The only instances wherein Vulcans having delicate sense of smell was reference was in Star Trek: Enterprise. This made me a smile, made me miss T'Pol.
Begging any ENT fans who haven't heard the full version of Archer's theme to go listen to this!! It's such a beautiful piece of music and I can't even begin to imagine why it wasn't used for the show. Don't get me wrong, I've grown to love and even defend 'Where My Heart Will Take Me', but this piece gives such a sense of hope and it makes me really emotional. I really like how it's a clear follow-on from previous orchestral Trek themes, but that electric guitar gives it a modern twist - and as a guitarist it just really pleases me tbh.
One of my favorite fandom things is the way the Star Trek community feels about "Where My Heart Will Take Me." Like, we all know it's bad, completely out of place as a theme for a Star Trek series, just this bizarre oddity from a series primarily known for questionable decisions. And because of that, there's really no point in criticizing it. So instead, everyone just embraces it as a silly part of Star Trek history, like "Spock's Brain" or that time Beverly Crusher fucked a ghost. You can unironically enjoy singing along because it's just another piece of the experience that is Star Trek, and all real Star Trek fans have faith, faith of the heart.
