I have an insatiable curiosity so today, I was watching TV and the guy on the show sprained/broke his penis. And I, being myself, was like, huh, I wonder what that kind of injury looks like IRL. So I looked it up and :) it was one of THEE most horrific things I have ever seen :) and I've seen photos of decapitation, like !!!! Penises are NOT supposed to look like that !!!!! It was HORRFYING. Fascinating, to be sure, but HORRIFYING.

As someone who has worked in the medical field for a while and who has constant Ghost brain rot, I've been thinking quite a bit about what the Ministry's healthcare system might be like.

I'd like to think that there are some practitioners who work internally within the Ministry, like nurses in the infirmary or maybe even a dentist. For bigger things, like when Sister Imperator was in the hospital, the Ministry has some of the best medical coverage your soul can buy, as well as a large network of some of the best doctors in the world. Any out of pocket expenses are "paid" for with daily chores and volunteer hours if needed. But bottom line, there's little point in having devoted followers that are ill or in pain.

On the flip side, when a member of the congregation has passed, the Ministry has a private funeral practice that goes above and beyond for any arrangements. Most members opt to be buried or cremated in the Ministry cemetery or mausoleum. Some do want their final resting place to be back home amongst family, and when that happens the funeral practice takes the utmost care in still performing the proper funeral rites. They also ensure the member's headstone or urn is engraved with a pentagram and/or grucifix as some local funeral homes will not.

Even tho she's not black, baby!Jaz would have killed for a game like Spiritfarer. I remember the first time I played, I was pleasantly surprised that the main character was a brown skinned girl who seemed so bright and kind-hearted. I've seen precious few of that description in games let alone as your main character. It was nice.

Prayer request: please pray for my grandpa. He's having open-heart surgery tomorrow, and he has two other hospital-worthy health issues that they're going to have to figure out how to treat after that. He had a bad fall back in May, and while he was originally doing miraculously well, he stopped taking care of himself as well as he should have in July (right about when he should have been able to start doing more . . .), and that's led to a whole slew of issues.

Specific requests:

That the heart surgery goes well.

That the doctors will have wisdom to figure out how to treat the other issues.

That my grandpa will be receptive to whatever changes he needs to make to ensure these problems don't come back and new problems don't arise, and that he'd find the motivation to not stay in his current mindset (which seems to be that he's avoiding anything that requires effort).

This is a little selfish, but pray that my uncle (who's currently with my grandpa) would be able to stay with him for his recovery instead of making my mom come up again (after she already spent literally all summer taking care of my grandpa after his initial fall).
