This is a look at a future chapter of “Anonymous Ones” when jackson is out of the hospital and settled in a bit at the Montgomery-Sloan apartment.
———
Jackson yawns as he finishes up his second to last paragraph. Every so often, he glances at the door to make sure no one’s coming. It’s well after midnight. Addison and Mark both worked doubles. They were rightfully exhausted when they came home and said they had plans of passing out the same time Jackson went to bed. Hopefully, they’ll sleep through the night.
A part of him feels bad stealing Mark’s laptop but he did say Jackson was free to use it for homework until they got him a new one. Who’s to say he can’t so late? Just to be safe, he kept the lights off.
As Jackson starts his conclusion, footsteps creek across the hall. He quickly saves and shuts the laptop before sliding it under the bed. Jackson lays down and squeezes his eyes shut.
The door slowly opens and the footsteps come closer. Jackson tries to adjust his breathing to make it appear he’s sleeping.
He expects someone to walk around to his side of the bed. Instead, someone flops down beside him. Jackson rolls over. His eyes widen and he screams when he meets an unfamiliar man’s face. The stranger screams and jumps out of bed at the same time as him. Jackson grabs one of his heavy textbooks.
“Who are you?!” The man exclaims.
“Me?!” Jackson’s breathing picks up. “Who are you?!”
The overhead light flickers on. Addison and Mark rush in, the latter holding a bat. The worry on their face is short lived when they see the man’s face. Mark chuckles and lowers the bat while Addison groans.
“What the hell, Archer?!”
Archer. Jackson’s heard that name before. He looks between the two of them and notices the resemblance. Jackson lowers the textbook, his heat racing.
“Hey, Addie,” Archer says with an easy smile. “Gonna give your big brother a hug?”
“I’m gonna smack you upside the head for scaring everyone!” Addison snaps, rushing to Jackson’s side. “You didn’t even call.”
“I never call,” Archer points out.

This is from the "Archer Comes To Seattle" chapter of "The Anonymous Ones". Still won't be out for a while but I've been writing bits and pieces of it while I have the ideas. Here's some of Archer and Addison having breakfast at his hotel.
---
“I take it you were on the phone with Bizzy this morning?” Addison asks. She picks up her drink and takes a sip, instantly hating how good it is.
Archer shakes his head. “You think so little of me, Addie.”
“No, I don’t. I just know you, Archer. Somehow, once we became adults you found it impossible to keep any secret I’ve had from her.”
“She worries about you.”
“She worries that neither of us is living up to the family name. And to get her off your tail, you push her onto mine.”
Archer sighs. “This is about the whole Mark and Derek thing. I thought we were past it.”
“We were. I’m not mad about it anymore.”
“Really? Have you told your face that? Because…” He gestures from her eyes to her lips. “They tell a much different story, Addie.”
Addison purses her lips. “I have forgiven you, Archer. But forgive me for being skeptical that you wouldn’t tell her about this.”
“Because for once, Addie, this goes beyond you and me. You have a whole kid that’d be affected by it.” Addison raises a brow. Archer shrugs, slightly pouting. “What? I can be empathetic.”

As a new segment on WhatSamWatches, I will now be doing more informal reviews/commentaries on what I’m watching. And it’ll include shows I’ll be rewatching just because I feel like it. I know I just did a review on Private Practice not that long ago but I’m not ready for it to be over. So I’m binging the show from the beginning all over again. So since I rewatched the sixth episode of season two last time, we’re now onto the seventh episode of season two of Private Practice.
Tempting Faith
This all-white outfit that Addison’s wearing at the beginning of this episode is such an underrated outfit of hers, in my opinion.
But I am glad that Kevin and Addison made up.
If Addison wasn’t with Kevin, I wonder if she would’ve called the cops after seeing her door open like that.
It’s cute that Meg’s trying to quit smoking for Pete.
Meeting Archer Montgomery
And here we finally meet Archer Montgomery, played by Grant Show. Which reminds me, I’ve gotta catch up on Dynasty.
Archer really is a snob. But I love the dynamic between him and Addison. Not just in this episode but also later when he comes back.
Sometimes, I forget that Archer’s also a doctor. Or used to be. It’s a little unclear because first, he’s an author who used to be a neurologist. Then, he comes back and he’s suddenly a doctor again.
Archer showing up also gives us a little more insight into Addison’s family. They never get into it on Grey’s Anatomy, but granted, Kate was only on two seasons of the show. During the divorce proceedings, she did mention her trust fund but they didn’t really elaborate on it. Later in this episode, Archer reveals Addison has a $25 million trust fund.
There’s also the first mention of Bizzy! I know she doesn’t show up on Private Practice until next season, but JoBeth Williams does a fantastic job in playing her. And in fact, I love the writing for all of Addison’s family dynamics and history.
Violet and Hal
Why did they ask Violet to take the stand if she only had three sessions with Hal? It’s an odd choice for what I assume is a character witness. Or maybe she’s brought in as an expert witness, but again, it’s a weird choice.
Side note: it’s Miss Patty from Gilmore Girls!
I feel for Violet in this episode. But I also wouldn’t want a pedophile around the office. Then again, it’s court-mandated therapy so I definitely don’t blame Violet for it. Unlike Dell, apparently.
They mention Dell’s abusive past a few times on the show but I really wish they dove into it more. And it sucks that they apparently killed his character off later because they didn’t think they could use Dell in every episode. I get that he’s mostly an office manager and he’s kind of ridiculed for being a midwife. But learning more about his past would’ve been so interesting. And I think him getting killed off the show just keeps us all wondering about it. It would’ve been one thing if they just had him as a background character that said a line here and there. But they’ve brought up an abusive past and an addict for a baby mama. How is that not something they can use?
