Scavenger Hunt
Let’s get into. This ep feels like it tells us, the audience, a lot about Marcy - it’s hard for her to connect with others (this will be important later). This is relatable (having a hard to connecting with strangers; i feel you there). If anything Anne reminds me of what I wish I was (and a little bit of very young me when I was climb-happy and into gymnastics :p)
As for plot, it sets up some of the situations and problems faced by Marcy. Also, it foreshadows how she will be the only one who doesn’t actually make friends. Even Sasha formed a friendship of sorts with Grime.
(On that note, I do think it’s interesting how Sasha ends up considering Grime a friend, especially since he’s not someone she had bossed around; there’s a sense of give and take; she’s taught him to have a better rapport (even if it’s on the manipulative side) and he respects her talents of micro-managing and athleticism)
Sprig Addition: Sprig ^-^ Showing support for Anne AND getting Anne and Marcy to admit how they feel even if it’s not all positive and smiles. Yay!

So, what do you think would have happened to Amphibia if its third season got shortened down to three hour long specials like Owl House did?
So A: this question is flawed. The shortening wasn't told to TOH's crew post S2. They were told WELL in advance. Dana is on record (source) for having said as much. The news came down on episode 7 of S2. Reasonably, this probably meant not a lot of S2A could have been changed due to deadlines but I don't know how all this works that well. For the sake of this, I'm going to mostly assume that something could have started changing starting episode eight and more drastic changes could be done after the mid season hiatus.
B: TOH needed S2B to mostly look identical to setup for going into the human realm, for having the Day of Unity as the finale and for the Collector to be set up as a villain by then. There are maybe two episodes you could change but nothing that is emblematic of the problems of S2B as a whole. Here's an entire blog about that. Btw, I published that blog before the finale came out and my opinion is mostly that that blog is kinder than it should have been.
C: I am not going to say this is a better version of Amphibia. Some might though. A lot of people think S2B and S3 of Amphibia is loaded with what they see as filler. Even I agree that you could probably cut a fair amount and not lose the core of the show. I'm about to demonstrate that. Also, just inherently because of a faster pace, the show would have to be more about the trio, or feel that way at least (again, I'll get into it), which the majority of the Amphibia fandom argues is what the show should have done anyways. So yeah, it's kind of an interesting conundrum.
D: I'll mostly talk about the weaknesses of this rewrite once I'm done. For anyone who needs a refresher though: S2, Episode 7 of Amphibia, the last one before this change, is one after Marcy at the Gates and has the segments "Scavenger Hunt" and "The Plantars Check In." Oh and before I get to the three specials, I'll mostly just be trying to slot in episode segments because that feels the most fair to actually capture a reasonable timeline for the show. Like I'm not coming up with cheats to handwave issues that this change would cause. As such, I'm not going to do something like cut The First Temple in half just for the sake of claiming more time. Once we get to the specials, that will change because those episodes' structures would have inherently changed, kind of like how The Hardest Thing has a different structure due to its extended run time. Until then though? I'll mostly be trying to effectively Mad Libs this off of what we already have despite the fact that the creators would have, at least if they're responsible, made changes to work within their new time frame. I'm going to give myself one unreasonable shift in return for this handicap effectively of not being able to change the core structure of the show or its plot points.
ANYWAYS. With that out of the way:
For the sake of pacing, you probably do Lost in Newtopia and then the Sleepover to End All Sleepovers as episode 8 because we can't literally go straight into leaving Newtopia and one could argue that the sleepover is important foreshadowing. However, the next episode is then a double whammy of A Day at the Aquarium to say farewell to Newtopia and still have that touching confirmation of the found family before then skipping Night Drivers and going straight to Return to Wartwood for the second segment, bringing us up to nine.
Then I would actually move Toad to Redemption into the first slot for episode ten because it is thematically important and a good rallying moment for Wartwood. You could also replace with Ivy on the Run for the sake of Sprivy and just make episode 13 into episode 10 by making After the Rain be the mid season finale. It's dramatic enough to do so and lets:
The First Temple opens S2B and episode 15 of the normal show, New Wartwood and Friend or Frobo stays too in order to help setup Wartwood's relationship with humans besides Anne and to get Frobo in. That brings the count to 12.
Then you do episode 17 as episode 13, Barrel's Warhammer and The Second Temple, because we do still need a bit more time with Sasha to prep for True Colors and The Second Temple is obvious. However, I'd probably swap their positions because then episode 14 is The Third Temple (so you don't have two temples literally back to back, even if the two are different episodes like in the actual show) and The Dinner... With Battle of the Bands being cut. It's Sasha's weakest episode, is just kind of reinforcement of a few elements and some expansion on the three's relationship, though mostly Anne and Sasha. The Dinner is needed though to get Sasha with the other two and heading to Newtopia because...
There is a quarter season finale now with True Colors. It is ABSOLUTELY the most radical choice in this rewrite and you could arguably say that it's not fair because Disney wouldn't have allowed them to have that episode as anything but a season finale. This is the only 'cheat' I'll give myself since I'm not altering episodes drastically or the like to fit in with the new time frame. Plus side: They'd have the compelling pitch that in five episodes, they CAN get back to Amphibia to make that the season finale. Otherwise there isn't really much to change before S3 because so much has to wait on the major turn of Andrias becoming the main villain. That version of this outline though, that S2 doesn't change at ALL, is... A genuine nightmare on a lot of fronts and honestly less reasonable than thinking this would be allowed and I'll get to why after the outline. Oh, there is one change that needs to happen unfortunately: Frobo probably doesn't make it in this version after this. Polly and him unfortunately just aren't important enough to really get the wrap up they do in S3. It does mean that mechanic Polly during the ending probably has an RC robo or the like with her to help explain where her being a mechanic came from.
Anywhos: Episode 16 is The New Normal... Mixed with Anne-sterminator. Anne is honest about the danger they're in from go and instead of the quarantine montage, we get her actually beating the Cloak Bot first try to show how far she's come to her parents and to show off the new powers alongside their cost.
Then you do Fight at the Museum followed by Turning Point for episode 17 to start the ball rolling on getting back as well as get Sasha into place and finish up her arc.
Episode 18 has Temple Frogs because the Plantars DO need to still connect with Earth and Temple Frogs is EASILY the best episode of that as it explores how different Anne is from the start of the show and how that isn't entirely a good thing because of the things she's now ignoring, fits thematically with the show as a whole and is just a lot of fun. The other side meanwhile is Olivia and Yunan. I would almost not advocate for keeping this episode for a lot of reasons but it's kind of necessary in order to set up for:
The Core and the King is in episode 19 because Andrias' backstory is REALLY important to how he is beat and to also understand what the Core is and what the kingdom of Amphibia can do. What the stakes are to all of this. It is also the one segment in the actual show itself that explores the villain so you can't really cut it. The other half of the episode though is If You Give a Frog a Cookie because we need Terry.
Especially because you might have noticed that I didn't include Mr. X. There just isn't room for them for the most part which luckily... Is okay. He's fun but his parts can be mostly replaced either with faceless people or Terry. You can also just go with his first appearance actually being him taking the Plantars in this episode. Maybe there's been foreshadowing at the end of Earth segments of someone watching. Something that only takes a few seconds but builds up to honestly having Escape to Amphibia be mostly the same as it was but with a reduced cast and less familiarity with Mr. X as a villain.
So that covers S2. Now there are 3 45 minute specials on average to cover all of S3B. Or more so there's two specials to cover the seven episodes between Escape to Amphibia and The Hardest Thing because Amphibia's finale already had an extended time slot. As 45 minutes is effectively two episodes each, you need to save on three episodes. Six segments.
That's... easier said than done because the segments are actually incredibly important to Amphibia's storytelling and these specials could technically be split into four segments each but more likely they actually have to tell a through line story per special. You can't jump AS MUCH as you could before.
So Special 1 starts with effectively Commander. The reintroduction to Wartwood and the finalizing of Sasha's new self after her character arc is not something you can really leave out. Plus side is that Commander Anne is a really efficient eleven minutes to introduce what Amphibia is like now and you probably don't do the pampered brat routine with the Plantars which is not a real loss. The theme of this special though is allies so the target of Sasha's mission when Anne gets back changes.
The goal is now to free Mother Olm. This way you can skip the Olms themselves and still get the prophecy and foresight from Mother Olm that sets up the finale. It also allows a smooth transition into meeting with Mother Olm in general. She warns them they'll need allies once they're done and we get a montage of the a lot of what people consider filler in S3 with getting allies, though mostly the Toads, Newts and the Killerpillars probably. You could also do this with people splitting up so that each one gets a truncated version of the full segment to get them. Then the final portion of the special is Sasha and Anne hoping their efforts paid off before Sprig shows Lief's hidden room to get Lief's letter.
Then Special 2 is effectively episodes 16 and 17 of S3. Just consolidating the army, heading out, then protecting Earth after midway through the special everything goes wrong. Not really anything even has to be changed here really except just smoothing out the transitions between segments. Admittedly, the Plantars probably rely more on Domino 2 to replace the loss of Frobo and unfortunately Polly just doesn't have a lot to do in All In.
Then Special 3 is literally just The Hardest Thing. Pretty much no changes I think because the elements for it have still been covered.
And that's it. It's not by any means perfect of course. Elements are rushed and some elements probably feel neglected or abandoned entirely. I already mentioned Polly but this version also means Sprivy is ignored post S1 effectively and just has a nice come back at the end of the finale (which is a good argument for Ivy on the Run over Toad of Redemption for the filler segment in episode 10 of the rewrite). Worse yet... Sprig is kind of ignored and Anne and his friendship is mostly left fallow. I admittedly don't think the show does the best job keeping it burning post S1 but S1 sells it HARD already as part of the stable base of the show so it's not a big problem. It also harms the connection to Amphibia itself so a line like "They aren't Amphibia's greatest treasure" doesn't hit as hard.
It would almost certainly feel actually rushed... Which is a fuckton better than what happened with TOH because TOH doesn't feel rushed. Its three specials are incredibly bloated with plotlines THEY introduce, or S2B introduced, that go nowhere. Or hell, resolutions that mean nothing, like how Luz finishes her character arc THREE. FUCKING. TIMES. Even people who love TOH still will admit the majority of For the Future is filler. That it does nothing to actually move anything forward, wrap much of anything up that couldn't have been left alone (besides Stringbean but that moment is cut off at the knees immediately by the finale's dream sequence) and those are people who won't bring up how Willow had her power problems resolved literally two seasons ago. S3 is so bankrupt on what to do to fill the time that they bring it back anyways, alongside Kikimora who has NO REASON to still be a villain we're dealing with.
That is the HUGE difference here. TOH doesn't actually feel like we're missing out on anything with its S3 besides fluff and maybe a bit of exploration on the whole Grimmwalker thing. The specials just don't feel like they actually know what to do in the first place though. It makes it feel like we're mostly missing out on filler but there's already so much of that in these episodes. Even the elements that could have been expanded, like Belos backstory, the human realm shenanigans and the Collector's redemption are rough because none of these are from before the shortening. Only Hunter's arc is really something stared BEFORE THE SHORTENING. Belos' backstory and the contradictory nature of The Collector, like how he absolutely knows what death is during Hollow Mind and is a complete evil fucker there... Are written in S2B. They were included and written as part of the shortening. Hell, the human realm and the Collector as a whole weren't even planned for S3 supposedly. They were things they wanted to do but didn't have a place for them and so just jammed in these MASSIVE new elements that needed more time than was available with no care for the fact that they had NO TIME. (I don't have a source for this unfortunately.)
Admit you didn't have a plan for your show without admitting you didn't have a plan.
That also brings up an element that I brought up at the top: How much the story might have actually changed. I'm having to work off of the main outline provided by the show but it's entirely possible that The Core might not have been included. That Earth might not have. Changes would have happened to the overall story and it's kind of impossible to reasonably guess how. After all, I wouldn't have guessed that an all powerful child and a trip to the human realm would have been responses to a shortening for The Owl House.
So I did my best and I still stand by that this would still be a fine to good version of the show. That it wouldn't have been impossible to tell a full narrative with the time given. One that is still thematically coherent, has a strong finale that doesn't contradict itself and still has plenty of fun in it to counterbalance the higher focus on the more dramatic elements.
That's still a LOT better than can be said for TOH's finale, let alone its three specials.
======+++++======
I ended up just rewriting the outline as a way to give it more thought instead of copy and pasting the first one I wrote. *whimpers*

Ok, let's talk about Marcy. Dear, sweet, precious Marcy. *sigh*
[EDIT: Future Maltor here. This is a draft of a post I began making two years ago, after True Colors aired. It is unfinished. I have realized that I am never going to finish it properly, so I am posting it as is.]
I want to start with the aspect this time. So, obviously, Marcy's immediately obvious strength is that she is very, very smart. There are two aspects that primarily deal with intelligence, and those are Light and Mind.
Let's consider Light first. Light players are heavily focused on information - they are driven to study and understand new things, as much as possible. A Light player believes that there's nothing in the universe that can't, or shouldn't, be categorised and organised, studied and understood.
In my Sasha post, I talked briefly about how Light players are highly focused on constructing reality as a narrative with themselves at the center. Aranea literally tries to insert herself into the story, Rose defines her entire existence by a rejection of any narrative (ironically, her assertion that people don't have character arcs is the climax of her character arc), and Vriska... is Vriska. Marcy... has this trait too, kind of? But in kind of an unusual way.
To start with, we have to mention the way she treats Amphibia as a whole, as an escapist fantasy. There are people who have said that Marcy treats Amphibia as a game, but, I don't think that's quite accurate. (I was one of them, but that was a theory post that I made before we fully understood her). As a statement, that implies that Marcy sees the inhabitants of the world as characters and not as people. Multiple episodes (The First Temple, Maddie and Marcy, even Scavenger Hunt) clearly demonstrate that's not the case - she shows a lot of empathy, actually!
But there is something to the idea that Marcy sees herself, specifically, as a character in a narrative. That she's, well, roleplaying. When we first meet Marcy, it seems that her time in Amphibia has allowed her to thrive, and to some extent that's true, but in actuality there's something a lot more insidious going on with her desire to help everyone and improve everything. The Chief Ranger, the smart girl, the puzzle solver, the witch... Marcy takes up these roles and identities because she feels that they make her useful, that they make her needed. She's so desperate for the approval of others that she allows herself to be defined by their wants and expectations. Marcy's particular narrative of self is one where she allows other people to define her identity based on their expectations of her. An obsession with fitting herself into other people's narratives, if you will.
So, the fixation on stories, kind of check. Intelligence, check. An association with luck or fortune... it's debatable, but you could argue that Marcy's clumsiness is a kind of misfortune. Ok, Light's looking like a pretty viable contender.
However, there's another element to what makes up Light - and that's truth.
It's become apparent that Marcy has some kind of... well, I'm not a psychologist, so this isn't going to be a diagnosis, but... let's call it separation anxiety. She struggles with making new friends, making connections, to the point where she feels like she's incapable of doing so. So she's utterly desperate to hold on to the friends she does have. Which is why she sends the girls to Amphibia.
[Future Maltor again: Aaaand that's as far as I got with this analysis.
So, my original intention when writing this post was to dismiss Light and Mind and argue that Marcy was actually a Doom player, but in the process of looking through all the evidence, I convinced myself that Light really was her aspect.
As for the class, well... I mean, do I really need to explain why it has to be Rogue? The class that's all about fading into the background?]

Maps, maps, I have maps coming out of my ears I’ve got so many. We’re practically giving them away here at Gemini’s Map Emporium!
Another Amphibia map, with a printable alternative!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This time, it’s the map of Newtopia, from S2e10, The “A Day at the Aquarium” segment in particular.
Tumblr media
There is another version of the Newtopia map I might do in the future, from 3 episodes prior to this one, S2E7, in “The Scavenger Hunt” that Marcy uses. We get a good look at that one when Sprig takes a peek at the map.
Tumblr media
Hope you enjoyed the map, and feel free to print it out and color it in yourself if you’d like!

Sasha and Marcy’s (and Anne’s) relationship: the lines THE LINES
Tumblr media
...
First off, there is very little interaction in the show between Sasha and Marcy that isn't about Anne.
I can pinpoint exactly one instance in which they interact with each other without considering Anne, and that is in episode "The Third Temple". You know, after they haven't seen each other in months.
Tumblr media
Marcy: "Ah! Sasha! Sasha! Sasha! Sasha!"
Sasha: *laughs* "Hey, Marmar! Whoa! Check out your new threads!"
Marcy: "Speak for yourself, look at that armor! How did you find us?!"
One instance in the entire show, though I'm sure there are similar moments scattered about. But that's all they are - moments. Are Marcy and Sasha ever focused on each other? If not, do they even interact outside of Anne, or is Anne the glue that holds them together because they wouldn't have a reason to hang out otherwise?
Mind you, this could be because the show is about Anne, Anne is the protagonist of Amphibia and not Marcy and Sasha. But you could at least imply a relationship outside of Anne if such a relationship existed. I for one would like to see Sasha and Marcy interact without Anne in the picture at all.
Anyway, in "Scavenger Hunt" Marcy does not pick up on Anne thinking she herself is dumb compared to Marcy. Because if Marcy did she'd show symptoms of having already picked up on that instead of being surprised by it at the end of the episode! If they were on the same page, the same line, the episode could still work with Marcy picking up on that and thinking "well, it's probably not that bad, I might be good at maths but she's so good with people," dismissing her problems As Marcy Is Wont To Do.
Same thing in "Commander Anne"! Where Sasha throws Anne into a leadership position in a rebellion she doesn't know in a land that's changed drastically since she's been gone! Naturally Anne cracks under pressure  at the end: "I'm drowning out here dude! Do you want me to fail? *small gasp* Is that what this is? some kind of new manipulation?"
And in both cases when Anne fesses up or explains herself Sasha and Marcy might go: "No, I don't think that at all!" or: "That wasn't my intent!"
That is true, but that would be out of character for Sasha and Marcy to do to each other. At least, my subconscious tells me that's the case. Why? Well, consider that there has never been any miscommunication between Marcy and Sasha in the show.
Tumblr media
In season 2 finale "True Colors" Marcy texts Sasha with an image of the calamity box. We don't see what exactly she texts before she sends the image, but Marcy says this out loud while she's texting: "I think I just found the perfect birthday present for Anne." And in season 1 finale "Reunion" Sasha says this: "Oh my gosh. Marcy says she found the perfect gift for you downtown! Haha! A frog music box for the frog lover." A pause. "I wonder if those gems are real."
What I'm getting from this is that they're immediately on the same page regarding Anne's birthday gift. Sasha might not know exactly what Marcy is thinking, but they are on the same line of thought!
This is shown in "The Hardest Thing", too! When Anne goes to use the power of all three stones and maybe die in the process (Anne you have issues), they practically join thought processes after that.
And Anne ... is not on their line. Anne has a hard time communicating with their line, as shown in almost every episode where they interact, and Marcy and Sasha have a hard time communicating with Anne's line.
Extrapolating from this, I'd imagine that Sasha thinks her line is best, and she is the leader so she gets to decide that her line is best, and Marcy is part of that line and Anne is not.
Do you get what I'm putting down? Please do not attack me for this, but if Sasha's line is best, then Anne is on an inferior line in the eyes of Sasha and arguably(???) Marcy.
Tumblr media
In season 2 Marcy and Anne are almost never on the same line and you can see it in the episodes, but throughout season 2 they actually take steps to be on the same line, like in "Marcy At The Gates" and "The First Temple". Steps to improve their relationship!
And then True Colors happens, where we discover that Marcy wasn't being honest and is just as messed up as Sasha. Yeah ....
Point being, both Marcy and Sasha have always been dishonest to Anne and each other up to this point, and in season 3 that changes but you have to wonder if this is a common thing, even before Amphibia.
Speaking of "True Colors", something that's always stuck with me is that during Sasha's toad rebellion there's a lot of focus on Anne and Sasha with the whole "I am done being friends with you" thing, but Marcy is there too! She's literally experiencing Sasha's betrayal at the same time as Anne, and yet she isn't getting focused on at all!
And the same thing happens in reverse! Marcy says her whole "I gave you this, I gave you everything" spiel to convince herself and the girls but when Sasha backs away Marcy stops focusing on her, directing her full attention to Anne. Why?
I don't know???
I feel like ... Marcy and Sasha are always focused on Anne. They're never focused on each other.
Come to think of it, Marcy and Sasha don't seem to like each other very much?
Sasha: "She got us stuck here on purpose, Anne. I know she was freaking out about moving, but it's still super messed up."
Tumblr media
Sasha: "Ok, so let's say you're right, and we've been taking Marcy for granted, that doesn't change what she's done." Anne: "It's not about what she did, Sash. It's about why she did it." Sasha: "So, I'm supposed to forgive her? Like it's easy?"
Between the dialogue above and Darcy saying "Marcy always thought you were kind of a brute," (Darcy's being manipulative, but still.) they don't really ... seem to have a high opinion of each other? I know that Sasha calls Marcy her "lovable little nerd", but she wouldn't have said that without Anne's prompting of "I mean, just look at what you and I have now." (Gayest moment in Amphibia, by the way.)
The following is a big assumption, but assuming I'm right and they don't like each other (though they obviously do care about each other make no mistake about that), do you think they'd be more geniune? To each other, I mean. Because they don't care about the other's opinion as much, not like with Anne who they want to project a certain image to. (Which is why Marcy doesn't direct her True Colors spiel at Sasha as much, by the way.)
Expanding on that, do you think they talk behind Anne's back about things they can't talk about with Anne, because they want to project the image of their best selves to her?
(EDIT: Actually, Sasha and Marcy are more similar than might be apparent when you boil them down. Their slightly condescending love of Anne (which goes two ways in Anne&Marcy's relationship but not in Anne&Sasha's), their same brand of abandonment issues and the same lengths they'll go to to not be left behind, them both being content with staying in Amphibia if it meant their girls stayed with them. Like I dunno, there's something about looking at another person and seeing the same kind of damage reflected back. I don't think they would like it.)
Again, we don't see much of their relationship in the show. I'm sort of limited by that fact, so I can only make informed guesses.
I just find it interesting that in the epilogue, after catching up with each other because I'm assuming they haven't seen each other in months at this point (and the audience needs their exposition after all), they immediately segue into talking about Anne 💀💀💀

Mystery Monday #14: Who is Anne Boonchuy?
Anne Boonchuy is a lot of things -- a 13 year old girl, a human, a person -- and today, we're going to talk about who else she is.
In the Reunion and All-In flashbacks, Anne is a passive follower who will just do what Sasha and Marcy want to do because it's easier.
Starting in Anne or Beast?, she is a monster that came from the woods.
Starting in Best Fronds, she is Sprig's best friend.
In Dating Season, Sprig introduces her to Ivy as "oddity from another world."
Gradually working its way towards a conclusion in Family Shrub, Anne is a member of the Plantar family.
Gradually building up starting in Lily Pad Thai, she is a friend to the rest of Wartwood, starting with Stumpy.
In the same episode, she becomes John Tapper and reenacts an episode of Bar Rescue.
Starting in Toad Tax, she is an accepted and respected member of the town of Wartwood. (Didn't take long for that second one)
In Snow Day, she is the Town Protector of Wartwood.
Starting in Combat Camp, she becomes a fighter.
In Anne of the Year, she is the Frog of the Year and is recognized by the town of Wartwood as having come a long way.
During Anne of the Year and Reunion, she is the de facto leader of Wartwood. Afterwards, she becomes the hero of Wartwood, as well as an enemy of Sasha and Grime.
On the road to (and in) Newtopia, Anne finds herself once again a freak (Wax Museum)
and a monster (Little Frogtown).
In Scavenger Hunt, Anne becomes a helper to the kid who lost her kill-a-pillar in a tree, and a friend to her, to Doris, and to Gertie.
In Return to Wartwood, we learn that Anne was the life of Wartwood, the one who kept it an interesting place to live.
When Marcy moves to Wartwood, Anne is the role model the residents hope she will turn into (New Wartwood).
In The Second Temple, Anne completes her journey towards becoming the heart Calamity Stone.
When Sasha is around, Anne jumps into the role of peacekeeper between her and the Plantars (The Third Temple and The Dinner).
In True Colors, she gains cool "Anne-ime" powers, and "Anne-drias" shows us what she could have become had she followed a different path.
In The New Normal, Anne goes back to being her parents' daughter, but this time she adds on roles as a responsible caretaker and a student of dimension hopping technology.
In Turning Point, Anne is the inspiration for Sasha to start the Wartwood Rebellion.
Later in the same episode and in Fight at the Museum and Anne-Sterminator, she develops into a better fighter.
In Mr. X, Hollywood Hop Pop, If You Give a Frog a Cookie, and Escape to Amphibia, Anne becomes a better protector while avoiding Mr. X and Dr. Frakes.
In "Comm-Anne-der" (Commander Anne), we learn that Anne was the fuel that kept Sasha and the Wartwood Rebellion going.
In the same episode, we learn that she is decidedly NOT a military commander.
From Newts in Tights thru The Three Armies, Anne was the driving force behind gathering troops to the rebellion's cause (as the social one)
and helping them get along, once again playing the role of peacekeeper / mediator. We even learn that she played this role before, when she got the track team and the band to get along by pointing out their need for lung control. (Speaking of which, no, Anne, that was not the only award you've ever gotten. You won Frog of the Year.)
And in the grand finale, Anne becomes the hero who singlehandedly saved two worlds in one day (or as Hop Pop put it, "the greatest kid who ever...")
I'll come out with more posts on this topic soon, so watch for those. But that's all for now. See you next week for another Mystery Monday!

HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY GRAVITY FALLS!!
It's taken me a while but I've slowly realized, with it falling back into a bit of spotlight, that Gravity Falls is truely one of, if not, the best cartoon I've ever watched. I love toh and amphibia and put them on this list also.
Gravity falls just has this great charm and humor that i wish i could save, and maybe become at some point. I've been watching video essays about it, (and stayed up till 4 in the morning reading fics in the found family tag but that's besides the point) and it truely has such an awe inspiring sense of mystery and wonder, darker themes and real fleshed out characters, while still being so fun and silly to anyone who sees it.
Gravity Falls was ahead of it's time. I mean, what Alex Hirsh came up with shows how someone with a creative mind can create something amazing. The ciphers in end screens, the opening, and even little codes in episodes? It got people invested in the mystery, being apart of putting pieces together, talking about what could happen next. Don't even get me started on the scavenger hunt after the show ended.
Actually, no, i will get started on that. Alex Hirsch cares and is dedicated to this show so much. He stuck with it through Disney's bullshit censorship, created stuff for fans to find, he put together that whole across country scavenger hunt for god's sake!
This is getting long (and i just realized im info dumping, lmao) but if anything, there is one message I want to conclude with. We could have had alot more good things, and obviously, representation, if Disney's executives minded their fucking business. I think this goes for alot of things as well. Like I stay awake at night thinking about what we could've had in the owl house without Disney.
What I'm saying is, creative minds are being stomped on because their shows either don't pander to children, aren't dragged out outrageously long for profit, or have the audacity to show one bit of representation that makes a few parents mad.
But with everything, I'm so glad that Gravity Falls played out the way it did. I love the show, and it's such a master piece that, if one day i have kids, i will be sure to watch it with them. Heck, I'm getting excited just thinking about it. Rant over, thank you.

Note
In terms of you saying Jim Cummings didn't do voicework for Amphibia in a recent Rescue Rangers review, he actually did do voicework on Amphibia (albeit credited as additional voices) as a stuffy rich man in Swamp and Sensibility, the alligator and imaginary dragonfly in Scavenger Hunt, and the security guard in Day at the Aquarium.
THis is the second time I was told this in 24 hours... but yes I was wrong. It can happen. I didn't do my due dillgence because I thought, wrongly apparently that jim would have a bigger role than that. And i'm still not sure why he didn't. like i'm not asking that he had a big recurring role, just that he got a promient guest spot instead of minor roles.
