudden I heard this one and I just stopped dead in my tracks like "holy SHIT what the hell....this is... this is stunning!" Like THAT was the moment I was like yep that's it folks this is MY band now, these are MY boys, they've got me for life whether they like it or not, I'm theirs, they're mine, that's how fangirls and musicians go, my guys (gender neutral).
. I am obviously not a native Spanish speaker nor am I 100% fluent in speaking, but after 4 weeks I've managed to learn a significant portion of their back catalogue and I am so goshdarned proud of myself. By comparison it's taken me about 5 years to learn most of Morat's back catalogue and I've been in the fandom since just before Balas Perdidas dropped.
Okay fine I have a whole different set of distractions with Morat (goddammit Monchi!!!!), we can't compare them, and it's not a "which band is better" thing at all cos I refuse to choose between any of my boys because they're MY BOYS. It's just nice from a personal viewpoint to feel like my Spanish level is now at a stage where I can pick up new lyrics to songs quite quickly!!! I feel like my Spanish has really improved in the last month and these doofuses are 100% to blame and I adore them for it and so many other things.
Suffice to say, I may be way too late to the party, but I think I get to be at least an honorary CNCOwner at this point. Without the smallest shred of doubt I know that I am retroactively CNCOwned, at any rate.

Dreifacher Medaillengewinner bei den Olympischen Spielen. Absurd ist das alles, unfassbar absurd und gleichzeitig großartig und besser, als er es sich jemals hätte vorstellen können. Zwei silberne und eine Goldemaille hängen um seinen Hals, das solide Gewicht hält ihn im Hier und Jetzt, auch wenn er das Gefühl hat zu fliegen. Noch immer zu fliegen, so, als ob der letzte Silbersprung niemals enden würde.
Um Andreas herum herrscht eine unglaubliche Lautstärke. Die Musik dröhnt aus der Anlage hier im deutschen Haus, die Menschen um ihn herum lachen unbeschwert, tanzen und unterhalten sich lautstark über die Musik hinweg. Immer wieder wird er zur Seite gezogen und beglückwünscht, stößt mit jedem an, der ihm sein Bier entgegenhält. Das Grinsen auf seinem Gesicht ist wie festbetoniert, er fühlt sich leicht und ein wenig wie in Watte gepackt.
Markus, Karl, Richi und Stephan hat er im Laufe des Abends in der Menschenmenge verloren. Sie sind gemeinsam hergekommen, um ihren zweiten Platz beim Teamspringen zu feiern. Markus an vorderster Front, auch wenn er dieses Mal nicht mitspringen konnte. Das Teamgefühl ist stärker denn je und allein dieser Umstand macht diesen Abend schöner, als Andreas es sich in seinen kühnsten Träumen je hätte ausmalen können.
Mit einem letzten Schulterklopfer verabschiedet er sich aus der kleinen Runde und bahnt sich seinen Weg zwischen all den Menschen hindurch. Andreas will jetzt sein Team um sich haben, schließlich ist das ihr Ding. Mit ihnen will er feiern, Spaß haben und diesen Abend wirklich unvergesslich machen. Das graue Shirt klebt inzwischen etwas an seinen Schultern, weil es so stickig ist, aber das stört ihn nicht. Er nimmt einen großen Schluck von seinem Bier, prostet im Vorbeigehen anderen Athleten zu und sieht sich gleichzeitig nach seinen Freunden um. Schließlich kommt er an der Toilette vorbei und beschließt, sich hier kurz abzukühlen. Als er die Türe öffnet, stolpert er etwas ungelenk über die leicht abgesenkte Türschwelle in den hell gefliesten Raum hinein. Das Bier schwappt über den Glasrand an seiner Hand hinunter und Andreas flucht leise.
„Wie viel hast du getrunken?“, ertönt eine belustigte und wie immer leicht nasal klingende Stimme.
Ruckartig hebt Andreas den Kopf, sein Blick fällt auf Stephan, der entspannt neben dem Waschbecken lehnt. Die kurzen braunen Haare stehen etwas ab, seine eigene Silbermedaille glänzt im hellen Licht und im Gegensatz zu ihm selbst hat Stephan kein Getränk bei sich.
„Nicht so viel.“ Stephan hebt fragend eine Augenbraue, was Andreas schlucken lässt. „Ehrlich. Die Tür war nur“, er zuckt unbeholfen mit den Schultern, „blöd.“
„Blöd?“
Stephan grinst ihn an und Andreas kann nicht anders als aufzulachen. Ein bisschen zu laut, aber wenn er Stephan so vor sich stehen sieht, mit diesen Grübchen und den funkelnden Augen, fühlt es sich an, als würde das Glück in ihm ein Ventil suchen. Er überbrückt den Abstand zwischen ihnen, bis er dicht vor ihm steht.
Auffordernd hebt er sein Glas, „Ich will mir die Hände waschen, hältst du kurz?“ Ohne zu antworten, nimmt Stephan ihm das Glas aus der Hand. Er trinkt einen Schluck und verzieht angewidert sein Gesicht.
„Das ist warm.“
Schulterzuckend wendet Andreas sich ab, öffnet den Wasserhahn, „Egal. Gewinnerbier ist Gewinnerbier“, und wäscht sich seine Hände. Als er den leeren Papierspender sieht, wischt er sich die nassen Hände kurzerhand an seiner Hose ab.
„Hab’ euch gesucht." Er sieht zu Stephan, der noch immer das halbvolle Bierglas festhält und ihn nicht aus den Augen lässt.
„Du warst so begehrt, da sind die anderen weitergezogen. Aber“, Stephan wirft einen Blick auf seine Armbanduhr, „wir wollten uns gleich bei der Bühne treffen und nach dir sehen. Ist schließlich eine Teamfeier.“
Draußen wummert der Bass, als Andreas einen Schritt auf ihn zugeht, ihm das Bier aus der Hand nimmt und auf dem Waschbeckenrand abstellt. „Eben, deswegen hab’ ich euch gesucht“, sagt er mit leiser Stimme. „Ich wollte mit euch feiern.“ Andreas hebt eine Hand und streicht andächtig über die Silbermedaille, die auf Stephans Brust ruht. „Aber ihr wart irgendwann weg und ich wollte nicht unhöflich sein.“ In ihm macht sich das unangenehme Gefühl von Unsicherheit breit. Was, wenn sein Team sich zurückgelassen fühlt? Als ob sie nicht wichtig genug wären, obwohl sie das Wichtigste sind? Was, wenn Stephan denkt, er wäre nicht wichtig genug? Austauschbar in der Menge, einer von vielen? Andreas beißt sich auf die Unterlippe und lässt Stephans Silbermedaille los.
„Tut mir leid“, wispert er und senkt den Blick.
Die Gedanken in seinem Kopf überschlagen sich. Angestrengt versucht Andreas, sie zu ordnen, aber das Chaos ist zu groß, das schlechte Gewissen legt sich zähflüssig und unnachgiebig um sein Herz. Er schluckt schwer und fragt sich, wo der Kloß in seinem Hals auf einmal herkommt, und vielleicht hat er doch mehr getrunken, als er dachte.
Warme Hände legen sich um seine eigenen. „Andi, das wissen wir doch. Komm schon“, dann verschränkt Stephan ihre Hände miteinander, „heute ist unser Abend. Mach dir keinen Kopf, hm?“
Vorsichtig sieht Andreas auf. Stephan steht vor ihm, ruhig und mit festem Blick. In seinen dunklen Augen ist so viel Wärme und ein wenig Sorge. Wie so oft bei diesen Olympischen Spielen scheint er zu wissen, was Andreas braucht, um wieder runterzufahren und sich auf den Moment zu fokussieren. Hier, auf der Party genauso wie am Abend vor seinem Goldmedaillengewinn. Mit Stephan an seiner Seite ist alles so viel leichter und klarer und ohne ihn wäre er nicht hier, das weiß er.
„Komm, die anderen warten“, unterbricht Stephan seine Gedanken und lässt eine Hand sinken, sodass er ihn an der anderen Hand hinter sich her, in Richtung Tür, ziehen kann. Andreas lässt es zu, Stephan lächelt ihn aufmunternd an und bahnt sich schließlich mit ihm gemeinsam den Weg durch die Menge. Händchenhaltend schieben sie sich durch die Menschen, Stephans Hand fühlt sich dabei vertraut in seiner eigenen an. Nicht zu warm, nicht schwitzig, sondern angenehm und schlicht passend.
Wenig später bleibt Stephan stehen, Markus und die anderen stehen bereits am Rand der Bühne und haben sie entdeckt.
„Da is' ja unser verlorener Champion“, ruft Markus und wirft sich überschwänglich in seine Arme. Es dauert nicht lange und Andreas findet sich in einer Gruppenumarmung wieder, die ihm etwas den Atem raubt und gleichzeitig nicht eng genug sein kann. Sein Blick trifft auf Stephans, der von Karl an seine linke Seite gedrängt wurde und immer noch lächelt. Anstatt Sorge erkennt Andreas Stolz und vielleicht ein bisschen Zufriedenheit in seinem Gesicht.
„Ich liebe dich.“ Die drei Worte stolpern über seine Lippen, viel zu schrill, beinahe schon ein Rufen über das Stimmgewirr und die Musik hinweg.
Markus lacht heiser an seiner Schulter. „Wir lieben dich auch.“ Die anderen stimmen lautstark mit ein, während Stephan ihn immer noch anblickt - weich und warm und unglaublich vertraut.
„Jetzt geht’s los“, beginnt Markus zu grölen, während sich die Gruppenumarmung auflöst.
Das hier ist ihr Abend und es gibt wirklich niemanden, mit dem er diesen Erfolg lieber teilen würde.

'Why are you gay?' This is long and angry, I warned you.
OP is my fandom for over 10 years, but till opla I was simply chilling on new manga chapters and sometimes fics/memes. After opla I needed to see all the new content. So, I'm fresh into the new wave of OP, because of liveaction, and I'm already exhausted from 'gay labels' fans seem to place eVeRyWHere. Because to most people 'not being obsessed with finding a girlfriend/boyfriend '='being gay' apparently. And here goes my rant about Zoro(mostly) and Nami. Like, both Zoro and Nami are simply more mature in that aspect, but most perceive them as gay (not even bi, wtf). So they can have a cOnVeRsATion like two people and tease each other without nosebleed and/or hormonal crysis. Wow, maybe cause they survived alone from the childhood and learned early not to show their emotions and attraction?? I wonder. Then goes this 'Sanji and Zoro fight over gay reasons'. Please, all human emotions are suddenly gay now? Give me a break! Like, they bickered over Nami's internal motives oBVioSly, not because they necessarily wanted to get her as a girlfriend. Then they bickered because of Luffy's trust and devotion. They're both a bit insecure in this aspect, big surprise. Doesn't make you gay either.
All that said, I read and enjoy homoeroticism and m/m content. It is just the exact same problem now as with 'youre a woman I'm a man' trope. Why think, why explore character, just call him gay and your job is done! I love gay dinamics, but that's exactly it - a dynamic. If person A likes person B, it should be more than their orientation and gender.
Main reason why I cannot love Sanji wholeheartedly is exactly because he is 'gender first person second' guy. Like wow, there are SO MANY different people, but he focuses on that. Zoro on the other hand, showed me (a young girl at the time) empowerment before I knew the word. He had a friend, he supported her, he didn't belittle or humiliate her in the moment of weakness and despair and he kept their promise, even if nobody else knew about it, and it only actually mattered to her at the moment he said that. He treated Nami and Robin as people, but he always watched out for them as he acknowledged their gender, not letting it be their main characteristic. He is a really mature man, and I never perceived him as openly gay or straight, as he values personal traits far more than boobs. I like dynamics where he values Sanji as a fighter and a friend, not those where he ignores Nami's or Robin's bosom in favour of Sanji's ass. That's such a neanderthal approach I feel degradation vibes from the community. Try perceiving men/women as people, it is 21 century, FFS.

I have several wips that I'm just cycling through right now, adding on a little at a time, so I'm going to pick 5 of them to talk about.
📝 All the Girls With Heads Inside a Dream: a gender-bent wlw spideytorch fic, wherein they are teenage girls when they first meet each other. One of the places I've been shoving all my own sapphic bi feelings.
📝 Family Is What You Make Of It: an original fic about an extended family, with members including trolls, humans, and half-elves. Mainly written from the viewpoints of two half-elf siblings, who married into this family but grew up alone, and are struggling to understand their new roles.
📝 P, B, & J: spideytorch kid fic. Peter is a single dad and Johnny thinks he doesn't have to be.
📝 Bakura's Demon: a ygo role-reversal fic. (Yami) Bakura is a university student who likes creepy things. He goes to an occult store one day after classes, and picks up a strange necklace. Taking the necklace home with him, Bakura begins experiencing strange dreams, being haunted by (Ryou) the spirit of the necklace.
📝 Newton's Cradle: a Johnny/Peter/Mary Jane ship fic, because I think there should be more of those. Takes place during the Hickman run of FF (wherein Johnny dies and returns a few months later) and is appropriately angsty.

(So I originally wrote the following in a reply to the post screencaped above. I wanted to reblog this as the S3B is premiering in a couple days and I have major concerns over this potential plot direction. However OP blocked me for my reply and I can’t, however they’re my words so I will repost them as I see fit. Including the original post for context only, and I added some additional clarifying comments.)

Canon Radovid (in the games, he’s like 12 at the end of the books, although his future turn is hinted at) turns genocidal towards sorceresses and other non-humans both for political power, but also because of the festering resentment of the abuse, manipulations, and wrongs he sees him and father suffer at the hands of the sorceress Phillipa and Dijkstra, including his father’s assassination by an elf at the behest of Phillipa. Phillipa controls him throughout his teenage years. That hate festers in him for years until he grows up, and instead of simply getting revenge on those who personally harmed him and his family, he decides the only way to rule was with an iron fist, and turned that fist against all sorceresses, witches, magic-users and non-humans (both because he hates/fears them, but also for political gain, as these things tend to go). He encourages the non-human hate, uses humans superior numbers to overwhelm and destroy groups of non-humans and magic users. He’s relatively militarily adept too. He made sure of that, because he wanted revenge against Phillipa even as a boy.
I don’t think the show would abandon everything that makes Radovid Radovid (but then again, Eskel...), I don’t think he’s just going to be Some Guy. So his sadistic bigotry towards and genocide against all non-humans and (most) human magic-users will come into play at some point. And if it does, his relationship with Jaskier will HAVE to factor in somehow, that’s unavoidable at this point.
But should this theory OP mentions come to pass (and there is a good chance it might, I have been concerned about this since it the news leaked of who Jaskier would be paired up with), that would mean the show made a conscious choice to have adult Radovid turn villain…cause his boyfriend dumped him? His boyfriend of like a couple months chose his family of 20+ years over him, and that was enough to make him lose it and just start stabbing everything? Or cause he was angry that Jaskier was using him as a shield because Phillipa was threatening him? And Radovid, a grown ass man, cannot handle this? This would put a homosexual relationship at the core of a xenophobic campaign of witch-burning, be the catalyst of it. And they would put that on Jaskier’s shoulders? Because he dumped Radovid?
Why? What does this do but add cheap angst where it wasn’t needed? There is no need to A.) Start Radovid’s xenophobic hate campaign 15 years early (they have so many world-spanning plots they already can’t write well, why add more?), and B.) connect it directly to someone in the main core cast by having them be the inciting incident for Radovid. That’s unnecessary, that doesn’t offer any narrative improvement to the story at all (FFS, the world is bigger than Geralt, Yenn, Ciri, and Jaskier). And is this the reason Jaskier is now canonically bisexual? Was that the only reason they did that, just to make him the casus belli of a genocide? That really would not be the kind of queer rep anyone should praise, and by god, does it feels downright spiteful.
And to be clear, I don’t think every queer story has to be all sunshine and happiness or perfectly positive (something I’ve been accused of when criticizing questionable writing of gay/bi characters in the past). But there is a vast ocean of difference between “Sunshine and perfection” and “Hey! Let’s change this catalyst for this genocide from ‘Paranoid Fascist takes what should have been a beef between him and like 5 people, and turns it into a full scale witch-burning industry and non-human genocide, for both political gain and cause he’s a paranoid xenophobic fascist’ to 'gay prince super bummed his boyfriend dumped him’, and let’s make sure we wait to show the boyfriend as canonically bisexual until the last possible second, just so people wonder if that’s the only reason we even bothered ”. A vast fucking ocean.
I’m fine with adaptational changes that add to or improve the canon material, or are just different but stand strongly on their own. But this? Would be a terrible miserable hateful idea, and is just cheap writing for forced angst (and I honestly would not put it past the Witcher writers, which is the worst part).
How is this good? How would this an improvement? What does this add? How does this stand on it’s own? Why would they take a bloody campaign of witch-burning and genocide that had a believable catalyst already, and retcon it happening because of The Gays? Cause a dude dumped another dude? If they did this, the writers would have to consciously make the choice to change the catalyst of the genocide to ‘a gay guy was like super bummed that his boyfriend left him for a Witcher’. Do y'all see what that looks like?
